Still Reading Acowar
These are just thoughts I type on my phone as I read. They are informal af but here they are
Page 240: Wouldn’t mind a novella on the weaver and the bone carver. This is the most interested I’ve been
Page 241: The magical mirrors are back
Page 242: “Like calls to like” - getting grisha trilogy vibes
Page 274: Oh this is just grand. So convenient. I’m surprised this wasn’t blamed on a certain someone…
Page 279: My poor baby Mor. You deserve better. Pretty much reading this because of her
Page 258: Oh finally some info on mating that just makes me think what’s the point of mates. Why is it so special & rare if the bond can be rejected or wholly wrong. I’m just really curious since this is such a big factor across both series.
Page 260: Feeling guilt afterward doesn’t excuse or justify the action you take. It still is a choice you made. You don’t get to bypass the consequences or harm inflicted because you feel guilty. Especially if you would make the same choice again. That also begs the question if you really even feel guilty.
Page 310: it sometimes feels as though Feyre was remade into this image of Rhys. Like so much of who he is has rubbed off on her. I have to sort my thoughts on this particular point probably after I finish the book.
Page 315: is Elain like clairvoyant or something?! I bet she is
Page 372: I love Tarquin
Page 401: This is the part of the book I’ve been waiting for & I hope it doesn’t disappoint.
Page 408: I appreciate the diversity we get among the High Lords. That makes me happy
Page 410: A character like Viviane would have been great earlier in the series. Liking her very much so far. How great is her friendship with Mor 🤗
Ngl a few things in this book remind me of the grisha trilogy.
Page 411: The poc has to be the sharp tongue, brutal one 🙄
Page 417: Everything is more entertaining when the High Lords are around especially Tamlin. This book just went up another star for this scene alone
Page 418: Oh Tamlin came to turn shit the fuck up. Things are much more interesting when all the High Lords are around.
If you didn’t hate Tam before you definitely will now
Page 421: this is the only time I actually laughed, really laughed while reading this series. The honor goes to Beron, Mr. High Lord of the Autumn Court. I’m predicting he’ll die by the end of this book & I might shed a tear just for this moment.
Page 422: Why invite Tamlin then be upset when he shows up? Like you sent multiple invites & of course he was going to be salty as hell if he did show up.
Page 423: I’m torn between wanting to slap Tamlin & wanting to hug him for making the story interesting for me.
Page 427: I knew Tamlin’s sole purpose for showing up to this meeting would be to make Rhys look even better. Not complaining just sorta predictable at this point
Page 428: Azriel = Fae of the year. Yasss, kick Eris’s ass
Page 434: I wish we could’ve met Nuan earlier. Definitely interested in learning more about her even though she reminds me of Cinder.
Page 435: As much as I would like Tam to have some sort of redemption. I prefer the salty af version of him. He is throughly more entertaining to read.
Page 439: Beron, Beron, Beron
Page 442: This meeting is just a bunch of males flexing. That was the first decent thing Tam has said in forever.
Page 445: Leave it to the women to get shit done 👏🏾
Page 454: Just watch one of the sons of autumn court turn out to be Helion’s. I’m guessing Lucien since he’s described as having darker skin than his brothers. I can feel it in my bones that I’m right.
Page 456: I was right…
Page 462: I’m pleased that conversation happened between Rhys & Feyre. I have issues with their relationship but I am pleased this happened.
Page 465: I know you’ve been given a lot of shit Tamlin but this is not just Feyre’s fault. Be better man, learn.
Page 469: Sjm doesn’t end relationships she obliterates them. Also there has to be a cost for taking down the wall, right? I really wonder if anyone is actually going to have to pay the price? There always seems to be convenient loopholes in these books concerning the magic.
Finally made it to part three but I’m itching to start the The Raven Boys & so many other books. I’m losing interest again not that the meeting with the High Lords is over and that other thing happened. Will continue later.
