RWBY Ship Parallels #1: Fear & Bravery

There are too many ship parallels to put them all in one meta, so I'll make individual posts as I remember them. The first one I want to tackle is how all the canon or hinted-at-being-canon ships all have pivotal moments where the themes of being afraid and/or having courage come up.

Some elaborations under the cut!

For starters, just for context to refer back to throughout the post, the definition of courage/bravery is as follows:

noun 1. the ability to do something that frightens one. 2. strength in the face of pain or grief.

I was initially going to list these chronologically, but we're going to do it on a ship by ship basis instead. First up:

Renora

The first incident for them happens all the way back in V4 during their backstory flashback. Ren underwent a small arc learning from his father that sometimes the worst action to take is not taking any action at all, even if it's scary. He then tries to support Nora by teaching her this same lesson: that they both need to be brave. She expresses vulnerability about how scared she is, Ren confesses to feeling the same, and together they decide to look after each other from that point on. Which makes everything just a bit less frightening.

We also revisit these same themes in their V8 confession. First we see Nora criticizing Ren for running away just because things got difficult:

And after Ren owns up to this cowardice, the things he did out of fear of failure, the conversation shifts. Nora admonishes herself, and Ren lists things off about her that he admires, the last of which - while not using the word itself - calls to how brave of a person she is and cites it as one of the main reasons why he loves her. Because as the definition above states, being strong and helping people without worrying about how much it might hurt you in turn is what it means to have courage.

WhiteKnight

Their heart-to-heart in V9E9 says it all. Weiss has been carrying the weight of failing to save Atlas since it fell, and after Ruby's actions in the episodes prior, she became aware (a bit too late) of how those same failures were weighing on their leader. So when Jaune acknowledges the harm he caused from trying so desperately not to repeat their past mistakes, Weiss is the perfect person to step up for reassurance.

She knows that their failures do not equate to their worth or all the good they're capable of doing. And reminding Jaune of this, calling him a brave and good person in spite of his failures, is what he needed to hear to be able to reach an acceptance he hadn't been able to achieve in all those years trapped alone in the Ever After.

(Also the framing parallel of BB and WK both holding each other is a very nice touch.)

Bumbleby

With BB it's not just one or two moments. Blake and Yang's characters both centre around the themes of cowardice and bravery since their beginnings and we see it come up throughout the show a lot. Back in V2, Yang sees the bravery in Blake when she herself can only focus on the opposite:

Blake: When you figured out I was a faunus I didn't know what to do, so I ran. when I realized my oldest partner had become a monster, I ran! Even my semblance... I was born with ability to leave behind a shadow of myself. An empty copy that takes the hit while I run away.

In V4 and 5 we see Yang struggling to get back on her feet after losing her arm and the trauma she endured at Beacon. Blake tells Sun that she sees Yang as the "embodiment of strength" and we, the audience, get to see the proof of this every time she keeps fighting despite shaking, and especially when she faces off with Raven in the finale.

These parallel arcs culminate with both of them facing off against Adam together, but most especially gets called back to in their mutual confession scene in V9:

Yang acknowledges what she saw in Blake all those years ago, that she doesn't give up on what matters to her, even when people hurt her, she still fights for what's important. While Blake acknowledges Yang's reliability, her strength, and her courage. And both of them, like Renora, cite these reasons as things they admire, and reasons why they love each other.

Now last, but certainly not least:

Rosegarden

One of the very first things Oscar says to Ozpin when he leaves the farm is that he's scared. This comes back time and time again, especially in the Atlas arc where Oscar spends so much of his time counselling Ironwood against letting his fear control him (a conflict Ruby is also a part of). Our little prince even has a theme song titled Fear to really drive it home.

Whereas Ruby has always been the poster child of "keep moving forward", no matter how much the trauma, stress, pressure, and grief weighs you down. You just have to be strong and keep pressing on, fighting the monster that took her mother away. No matter what.

So, much like BB, there are themes around bravery, fear, and perseverance that apply to both Ruby and Oscar's personal arcs. Both of them especially have focus on being brave despite fears of loss. With Oscar, it is fear of losing himself to the merge; whereas Ruby has a fear of losing those she loves.

All the way back in the infamous Dojo Scene is where we first see these themes addressed in their dynamic. It starts with Oscar expressing vulnerability to Ruby about how afraid he really is.

Ruby initially tries her usual strategy; surface level reassurances about just pushing through it... but it doesn't work on him. So after some upset from Oscar, she ends up being vulnerable with him too. Something she hadn't done with anyone else in show by that point.

Ruby admits that she's afraid too, not just for herself, but for the threat Salem poses to the world as they know it and the people within it. Ruby tells him about those she's lost and says that if it had been her instead, those friends would have kept fighting too. That vulnerability, which requires courage in and of itself, is what motivates and inspires Oscar to keep moving forward where Ruby's earlier attempt could not. The scene closes off with one more nod to these themes where Ruby pauses at the door and turns back with one final thought:

In both the above scene and the V4 finale, Ruby cites "fighting for those they've lost and those they haven't lost yet" as her main motive to keep fighting. Up until V8/9 she used this as her greatest source of strength, but that strength is a double edged sword which eventually became her greatest weakness when Neo used it against her. First trapping her in a room with all the people she "failed":

And then landing a finishing blow with making her kill lose one of the people she loves most: Oscar.

Ruby can be brave if it means she can protect the people she loves. But just as Penny's death dealt a very big hit to Ruby's hope, what little she had left was crushed at the thought of losing Oscar (and Little) too.

Aside from that, there has also always been an underlying mystery around what having silver eyes means for Ruby. In V4, she is hunted by Tyrian and in V8 she finds out what her fate would have been had he succeeded. A fate which very justifiably terrifies her and seems to be a theme that will carry on into the Vacuo arc. It is also something that was brought up in the second RWBY x JL movie, I talked about this a little bit in this meta, but I'll share it here as well. In the movie, Ruby opens up a bit about this fear saying the following:

“Did you know I lost my mom when I was a kid? I don’t know exactly what happened to her, I don’t really remember her, I just have stories. And I keep trying to live up to those stories, but… I realize they don’t matter anymore. Heroes fall. And I just want to get as much done as I possibly can before I do.”

This scene directly parallels one of Oscar's back in V6:

“I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be… me. But I did some thinking, and I do know that I want to do everything I can to help with whatever time I have left.”

Both of these scenes show their respective courage around fears related to their issues with identity. Oscar saying he will do whatever he can before he loses himself, and Ruby doing whatever she can before she loses her life as all heroes eventually will.

So to summarize: Renora, Whiteknight, Bumbleby, and Rosegarden all have a scene where one or both partners cite the other's bravery as something they admire or love about the other person. All of these ships also include at least one scene - but often more that just weren't listed here - where they open up and are vulnerable with each other about their fears and motivations. And lastly, with BB and RG especially, bravery and fear are central themes to both their relationship dynamics as well as their individual character arcs within those pairings, all of which narratively parallel each other extensively.

CRWBY is very consistent with how it writes its ships and this is only the tip of the iceberg of all the parallels we've seen between these partners so far. But that's all for now; thanks for reading!

Chemical Weddings: White Knight

Here it comes my second short meta on RWBY's chemical weddings. It is White Knight's turn! Feel free to skip the introduction, if you have already read it in my previous post (or if you already know what a chemical wedding is)

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL WEDDING?

A chemical wedding is a motif used in alchemical stories (aka stories, with symbols related to alchemy). It is a metaphorical union between characters and it represents two opposites coming together. Think of it as a motif that comments on a relationship and describes how it changes throughout a narrative. It shows how two characters' bond develops and how they integrate qualities of each other. Even if it is called "wedding", the union doesn't necessarily have to be romantic, but often it is. Like in RWBY's case.

RWBY uses chemical weddings to develop romantic relationships. How does the series do it? This meta by @hamliet explains it perfectly:

It uses some alchemical imagery (like plates from alchemical texts as reference)

It employs elemental motifs (water, fire, air and earth), which are keys to alchemy

It integrates other symbolism, like romantic subtext or fairy tale references

Both hamliet and I have already talked about RWBY ships and chemical weddings, so this short meta is just a quick review of White Knight’s ones, with some integrations.

Now, let's dig into White Knight's two (for now) weddings.

WHITE KNIGHT'S WEDDINGS

White Knight's weddings make use of this imagery:

There is a Mercurius (entity representative of change), who unites a man and a woman through impaling one of the two.

This is what happens to Weiss and Jaune twice:

In Mistral Cinder impales Weiss and in the Ever After the Curious Cat impales Jaune. Not only that, but both Cinder and the Cat make sure Weiss and Jaune indirectly hurt each other.

Cinder takes Jaune's heroic remarks and uses them as an excuse to mortally wound Weiss:

The Cat tricks Weiss into physically hitting Jaune:

These parallelisms lead us to two considerations:

The two weddings are inversions: this isn't any news because in RWBY the second wedding is always an inversion of the first. Still, when it comes to White Knight, this inversion is particularly through and it ties with an important motif of theirs. Weiss and Jaune are strong mirrors of each other.

Cinder and the Cat (our two antagonistic Mercurius) force Jaune and Weiss into specific gender roles. Both mock Jaune (the knight) and use Weiss (the damsel). This isn't by accident and it ties with the archetype explored by White Knight, aka that of the Anima/Animus.

MIRROR MIRROR = ANIMA + ANIMUS

Weiss and Jaune's weddings mirror each other in multiple ways. Let's see how.

Weiss and Jaune's first wedding starts with Cinder impaling Weiss and leaving her to die. Jaune rushes by her side and activates his semblance to save her. The whole scene ties in their respective fairy tale symbolism. As a matter of fact Jaune performs a miracle as Jeanne. Weiss instead gets resurrected by the Prince and crowns herself Queen Snowhite through the Queen Lancer.

Weiss and Jaune's second wedding starts at the end of volume 8, when Cinder defeats them both and reiterates their trauma. She forces Jaune to kill a maiden and targets Weiss to hurt Winter. She is also the reason why Weiss and Jaune end up together in the Ever After, where their wedding reaches its climax. In this magical world, Weiss guides Jaune towards self-realization and metaphorically has him fall, so that he can integrate Alyx and resurrect. Their interaction in volume 9 references another alchemical text, knowns as the Splendor Solis. Specifically, it alludes to this plate:

This plate has:

2 miners excavating a hill (a metaphor for making the stone from the prima materia). It is important that the two characters wear respectively a golden and a silver robe, which call back to the Sun and Moon

The Sun and Moon mirroring each other. The Sun is in the sky (air) and the Moon is in the river (water). They are opposites balancing each other

Eshter's story pictured in the frame of the pedestal. Eshter is a biblical character and the second wife of King Ahasuerus, who is determined to kill the Jews. Still, Eshter (a Jews herself) steps in, touches the King's staff and convinces him to let her people live

The plate's theme is the beginning (prima materia) of a union (sun and moon) through communication (Eshter's parable).

It is referenced here:

The Genial Gems create a giant white hill, which clearly alludes to the philosopher stone. Jaune and Weiss play the Solar King and the Lunar Queen:

Jaune is linked to the sun and masculine (gold), while Weiss to the moon and feminine (silver). They grow closer thanks to empathy.

In particular, their interaction is an inversion of King Ahasuerus and Eshter's. In the biblical episode, the King wants to kill the Jews and Eshter stops him. In RWBY, Jaune doesn't want to let the Paper Pleasers ascend and Weiss tries to get through to him (together with BY):

Weiss: Then why do you care so much about this village?! Jaune: Because I can actually PROTECT these people!!

Just like Esther touches the King's staff, Weiss grabs Jaune's sword:

Eshter's gesture is a symbol of intimacy and connection. Similarly, using another person's weapon in RWBY shows closeness.

In short, both weddings are rich of symbolism, but the first focuses on the fairy tale allusion, whereas the second explores alchemical imagery. This isn't the only difference, though, as the two situations are perfect parallels/inversions of each other:

In Mistral, Cinder kills Weiss to hurt Jaune, whereas in Atlas, she forces Jaune to kill Penny. Moreover, both times she negates Weiss's agency and uses her as a pawn to hurt someone else (Jaune and Winter).

In Mistral, Jaune and Weiss go through a crisis together, but they emerge victorious. In Atlas/Ever After, Jaune and Weiss lose, but grow closer as they come to terms with this defeat.

In Mistral, Jaune hurts Weiss because of his psychological issues, but saves her physically. In the Ever After, Weiss saves Jaune psychologically, but hurts him physically. Both are responsible for the death and resurrection of the other.

In Mistral Jaune unlocks his semblance (changes spiritually), whereas in the Ever After he becomes young again (changes physically). Both in Mistral and in the Ever After Weiss ends the wedding by unlocking a new summon. She conjures the Queen Lancer in Mistral and the Nevermore in the Ever After.

In Mistral, Jaune is led by Pyrrha towards his ideal-self, whereas in the Ever After, he is led by Weiss towards his real-self. Symbolically, he goes through two stages of the anima integration. From Pyrrha/Mary (devotion and idealism) to Weiss/Sophia (understanding and reality).

In Mistral, the resurrected Weiss unlocks her Queen Lancer, which is key to fighting Hazel. In the Ever After, Jaune integrates Alyx and is reborn after a trial of fire. Once he comes back, he is key in defeating Neo and the Cat with his plan to separate them. Both do not "win" the conflict, but are instrumental to its solution (Weiss through heart and Jaune through mind).

In general, both times Jaune and Weiss make important steps to integrate their anima/animus, which their bond represents. The anima/animus is the feminine (anima) and the masculine (animus).

In Mistral:

Weiss integrates her animus and summons a Queen Lancer, an entity which is both queen (feminine) and knight (masculine)

Jaune integrates his anima (feminine) by discovering himself a healer (traditionally feminine quality)

In the Ever After:

Weiss integrates her animus by acting as Jaune's Knight. She summons her Knight while fighting side by side with him. Moreover, throughout the whole volume Weiss looks for someone who can guide her home. It turns out in the climax she herself is the guide, the knight, who leads Jaune and the others to the tree. As a matter of fact she is the one who teaches the others the theme of "acceptance".

Jaune integrates his anima by accepting he is no hero (no Knight) and by realizing Alyx is a part of himself. He faces her and integrates her spiritually (her vision in the smoke) and physically (her knife):

In volume 9, both Weiss and Jaune regress and go back to their stereotypical selves. Weiss is stuck as the damsel and Jaune rusts as the knight. However, they move on thanks to each other. They are reborn.

WHITE KNIGHT= REBIRTH

The focus of White Knight is rebirth (coagula). In Mistral they get a victory and in Atlas they get a loss. Still, both weddings climaxes in resurrections. Weiss is reborn in volume 5 and Jaune is reborn in volume 9. Not only that, but after White Knight's Ever After wedding Ruby herself is reborn:

This renewal of the self is celebrated by a full Nevermore:

This marks White Knight's second wedding as their nevermore wedding, which has them overcome grief through love.

NEVERMORE

Weiss summons her full Nevermore in the finale. This Grimm is tied to both Ruby and Jaune.

It is symbolic of Ruby's rebirth, as it is the first Grimm team RWBY killed together and Ruby landed the final blow. Weiss is able to manifest it because by the end her team is whole again and Ruby is back.

It celebrates Jaune and Weiss's wedding, as our Lunar Queen conjures it after her interaction with Jaune. Their exchange is the pivotal moment for Weiss in volume 9, as she helps herself by helping Jaune. She teaches Jaune to forgive himself and learns to forgive herself at the same time. As a result, she unlocks this summoning, which is symbolic of the self:

Its glyph is in fact a mix of all the other ones, as Weiss is a sum of all her avatars.

Jaune too makes a decisive step towards the self:

Alyx: Maybe it’s time for a change, to be the kind of man you always wanted to be.

He accepts Alyx and gets a second chance to grow up as a result:

His new self has a white streak of hair to show he has successfully integrated with Weiss (white) and has obtained wisdom.

FROM UNCONSCIOUS TO CONSCIOUS

There is one final difference between White Knight's two weddings. The first has Weiss and Jaune's metaphorical union happen unconsciously. The second instead has this process become conscious. Let's consider this:

In Mistral Jaune instinctively activates his semblance and Weiss unconsciously unlocks her summon. Their actions happen because of internal and unconscious changes that are not elaborated on. They are quick transformations and the wedding itself is quick.

In the Ever After Weiss consciously encourages Jaune. By doing so both characters find a catharsis for their unconscious feelings. They make them conscious. Similarly, Jaune can consciously face Alyx and integrate with her. Weiss's own summoning is not quick and raw, but it is the result of a process that starts in volume 8 (when she fails to materialize the Grimm), goes on in the chess fight (she has the wings appear) and is finally complete at the end of volume 9 (the full Nevermore manifests itself). The wedding is also very slow and distributed throughout two volumes.

This choice makes sense, as Weiss and Jaune's dynamic is about them slowly realize who they are and who the other is. They have been each other's mirrors since the beginning and as they better understand themselves, they can better relate to the other and accept them.

In all seriousness, I can't quite say. My favorite waxes and wanes, ebbs and flows. Obviously I have my favourites but no one ship takes the cake for me, but if I had to give to whiteknight, which I can really only explain why I like by comparing and contrasting it to my inarguable second favorite ship, Bumbleby.

Bumbleby is generally well crafted. Yang and Blake are opposites of each other, not reflections of each other.

Yang and Adam using their anger and pain to bring others down, but one of them learned to handle their negative emotions while the other was swallowed by them.

Blake and Raven ran from people that cared for them, to go back to familiar haunts, but one found her way back to her team, while the other stole herself away, forever.

But I have a few issues with it.

Most of Yang and Blake's growth seemed to be more for each other than anyone else. Mostly Blake,but that's because CRWBY handled most of the faunus stuff poorly. So I suppose it's less a problem with either Blake or Yang, but the fact that the biggest problem for blake (Before she learned about Salem) was the rights of faunus.

The confession scene, looking at it in hindsight, kinda feels like it forced them to confess, but it feels good to watchm and listen too.

But whiteknight?

It's two kids with the weight of their family legacies on their back.

Weiss, lonely and self-centered, who is used to having nothing but perfect expectations put on them, and to hold, and both have it met and to meet those expectations, who can't trust others, learns to be kind, let people make mistakes, and to be supportive, and to learn to trust others, and be genuinely trusted in return.

Jaune, with nothing but perseverance and friendliness, who presumably had low expectations put on him, who wanted nothing more than to be a hero and to be celebrated for it (He also really did want to help people. Truly.) was taught how to be that hero, and with that lesson also learned the truth behind being a hero.

Weiss gained the family she never had, and Jaune gained the life he always wanted.

And in the beginning they were horrible for each other. Jaune was annoying and pretty dumb, Weiss was far too stuck up.

But now? Weiss learned to be herself because of and For team RWBY. Jaune learned to be smart and stopped caring about getting recognized.

Weiss has seen Jaune at his lowest and Supported him. Jaune has saved Weiss, and protected her, and She's done her best to protect him in turn.

They're both utility on their teams, they both work best in supportive roles, and they both wield swords.

Plus I headcanon that Jaune's Dad took Mama Arc's name when they got married, because he loved her so much he didn't want her to change for him, which I only just realized as I wrote this, makes for a damn good parallel with Jacques and Willow.

People seriously say you defend Jared? Even after you called him abusive to fans every chance you get? That's wild, holy fuck.

It doesn't happen extremely frequently, but yes, there have been anons, possibly just one anon, that insists on saying I'm defending Jared and Holly when I've been doing the opposite from day one. Most of the hate messages I get are either "you don't get many notes so you should just stop" or "well what about such and such that Jared/Holly did huh?" The first one I ignore because I really don't care how many notes I get, and I have comments turned off for my posts anyway so that removes a third of the notes I might get if I had them on. The second type of message I ignore because it's a common deflection method used by Heidi's whiteknights, send endless questions asking about what you think about something Jared or Holly did and keep branching off of your responses until you're completely off the topic of Heidi's behavior. Jared and Holly come up on occasion as part of regular discussion, but I ultimately bring the conversation back to the blog topic, if anyone wants to talk further about Jared or Holly there's plenty of places to do that.

And as for this last shit... Sounds like BirdThatWhispers... and honestly, I wouldn't put it past him, it's not the first time he's tried to pretending to be other people. FYI, no evidence was EVER provided by you dumb fucks! Tri is innocent, and will remain innocent... if you try and hurt her in anyway I swear to fucking God, I'll break my only rule.. and hunt each one of you dumb fucks down and make sure the police puts you freaks behind bars!

I think these rules of thumb to go by are relevant here. They would imply the third part is iffy. But yeah, it’s not like anyone who follows the same rules, treats everyone as individuals, and doesn’t exaggerate things wouldn’t be locked into the opposite choice. I’m back, so what?

All this from this specific person who isn’t a stranger to me because he went into harassment mode and wondered why he temporarily got banned from Reddit. Let’s add this to the baggage I guess.

What are your top five favorite RWBY pairings and why? Just canon characters of course.

For simplicity sake, I am going to say first place is a three way tie between Lancaster, WhiteKnight and Dragonslayer

Sunshower/Sunspots- Aka Sun x Ilia. It’s my baby. I love this ship. I’ve cried making this ship. 😂

Emercury-It’s snarky yet wholesome

Data farms-Literal toothache. They’re awkward and different but they’re that, together.

Monochrome- Honestly Ladybug could also go here. Both of them aren’t exactly opposite attract it’s more like…oil and vinegar I guess? They don’t exactly mix but they go really well together.

Honorable mention to Wild Rose because the hurt/comfort is pure serotonin; and Nora’s Arc because there’s a playfulness yet earnest love I feel there. Like that ship by far feels like the most casual vibe ever. Those two would have quirky romcom energy.

Yang: Weiss?

The door to the bathroom opens and before Yang could peek in shes quickly pulled in by the Heiress.

Yang: Hey now what's the big- Butt...

Before Yang stood Weiss, still wearing her school top and heels. Although her skirt was missing showing off the Heiress's smooth legs and a rather risque looking pair of light blue string panties that left little to the imagination of what exactly she hid underneath that skirt. Yang even thought she noticed the faintest tuft of white hair peeking above the pantyline.

Yang: Damn Weiss, where the Heck have you been hiding that?

The Heiress at least had the decency to guffaw.

Weiss: I'll have you know that unlike you, I don't flaunt myself about.

Yang: Fair point but I mean honestly, your ass is on par with Blake's!

Weiss huffed.

Weiss: As much as I appreciate the compliment I need your help. Here take a look at what I have so far.

Although Yang did see the progress of when Weiss first started taking to first shot, fully clothed and looking at the mirror unsure, to her current outfit with her butt on top of the counter and towards the mirror.

Yang: Well these all look good enough honestly, but why do you need my help?

Weiss: As much as it annoys me to say it, I believe you have a more critical take on how best to woo the opposite sex.

Weiss shook her head and sighed.

Inside of JNPR's room, Jaune and Ren where currently relaxing while Pyrrha and Nora were sparring in the arena.

Ping

The sound of Jaune's Scroll going off from getting a message had broken the comfortable silence.

Ren: A message?

Jaune: Yeah, probably Pyrrha and Nora wanting us to meet them at the cafeteria.

Jaune checked his Scroll and went to the message, seeing that it was from Weiss.

Jaune: Huh, maybe she wants to schedule another study session?

He opened the message and coughed in surprise. Weiss had sent him a picture, but a rather lewd picture that made Jaune stiffen in more ways than one.

The picture was of Weiss holding the scroll above herself and wearing an unbuttoned school shirt, looking at the camera with her tongue poking out just a little. As he kept looking he saw that her skirt was missing entirely and that other hand was pulling the front part of her panties outwards showing the barest hint of her crotch but giving Jaune the answer that she was indeed a natural white.

Before he could respond he received another message from Weiss.

This time it showed her laying down in her bed looking at the camera with a smirk. Although now she was entirely naked save for the pair of panties from the picture previous. Her shapely ass raised up to give a view to him and with a caption just above the open area.

Weiss: Now you send me something my Dork Knight.

Jaune only gulped at the request, he never knew Weiss was able to be kinky, or at least he thought it was kinky. Plus something about seeing the prim and proper Heiress posing in such a way really got his gears going, but there was one problem.

Jaune: Ren?

Ren: Yes Jaune?

Jaune: Can you give me advice on how to talk a nude selfie?

Ren only raised a brow at his leader, and became slightly worried that growing up with Nora had dulled his sense to dealing with the absurd.

Weiss currently sat on her bed in an embarrassed state. Now clad in a bathrobe after taking the last picture, and had been a mix of emotions ever since. First she was proud of sending not one but two pictures to Jaune. This quickly died down to regret in thinking she could've sent something better and finally into worry that Jaune might think if her as a Harlot.

Yang: Yeesh Weiss it's just a nude, not like you asked him plant a baby in you or something.

The response she received was a pillow being thrown at her.

Weiss: You don't get it Yang, what if he thinks I'm too small or what if he thinks my butt is too big? Or or or- Mmhmph!?

She found Yang's hand suddenly covering her mouth.

Yang: Just chillax Weissy, you just gotta have faith is all. Now just take a few breaths and you'll get results.

Weiss stared at Yang and did as told, calming down a bit until she heard the familiar Ping of her Scroll going off. She looked at Yang again, and Yang looked at her.

Weiss: Can you open it for me?

Yang raised a brow at her.

Weiss: Right, this is between me and Jaune now.

She readied herself for whatever response he had given. Opening the message to find two pictures from Jaune and she felt the heat on her face rising from what she saw.

The first picture was of Jaune, stood in front of the mirror without his shirt and flexing. He seemed to be embarrassed if the slight blush was anything to go by but he still stood proudly. Weiss had to admit that Pyrrha's training was doing wonders for his body there was a caption to go with it.

Jaune: I'll do my best to appease you.

She smiled at that, something about that message just clicked something inside if the Heiress. The second image however was far different. Much like her own picture, Jaune was laying in his own bed on his back and scroll facing downwards. He still had his pants on but the belt and zipper was undone and allowed the Arc to pitch a sizeable tent with his white boxers as even the waistband had been lifted ever slightly to give a small glimpse within. Weiss gulped, her first thought being that the size would destroy her, but also that Jaune was a natural blonde all the way. This one also had a caption.

Jaune: Your knight's blade is at the ready your majesty.

So distracted Weiss was that she failed to notice Yang moving up beside her.

Yang: *whistles* Damn VB, you gonna tear Weiss up with that!

Weiss snapped out if her trance and did the only thing she could think of.

Across the Hall, Jaune was putting his clothes back and adjusting his member when he heard the familiar shrill if the Heiress.

Jaune: Uh, was what I sent her that bad?

At the question, Ren came out if the bathroom when he gave Jaune his privacy.

Ren: Not in the slightest, those poses were rather good for the sudden moment.

Jaune: How can you-

Ren: I did a modeling gig before Beacon started for some cash.

Jaune: But-

Ren: It was for someone who's last name was Adele, can't fully remember. Tell no one by the way.

Jaune: Oh... Okay.

The two were in silence save for the yelling still coming from across the Hall.

Jaune: Hope it wasn't too bad though.

They heard the laughing shout from across the hall.

Yang: He's gonna destroy you with that thing!

Weiss: Won't know until I try it Xiao-Long, now give me back my Scroll!

Ren only looked at Jaune who was blushing now.

Ren: It seems it was good enough Jaune.

I saw your post related to your favourite ships which are Lancaster, whiteknight and nora's arc. Is it because you like girls that are small, adorable and thicc? If the answer is yes then why neo isn't mentioned ?

Honestly, height and thicc-ness aren't really a factor. It's more the dynamic with each one.

Lancaster the best friends ship. They hang out, do stupid things together, and enjoy every second of it. Lancaster, to me, is a ship about friends growing, learning, and loving together every day, one day at a time. Ruby does something dumb, Jaune will be there to catch her. Jaune feels depressed, Ruby is there to boost his spirits.

White Knight is the dream come true ship. Weiss gives him a chance, and he turns out to be a great boyfriend. Plus, it's also a great spoiled, lonely girl meets middle-class at best guy with a loving family. Like, she'll teach him formality, while he helps her understand not being rich.

Nora's Arc is the opposites attract ship. Jaune is the knight archetype; he does as he's told, he leads others, and he puts himself out there to protect others. Nora is a gremlin; she does what she wants, doesn't care what anyone thinks, and is an overall loose cannon. But here comes the yin-yang twist that makes it what I love about it; Jaune will use under-handed methods to win, and Nora respects Jaune enough to listen to him. Plus, I can see them helping each other; Jaune will help Nora with self-control, while Nora helps Jaune break out of his shell.

As for Silent Knight, and why it wasn't mentioned, I have three things to point out:

I DO NOT hate them. In fact, I will ship them because I like them; they're a classic Villain/Hero ship.

I wanted to limit the amount of ships in that post, since I didn't want people to feel like they couldn't mention their ship without feeling like they're not unique.

Silent Knight is a valid ship. If you ship them, you are valid. If you don't ship them, you are valid.

it’s weird that weiss is the only on screen racist in the schnee family

I have no idea because the Faunus racism arc was still at its high by the time Jacques and Whitley were introduced. Jacques obviously has his moments, and his running of the SDC should say enough, but Whitley straight up has no opinions of the Faunus even when he meets Blake and Marrow in V7.

The writers can't even decide if they want Faunus racism or not, because despite wrapping it all up with the White Fang in V6, they still shoved in hamfisted moments in the following volumes, and one of those was only for pretend Yang actually gave a shit about Faunus rights after seven volumes of not doing shit, even when her supposed girlfriend was being hatecrimed right in front of her.

Like, I can see Winter growing out of it somewhat in the military, but she's also racist in V8 with Marrow. So what gives? Is the racism only supposed to be called out by the show if it's done by the evil patriarch or Weiss when we weren't supposed to side with her? 'Cause Weiss has gone in the completely opposite direction and is now literally whiteknighting for Blake, and Winter literally made a collar comment on Marrow in V8.

It doesn't matter if Marrow said it first; having a Schnee do that while kneeling on a Faunus, especially one who's also a dark-skinned man, is so oof I have no idea why the writers can't see it.

A bunch of RT Whiteknights come off as those annoying a-holes on twitter that assume that just because you have a negative thing to say about biden, you’re automatically a trump supporter.

To the RT Whiteknight group, if you have something negative to say, then you’re a hater.

To the bidenbros, if you have something negative to say about biden, tthen you’re a trump supporter. You could say the same thing about trump supporters going in the opposite direction, where any criticism of their guy gets you labeled a commie or something along those lines, but the point still stands:

Neither side are willing to hear you out on what you have to say, and just label you as an enemy without any consideration of the substance of what you have to say.

You could have a four-page essay on the shortcomings and implications of the racism subplot in this show, but because it’s in the rwde tag, those whiteknigts will jump to their precious company’s defense and try to dismiss it as “HTDM.” You could have gotten a goddamn Harvard Professor to look at it and help you out on key points, and you’ll still be the enemy to team SMPS… That’s pronounced “simps” BTW. Since that’s basically what they are.

What's absurd is Heidi didn't need to lie about anything if she wanted to destroy Jared's career. The whole "nudes from fans" game he had was enough. But Heidi just had to throw in this whole story about Jared abusing her, and once that was exposed as a lie, it threw the entire situation - including Jared's blog - into doubt. It's amazing Jared didn't also lie in his explanation video and say "those screenshots are faked and my nudes were leaked from my ex wife" and Heidi's lies cast so much doubt on the story that a lot of people would have believed him. Heidi lying about Jared abusing her also led to us finding out that the opposite was true - Heidi abused Jared and the more she tried to double and triple down on her story, the more she changed details and I can't figure out how anyone still believes her side.

That's the thing, anon, Heidi is a total narcissist. She needs to insert herself into any situation where she can pretend at being a victim. And also, if Heidi just revealed the nude blog Jared had, it definitely would have sunk his career, but like the last anon said, Heidi would have faded off back into being the unremarkable nobody she was before getting married.

As far as why people did and still do believe her, keep in mind by the time we found out Heidi lied, everyone was neck deep into the nudes blog drama, and people equated questioning Heidi's lies as being the same as defending Jared having a nude blog, which next to noone did, by the way, even most of Jared's whiteknights agree that was fucked up. People forgave him like it wasn't a big deal because "it was consenting adults", which I strongly disagree with, but I can't think of anyone that straight up defended him for doing it. So it wasn't really people believing Heidi's story changes, it was more because Heidi and her closer followers deflected to "ignore Heidi's inconsistencies look at how bad Jared is" until the people asking questions left out of frustration and everyone else forgot about the fact that Heidi is telling a different version of events from what she said before. Combine that with the fact that most people really, REALLY don't want to admit to being wrong, so they find it more mentally comfortable to dig their heels in and find ways to believe all versions of Heidi's story are somehow simultaneously true and ignoring any evidence proving them wrong.
