i just finished Denny O’Neil’s run of Azrael and oh my god… it was a ride. sometimes it falls into so bad it’s good, other’s it’s just what the fuck is this, and every so rarely i would even call it good. it is a flaming pile of wasted potential and no wonder DC tried to cover up/barely acknowledge Jean-Paul Valley for like 13 years.

Fanfiction

They are art to put it simply

Then there are some that you avoid, the kind of

art that breaks you down , builds you up a new over and over again , makes you experience emotions you didn't think existed or you were capable off .

It's gut wrenching and yet hauntingly beautiful .

These fics are the one I avoid cause they are a rollercoaster I don't know if hate or love.. it makes feel and experience things that leave me feeling hollow yet overwhelmed with thoughts of what ifs, what just happened, crying and screaming yet smiling and somewhat content cause damn that was beautiful.. and no matter how much the what ifs haunt there isn't a better ending I can imagine . It's just perfect the way it is .

They are the ones I would vow to never read again yet they are also the ones closest to my heart .

It's always the bittersweet ones . That I have always have a bittersweet bond with .

I feel kind of dense.

I see all these overwhelmingly positive reviews for W0rldtr33 that comment on the haunting art and the gripping writing and the oh-so-human characters and their complex relationships. But here's the problem: I don't GET this comic.

The story makes very little sense to me. Especially the ending. If the solution to the Undernet's reign of terror was actually implied in a comprehensible way, I missed it, and that sucks, because I very much want to understand this comic. The characters DID win me over. The art and writing DID immerse me. But what the hell did I really just read?

Why did any of that horrible stuff just happen? And what really was Gabriel's plan? What, precisely, did he set in motion before he died? What saving grace did he leave behind for his friends?

I have too many unanswered questions. I invested time in this story, and interest, but nothing really came together for me by the end of issue #5. I'm frustrated. Does anybody have any insights?
