syscourse is so stupid like what are you doing right now? policing how other peoples’ mental illness manifests?? huh??? what a waste of time and energy to care about shit like that. like even if someone is “faking” honestly what is even the harm in that? think about it. what is someone gaining by pretending to have a stigmatized mental disorder? and if someone really is consciously faking a disorder for whatever reason, then obviously they are unwell in some other way and still deserve compassion.

like really think. what is actually being taken away from you when someone fakes a mental illness or misdiagnoses themselves or is a system created in a different way from you? what is the material harm there? i don’t see it. there is not a limit of mental health resources. i really truly can’t wrap my head around caring about this enough to tell people to not interact with you if their system manifested in a way you “don’t believe in” like. who cares. why do you care. none of this matters.

the only harm i can think of to someone misdiagnosing themselves would be.. to themselves. and then it’s not really your business. so whatever. and you cannot possibly know if this is the case or not because you are not in their brain. and then you’re only causing more harm by telling them they’re invalid or whatever. it’s all so stupid. i don’t get it.
