MULTIVERSAL RULES

There are so many rules of multiversal travel in the MCU that I am kind of confused trying to keep track of all of them. So, I thought of compiling a list of multiversal rules introduced so far to make it easy to keep track of everything we have been told so far. *I will keep updating this list as new rules are introduced.

The multiverse is a concept we know very little about 😂😂 (Doctor Strange)

Changing the past doesn't change the future, it only creates a new timeline (Endgame)

The Avengers closed off the branches in timelines by returning the stones from where they picked them up, essentially creating a closed loop. (Endgame)

HWR rearranged the multiverse into a singular timeline called the Sacred timeline (Loki)

The TVA is tasked with maintaining the proper flow of time, as predetermined by HWR (Loki)

HWR isn't concerned with protecting timeline or avoiding time displacements. He only prunes events that lead to the rise of his variants and the multiversal war between them. That is why they let Steve go back in time in Endgame, maybe because his diversion didn't lead to Kang's variants rising (Loki)

Stepping off the predetermined path creates a nexus event (Loki)

The TVA tracks variants with their temporal aura (Loki)

To fix a nexus event, the TVA resets the timeline, which loops the timeline back to the time before the nexus event, leaving the variants without a place on the timeline (Loki)

The TVA can't reset a nexus event past the red line, also called nearing the apex (Loki)

The TVA need to show up in real time to fix a nexus event (Loki)

Nexus events are caused by chaotic alterations of predetermined outcomes (Loki)

It is impossible to start a nexus event in an apocalypse because everyone and everything is destined for eminent destruction (Loki)

While pruning the TVA just transfers the matter of the timeline to the Void at the end of time (Loki)

The Void is the beginning of a new timeline (Loki)

Killing HWR maybe resetted the timeline paving way for the Kang variants to fight each other again (Loki)

Sylvie killing HWR reactivated the multiverse, which led to all the phase 4 multiversal projects like NWH and MoM 🙂 (interview here)

There are certain fixed events in a character which cannot be changed or it would change their entire course of history. These are called absolute points. (What if episode 4)

Doctor Strange couldn't save Christine because her death was an absolute point, which led to Strange becoming a sorcerer, and changing that would create a paradox (What if ep 4)

Two variants can have totally different appearance and physical features (Loki, NWH), even their relatives can be totally different people in each timeline (the 3 aunt Mays)

It's possible for certain events to not have happened in certain timelines, like no Avengers in Tobey and Andrew's timeline (NWH)

Dreams are the windows into the lives of our multiversal selfs (MOM)

America Chavez can open multiversal portals (MOM)

The gap between universes is called gap junction. (MOM)

The first rule of multiversal travel is that you don't know anything 😂 (MOM)

Food is free in most universes (MOM)

There is a universe where everyone is made of paint (MOM)

Meddling too much with the multiverse can cause two universes to collapse. This is called an Incursion (MOM)

It's possible for variants from other universes to carry new germs which can be harmful to the said universe (MOM)

The MCU universe is 616. The Illuminati one is 838 (MOM)

The darkhold has a spell which allows one to possess their alternate variants body. This is called dreamwalking (MOM)

There is a difference between alternate timeline and alternate universe (this one I deduced myself)

Honestly, I think from the moment that Percy found out that not every demigod has a loving mortal parent they can depend on, when they already can't depend on the gods, and that Annabeth specifically, hasn't had anyone take care of her like that since she was 7, he decided he would be the one to.

They take care of each other up to that point, but I think that's when he starts noticing how much she takes care of them. She already knew if she didn't no one else will. She protects them against humans, she stands with them against monsters, she always brings up the rear of the group when they're running, and she is always the first one to make a move when they're fighting. She does it because no one is going to protect her if she doesn't do it herself. No one is going to protect Grover and Percy if she isn't.

In the arch, he pretty much tells her he would fight the gods for her, and then he goes on to do just that.

Athena, the one person who was supposed to protect her willingly pushes monsters her way, she lets Echidna and the chimera into a place that was supposed to be safe. Her decision is that Annabeth should be punished, and say what you want, but I think she knew that Annabeth would think through every scenario and know that someone had to stay and hold them back. And I think she knew that Annabeth would be the one to stay. Because that's the way she raised her, knowing that no one cared whether she lived or died. And I think that's the cruellest part.

Which is why Percy's sacrifice means so much more. He not only made the decision to trade his life for hers and fight the monster so she and Grover could escape, but he also made the conscious choice to push back against Athena's wishes. He fought a goddess for her, Athena said "Annabeth will die for her impertinence" and Percy said "Not today, not ever"

god I hope so, I desperately want to see Briar Valley and whatever family member they throw at us. and if it's Baul I hope he's the exact same sprite but with, like, a mustache crudely pasted on. that's how he looks in my head and in my heart.

my entire KINGDOM to see one or both of Sebek's parents though, they are the best characters in all of Twst and they haven't shown up even once. 😭 though I think I might prefer his dad, because 1) show me the noodley dentistman, and 2) Mrs. Z is such a mythical figure in my mind at this point that reality could never compare (w-what if she gets a canon design and she isn't a hundred feet tall and could crack the earth by flexing her thighs, how could I go on) (jk jk she's so great that I would love her no matter what) (but also...)
