I really like the idea of soulmate AUs where the mark only appears when both parties love each other very deeply- like when they’ve grown to know and love each other and the appearance of the mark is just a confirmation that their bond is very special and that they might have been meant to be in theory but now it’s real from the way they chose to live, from their own decisions? In this universe you have a soulmate- or more than one, even, but the marks don’t always appear unless things play out a certain way.

I could really see this working super well for a Zoro and Sanji fic that follows canon events with their typical bickering and self sacrificing shenanigans - with all the perfect gradual silent pining from both sides of course as they grow to tolerate and then like and love each other- and they think that it will never happen until one day the mark appears and they’re like ??? YOU??? (Insert Spider-Man meme) LOVE ME ??? And depending on how the marks manifest themselves in universe it could be a really funny moment with the crew there or a really heartfelt moment between them at thriller bark or post time skip or in Wano ?

What's this, a wings of fire redesign thing? Yeah I kind of wish the tribes had more unique body shapes because looking at all of them they have like, the same sort of proportions for the most part.

I feel like mudwings would have a more crocodilian-sort of body shape, more designed for ambush, with shorter, thicker necks since they're known to be the tanks of the tribes.

Sandwings I took more inspiration from vipers and lizards that actually live in the desert, and I feel like they could almost slither across the sand to sneak up on prey.

Nightwings I took a lot more inspiration from things like komodo dragons, and gave them kind of stretchier skin on their underside and smaller scales across their body, which I feel like mimics things like obsidian and volcanic rock.

Seawings deserve some anglerfish lures and the bioluminescence to be more similar to IRL creatures like deep-sea jellyfish. I also took inspiration from dolphins for the head shape, seeing as we read about how the seawings believe them to be cousins of sorts.

Rainwings I took inspiration from chameleons and frilled lizards, make them look like they can be threatening if they want to.

Icewings I gave almost seal-fur on their undersides for more help on the ice, caribou-esque horns to give a bit of uniqueness to the silhouette, and protruding tusks both for the ice and silhouette.

Skywings I made have a bit of a bird vibe with the head shape, almost like they could hook into whatever they're biting or use it to pick up things like rocks.

Whenever I do AUs, I try to incorporate both Legends and canon as much as possible. In Legends, Grievous became a cyborg after his ship was rigged. However Disney canon had him consent to becoming a cyborg. I would like to think prior the Clone War, he was still in debt to the IBC and then changed his name to Grievous after losing Ronderu. While working and doing “black market” deeds paying off his planet’s debt to the IBC, any major or severe injuries would be replaced by cybernetics via the Techno Union. As the Clone War approaches, Dooku has assailants rig his ship and is then finally turned into the classic cyborg Grievous that we know of.

no because it's so poignant, the way the greatest minds are never quite stable. like that one bible quote, "for in much wisdom there is much sorrow, and whoever increases knowledge increases grief" and the unbearable heaviness of being that's explored in Zapffe's "The Last Messiah" i love the idea of poets going mad and well-meaning politicians going corrupt and geniuses being isolated in their lofty ideals and wisdom, like nothing is more damning than understanding so deeply that you alone can bear it and perhaps it's even exacerbated in the case of alhaitham and kaveh, both equally brilliant and so intrinsically antithetical that despite their genius, they can never understand the other and in doing so are reminders of their ever-existing grief and loneliness, perched as they are on their respective pedestals but while in alhaitham's objectivity and a near misanthropic apathy he has learned to accept this, kaveh's endless self-doubt and love do not allow him to resign himself to his reality which is why, despite alhaitham being an incredible character in his own right, I am so moved by kaveh and his extremes. i love kaveh so much
