And now, some of my animaniacs headcanons
The studio only managed to capture the Warners by kidnapping one as a bait, and catch the others with a trap. It surprisingly worked really well.
Even if they did escape when the tower needed cleaning, the studio just ended up using the same tactic, and it worked everytime. The Warners just can’t leave each other behind so they always came back. Eventually they just stopped trying to escape.
The Warners didn’t age because toons only age when they’re forgotten, and even if they were just a few people that remembered them, they remembered them very clearly and were deeply scared of them nedjmsinjm.
Toons can only flee from prisons or handcuffs and stuff like that if it’s funny, and not many people found them leaving the tower very funny, they were mostly scared, and so the Warners couldn’t find a situation were they could escape, that is until Spielberg and his crew found their tapes and thought it was hilarious, giving the kids a chance of escaping.
They weren’t captured right away because they were having a new show, but they knew that they were going to try and capture them anyway so they’re were always very careful. They had a looong time to prepare.
Their time on the water tower made them get even closer than they already were. They fought many times but they always made up in the end, so they’re really close now that they’re out.
The Warners didn’t age, so obviously they’re still kids and consider themselves that way (i’m looking at you guys that lust over them, I SEE YOU >:c). But they use their “mysterious” age to annoy people most of the time. “YOU KIDS STOP! NOW!”  “Uuuuh, excuse me we’re older than you, so have a little respect geez”. And then they start acting immature again and they’re like “Ohoho I see, I thought you guys ‘were older than me’ or something, what’s up with that?”  “Excuse me we are just kids??? How dare you use this lame excuse you manipulative prick”  “but--”  “pahpahpah, no buts, I am disgusted >:c”
On Animaniacs, the scenes that happens in Burbank are the scenes that actually happened in the real world, while the songs, the scenes were they’re in the past, or on a fictional world, are part of the Warner’s new show. (an exception would be if they’re the only ones singing just to annoy people lol). I also believe that the episodes where they meet the Grim reaper and the one where they meet the devil actually happened.
The Warners’ skits are heavily improvised, just like the theme says (”..we had no script, why bother to rehearse?”). I’m gonna take the candy store skit as an example: The actor that played the candy seller had on his script - “don’t let the Warners get the candy”. While the Warners had “get the candy” written on theirs. They would create chaos and havoc to get the candy, and just be themselves, and the actor has to deal with it and stay in character at all times (the actors got paid a lot to do this btw mjewdijm).
Sometimes the Warners broke the script a little bit, or just decided to stop with the recording and go home because they weren’t feeling like recording today, without the approval of the studio of course. Like when Dot was feeling unwell and they just decided to rest and skip the cartoon, or when Wakko got tired of having a camera filming him and he just broke the camera and went home.
And sometimes the actors or the people on the town get really fed up with the Warners, like in the song “Schnitzelbank” where the guy got really mad, or they just lose it and the studio has to pay for another therapy again - Like on “Fair game” where I believe the guy just lost it.
The Warners don’t really get any money, and when they do it’s not much, that’s because the studio just uses it to pay for everything they break, or someone’s therapy.
The Warners do consider Scratchy as a father figure in a way, though Scratchy thinks they’re just joking. They also consider Bugs Bunny “a cool uncle”, they like each other a lot.
Yakko is actually scared of thunderstorms, and so gets a bit spooked of fireworks in the middle of nowhere, but he knows they’re not thunders so he’s good most of the time.
Pinky and the Brain were atually trying to take over the world, but no one actually believed them and just thought they loved acting so much that they acted all the time, even if there weren’t any cameras.
Rita and Runt were homeless before joining the crew, now they got a home :) (And are still really close). Their skits are somewhat based on what they actually went trough.
Slappy and Skippy were just recorded all the time because everything they did was gold honestly (still salty they aren’t on the reboot)
Goodfeathers skits are also based on what they actually went trough, they live on the studio but they’re still part of the pidgeon mafia.
Chicken boo is just a weird talented chicken, all the skits are scripted but his ability of disguising as a human is real.
Mindy and Buttons also had scripted skits, but Mindy’s parents still suck and get all the money. Oh well, she has Buttons anyway :).
The Hippos, Minerva mink, and Katie Kaboom also had scripted skits.
Going back to the Warners now, they were the ones that wrote their movie, they were really proud of it but later they thought it was too melodramatic.
After the cancellation of their show, the Warners were afraid that they would try and lock them in the tower again, so they went on the run and were laying low all of those years, the studio were indeed searching for them and trying to put them on the tower. They didn’t really have time to get acostumed, or to even notice with how things changed since the 90s because they were just on the streets. (made this headcanon because they apparently weren’t locked away again, and I don’t think the reboot will explain were the hell they were).
They appeared again when Spielberg said that he wanted to reboot the series, they were very happy.
Hello Nurse got a better job after the cancelation so she wasn’t bothered at all that the studio didn’t want her on the show anymore
All of the characters got great lives after the show to be honest. Except Pinky and the Brain I guess, who were still on the laboratory and failing to take over the world. They gladly accepted to go back to the show.
The Warners learned that reboots have a tendency of not being so good, but they didn’t really care to be honest, they could stop running away now and that’s what really matters.
Aaaand I think that’s it for now ewmisam. I will probably have more in the future and some will probably change because of the reboot too.

The Coffee Shop AU idea I mentioned once but never elaborated on:
Hey, so I guess I’m finally talking about this here! A while back, I made this headcanon about what Yakko would do as a Starbucks barista, and somehow this became and au, and an idea for a fic. It’s an older au, and includes characters from Disney shows as well (eg Ducktales 2017 and A Goofy Movie), but this post will mainly focus on the Warners, their roles, and some explanation/backstory. So, without further ado, here we go.
FAQs and quick things to Preface this
How much older are the Warners?
They (along with the characters in the Disney media I’m using) are all 4 years older than they are in the canon show (or whatever piece of media is used from the canon)
Why do the Warners have such mundane jobs?
The idea is that after the show, in an attempt to cut ties with them, the studio aged the Warners up. They continued to let them live in the watertower, but under the condition that they paid rent, which led to the starting point of this au.
Will other Animaniacs characters be included?
Hopefully they will. I really want to include Pinky and the Brain, but I have no idea what they will do just yet.
Did you come up with nicknames for this AU?
Yep!! Yakko’s is Espresso, Wakko’s is Shortstack, and Dot’s is Plume.
The coffee shop sounds like a big deal. Does it have a name?
It’s name is Moonbills café (not to be confused with one Starbucks coffee)
Aside from the Ducks and the Goofs, what other Disney characters will be included?
You shall find out soon. But in the meantime, let’s talk more about the Warners.
Yakko
He hasn’t changed much, but working at a coffee shop has definitely made him more irritable, more tired, and more blunt. He’s figuring out what he wants to do next, and whether or not he truly wants to give up entertaining now that this leg of the journey is over. He probably gets multiple customers who recognize him, and he’d occasionally humor them by saying a catchphrase, or singing some kind of song, whether it be older or on the spot. While that is the case, he’s also dealt with his fair share of Karens (which is one of the main reasons he gets increasingly frustrated), but he has his ways of dealing with them. He definitely hates the job (to the point of refusing to actually purchase the goods there), but he’s grown pretty close with his co-workers.
Wakko
For a while after the show ends and Yakko starts working at the café, Wakko and Dot are pretty much left to their own devices. At first the two just go out and explore Burbank, but at the realization that what Yakko’s making won’t be enough to pay rent and to buy necessities, Wakko starts to go and look for a job too, eventually working various jobs at a local library. He makes friends with another co-worker around his age, and ends up really enjoying working there, especially when being placed in charge of event programming for the kids’ section and activities. I’m still developing his story, but more will be added as I go on.
Dot
Like with Wakko, I’m still developing the details for Dot’s part in the story. Essentially, the ending of the show, and her older brothers both working jobs is something tough on her, since she and Wakko have so many mutual friends, and she’s too young to work a job like her brothers by a hair. Because of those, she ends up looking towards certain outlets for stress, specifically going back to writing poetry. It becomes something really comforting for her, and Yakko eventually organizes open mic nights at the café, so she can read these poems, also providing a feeling of comfort as it reminded her of the poetry corner segments.
Conclusion
That’s all I’m sharing for this introductory post that’s been a few months in the making. Maybe I’ll put chapters of the fic up here, and maybe I’ll make a specific blog for it, but who knows? I’ll just say there’s definitely more to come

I don't know how much i can endure this - Yakko
“Yakko I don’t wanna go,” Dot complained, pulling on her itchy and puffy black dress that was just a little too tight.
“We all have to go, Dot, it’s not up to us,” Yakko sighed, adjusting the bow tying her ears together.
“But this dress itchessss,” she whined, tugging on the sleeves.
“You’re going to stretch it out if you keep that up,” Yakko warned.
“Why do we have to go?” Dot continued with her complaining.
“Because Grandma said so, and what grandma tells us to do now... we have to,” Yakko glanced at his younger brother who was leaning against the wall and not facing them.
“Why?” Dot asked.
“Because mom and dad can’t help us anymore,” Yakko sighed, taking her hand and walking towards Wakko. Wakko muttered something under his breath.
Thankfully, Dot didn’t ask “why” again.
“You ready?” Yakko asked Wakko.
“Yeah,” Wakko said. Yakko rolled his eyes, noticing his brother’s shirt was buttoned all wrong.
“Grandma would kill you if she saw you like this,” Yakko sighed, fixing it. Wakko muttered yet again.
“What on earth are you muttering about?” Yakko shot him a look.
“Nothing... nothing,” Wakko looked away. The older prince sighed. He really didn’t have the energy for this.
Then again, he could hardly say he had the energy for anything anymore. The most sleep he had gotten the past four days was when he got knocked out by the assassins. Other than that, he was unable to sleep, the words of his mom ringing in his head.
“Let him go! It’s me you want, not him!”
He shivered.
“Let’s just get going... the sooner it’s over, the better,” Yakko said, offering a hand to Dot and Wakko. Dot took it, but Wakko crossed his arms.
They carried on.
“Ready, you three?” Their grandmother asked, making that the fourth thing she had said to them since the day after the attack.
She still hadn’t taken off that stupid thick black veil.
“As we’ll ever be,” Yakko said, giving Dot’s hand a squeeze.
Slowly, the grand doors to the overcast courtyard opened, and Yakko’s eyes quickly went to the two caskets.
“Who’s in there?” Dot pointed as they went to their spot, which Yakko quickly made her put down.
“Not mum and dad,” Wakko mumbled, and Yakko gave him a look as their grandmother went to the podium.
“My people, we are gathered here today to do something no mother should ever have to go through. Today, we honor and mourn the memory of my only child, Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the Second, and her husband, Sir William the Good,” She said, her voice cold and numb to the ears.
Yakko felt a wave of anger wash over him. She had no right to speak in that way.
She hired the assassins. She wanted them dead and gone. It was all her fault.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am forced to retain my throne until my grandson, Prince Yakko, is of age,” she gestured to him. He didn’t know what to do, so he just nodded, trying not to let his rage consume him, allowing the numbness to take over once more.
He wasn’t sure how much longer he could endure this.
His grandmother continued on with her speech, but Yakko paid it no mind, his eyes stuck on the empty caskets.
Wakko was right, his parents weren’t in them. Nobody told them why, but Yakko was smart enough to realize that just meant the assassins either burned them, threw them in a river somewhere, or buried them in the middle of the woods somewhere far, far away.
In some sense, Yakko was glad the caskets were empty. He wasn’t sure if he had it in him to look upon the dead faces of his mother and father, and he was much more sure that seeing that wouldn’t be good for Wakko or Dot.
“Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and heavier is the heart of one who has lost a child,” he heard her say.
Yakko growled, but controlled himself, burying the anger deep within himself.
Eventually, she was done, and other, more boring people spoke. There was a song and Yakko really wanted nothing more in the world than for this to end so he could go back into his room and be alone for just a moment, not standing in front of thousands feeling empty and hollow and numb.
The queen chose to stand on the opposite side of the podium than the trio of children. She had been distant ever since the attack. Yakko suspected that was likely to change very soon, but for now he was grateful. The last thing he wanted to deal with was her complaining that Dot was crying too loud.
Poor Dot... she was still too young to really understand what death was, no matter how Yakko tried to explain. All she knew was that they were gone, and they weren’t coming back. At first she thought it was because they abandoned them, but Yakko was quick to explain they’d never do that to them. After that though, she started looking around corners for them, expecting them to be there any minute...
Every night, Dot would wake up and start crying for them, but they never came. Instead, Yakko could come in and take Dot to his and Wakko’s room, and he’d cuddle with her until she fell back asleep.
It helped him with his nightmares too.
“Yakko, we’re going, it’s over,” Wakko said, snapping his older brother back into reality.
“Right, yes,” Yakko shook his head, taking Dot’s hand again, and they all went to the great hall for refreshments, though Yakko hardly had the appetite.
However, Wakko did have the appetite, so he stayed anyway, though he was unfortunately placed right next to his grandmother, looking evermore cold and blank behind that veil. He could hardly make out where her eyes were, until she looked at him, then he looked away.
“It’s rude to stare at a woman in mourning,” She said.
“Mourning my ass,” Yakko thought. He was so done pretending to care about her.
“Sorry,” he said instead. Knowing the new lengths she was willing to go to to get rid of people and things she didn’t like reminded him to keep his mouth shut.
“That brother of yours is causing a racket. Fix it,” She waved her hand at him, and Yakko looked for Wakko and whatever racket he was supposedly causing, but all he was him and a few other random boys lauhging and playing a game in the corner. Yakko frowned.
“I don’t see what the matter is?” He scratched his head.
“This is a funeral, boy, you aren’t supposed to be playing games,” She seethed, and Yakko left without a word, sensing her anger.
“Wakko, c’mon,” Yakko went to his brother.
“What? I’m in the middle of a-”
“Now.” Yakko snapped, stepping out into the hall. Wakko quickly followed.
“What did I do this time?” Wakko asked as the door closed behind him.
“This is a funeral, Wakko, you can’t be playing games with strangers,” Yakko pointed out. “Or did you forget why we’re wearing these black uncomfortable outfits?”
“I didn’t forget,” Wakko rolled his eyes.
“Oh yeah? Because it really seems like you have,” Yakko stepped forward angrily. Wakko blinked, not understanding where this anger was coming from.
“W-well... it’s not my fault it doesn’t actually feel like a funeral. I-i mean seriously Yakko, they didn’t even find their bodies,” Wakko crossed his arms.
“Wakko... they’re dead whether you like it or not,” Yakko said, feeling a lump in his throat.
“No,” Wakko shook his head. “I don’t believe it. If they were dead, they’d’ve been in those boxes.”
“Wakko, i know i-it hurts, but-”
“but no! They aren’t dead! Th-they can’t be dead b-because if they were-” Wakko paused from his shouting.
“I-if they were...”
“It’d be my fault...”
Yakko blinked. “Wh-what?”
“I-it was my idea to run i-in the garden a-and I ran through the flower b-bed and I tracked in the mud, a-and she took me to the tower a-and Dad broke me out a-and grandma g-got mad at mum a-and th-then everything was b-bad a-and n-now they’re gone,” Wakko shouted, a waterfall of tears streaming down his face.
“Wakko, that isn’t true,” Yakko was mortified.
“If they’re dead it’s my fault, it’s true,” Wakko didn’t listen, shaking his head and closing his eyes tightly, putting his hands on his head. Yakko quickly hugged him.
“It’s not your fault Wakko,” He stroked his head.
“It’s my fault- I’m such a screw up,” he continued to cry.
“Wakko, you are not a screw up and you are not an idiot,” Yakko adamantly denied.
“Th-then why are they gone?” Wakko looked up at him, tears still pouring. Yakko bit his lip.
He could tell them. He knew why, he had seen the letter.
But that would make them angry, and anger would cause them to lash out at the queen, which could get them hurt or far, far worse.
“Because evil people decided to hurt them,” Yakko sighed. “I’m sorry, there’s nothign more to it than that.”
“I’ll kill them,” Wakko sniffled and buried his head in Yakko’s shirt.
“I know Wakko, I know,” Yakko patted his head. For a long moment, the warner brothers remained in their embrace.
“S-so... they’re really... dead?” Wakko glanced up.
“Y-yeah... they’re really dead, Wakko.” He paused, before adding, “I’m so sorry.”
Wakko sniffled. “You don’t need to be sorry, it’s not your fault either.”
Yakko hesitated at that.  It made sense, of course, but.. he sighed.
“Worrying yourself to death isn’t going to do any of us any good.” His mother’s voice reminded.
“Yeah... you’re right,” He sighed. “There’s no point in guilt anyway. We’ll just... have to move on.”
“...I miss them,” Wakko whispered.
“I miss them too Wak, but they’re gone, and there’s nothing we can do expect move on, okay?”
Wakko slowly nodded.
“Okay...”
.o0o.
“We’re almost there, I promise.”
THey had traveled for goodness knew how long, ignoring the stings, the rips, the sprains that burned throughout their bodies as they trudged through the snow.
Of all of the years for it to snow early, did it have to be this one?
Well, then again, the snow had been their savior, the ice caused their carriage to overturn.
That didn’t mean they weren’t injured in their escape, one was barely holding on as it was.
“We’re almost there.” the stronger of the two repeated.
“I-i can’t. It hurts too much,” they nearly collapsed into the snow, had it not been for the other catching them.
“Just a little bit further, please,” The stronger pleaded. The weaker shook their head.
“I’m not leaving you here.”
“They need you.”
“You don’t think they need you too?”
A pause.
“I’ll carry you.”
“Y-you can’t-”
“I can and I will-”
“Your arm-”
“I don’t care,” The stronger made their decision. They braced themselves, and with tremendous effort, picked up their dying partner, and continued trudging through the snow.
Slowly but surely a small town swelled on the horizon.
They had made it.
They carried on as fast as they could manage, ignoring the flairing pain shooting through their entire body when finally, they arrived.
With their free hand they pounded on the door. Shuffling noises came from behind, and eventually, a familiar curvy blonde woman answered the door.
“Dr Scratchnsniff’s Office, how can I- William?! Princess? What on earth are you two doing in Acme Falls? What happened?”
“We’ve had one hell of a week.” William responded, before collasping onto his knees, and passing out.

Family & Bonds AU Headcanons
I an dabbling in a couple of AU’s currently. Primarily what I have posted is a Family and Bonds AU titled....Family Bonds. (original. v crafty. wow.) Anyway, lengthy post under the cut.
I shifted the family tree from Bonds in order to accommodate the incredible characters designed by middlewarnersibling in Family to be the Warner trio's parents, and I love that story line for them.
In Bonds, it seemed odd that Bosko would some how not notice his lover's aging or just how she managed to keep all three kids a secret, but I figured, one was totally possible and that one child was Slakko, their father from Family. So it goes like this:
Oswald and Ortensia have a daughter named Odelia.
Odelia has an affair with Bosko Warner
Culminating in middlewarnersibling’s character Slakko Warner. Odelia still never tells Bosko and before the baby arrives, Bosko’s bleeding heart brother, Kokko offers to marry Odelia so the baby at least appears “legit.”
So Kokko becomes the Warner trio’s legal grandfather.
According to Family, Slakko meets Ophelia, a cat toon who sings and dances. They hook up and reluctantly wind up in a shotgun marriage and eventually all three kids are born.
Yakko is approx 5-6 years older than Dot and 3 years older than Wakko, putting him solidly in the middle.
Their birthdays are all in different seasons; I have decided Dot is mid-late June, Wakko is early October and Yakko is January, so their age gap gets all wonky at certain times of the year.
Babs and Buster were actually about 14/15 respectively at the launch of Tiny Toon Adventures which makes them both a couple years Yakko's senior.
I also think it makes for an excellent joke about Yakko always gunning for older women.
(For future reference, yes this makes Buster a solid 7 years older than Dot.)
The rest of the primary Tiny Toons crew is pretty much on par with the exception of Hampton and Dizzy who I headcanon as younger by about a yearish.
(Why yes, Yakko and Dot both have deep seated parental trauma, why do you ask? Wakko does too but it uh....comes out in a different way.)
I headcanon an interesting arch for Slakko which involves something of redemption? In Bonds while Bosko is on the hunt for the Warners he finds this other Warner and decides to see if he has any information. Slakko is living alone in a bit of a shite apartment and mostly keeps to himself and has been ok at staying out of bigger trouble. So when Bosko and his boys arrive at his door he's suspicious and ready to make it a fight if he has to. But there isn't much of a fight; Bosko demands to know where the trio is, Slakko honestly has no idea but Bosko doesn't believe him. The weasels and whomever else Bosko brought as his cronies beat the shit out of him but he holds true to his story.
So Bosko finally believes him. More or less. He doesn't want to have to come back here so he decides to make sure that Slakko can't ever 'see' his children again and has whomever's with him hold him down and burn his eyes with dip. So Slakko's left blinded, injured and probably should be dead but he's not.
Yakko remembers that his folks hardly ever reported an injury or used a hospital unless they absolutely had to. So, close to the end of the show Yakko finds out his father actually used medical services and decides to figure out how to get himself listed as an emergency contact. Not that he intended to ever come to assist but more so that he can make sure to be notified of anything particularly fatal. In Family, he lamented that he never got to say goodbye to their mother and as much as he disagrees with him, Yakko never wants to miss that chance again. So, post Bonds, he ends up finding out about Slakko's sudden blindness and discreetly, not to the knowledge of Slakko or his sibs, decides to help out. Just this once, is Yakko's reasoning.
Um....some cute things I headcanon....
I kept Wakko's diabetes....not cute but like, it's more light hearted than that other stuff tbh
Also not 100% cute: Babs continues to go to therapy to address things like depression and PTSD but it takes some....convincing for Yakko to see someone again. Especially after being made to on the lot. But after a particularly bad night he agrees to give it a shot.
Basically, they coax each other through episodes and have learned to spot when they're each using coping mechanisms in harmful ways and call each other out on it. They make a fantastic team.
They also don’t totally shy away from the conversations with their daughters. They introduce what’s appropriate and with their age gap that can be tricky.
They both also have a very....interesting time being parents early on. Babs is waiting to see if she'll feel what her mother must have felt that made her leave them in a huff and Yakko's struggling to come to terms with the fact that there was nothing wrong with him, his father just never wanted them. Basically they're looking for when another shoe will drop but it won't because they don't just love their kid, they wanted them.
They got to make a choice their parents didn't.
I do have fankids for Babs and Yakko, both girls, both named after powerful women in art and history. Lucille Ophelia and Jacqueline Madeline. (If any of you know the Madeline namesake I will be impressed AF)
Lucille very strictly goes by Lu, call her Lucy and you die (unless you're Wakko. This kid plays favorites and he is it.) and she is a handful of a teenager. Sharp tongued and sharp witted.
Jackqueline, or Jackie, is 5 years younger and is so naive and sweet it hurts and she is Daddy's Girl capital D. Yes, at first they figured she was just masterful at the cuteness game like Dot was but as it turns out, she's got that Wakko style innocence.
Babs jokes that she's clearly actually Wakko's kid. (There is absolutely no possible way for that to be true. Which is why it's funny instead of suspicious.)
They have both watched Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures and just to piss off her dad, Lu says Tiny Toons is her favorite.
Skippy, like Dot, had a dance focus and so, in a few years' time, she's gonna run into him on the set of a music video. That'll be fun!
Babs and Yakko have pissed of more than one director for going off on what appear to be essentially joke tangents but it's actually the two of them attempting to out do each other until there's a clear winner. They are both spotlight hogging, competitive lil shits.
It's Babs' idea for Wakko to try fronting the band he's in and his bandmate get stupidly jealous and steals his girl....oops.
Dot is stupidly beautiful and very much lovable (wow. shocking.) And some poor poor blue bunny is gonna fall face first into a sitcom level affair....and since he can't tell either of his best bros about it he ends up drunkenly calling Babs who just laughs her ass off the whole time.
Yakko can play chess in his head. Like...he doesn't need the board. He can just keep track of the pieces. (Honestly, having to be so damn smart is a complex brought on the physical and verbal abuse from his father.)
Wakko....honestly, as smart as he can be and as righteous as he is, he has that Warner independence streak something bad after touring. He tries a bit much and ends up starting a fight with someone and long story short, he's caught with that twink stuff from Family (unfortunate name tbh basically, think crack.)
Yakko is obviously beside himself and Dot is more or less oblivious as she's at university at this point. Basically, shit hits the fan and the brothers split.
Dot tries to keep in touch with Wakko but he severs the connection from both his sibs.
Wakko does get clean. He also falls in love with a remarkable human toon named Jesse.
He’s also still friends with Foghorn, who is actually a pretty great support in all of this.
I headcanon Wakko as demi homosexual.
Much to her own surprise, Babs LOVES being a mom.
Yakko struggles with partnership. A lot of what goes into being a parent are things he’s already experienced and he has a hard time NOT being a know it all and actually partnering with his wife....it’s a fun dynamic.
Yakko also still has a crush on Max Goof that he SWORE he was over but after seeing him at random very much IS NOT.
It's not just Wakko making horrible choices btw. Sorry this was meant to be the cute stuff....uh....
Both Yakko and Wakko walk with their sister at her wedding (told you things will circle back!)

-dot: queen of swords
-(look em up)anyways
-yakko started working at that starbucks in that target at the age of 16
-he really enjoyed it there. the chaos reminded him vaguely of the movie lot and keeping his mind busy was nice
-the transition from “I do what I fucking want” to “yes ma’am right away” was difficult, it got him written up a couple times
-he was so good at his job that his boss couldn’t fire him
-now that he transferred into the store it’s less chaotic but he can have more time with a customer
-he actually likes helping elderly customers, they have so many questions and he has a lot of answers (and patience)
-he gets along pretty well with Shawn and playfully flirts with him. shawn is straight but he still jokes about running away with yakko
-shawn and annalise are very happy together, despite their vast differences. it’s actually annalise’s first healthy relationship
-yakko called annalise “Lisa” the first time he met her but then switched to “Annie bannanie” after seeing the face she made at the nickname
-“I got ᵘᵘᵘᵘʰʰʰʰʰ a venti mango dragonfruit with lemonade for ANNIE BANNANIE”
-annalise doesn’t really like teenagers but her education in psychology is changing that. yakko changed that too. she took it upon herself to keep tabs on him when he first started working at target. now they’re good friends.
-its still 2 years away but she’s planning things for yakkos 21st birthday
-when the 2 younger sibs started school they texted each other during class to make sure they were okay
-wakko immediately wanted to join orchestra, playing violin, naturally
-he met charlie in this class, she plays the flute. wakko noticed her after she let out a well timed belch after a piece
-wakko met astro in algebra 2. they both have an interest in a particular band and bonded over that
-charlie and astro share classes together and that’s how they know each other
-despite his grades, wakko adapted really well to going to school. as stated in the main fic, school becomes his escape from home when things are hard
-dot, on the other hand, is not such a big fan. classes are boring and her teachers are mean.
-however dance class is fun, and she got to participate in the homecoming parade, and that’s where she met chessie, who also took dance
-dot also adores her dance teacher, miss mercer (it’s my other oc, aria uwu)(idk if y’all will ever meet her tho)
-miss mercer can pass off as a student she looks so young and shes short af, but shes really cool and youthful and you can tell she loves her job, and that’s why dot loves her
-dot makes sure to stand in the very front of the class when they’re doing warm ups and learning new routines for the winter recital
-the winter recital was really exciting, dot got to stand in the front for her class’s dance and she heard her brothers cheering for her from the audience
-miss Mercer told dot that she has potential to join the dance team, and you bet your patootie she’s gonna audition at the end of the year
✨and now some hc’s for my oc’s, annalise and bella✨
-they each have their own respective fics,,,,,i created them for other fandoms 😅 bellas origin story is here, and annalises is here 🙂
-you don’t have to read them but both fics exist in the same universe, and it’s different from the one in this fic!
-anyways (pt2)
-annalise doesn’t really talk to her parents. she’ll see them on their birthdays and holidays but overall,,,,meh
-Bella hadn’t spoken to any of her relatives in years,,,,it’s a sensitive topic
-while bella isn’t an alt girl, she does follow the colorful hair/bold makeup/gamer boyfriend trope ☺️ (and if you peeped at her origin story [third installment] you know Who that bf is)
-annalise is a goth but her bf is “normal” bc that’s the relationship dynamic she saw growing up. so it stuck with her.
-she is the one who introduced dot to little mix, but Bella introduced annalise to them 🤣 you think a goth is gonna find a pop group on her own??
-oh and ann n bella are bisexual 🥰 and yakko is too 💖💜💙
-anyways ann and yakko try to get their lunch breaks at the same time to hang out
-Annalise has picked up the little ones from school a couple times
✨and now thing that were originally supposed to happen but didn’t✨
-in chapter 6 when it’s mentioned that dot spent the night with annalise while wakko was in the hospital?? yeah there was supposed to be a deep, profound, but nice conversation between them but a bitch fuckin forgot the dialogue 🙃
-I was originally going to have Ann’s n Bella’s roles swapped in this fic. Bella was going to be the Human Best Friend to yakko. she’s quiet and he’s loud and it would have been quite the dynamic
-I don’t know what happened tbh. I think Annie bannanie popped into my head first.
-this fic was supposed to take place around october or november but I knew I wanted dot’s birthday in there somewhere AND i wanted her star sign to be aries so it just ended up being late march
-and bc of that she’s accidentally a year older than I planned. so she is one year apart from wakko and 4 years from yakko. oopsie whoopsie
-and finally, the one I’m most 😤 abt bc I’m a dumbass who FORGOT TO WRITE IT IN
-in chapter 12 when yakko comes home he was meant to dig thru the cabinet n eat goldfish crackers (iykyk)

Chapter 2 of my OC fic is up! Here’s the link to it on ao3 if you wanna read it there!
CH 2:
He was done.
Alan had finally finished them. He stared down at his three creations and smiled.
They came out better than he expected. They looked like… well, teenagers. It’s just as his boss had wanted.
The first one to be completed was Yakko’s replacement.
Rather than the simple outfit the oldest Warner was known for, this kid had been completely changed. Alan wanted him to be able to appeal to a teen audience, so he gave him a more punk aesthetic and aged him up two years.
He wore a purple leather jacket with a lavender long-sleeve shirt underneath. He had gray jeans that were torn at the knees as well. His ears were pierced too with two earrings on each of his long ears.
The second one was Wakko’s replacement. Alan aged him up as well to be fifteen. He decided to completely do a one eighty with this one. Wakko’s was the hardest to do with his personality being a complete wacky mess, so Alan took that out and made him a bit more refined. He also made him the tallest of the three because he felt that it fit his personality more.
This one wore a red vest with a white button up underneath and beige khakis.
Finally, there was Dot’s replacement. She was pretty easy to do.
Alan kept all her cute traits, but made her more tomboyish and aged her up to be thirteen. She wore blue overalls and a light green t-shirt. She wore earrings like the first one except she only wore one on each ear.
It wasn’t long before the animator got them animated and talking.
Thankfully, they all seemed pretty tranquil compared to their predecessors. They didn’t talk too much either.
Well, except for the oldest, but that was to be expected. He was loosely based on the Warner that yaks.
He sat the three toons down on his couch, so he could explain how their meeting with Nora would go.
“Alright,” he finally said, standing in front of them, “tomorrow is a big day for all of us. I just want to prepare you all-”
“You finally gonna cut that man ponytail of yours?” The oldest asked with a smirk.
The taller one snickered.
“W-what? No…” Alan reached back and ran his hand through his hair self-consciously. “I meant-”
“Don’t be mean, Zach,” the young girl said.
Zach, the oldest, looked down at her. He rolled his eyes. “What? That’s what we were all thinking, right?” He nudged his brother.
The other tried to keep a straight face. “No,” he lied.
Alan sighed, ignoring the last comment. “Look, I need you three to take this seriously. Tomorrow we’re meeting up with Ms. Norita, the CEO of Warner Brothers studios. I need her to find you three likeable enough to land you a show. I also need you three to be on your best behavior, okay?”
“‘Course we will,” Zach stated. “We’re little angel’s, aren’t we sibs?” He put an arm around his sister. “Button here is probably the best behaved we got.”
Button tensed up a little and pushed a stand of hair from her face. “Uh… mhm.” She nodded shyly.
Zach crossed his legs and leaned back on the couch. “Besides, I think we’re pretty likable little bastards.”
The tall one who was sitting on the end of the couch perked up his ears. “Who are you calling a bastard, you idiot?”
“It was a joke, Jack. Relax,” Zach told him.
“It’s Jackson,” the other corrected.
Alan rubbed his temples. “I’m being serious! You three need to get it together and act normal!”
Button tilted her head. “But we are normal, aren’t we Papa?”
Alan froze.
He wasn’t quite sure how to respond to that.
He shook his head. “D-don’t call me that.” He gave an audible sigh. “I- I mean, just try to act as though you’re not cartoon characters. I just want you all to stay quiet while I do the talking. That’s it.”
The three of them looked at each other.
Zach looked up at Alan. “So, what’s in it for us if we do this, Pops?”
“Stop that,” Alan said. “I’m not your dad. I just made you to—”
“So should we call you mum then?” Jackson asked jokingly.
The other two laughed.
“Stop it!” Alan snapped. “I’m being serious here!”
The three of them stared up at him. The oldest still had a smile on his face. Alan leaned in closer to him.
“Okay Mr. Funny Guy,” he said, “you think this is some kind of joke?”
He looked down at his fingernails as though they were far more interesting than what the older man had to say. “I mean, with that look on your face, I’d say so.”
Alan shook his head. “Oh, I bet you’ll be laughing when they lock you three in the water tower for sixty years, won’t you?”
The animator had an idea. He just had to give them a little scare to set these kids straight.
Zach looked up, but Button was the one to speak. “The… the what?” She asked in a soft voice.
“The Warner Brothers water tower,” Alan explained. “That’s where they trapped your predecessors. After they acted out of line, that’s where they were stuck.”
Button brought her knees closer to her and hugged them. “Th-that can’t be true. They were just kids, w-weren’t they?”
“Yup. Younger than you three even. The executives don’t care. They’ll get rid of you at the drop of a hat and leave you for dead if any of you step out of line.”
Button circle closer to Zach, who put an arm around her.
Jackson spoke up this time. “That… They won’t do that to us… will they? I mean, we haven’t done anything yet.” He crossed his arms tightly around his chest.
Alan gave them an exaggerated shrug. “I wouldn’t put it past them.” He looked at the oldest. “So, is it still funny to you?”
A dog-like whimper escaped the teen. “Uh, not when you put it like that… sir.”
“Good. So, you’ll be good tomorrow?”
The three of them nodded quickly.
“Excellent! It’ll all be fine as long as you three do as you're told.”
-
“Alright Harris, you better have something good for me.”
Nora sat at her desk and gave him an intense stare. She had her hands clasped together and firmly in front of her on the desk. She was prepared for whatever Alan had to present for better or worse. Hopefully, for his sake, it was for the better.
Alan straightened his tie and smoothed his unkempt hair back. He took in a deep breath and smiled.
Dear god, he hoped these kids were going to be good enough. He was really scared of losing his job over this. Or worse… he couldn’t think of what could be worse in that moment, but there was probably something worse that could happen!
He was sweating like crazy. His hands were damp as he clasped them together.
Come on Al, he told himself, they’re great. You got this.
He cleared his throat.
“I-I do, Ms. Norita! There were a few inconveniences, a-and it took a lot of work to get them right, but-”
“Just get on with it, Harris,” she said sternly, checking her watch. “I have other meetings, you know.”
“Yes!” He blurted out. He cleared his throat again. “Uh, yes. Now, let me introduce you to my new Animaniacs. They’re just out here.”
He opened the door and motioned for his toons to enter the office.
Zach, Jackson, and Button entered the room. They stood up with their backs straight, trying to look as best they could.
Nora pushed up her glasses and stared skeptically. They certainly were… something.
The drastically different designs intrigued the CEO though. She was curious to see where this was going.
Alan stepped behind them and smiled nervously.
“Now, they aren’t exactly the Warners siblings,” he explained. “When making them, I kind of intended to separate them from their successors.” He cleared his throat nervously. “S-So, they’re more like replacements than actual reboots of the characters-”
“I don’t care,” Nora interrupted. “Just tell me about their personalities. Are they going to appeal to our modern audience?”
“I hope so,” Alan muttered to himself.
“What was that?”
“I-I said I’m sure of it!”
“That’s a lot of stuttering for someone so sure,” Zach commented. He covered his mouth immediately.
Alan gave him a look.
Nora raised an eyebrow. “And who are you?” She asked.
Zach glanced up at Alan quickly. “Uh…”
He gave him a nod to answer.
“Zachery, Zach for short. I’m the oldest sibling,” he said, taking a few steps forward.
Nora looked him up and down. “Interesting…” She stood up and walked around her desk to him. “Tell me a bit about yourself, kid.”
“I’m… I guess I’m the leader. And I follow orders pretty well too. I’m pretty smart and… yeah…” He put his hands in his pockets and kicked the ground softly.
“Hobbies?”
“Lady, I was literally born yesterday. What the hell do you want from me?” He told her.
Dammit Zach, Alan thought.
She put her hands on her hips and pursed her lips. “What about your siblings?”
Zach took one hand out of his pocket and pointed to his sister. “That’s Button. She’s the cute one.” He pointed to Jackson. “And that’s my younger brother, Jack. He’s more of the quiet one. Got a bit of a temper too.”
“Do not!” Jackson exclaimed. “And it’s Jackson!”
“Pl-please stop,” Button said softly.
The CEO held up a hand to silence everyone. “I think I’ve seen enough.”
Everyone went silent. All eyes were on her.
She brought out her cell phone and dialed a few things. She looked through a few things and finally looked up.
“I think they’ll do nicely.”
Alan’s eyes widened. “W-wait, you mean it?”
“I don’t play games, Harris,” she said. “According to statistics, teenagers and young adults are into the whole relatability aspect of characters, and the sibling bickering and sarcastic nature is just what we need. The emo look is in too.” She pulled on Zach’s left ear and released it. “With a few good writers and a bit of acting, these three can make us a quick buck.”
She pressed a few more things on her phone. “I’ll order a pilot episode,” she continued. “We’ll get a few test screenings and have a script ready to go by… as soon as next month!”
“S-so we’re not getting locked in the water tower?” Button spoke up.
Nora shook her head. “Wha— No, of course not! You three are going to bring in some good money. As long as you don’t cause chaos like the Warners, you three should be fine.”
The three of them loosened up.
Zach sighed. He turned to his siblings. Button ran up to him and wrapped her arms around him. He ran a hand through her hair and pulled her close.
Jackson had a smile on his face. He turned to Alan. “We did it Pa!” Jackson stopped. “Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
Alan put an arm around him. “You know what? I don’t mind right now.” He was too relieved to care what they called him.
He was just glad he’d get to keep his job.
And the kids were glad they weren't going to be shut inside a water tower for sixty years.
Still, for one of them, it lingered in the back of his mind.He was scared of what would become of them if this pilot didn’t do well.
And rightfully so.

"I didn't mean to hurt anyone," wakko?
Wakko never thought of himself as a worrier. He always held out hope that somehow, someway everything would work out- that Good would prevail and Evil would fall. He believed with all his heart it was his and his sibling’s destiny to defeat Salazar. He knew Dot was going to get better, and that Yakko would finally be able to relax for more than just five minutes.
However... being on his own for the first time challenged that.
He had taken the baker’s advice and went straight to the apprenticeship with the blacksmith. It had been excruciatingly difficult, and Wakko put a lot of blood sweat, and tears into the work he did. He had been revolted to find out that he was only paid a ha’penny a week. Sending letters had cost at least three ha’pennies so by the end of week one, he had had to get crafty.
He ‘borrowed’ paper from the blacksmith and wrote as neat and concise as he could manage before putting in the one ha’penny and the letter in an envelope (also ‘borrowed’ from the blacksmith) and snuck it into the mailman’s bag when he wasn’t looking. As for how he got food, he would take a piece of fruit or bread from the man when he wasn’t looking.
It wasn’t easy to do though, the blacksmith was a good person; he was stoic and old, hardly ever talked, except the occasional warning to Wakko that he shouldn’t touch or eat something, despite how delicious it looked. He was patient, though at the same time very distant. It was hard for Wakko to read him.
However, Wakko had gotten too comfortable too fast, as he had gotten caught stealing the blacksmith’s food and he fired him, said it was “a betrayal of his trust”. His words had stung Wakko, and he left without fighting, but not without taking a few pieces of paper and envelopes- Yakko and Dot would kill him if he didn’t write.
The letters.
Wakko thought he would love writing them, but it got harder and harder the more time passed. Wakko embellished how he was doing a lot, but he could tell Yakko wasn’t being entirely honest either. His words were fancy and he tended to dance around questions Wakko had asked. Wakko wished he had the energy and paper to argue with him, but he didn’t. He hated being lied to, but they quite literally couldn’t afford to bring it up.
After he got fired, he wandered and worked as an errand boy for a senile, but wealthy woman. He didn’t like it though- she was rude and she constantly spat on him, or hit him with her cane, which left him with nasty bruises.
He was almost thankful when she dropped dead one day.
He stole as much silverware, stamps, papers, and envelopes as he could fit into his hat before he alerted anyone of what had happened.
Still- seeing a corpse hadn’t been... pleasant.
It reminded him that, yes, death was a thing and was inescapable and could happen to his little sister at any moment while he was gone.
Needless to say, he did his best not to dwell on that, and sold all of the silverware as soon as possible and gave almost all the money to Yakko in the letter he wrote.
That should help delay Death for a while... hopefully, Yakko could buy her a new blanket, or a shawl. She always got so cold in the winter with just her skirt.
Wakko then went to work as a berry picker at the farm of an old cat couple with a few other children his age, though none of them liked talking. However, he only worked there for the month of May because he had gotten fired once they found out he had been eating more berries than he turned in. Wakko was hungry, and the farmers didn’t pay him enough for him to afford enough food anyway, Wakko thought that was bull.
However, he quickly regretted that decision when he had gotten a letter from Yakko that admitted that Dot was going through another rough patch. His brother wrote that he and Dot missed him a whole awful lot, but that they weren’t giving up yet. At least that was nice...
Still, Wakko couldn’t help but feel guilty. His selfishness had gotten him fired from two jobs, and because of that, his siblings were suffering. Sometimes he wished he could just magically fix everything with the snap of his fingers, but he knew that wasn't how it worked. If it was, he would’ve done it already.
After that, he was determined to find a job that would stick. Unfortunately, that was only getting more difficult, as the town that had once been not quite prospering still functioning well enough was starting to fall apart due to the King’s taxes only rising. The only good thing that came out of that was that prices were starting to lower which meant that if he could find a spare coin on the ground, he could probably actually afford something. However, that also meant jobs were going down, and so it was damned near impossible to find something to do.
Wakko had spent a whole month without a job. He lived on the street and picked up fallen coins and didn’t write- couldn’t write- a single letter. The last one he had sent had been about the farm, and he had lied and told Yakko it had burned down so he couldn't write to there anymore. Wakko could imagine how worried Dot and Yakko must’ve been. The thought of their worry kept him up at night.
Still.
A little voice in his head told him not to give up, that he come to far to call it quits now. He promised he’d return in a year, and that’s what he’d do.
“Bravery is not the absence of fear, it’s doing something in spite of it.”
Wakko had a vague memory of someone telling him that a very long time ago, but he couldn’t recall who.
During the late summer, he had worked different jobs every day. Some days, he’d deliver packages for a fraction of what the king’s mail delivery costed, others he’d return library books, and on some, he’d shine shoes. It was exhausting to run around for days on an empty stomach, but somehow he managed to scrape on by with just enough money to send to Yakko and Dot and survive.
Despite the feeling that summer would last forever, autumn arrived and it was the harvesting season. Wakko had heard that farms were in need of help, and he went off to go work at the pumpkin farm that was just a few miles out from town. Wakko had been delighted when he heard about the opportunity and had run seven miles to get there before anyone else. The farmer, a middle-aged Rabbit, had been pleased with his enthusiasm but warned him that he couldn’t pay much and that most of his payment would be in food and shelter, but Wakko didn’t care. He hated sleeping in alleys with a passion and swore never to do that again. Plus, he knew Yakko and Dot were probably pissed at him for not writing for several months, not giving him an address to write to, or anything. Plus, Wakko was not going to pass up on an opportunity for someone else to pay for his food.
However, he had thought working on a farm during the spring was hard, autumn was much, much harder. The town where he worked somehow managed to get more snow than Acme Falls, and earlier, so he often had to wake up before the sun rose and attempt to “fight off the freeze” as the farmer called it. Wakko didn’t care what it was called, it was agonizing. He ended up with blisters and sore arms and had even cut himself on the ax he used to chop branches quite a few times.
However, none of that mattered when he read the letters Yakko and Dot sent.  Wakko hadn’t realized just how much he had missed them until he saw their handwriting on the paper in his hand.
Dot had apparently gone through another rough patch during the time Wakko couldn’t write but had gotten much better, even being able to go out of the ‘house’ and take walks by the river. Yakko wrote that Dot still missed him terribly, and was really mad that he hadn’t written in forever. Yakko then went on a tangent about how much it had worried him, but that he was still relieved and happy that Wakko was safe and okay.
Wakko’s reply had been full of apologies and embellished about his current situation (saying things like ‘i have an actual bed and it’s really comfortable’ and ‘the food is amazing’ and ‘i barely have to work at all’ and ‘I haven’t even hurt myself once!’). He didn’t want to worry Yakko any more than he already had.
In truth, the farmer wasn’t a very nice person, though he was nice enough to provide shelter and food for Wakko and the few others that worked alongside him. However, he did get annoyed when Wakko injured himself, and didn’t provide bandages, so Wakko would have to make do by tearing up pieces of his pillowcase. Soon enough, he tore it all up and there was no more pillow, which hadn’t been fun for sleeping. He also shouted and swore a lot, but Wakko mostly tuned it out, having had good practice after the senile dead lady.
Still, a job was a job, and Wakko wouldn’t have traded it for anything in the world. He was able to keep up his promise with one ha’penny being sent home every two weeks, which Yakko noted was becoming “more and more useful in Acme Falls, as the economy was clearly in shambles”, whatever that meant.
Unfortunately, the harvest came to an end sooner than Wakko had hoped and he was back on the streets in the blink of an eye. He had a few survival strategies he had picked up from observing his older brother over the years, but surviving on the streets in the snow was a lot, a lot harder than surviving on the streets, not during the snow.
And even more unfortunately, there were little to no jobs available anymore. The only ones that were available required him to walk far distances in the snow even during snowstorms. Of course, he took them, but they were grueling and made every muscle in his body ache.
And so he resorted to his least favorite solution: stealing.
Whenever he’d walk past the market, he’d snatch an apple or a loaf of bread if he could manage and hide it in his package until it was safe and he could eat it. He stole matches so he could start fires in the garbage. He stole books that belonged to the library for kindling for said fires. He felt insanely guilty every time, but no matter what way he looked at it, there was no other option.
His main motivator had been survival. He knew he needed enough money for a ticket home in December, but knew that that’d be near impossible if he attempted to pay for his own things- especially with the taxes taking nearly all of the money he had earned with doing the jobs- and god only knew how guilty he had felt that he hadn’t been able to send any money home for Dot. Still... he figured coming home would be an at least okay replacement.
He hoped.
He wrote letters but didn’t give return addresses, fearing what Yakko would say again. He knew he must’ve been outraged that Wakko hadn’t written or sent money in awhile, and he prayed Dot was doing okay and that they didn’t need the money he wasn’t able to get.
He didn’t have the heart to write about his worries about not being able to come home after all...
Wakko shivered as he thought of that, before snapping back into reality realizing where he was. He had an awful tendency of getting distracted while he was doing errands, it was a problem.
Especially if he was trying to focus on nabbing some food. If he didn’t focus, he was likely to get caught.
Shaking his head to get back to the present, he looked around and saw an empty stall selling some type of fruit he hadn’t seen before, but figured it’d be enough. He casually sauntered on over there, and began to walk past before snatching one with his tail and quickly putting it into the box of books he was returning to the library for an old dog man.
“Hey! Kid!” Wakko froze when he heard a voice behind him. He peeked over his shoulder and saw it was the man who owned the booth.
“Stop right there!” He shouted. Wakko bolted.
He ran through the crowded market, but unfortunately for him, he slipped on some ice on the path and came crashing to the ground, books going flying everywhere, and his fruit was squashed to a pulp.
“Hey-! Kid- are you alright?” The man’s anger faded into concern and Wakko muttered to himself and trying to gather his stuff, ignoring the throbbing in his head, and stinging in his-likely scraped- knee. Eventually, he heard the man approach him, but to his surprise, he started helping Wakko put the books back into the box. Wakko didn’t look at him much, but could feel the man giving him pitiful looks.
“Look- I know what you’re gonna say and you’re wrong. I-i... I swear that I’m a good kid, okay?” Wakko sniffled as he put a blue-colored book down.
“I wasn’t going to say anything of the sort,” the man replied, handing Wakko a green book. Wakko took it hesitantly, still not willing to look him in the eyes.
“I was going to offer you some more of that fruit you took, but you ran in such a hurry, I couldn’t get my words out,” He said. Wakko didn’t know if he believed that.
“I-i just need enough money for my sister and a train ticket...” Wakko mumbled. The man nodded.
“You got family?” He asked. Wakko nodded.
“Sister and brother in Acme Falls,” he said.
“That’s quite a ways away. I suppose you came here for work but that ain’t working out well, is it?” He asked. Wakko frowned and didn’t answer. He wasn’t liking his tone...
“Here, I’ll give you a bag of clementines if you’ll let me. I can even help you with those books if you need,” The man said, standing.
“I can take care of myself,” Wakko scowled, but realized that was probably a really stupid thing to say. He was starving...
“B-but I’ll take the clementines...” Wakko added. The man nodded, and stood up, and headed back to his booth. Wakko did his best to ignore the looks the crowd was giving him as he followed.
“Here you go, sixteen clementines. That should do you good for quite some time. Oh- and here,” The man dug under his booth and Wakko stood awkwardly with his tongue sticking out.
“This should get you a train ticket, and hopefully enough left over for those siblings of yours,” he said, handing Wakko a little brown sack. Wakko gawked at it.
“I-i can’t accept all this. I’m sure you need it,” Wakko refused.
“Nonsense. I got all the clementines I could want. And besides, I don’t need to ride on a train to return to my family any time soon,” He waved it off.
“B-but the king’s taxes-”
“I know how to make due. I know you need the money, and if you know what’s good for you you’ll accept,” He pointed at Wakko, and Wakko realized he wasn’t wrong. He just wished he could do something for the man in return, but knew he couldn’t.
“Th-thanks mister... it’s been a really long time since someone’s been this nice to me,” he looked at the ground.
“No problem kiddo. Stay safe out there, winter is a dangerous time. Might want to bandage that knee of yours,” He pointed to Wakko’s bleeding knee. Wakko nodded.
“Thanks, will do, mister,” he said, grabbing the sack of clementines, putting it in the box with the books, and put the little brown bag of money in his hat. He then waved goodbye and headed on to finish his task, get paid, them immediately lose said payment to taxes, but smiled internally. The tax collector didn’t know about the money in his hat, so he didn’t collect it.
It looked like Wakko was going to be able to come home after all.
