There was a timer on Billy's wrist. He didn't know if it was there in his big form, but he learned how to keep track of how much time was left even when he couldn't check it.

Right now, he's in a JL meeting with 10 more minutes of meeting left and 15 minutes until he meets his soulmate. 5 minutes should be enough time to get back to Fawcett with just enough time to transform. He just needs to use his speed of Mercury and avoid talking to anyone else. Easy.

The closer the meeting came to a close the more jittery he got. 5 more seconds. 3. 2. 1.

"Meeting adjourned." Batman announced.

Cap didn't even wait for Supe or Wonder Woman to say their customary goodbyes or give his own before zipping out the door to the zeta.

Back in Fawcett, he quickly depowered and checked his timer. It would be just a few seconds until he meets his soulmate. He bolted for the entrance of the ally the zeta tube was hidden in and promptly ran into a black haired girl.

"Oof!" Billy yelped, tripping and just barely stopping himself from face planting into the cement.

"Oh! Hi," the girl laughed, helping him back up. "I'm guessing you're my soulmate? I'm Dani!"
