does ikalgo have deeper significance to killua's character? i get that hes like a new friend for killua but why does it feel like he was portrayed so importantly to killua's character during caa? its like theres a deeper meaning, why did killua go out his way just to save ikalgo from those two chimera ants when they entered the building? and why did he look so hesitant? he had thoughts that said "what am i doing..? why the hell am i going the opposite direction?" or something like that. idk it just feels like togashi was implying something abt killua there but i cant figure out what that is. do u have an idea?

Hello! This is a great question!

Ikalgo's friendship with Killua is vital both to Killua's development and also to Chimera Ant arc as a whole! I can explain that significance.

Throughout much of the series, Killua tags along with Gon and primarily focuses on him. He befriends other people, certainly, but he generally does this through Gon--it's not like he's going out of his way to make these friends on his own.

In Chimera Ant Arc, the connection between Gon and Killua gets somewhat disrupted by the events that happen, and Gon's focus shifts primarily to saving Kite and his revenge on Pitou, leaving Killua to worry and feel somewhat left behind and helpless (partly as a result of the the Palm situation as well).

When Killua splits off from Gon to try and save civilians, he meets and a battles an enemy at the time, Ikalgo.

During their fight, Killua gives Ikalgo a choice: Either sell out his friends by revealing their nen powers, or die. Ikalgo chooses to die rather than betraying his friends, and Killua is able to relate to this loyalty. He spare's Ikalgo's life and tells Ikalgo that if they'd met another way, maybe they could have been friends.

Killua's kindness in empathizing with Ikalgo and sparing him is the only thing that saves his life later when he's bleeding out from the needlefish darts. Had Killua not extended that mercy and said those kind words to Ikalgo, Ikalgo would not have saved him, and he would have died.

It's interesting/neat how the scene right after Ikalgo saving Killua from the needlefish involves Gon having his own encounter with another friendly Chimera Ant, and the tone of their conversation is quite a bit different:

Anyway, when Killua shows Ikalgo mercy, makes it clear that they're friends now, and invites him to come along and be part of the human side of the war, he essentially becomes to Ikalgo what Gon has been to him: Someone who represents light, and who represents a path forward to a better life. In this arc, Killua worries that he doesn't deserve a place at Gon's side, but at the same time here he extends the same kind of light and hope that Gon gave him to someone else.

As for the scene where Killua breaks off away from Gon in the Palace Invasion in order to protect Ikalgo, this continues to show Killua's world expanding outside of Gon. Notice how in this page, it clearly shows Killua leaving Gon behind--they have their backs to each other, which is a frequent image in this arc. His mission was to protect Gon and make sure Gon could complete his revenge against Pitou, so deviating from that mission is both shocking to him, and potentially dangerous, but it shows that he's starting to protect and care for others as well as Gon.

Now, I want to be clear that I see this as a positive step for Killua. At this point in the series, Killua had made Gon his entire reason for living, essentially, and him going outside of that and making other friends and protecting and caring about them is a vital step for his character. It's showing that he's becoming a more expansive, mature person who can care for multiple people (or ants) at once rather than centering his entire existence and sense of self around one person. He made this action as quickly and efficiently as possible so he could get back to Gon's side, but he did go out of his way and leave Gon behind momentarily, and even he is surprised by this.

And while obviously I adore his nearly single-minded love and devotion for Gon, with what happens between them in this arc he needs to have others in his life besides Gon, and it's part of his transition into also being the light for Alluka and Nanika. It's a result of Killua's own innate kindness and empathy and the choice he made to leave his previous life behind, but also, he was able to reach this point partly because Gon showed him the love and encouragement he needed to become the person he is.

Now, as for Ikalgo's role in the arc as a whole: He's part of a chain of kindness and mercy that ends up changing the entire outcome of the Chimera Ant arc. This post puts it incredibly well. The chain of kindness started at the beginning of the series, with Gon befriending and rescuing Killua in spite of his background, which then eventually leads to Killua sparing Ikalgo (who then saves Killua right back), and then Ikalgo sparing Welfin, and then Welfin giving Meruem Komugi's name so that they got to be together in the end. Ikalgo shows the consequences of Killua's kindness, which are also the consequences of Gon's kindness, in part.

A major theme of the series and of Chimera Ant arc is that love and kindness are transformative, and Ikalgo has such an important role in demonstrating that theme.

As the rain continued to pour down on you, you felt as though it was washing away not just the tears but also a part of your soul. The downpour was unrelenting, much like the pain that now consumed you. You had never thought that your partner would lay a hand on you, but now you had a throbbing reminder on your cheek. You couldn't believe that it had happened, that the person you loved had hurt you like this.

As you stood there in the middle of the square, you felt like everyone was watching you, judging you. You slowly raised a trembling hand to your left cheek, over which a pinching pain was spreading, looking at the people nearby who had witnessed the incident that took place just a moment ago. Your gaze stopped on the man you could call your best friend without hesitation. Joel had been your confidante, someone you had trusted enough to share your problems with, but now you weren't sure if he would still see you in the same light.

You couldn't think straight, your mind a blur of emotions. You felt a sense of emptiness, as if a part of you had been hollowed out. You had always thought that you and your partner were meant to be together forever, but now you weren't so sure. How could you be with someone who would hurt you like this? You blinked several times, lowering your hand and breaking eye contact with Joel.

You looked around the square once more, feeling lost and alone. You wanted to disappear, to run away from everything and everyone. You hugged yourself tightly, trying to find some comfort in your own embrace, but it was no use. You felt exposed, vulnerable, and embarrassed. The tears and the raindrops continued to mix together as you quickly walked away, unsure of where you were going or what you were going to do next.

But how did you even end up in this situation?

You have been waiting for some bigger smuggling job for a while now, and finally, that day had arrived. Although you were excited, you also felt a bit anxious since this was your first extended job of this kind. It was a week-long trip and so for that reason you worked closely with your best friend, who was more experienced in smuggling than you.

As you arrived at your destination, things went smoothly. The job was challenging, but you made steady progress each day without any significant issues. You and Joel would spend quality time together, discussing work and catching up on your personal lives. Although you both lived in the same Boston Quarantine Zone, you didn’t see each other daily, so you savored every moment of the trip, despite its difficulties. You felt grateful to have Joel by your side, and it was a welcome reprieve from your partner Ezekiel, with whom you'd been arguing over trivial matters more frequently lately.

After a week of being away on your smuggling assignment with Joel, you were eager to return home. However, as you arrived back in the Quarantine Zone this afternoon, you immediately sensed that something was off. The sky was ominously covered with dark clouds, and the wind was picking up speed, signaling the imminent arrival of a storm.

You were relieved that you were close to home and would be able to take shelter soon. As you made your way through the main square with Joel, you spotted Ezekiel watching you both with a scowl on his face. Ignoring his unpleasant demeanor, you continued to discuss with Joel when you would go to receive your payment. Both of you were tired and wanted to complete the formalities after a short break.

After saying good bye to the man, you eagerly approached Ezekiel, who started to walk away, with a smile on your lips, hoping for a warm welcome. However, as you got closer, you felt the tension in the air, and you knew that something was wrong. Ezekiel's attitude was cold and distant, and it was clear that he was not happy to see you.

As you began to walk together towards your home, the silence between you was deafening. You tried to engage him in conversation, but he was unresponsive, and his body language was closed off. The entire time, you couldn't shake the feeling that something significant had occurred while you were away.

“Are you okay?” you asked, tiling your head to glance at your partner.

“I’m fine,” Ezekiel shrugged and darted a quick glance at you.

“Are you upset?” you persisted, keeping your gaze fixed on him, except when you had to pass someone.

“Why would I be upset?” Ezekiel remained silent, indicating that you had hit a nerve.

“You’re acting strange, is something bothering you?” you asked, growing more confused by the second.

“You know exactly what’s bothering me,” he snapped, his anger now palpable.

You were completely bewildered. You had no clue what he was talking about. “I’m sorry, but I don’t understand,” you said.

“Joel,” Ezekiel spat out stopping in the middle of the sidewalk, his tone full of disgust. “I don’t like the way he looks at you.”

Your heart skipped a beat at the mention of Joel's name. You couldn't believe what you were hearing. “What do you mean, Ezekiel?” you asked incredulously. “He's been helping me with the smuggling job for the past week. There's nothing between us.”

“I saw the way he was looking at you,” Ezekiel said, his voice rising with each word. “I don't trust him. He's been trying to get with you since day one.”

“That's not true,” you protested. “Joel and I are just friends. He knows we’re together and besides that, it was you who introduced me to him.”

“He's just waiting for his chance,” Ezekiel growled. “I don't want you around him anymore.”

You couldn't believe what you were hearing. Ezekiel was always possessive, but you never thought he would be so jealous of your friendship with Joel. “That's not fair, Ezekiel,” you said, feeling the first drops of rain hitting your skin. “You know Joel is just a friend.”

“I don't care,” Ezekiel said, his voice cold and unyielding. “I don't want him around you.”

You shook your head in disbelief.

“That's not going to happen, Ezekiel. Joel is my best friend and I won't give that up because you're jealous.”

Ezekiel's face twisted in anger, and you could see the rain pouring down around you. “Fine,” he said through gritted teeth. “But don't come running to me when he tries to make a move on you,” he significantly pointed at you with his index finger.

“Something like this will never happen and you know that.”

But Ezekiel was not convinced and continued to argue with you, loudly accusing you of being unfaithful and not caring about your relationship. You tried to reason with him, but his anger was too intense for him to listen. The argument only escalated, drawing attention from the people around you.

As you look back on the situation now, you can't help but think about what might have been if you had only listened to Ezekiel words and let go. Maybe if you had accepted his point, waited for his temper to cool down, and approached the subject of Joel with a calm demeanor, things might have turned out differently. But your prideful nature wouldn't allow you to back down. You refused to relinquish control, unwilling to be the target of Ezekiel's wrath and succumb to his demands. And now, you can't help but feel the crushing weight of remorse for your stubbornness, knowing that your refusal to concede has led to an irreversible outcome.

As the heavens opened up and raindrops battered down on you, drenching your clothes and adding to the discomfort, the argument with Ezekiel hit a fever pitch. The mere suggestion that you had been unfaithful to him wounded you deeply, and the fact that he had the audacity to try and dictate who you could and couldn't spend time with ignited a fury within you. It was in this moment of intense emotion that a searing pain shot through your cheek, and before you knew it, your body had retaliated with a hit of its own.

Both of you were left standing there, stunned into silence by the sudden escalation of the conflict. Although you had argued often in recent times, physical violence had never once come into play. You opened your mouth to speak, but the words caught in your throat as the rain continued to pummel down on you, its unrelenting presence blurring your vision and making it difficult to see clearly.

“Fuck it all,” Ezekiel snarled, breaking the silence. He spat near your shoes before turning and walking away with heavy steps filled with anger. You watched his figure disappear into the rain, feeling a mix of sadness and rage inside you.

You shook your head, desperate to erase the haunting memories of the moments that had just transpired. Your arms wrapped more tightly around your shivering frame as the cold penetrated your very bones, causing your body to quiver uncontrollably. You sniffled, wiping your nose with a futile attempt to rid yourself of the constant rain, which had reduced you to a sopping mess.

You had no idea where Ezekiel was headed since he had walked off in the opposite direction of your place. But even if you had, the mere thought of returning to your four walls left you feeling hollow and alone. The job had made you yearn for the warmth of your humble abode, but now it was the last place on earth you wanted to be.

Home was out of the question, and the idea of seeking solace with Tess was just as unappealing. After all, she lived with Joel, the very person who had triggered the argument with Ezekiel. So, without any other options available to you, you made your way towards the underground tunnels that you often used with other smugglers. However, you knew that you needed to be doubly careful, watching out for any FEDRA soldiers who might be patrolling the area. The sight of a person with a backpack in a downpour could be enough to attract their attention, and the last thing you wanted was to find yourself in their crosshairs.

As you approached the hatch of one of the tunnels, a sudden hand landed on your shoulder, causing your heart to leap into your throat. Panic and fear coursed through your veins as you tried to make sense of the situation. Your mind raced, calculating the odds of being discovered by FEDRA and the consequences that would inevitably follow. You couldn't afford to let them find out about the tunnels and expose your fellow smugglers to danger.

In a split second, you froze, trying to discern the identity of the person behind you and assessing the danger you were in. You couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in the pit of your stomach. Was it a soldier? Or worse, were there more of them lurking in the shadows, waiting to pounce on you? You didn't have much time to think before you had to take action.

Acting purely on instinct, you grabbed the stranger's hand and twisted it sharply, catching them off guard. Their sudden yelp of pain echoed through the tunnel as you turned to face your attacker, your heart racing with adrenaline. You were relieved to see that it wasn't a FEDRA soldier, but Joel, who has had to follow you all this time. The thoughts raced through your mind, each one more frantic than the last. Why hadn't he said anything? Why didn't he try to catch up to you sooner? Perhaps he had been trying to catch up to you all along, but the chaos of the moment had clouded your senses. Your mind had been so consumed with the urgency of escaping the Zone that you hadn't even noticed. You were so determined to disappear from the sight of everyone that you had become oblivious to everything else around you.

Despite the momentary relief, you knew that danger still lurked around every corner, and you couldn't let your guard down for even a second. The stakes were high, and the consequences of being caught were severe.

Your face flushed with embarrassment as you let go of Joel's hand, “I'm so sorry!” you apologized, feeling awkward for mistaking him as someone from FEDRA. The rain continued to pour down, drumming against the ground in a steady rhythm. You scanned your surroundings, making sure that you were safe from any prying eyes.

“I thought it was someone from FEDRA,” you explained quickly, still feeling the rush of adrenaline from the encounter. Joel nodded understandingly, his eyes scanning the area as well.

You couldn't help but feel self-conscious about the altercation with Ezekiel and the possibility that Joel had heard everything. You scanned your surroundings, taking in the damp walls and small puddles on the ground. Despite the discomfort, you were relieved to be out of the rain.

With a heavy sigh, you removed your backpack and ran a hand through your wet hair, brushing it away from your face. You leaned against the cool wall, feeling the dampness seeping through your clothes, and slid down onto the dirt floor. The sound of water droplets echoed throughout the tunnel, creating a calming backdrop to the tense atmosphere between you and Joel.

The man leaned against the wall opposite you, his arms folded over his chest as he looked down at you. Before he could say anything, you spoke up.

“I don't want to talk about what happened,” you said quickly, hoping to end the conversation before it started.

Joel persisted, “But he hit you-”

Cutting him off, you interrupted, “And I hit him too. It's in the past now. Let's just forget about it. Pretend like you didn't see or hear anything,” you added, pulling your knees up to your chest and resting your head on them, clearly indicating that you didn't want to discuss the matter any further.

You heard Joel's heavy sigh and the sound of a backpack falling to the ground. He finally got rid of his own as well. Pebbles rustled under his shoes as he crouched down. Joel's voice grew stern as he spoke again. “You can't just pretend like nothing happened. You were assaulted, and it's not something you can just brush off,” his eyes bore into you, and you could feel the weight of his concern.

You felt a surge of anger rise up in you. “I don't need your pity, Joel. I can take care of myself,” you spat out. You hated feeling vulnerable, and you didn't want anyone to see you that way, least of all Joel.

He didn't back down. “I'm not trying to pity you. I'm trying to help you,” he said, his voice softening. “You don't have to deal with this alone.”

You shook your head. “I'm fine, Joel. I've dealt with worse than this.”

“And what, you'll just go home like that? And then you'll lie down next to him in bed, pretending as if he hadn't made you a scene of jealousy in the middle of the Zone half an hour ago at all?” Joel's voice was laced with concern, his eyes wandered over your face.

“C'mon Joel, go back to Tess and stay out of this. It's none of your business…” you snapped, feeling a surge of irritation at his meddling. You shuddered, feeling the damp clothes sticking to your skin and making you even more uncomfortable. The fatigue from the last few days was starting to catch up with you, and you couldn't tell if the heat on your cheeks was a fever or just exhaustion.

“None of my business?” Joel's voice was incredulous, his head tilted to the side as he raised an eyebrow. “Funny, because I have the impression that my name was mentioned several times in your sweet conversation. Doesn't that make me part of the issue?”

You glared at him, feeling a surge of anger. “No, Joel, you're not part of the issue. This is between me and Ezekiel, and we can handle it ourselves. I don't need you getting involved.”

Joel's eyes narrowed, and he leaned in closer to you. “You sure about that? Because it looks to me like you're not doing so well right now. And I don't want to see you getting hurt anymore.”

“And what do you supposedly want to do about it?”

Joel's face hardened as he spoke, his voice low and menacing. “Find him and tell him that if he ever lays a hand on you again, I'll make sure he regrets it for the rest of his miserable life.”

You couldn't help but chuckle at Joel's overprotective attitude, shaking your head in disbelief. “Come on, Joel, you're being ridiculous. It's not like this has happened before,” you said, trying to downplay the situation.

Joel's eyes were focused on you the whole time as he continued to speak, his tone becoming more serious. “I don't care if it's never happened before. He shouldn't be laying a hand on you, ever. Besides, you seemed exceptionally happy to get a break from him this week and that's not a good sign. You shouldn't have to feel relieved to be away from your partner, especially not in the middle of a world like this.”

You felt a lump form in your throat as you listened to Joel's words. He was right, of course, but you didn't want to think about it. You didn't want to think about the fact that your relationship with Ezekiel had been deteriorating for a while now. That he had become increasingly possessive and controlling, and that his jealousy had reached a boiling point today.

You let out a deep sigh, your breath misting in the chilly air. “I know,” you said softly, “but there's nothing you can do about it. I'll deal with it on my own.”

Joel shook his head. “I can't just stand by and watch while you're being mistreated like this. It's not right.”

“Joel, please,” you said, pleading with him. “I appreciate your concern, but this is something I have to handle myself. I'll talk to Ezekiel, I'll figure something out.”

Joel didn't look convinced, but he nodded. “Okay,” he said finally. “But if you ever need anything, you know where to find me.”

You managed a small smile. “Thanks, Joel. I appreciate it.”

The two of you sat in silence for a few moments, the only sound the drip-drip of water from somewhere in the tunnel. You shivered again, feeling the cold seeping into your bones. You were exhausted, emotionally and physically drained. All you wanted was to curl up and sleep for a week. But you knew you couldn't. You had to face Ezekiel, had to try and fix things between the two of you. It wouldn't be easy, but you were determined to try.

'Ello! I'm Estelle (though I do also go by Esper) and I'm currently attending Naranja-Uva Academy! Trying to type my pinned post with proper grammar to make it easier to read but do note that I don't typically type like this!

I currently live in Paldea with my Mamá and my Maman though I grew up in Spikemuth, Galar with my Mum! And I guess before that I lived in Kalos but I don't really remember any of it, memory is quite fuzzy and blank around that time.

Not much else to say about myself if I'm being honest, though I guess trying to talk about yourself is typically difficult. I like cooking baking and I've also been getting into photography! I've been taking plenty of photo's of the residents and patients at the Silver Wood Sanctuary here in Paldea. I don’t work there but I visit often.

I'm also psychic. I guess that's worth mentioning. And, no, I do not mean psychic typed. Anyways!

I know I am supposed to be on hiatus but I did say I'd come back to post if anything of significance happened and I do think what is going on right now is suspicious enough to be significant. I also think it's a good topic of conversation so let's start one:

Today Jess shared this to her story. These are from the same post by hypebae on Instagram, an account that Jess doesn't even follow (nor does this post mention her directly in a tag) though it does mention Renell. Oddly enough, Jess did not do her usual thing, which would be what?

Stealing a photo, posting it as if she owned it, and tagging a bunch of people as well as including her little "post-production by ice studios" tag.

The last time Jess did this was when she posted a story with a GQ magazine cover and she shamelessly claimed Ice Studios as "post-production" in a tag with a few other people. Even though the actual post did not acknowledge her or Ice Studios for that matter. [Source]

Shortly before this story, however, Jess made a few posts that were literal duds on social media...compared to her other stolen photo posts which tend to do slightly better but not by much. I'm, of course, talking about the series of photos she posted that all got less than 10 comments, some of them only getting 1 or 2. [Source]

In mid-December, it was noted that Jess had lost quite a few followers she was down from 42K to 41K. [Source] That was noticed on the same day that she had posted the GQ story (instead of making it an actual post as she usually would). Which means that her follower count started to drop around the time she posted that series of photos that got barely any likes, comments, or attention from anyone other than bots or her very own stans.

A few days later it was noticed that the Ice Studios shop was locked down. If you try to access it you will only get a page that says to enter a password (that is if you go by following the link on Jess's account) but if you type in the address directly you will be prompted to sign up for their newsletter. There is no possible way to access the store to buy anything.

This is concerning in the way that only days before this happened, they appeared to have sold out of a bunch of their merchandise (the Flintstone beanies they sell for far too much money). What does this shop shutdown mean? Does it mean they intend to send out the merchandise? Who do people contact if they paid $100 for one of these hats but didn't get one? Did they take the money, close shop, and run? Did they sell anything to begin with? All of this happened amidst Jess losing around 700 followers in less than two months.

From December 19th when she was at 41K to this post she has lost around 2000 followers total because she definitely used to have at least 42K and this all happened incredibly quickly. Even Jess's IG story spam of her snowboarding with Jamie holiday and the actual post only seemed to decrease her follower count faster and she's certainly not regaining people either.

This definitely indicates something significant is going on with Jess. Especially considering that Jamie returned to Mt. Bachelor (where he had been before on holiday) without Jess being with him, appearing much happier and having a lot more fun than his holiday with her over the New Year (if it even happened then because we know that Jess is known to recycle old material when she needs to).

This has led me to come up with a few theories on what may be going on to cause this behaviour on her part but keep in mind they are only theories and if anyone else has any insight I'd love to hear it as well.

Somehow, for some reason, Jess got in trouble posting those stolen photos finally. Either it was when she posted the photos that got little to no engagement, or shortly before. She is possibly in hot water over stolen intellectual property and has been warned about posting it and tagging Ice Studios or (worst case scenario) someone has thrown a lawsuit in her direction.

Business with Ice Studios has gone bad or she's parting ways with Renell and/or someone else is taking over control of the website and getting it away from Jess. I know Jess did go on to "promote" Ice merchandise in two of her stories after the site was locked down but Jess also wouldn't want anyone to know that she is a phony or losing her business title so obviously, she'd keep acting like nothing was wrong.

Jess is officially unemployed and losing her connections with everyone. This may have been indicated by her staging a story to get the attention of a company called Lede and kissing up to someone in their marketing department who she very, very recently followed. Whatever the case, something she has done has alienated her even more from what connections she did have and she's blatantly trying to make new ones.

Jamie and Jess are broken up behind the scenes and people in the know are aware of it thus the people who felt obligated to give her a follow unfollowing her in droves. Once again, if this is the case, Jess would most certainly go out of her way to make sure no one publicly found out they split because her entire reputation/fame/income relies on being Jamie's perfect little "witchy girlfriend".

These are the theories I have come up with. It could be one of these things, could be a combination of these things, or I could be completely wrong about all of it. The only thing I can say for certain (as I've said before) is that I'm sure my blog has very little influence over her account or popularity (if it has any at all). This means that her loss of a couple thousand followers in a very short period must have to do with something happening in her personal life and it's obviously not something very good. What does everyone else think? Do you have better theories? More receipts? Do you agree with one of these theories more than the rest? I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.

That page of hinata looking back at a Kageyama that gave him the first toss ever before falling out of fever and exhaustion. Your tags were interesting could u pls break it down?? Is it a full circle of view from the top narrative or Kageyama being the first setter to give him a toss so a silent thank you?

Ngl I write so much about haikyuu and tumblr's search is so bad that I wasn't able to pinpoint the post you're talking about but i'm pretty sure it's about these panel from ch 364 during the kamomedai match. (if it's not, feel free to send another ask and i'll do my best to reply)

In a way it is a full circle moment, both for their partnership but also for Karasuno and where the two of them stand within the team? Hmm, i'l try to explain this.

So the panel on the left is the first time Kageyama's ever set for Hinata, back in ch 4 when they're practicing for the 3 on 3 match. And at the time, Kageyama was refusing to set for Hinata because well, Hinata sucks and Kageyama won't set for people who are unnecessary to win. But they're still together, practicing recieves at like 5:30 in the morning because they don't really have a choice but to work together and then this happens

And Kageyama- who has been frustrated this entire time because no one else around him understand, who struggles with being the only one who is always going for every ball with the same desperate desire- is inexplicably moved by this, by Hinata putting in this much effort and hurting himself for a ball that ultimately doesn't matter much at the end of a long practice when he's getting tossed to by a guy who doesn't even respect him. So finally, after like 3 chapters of refusing to set for Hinata, Kageyama finally does. And it's significant that he's doing it here when when Hinata's exhausted and just completed a decent receive and for once, not actually asking for or expecting a set (it's a bit of a challenge too: i'm finally giving you this but when you're in a terrible condition, do you still want it?; it's a bit of a plea: won't you show me again? that you'll try for volleyball, that you won't give up no matter how tired, no matter how hard?)

Back to the present moment, it's in some ways the same thing but upgraded, a measure of how far they've come that Hinata can make an excellent receive and Kageyama looks at him and says, nope not enough come here now and finish it, won't you? and Hinata does!! Because he will always rise to the occasion, always drag himself back up if it means he can spike and all of these are facts that are firmly entrenched in both of them now

Back then Kageyama could barely dare to hope that someone would ever be able to match him and now he knows Hinata will and look at the way he fucking revels in the knowledge of all that.

But there is something else that's changed too. Namely that it's not just the two of them anymore.

It's not just Hinata now that can rise to Kageyama's expectations, it's all of Karasuno. It would be soo easy for any of them to not jump at the end of the 6th set of the day after back to back matches but they do. All of them jump, all of them are here now, caring just as much about volleyball and putting in just as much effort and the team as a whole is in sync, they're all united in this desire and it's a measure of how far they've all come together too.

And with the look at the end,

I think it's one part that they just completed something really cool and with each other so they're like reveling in the moment together but also one part that Kageyama sees Hinata fall and he realizes what's happening before everyone else does because he already suspected Hinata's sick and because he's got this uncanny knack for reading Hinata.

I post art sometimes and make nonsense posts.

Name tags are exclusively my original characters. I don't tag any characters for fandoms, as I'm not really in any fandoms.

My interests/hobbies: Writing, drawing, comics/manga, and Video games (splatoon, terraria, minecraft, free mmo type games).

My projects:

+: My main project. Currently on my tenth draft of it that makes pretty significant changes to the plot, structure, and characters. It's about a group of young adults trying to find out what happened to two of their friends who went missing.

I really like + and i enjoy talking about it more than any other project. I've been working on it since late 2015 so there are a lot of different versions of it. The most important drafts (ones I talk about the most) are draft 2, 7, 8, 9 and the most current one 10. Draft 6 is also relevant because it is the worst version that has written content. Drafts 1, 3, 4, and 5 most exist as notes and art, draft 1 is entirely physical comics I drew in 2015, so I don't have much to say about them.

If you're curious about any specifics about the project, please feel free to ask questions about it! I'm currently trying to motivate myself to write out comprehensive character information and make full designs for a lot of the characters.

When talking about specific aspects of + drafts I try to tag the draft (example: draft 9 +) and any characters discussed. This is mainly for me and a lot of them are contextualized fully because they're for me, but if you wanna look you can :)

Characters: David, Chris, Valentine, Eli, Clementine, Madi, Olive, Jay, Jaxson, Evan, Vincent, Vanessa, and a few more, but the main ones you'll be hearing about on my blog are the first 5 listed.

She Saw: My comic based on an old draft of +, draft 2. A 3 and half part long story about a lesbian who finds the dead body of one of her best friend's boyfriends and gets sucked into a conflict involving that, all the while experiencing high school and seeing horrific visions. What is complete of it is posted on tumblr and DA as well as a few other comic sites? I believe. If you're interested its @shesawcomic, I haven't worked on completing it since 2019.

If your curious about the + connection, every character in She Saw has a direct analog in draft 2 + character. The main character, who's name isn't revealed until the end of the current part, is Veronica (now Madi) from +, Faith is Valentine, the unnamed boy is Daemion (now David), Terrance is Chris (arguably also Eli, they are interchangeable in draft 2), Mary is Mary, Kate is Kathy. There was an additional character who was not revealed at the time I stopped writing, and was the only character without a + analog, though her situation could be based on a number of characters I've written before. Everything I write is derivative of itself.

Characters: Her (shesaw), him (shesaw), Terrance, Faith, Mary, Kate. (All of them got finished refs this summer :D)

WWW: New project. A comic based on an old draft of +, draft 2, 3, and 4. Unlike She Saw, which sought to recreate the high school segment of draft 2 (a, if I am remembering correctly, 16 page long section) WWW seeks to replicate and add on to the main plot of draft 2, taking into consideration traits added to the characters after that draft. The comic is about Cici who lives in the middle of nowhere on a dairy farm separated from the rest of society until a woman named Juliet comes and helps him escape. Juliet, a woman obsessed with obscure religious groups, practices, and magic, convinces Cici help her work towards her goal of achieving immortality. Unfortunately, when they do achieve something, it's not a glamorous as Juliet described it to be. - WWW is an abbreviation of a test/temporary name that might not stick.

Similar to She Saw, WWW characters also has connections to + characters, but they're really obvious in my mind so i'm just choosing to have that be a funny thing that people who know + characters would notice.

Characters: Cici, Juliet, Sammy.

Seagull: Another newer project. A comic/short story about a half wolf half human man who's sent to work and live on a "lighthouse" in the middle of the ocean to keep watch for "something in the water". He quickly discovers that his lighthouse has attracted a strange angel that resembles the seagulls.

Characters: Jupiter, Seagull (haven't named him yet), Coral

For the 3 projects that are not + listed above, I'm happy to answer any questions! WWW is my main focus aside from +, She Saw is in limbo, and Seagull is kind of a side project.

Koko's quite well off. Unsurprising with his adoptive father being leader of a gang and all. Outside of that, among his posessions from his own time that ended up here with him, he has a rather sizable stock of his timeline's currency, Credits. Even if functionally useless in modernity, he holds onto it for the sake of keeping parts of his native time.

What he does have from his time that may still hold some value here, another currency more commonly used between him and his peers, platinum. He had a solid stock of it on him but, assuming it held just as little modern day value as his credits, Kokabiel's decided to just....stash it away with other keepsakes of his old life. If only he was aware of the fact it did hold quite a bit of value in the modern day.

money aside he's not really one for much of a lavish lifestyle, too used to the years spent adrift in the ruined remnants of the Zariman, and the smaller, yet comfortable space that was his Orbiter and Dormizone

Honestly? When it comes to getting gifts he's not used to getting gifts at all so just about anything is something he's really happy to recieve. If there was anything specific I'd point out? Likely something to do with his hobbies, sewing supplies and fabric to make plushies with, cool paints he doesn't have for his miniatures, that kind of stuff.

As for giving gifts himself? A pretty good gifter, typically giving handmade items though he if knows there's anything in particular the other's mentioned/been wanting/etc he'll opt to get them that instead, potential costs be damned. He's got the money for it and while he doesn't care to use it for himself he's always more than willing to for the people around him he cares about.

🔪 KNIFE - how do they react to injury / misfortune befalling their loved ones (significant other, family, friends)? do they put themselves at blame?

Internally? Frustration, anger if the situation is serious enough. At whoever would hurt his loved ones, and admittedly...at himself. Even if he doesn't actively try to think it he's spent his life a soldier, a protector against those that wished to lay claim to the system for their own. And seeing those he cares for hurt...even if he wasn't involved to begin with, he feels responsible. It feels like Thursby all over again, his boy's screams over comms as he was torn limb from limb, feeling like if he hadn't stepped in, the boy might have been able to slip under corpus radars just that bit longer.

Regardless, his first priority if anything happens to those he cares about is them. No matter what, minor, major, his first reaction is making sure they're okay. If what happened to his loved ones was something major, however?

Whoever hurt them can only pray to the voids that Koko may deal with them swiftly.

Rules

The main rule in interacting with me is that this blog is hate free. I don’t have anything against drama and hate as long as it stays within the threads and our muses’ relationships. But OOC drama and anon hate I just won’t tolerate. This is a hobby, after all. It shouldn’t be stressful.

I’m selective in a way that I will most likely answer to what I see happening for my muse and what I have muse for at the moment, but I’m not mutuals only, which means that you are more than welcome to send me asks / memes / anything and come say hi in DMs even if we are not mutuals!

I’m OC and Crossover friendly, but only if I’m familiar with your character (for most Crossovers) or if you have an about page in your blog or won’t mind telling me some basics about your character so I could see how our muses could click (for OCs and those Crossovers with whose fandoms I’m not familiar). That said, I love crossovers and absolutely adore OCs)

I love shipping dearly, but, unsurprisingly, it will be based on chemistry. My main ship for Rumple is Rumbelle and, unless we've plotted a romantic relationship between our muses, Belle will be mentioned in threads as Rumple's significant other. GoldenQueen also holds a special place in my heart. But if you write Regina, my default for their relationship is strictly platonic, unless you also would like to explore the romantic route with these two.

That said, I’m more than open to the idea of a pre-established relationship! And it doesn’t necessarily have to be a romantic one. I’m all for platonic, antagonistic, found family etc. kinds of dynamics! Just pop in my DMs, and I’m sure we can figure something out)

When it comes to asks / memes and open starters, as I’ve already said before, you are more than welcome to send them in, regardless of whether we are mutuals or interacted before. I love to chat and roleplay with new people! The date I posted the meme or open starter doesn’t matter either as they don’t have an expiration date)

About SunriseClan

Welcome to the clan. This is a blog and archive for my own cats using the game Clangen (with assistance from Catgen, a tool used to customize cats) which of course is based on the Warriors book series. The pixel art is not my own and originates from the game and original artist. However, if I find the motivation, I may draw my own art of the cats from time to time. Similarly, the prompts and events were not thought up by me, and though I can push things in a certain direction, all the credit for creativity goes to Clangen. This blog will primarily consist of in-depth documentation on my clan, the relationships within it, and their stories. At times the events and interactions in Clangen can be a little vague, and I'll usually leave it vague so that the details can be filled in by our personal interpretations and headcanons.

To be clear, the name "SunriseClan" is not unique, so feel free to use it for your own clan if you like. This is why I add my name to the blog to distinguish from other clans that might have the same name, currently or in the future.

The rest of this post will go over the details of how I run my clan and the content you'll find in this blog...

The Basics: Clan Content, Rules, and Warnings

The game itself has a content warning for "mild descriptions of gore, violence, and animal abuse" so please be aware that if you choose to engage with Clangen content, you may encounter these themes. Death and tragedy in general is a common occurrence in the Warriors books as well as Clangen.

The game includes gay, trans, nonbinary, and polyamorous cats, and I encourage this, thus I will not tolerate any discrimination. I don't care about any potential excuses or reasons you have to reject this— if you have complaints, keep them far away. That said, as I go along I will be using whichever pronouns the character used at the time, so if one changes their gender identity, the gender displayed at the top of their pages will be edited, but I won't go back to change the pronouns used in old events.

For romance settings, I have disabled romance between former apprentices and their mentors, as well as romance between related cats. I will also try my best to restrict romance to cats who are relatively close in age, or at least situations where the older cat didn't know the younger cat when they were a kit.

How My Blog & My Clan Works

For every season (3 moons), I'll post an update of all the events as they happen. Additionally, each cat will have their own posts solely detailing their own story and their interactions with other cats, which will regularly be edited as the story continues. The easiest way to find these is through tags.

I currently have asks open. If anybody happens to be interested in Sunriseclan, you can ask questions either to me, or even to my cats! There can be aspects of an ask-blog here if anybody wants that, where I can draw my cats answering the questions you have for them.

To be completely up-front, I am not hesitant to tamper with my clan for story purposes. I won't let bias effect who lives or dies, but if a cat has great potential and their story seems to be leading somewhere, I'm not going to let them die by freak accident on a random patrol unless that could lead to something interesting. That would be like if Tigerclaw died in book two by sudden fox attack before he did anything significant, it's just bad writing. I will also do this for aesthetic purposes— I promise not to tamper with this too much, but for example if a huge handful of the clan has the same pose or the same pattern just with minor colour changes (as tends to happen), I'm going to use Catgen to modify them a little for the sake of interesting character design.

I will follow some select rules from the books, such as the rule that only warriors who have mentored an apprentice are eligible to become deputy. However I will generally be pretty loose with things and I imagine the cats will be too. For example, I don't think my clan will generally put up a fuss about warriors mentoring their own kits. These rules are pretty inconsistent within the books themselves anyway.

Prompt Guidelines: Updated!

Whooo finally sat down to write this out! Ok everyone, it has been <checks old post> two and a half years since I wrote out my original guidelines. In that time, I've learned a lot about how I handle prompts and how other people handle them, and it's time for a few changes. They're good ones though! (And they're small, most things are staying the same.)

So! The new guidelines:

My prompts are open.

This will probably never change. I like seeing new prompts come in, because it a, lets me know what people want at any given time, and b, can hit me with a spark of inspiration when I need it the most.

What prompts can you ask?

The fandom most of my followers probably belong to is MDZS. But I've been writing fanfic a long time (more than a decade!) and I have written in a lot of fandoms. Some of the more significant ones are:

Tiger and Bunny, BNHA, AkaYona, Daiya no Ace, Alex Rider, BBC Musketeers, Warrior Cats, Merlin, Castlevania, The Hardy Boys, ATLA

You can also browse my AO3 (linked in my header) or just ask if I'll write for a fandom.

In terms of types of prompts, I take all kinds!

Want to put a certain character in a certain situation? Alternate universe? Favorite trope? Ask away!

Know a character or relationship but aren't sure of the situation? Check out my tag "prompts open"; there are quite a few ask lists in there, and it's where I'll put new ones. (Just please give the actual prompt, and not a number or anything; I've reblogged so many it's hard to tell sometimes, lol).

Just remember, if you give me two (or more) characters to work off of, let me know if you want them to be platonic or romantic!

That's about it for prompt types. The rest of this post is some housekeeping explanations and general rules.

I do have a backlog of prompts.

When I first started taking prompts, I said I would let people know privately if I wasn't interested in them. That... never really happened. The truth is, I like keeping prompts around, even if they don't spark something in the moment, because they might spark something later. If I'm searching for inspiration, those waiting prompts are the perfect place to start.

However, because of how writing works, some prompts will take longer than others to answer.

Please be patient, and if you really want me to write something and I haven't answered your prompt, feel free to send in a different one! That might spark something when the other one didn't. Also, I might just answer both your prompts eventually.

I have written multiple prompts for people in the past, and I don't mind it one bit: Those people are like my regulars! I'm happy to see them (or you) come back and ask for more.

Hm... I think that's it for housekeeping, so moving on to general rules:

I will not write anything explicit except if you tell me it's ok. I don't know what your boundaries are unless you tell me, and I never want to cross them in a fic you prompted. However, this rule is generally for things like gore and violence. And boundaries go both ways:

I reserve the right to refuse a prompt if it makes me uncomfortable. My hard no is sex (pretty much anything rated over T). Otherwise, though, it just depends on where the chips fall (what kind of prompt it is, if it's a ship I don't like, etc). It's not a reflection of you, it's my own squicks and dislikes, so:

If in doubt, just ask! The worst that happens is I say no and you try again.

Dear Creator (Purimgifts 2023)

Hello!

I pinch hit last year, but this is my first time fully participating in the event. I’m so excited! This is also my first time writing one of these letters, so I’m sorry if this is rambly or unhelpful.

Do Not Wants

In addition to the archive warnings excluded from my signup, I do not want fics containing a significant torture element (aftermath/recovery is fine). I also do not want fics where cheating or presumed cheating is a significant element.

General Wants

I write the kind of fics that I would like to read, but I read more broadly than I write. My AO3 bookmarks are an even better representation of my interests than the works I’ve written. My pinned post on Tumblr lists my favorite fics that I’ve written. The “fanfic bait” tag on this blog is where I put posts I think could make for interesting fanfiction material.

My all-time favorite ship is Superman/Batman, aka Superbat. The main thing that draws me to them is the sheer deliciousness of identity porn as a trope. My love for that trope is also what drew me to the Miraculous Ladybug and Young Justice fandoms, both of which play with it to some degree.

I love love love polyamory and “x has two hands” situations. If a fandom on my list has a cannon or commonly-written polyship, you can safely assume that I’d like a fic that includes it.

I also have a particular affinity for fics where characters cook together, romantically or platonically.

Crossovers are great! Rarepairs are great!

Where podfic is concerned, I would love to receive podfic of any of my works, your original works, or others’ works.

I’m going to list my favorite characters and ships in these fandoms, but please don’t feel limited to those! I have pretty broad taste in fic, and I want you to have fun.

Fandom-specific Notes

October Daye

This is a pretty long book series, so it probably isn’t feasible to pick it up if you aren’t already familiar.

My favorite characters are Simon, October, Quentin, The Luidaeg, and Tybalt, roughly in that order. I’d be happy to read about just about any of the characters, with one major exception (see below). My favorite thing about this series is the way that all the major characters support each other through recovering from past hurts and growing to accept love from others.

I’d prefer for Evening not to be very involved in the fic.

Miraculous Ladybug

This is my primary fandom, mostly because I love the identity porn trope. At five seasons with 26 24-minute episodes each, it isn’t the WORST thing to try to get into last-minute. It IS pretty bad, but that’s part of the charm to me.

My favorite characters are Adrien, Félix, Alya, Kagami, and Nathalie, roughly in that order. I enjoy the “sentimonster theory” and fics that explore the implications thereof. I also love fics that speculate about the adult characters’ pre-canon backstories. Fics about Alix, her family, and her current lost-in-the-timestream status would also be cool.

I’m down for any ship (or gen!), but my current favorites are Max/Kagami, Emilie/Nathalie, and Alya/Nino. I like it when Max and Kagami are written as autistic, but that’s by no means a must. I think Emilie/Nathalie/Gabriel is both interesting and funny.

Leif and Thorn

This is a sparkly queer fantasy webcomic about a knight who falls in love with a gardener. It updates daily, but the actual pages are pretty short.

My favorite characters are Leif, Kale, Thorn, Rowan, and Violet, pretty much in that order.

Rowan and Violet’s backstory is really compelling to me, so I’d love something that delves into that. I’d appreciate it if there wasn’t too much focus on the angstiest parts of Rowan’s backstory, though. I prefer reading about the recovery.

I’d also love Leif/Thorn/Kale futurefic that covers what happens when Mulberry and Future!Thorn make it home to their time.

Leverage (and Redemption)

Five seasons of the original show and two seasons of the revival make getting into this one a weighty prospect. I can’t recommend it enough, though!

My favorite characters are Eliot, Parker, Hardison, Harry, and Breanna, roughly in that order. I thoroughly enjoy Eliot/Parker/Hardison. I also love love love Harry and Breanna’s dynamic.

The Timothy Hutton allegations have kind of soured me on Nate’s character by association. I don’t mind if he shows up in the fic or if the characters’ grief for him is a significant element, but I’d prefer that he not be a main main character.

The Chronicles of Chrestomanci

Did you know that the author of Howl’s Moving Castle had written a six-book series about academic trauma, familial abuse, and nine-lived enchanters? Because it’s a very fun ride. They’re kind of doorstops, but they can all be read as standalones. If you pick just one to read, I recommend either Conrad’s Fate or The Lives of Christopher Chant.

My favorite characters are Christopher, Conrad, Millie, Cat, and Tacroy, roughly in that order. I enjoy Christopher/Conrad/Millie. The casefic for this fandom practically writes itself.

Young Justice

This was my main fandom for years, and it will always have a special place in my heart. My favorite characters are M’gann, Dick, Wally, Kaldur, and Artemis, roughly in that order.

The scene in season one where Dick took a selfie with Artemis at Gotham Academy will live rent free in my head forever and is probably the scene that made me fall in love with identity porn.

I ship Dick/Wally/Artemis, and I’m a “Wally is alive and trapped in the speed force or something” truther. I’d be totally happy with fic that just ignores his death, but I also enjoy grief and angst.

Elementary

Joan. Joan Watson. That is all. I cannot express how much I love her.

I don’t tend to ship characters from this show, and I’d prefer not to receive Sherlock/Watson fic where they’re romantically involved. Fic where they have sex is fine.

My favorite characters are Joan, Sherlock, and Marcus. I’d love casefic or a “five years later” thing about them coparenting Arthur.

Justice League (and Justice League Unlimited)

These characters lend themselves to so much delicious, delicious identity porn. Superbat is a particular favorite of mine. I would LOVE fic about one of both of them being Jewish.

My favorite characters are Batman, Martian Manhunter, Superman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), and Hawkgirl. Wonder Woman is also a beloved, and I ship Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman. Two hands!

I usually don’t take sides when controversies are involved. But as the RT controversy has escalated to what it is right now, I felt like I should stop being neutral and take a side for once.

That side being anyone who opposes RT’s top management.

I just wanted to say that if I have the ability to do so, I’d buy RT from Warner-Discovery, sack every single rotten egg in RT, gives all the good eggs the salary and break time they deserved, hire more good eggs to replace the rotten ones that got sacked, and then restructure RT to make sure this controversy can never happen again.

Not since Donald Trump had I decided that I have to side against anyone specifically in a controversy...

A “Holy S**t!” moment on AO3

68 (as of this posting) one-shots of “Yandere LWA character x OC” by the SAME GUY, within ONE WEEK!!!

Seriously, this guy has taken “quantity over quality” to a whole new level by spamming basically the same thing over and over again, so much so that he has basically drowned out all other stories in the Little Witch Academia section on AO3 with his boatload of one-shots of Yandere LWA girls and OCs. I had to use the search function to exclude everything with the “Yandere” tag just so I could see anything else.

JackNTrade, if you’re seeing this, please stop spamming so many one-shots with the same premise. Not everyone wants to have their AO3 log be nothing but Yandere stories. Maybe you should consider writing something else or slow down a bit. Either one of those, or step away from your computer/ put down your smart device and go touch real, physical grass. Seriously, I have literally never seen such a thing happening anywhere on the Internet.

This is actually my second year in review this year, just one week after my first.

Personal comments under the "Keep reading" line

Funny how I made such significant changes to my 2022 year in review in merely TWO posts.

Firstly is my screenshotting of the Twitter post by rubyfinallyrose (no Tumblr account) that depicted a cameo of Ruby and Weiss from RWBY as yarn doll keychains in Gundam: the Witch From Mercury, which was revealed within minutes after my posting it to have been a fan edit and didn't actually happen within the show itself.

Secondly is, well, this post by @twilightguardian regarding the FNDM-HTDM war in the RWBY community, or rather, a tag in it that became my longest tag made this year, replacing the one that made a snarky comment about how "Ryumi and Juri are basically just Alice and Marisa from Touhou with the serial numbers filed off" as my lognest tag made this year. And that's all I'd say regarding Twilightguardian's post.
