Are there any prominent phraseological calques in Clanmew that have caught on? Either from older versions of it or from Citymew (I think that is what I saw it was called). Was reading about loan phrases from other languages and it made me think of Clanmew. :)

Example: if a cat that spoke Citymew was speaking Clanmew and trying to say Blush which I saw was Powliu or (Trout + Color contracted) but they couldn't think of the word they might use a direct translation like Bekabauss instead, if the word for blush in Citymew was literally pink+face.

There's a big one in RiverClanmew vs the Clanmew of the other four, which reflects a difference in how they view the river

RiverClan believes that the river is alive. It is a creature, with moods and intent. They like to refer to it with words as if it is a warrior of its own mind.

Other Clans have words for the parts of the river in terms of simple location and danger. A cat in open water is safer than one that has sunk to the abyss.

RIVERCLANMEW;

Ssbassfaf = Riverfur Where waterplants still spring up from the mud and reach the surface.

Ssbassborrl = Riverpelt The open water where there is still light and warmth, but no plants. Where 'pursuit fishing' takes place!

Ssbassboma = Riverbelly The deep, dark bottom of a body of water. At the Lake, this is where RiverClan cats dive to when they gather freshwater mussels!

Sometimes these are reduced to Ssfaf, Ssborrl, and Ssboma in everyday language. Clan cats loooove their contractions.

COMMON CLANMEW;

Shoal = Loaf Could translate to "shallows" too, it's where you can still stand in the water. Slightly different in use from Ssfaf, it ends where you can't stand, as opposed to where the plant life drops off.

Open Water = Srrao Where you can't stand in the water anymore.

Abyss = Hoeba Usually used poetically to refer to someone who is DEFINITELY dead. Davy Jones' Locker kind of use. RiverClan using this as a name would be like a taunt. See, THEIR cats never see Hoeba, they simply visit the Riverbelly.

Content: some weird fucked up romance, mention of past whumping of a minor. mostly just selma being fucked up

yeah so basically morgan got into a fight, at the start of the series and ended up in hospital, with selma as their nurse, but then selma bumped into this guy who kidnapped her years ago who everyone thought was dead (finn). and yeah

Day 6: Dizziness

It happened every time she saw him. She forgot who she was, what she was doing. He was around that patient Morgan a lot, but never seemed to speak to Selma. Which she was glad about. Whatever the police said, a mushroom didn’t change its spots, and Finn was certainly a mushroom in this case.

She was terrified of him, she knew that much. It was only the adrenaline of their recent meeting that had kept her from passing out at the sight of his face.

She’d never expected to see him again, and definitely not in these circumstances. Every time she looked at him, she felt like she wanted to throw up. She felt so dizzy. He made her feel so weak. And it wasn’t the same fear that had haunted her night and day as a teenager. This was a new fear, that made her want to fall down, faint, tense up, and kiss him on his stupid, obnoxious mouth.

Shit. Maybe it wasn’t the fear at all.

it is only in the T-Doc chamber with Caleb that Essek puts together the pieces of the dream that was consumed by fire, and realises that the parents he's come to love, and half dreamed about meeting, are dead

Essek gets around to asking why he keeping getting the grey static dream and learns that it is not repeating, he's just seeing snapshots of an identical eleven years

Essek gets to dream Caleb dying in the final fight
