What are Drifa's first opinions of the companions before she gets to know them?

Lae'zel: First companion she would meet, immediately understands she's very brave and 'knows what she's doing', respects. As time goes on, I think Drífa's indifference towards her comments/insults would wane, she would ignore it/not understand what she's saying, or would just think she's making a comment like 'you have an ugly large nose' and drifa is like 'you have no nose, see drífa have eyes', then would probably get tired of it, poking the bear, but remain stoic which i think would bother lae'zel more than getting a reaction lolol. Lae'zel hates Drífa... or does she.... :)

Shadowheart: Second companion, small elf girl, anytime shadowheart is like 'i don't wanna talk about it' drífa's like 'aight' and leaves, which is why shadowheart likes her now. Drífa is concerned, a small elf all alone. Feels shes quite small and fragile to be into the things shes talking about, but whatever. literally has no idea who shar is so is like 'cool goddess, i respect your faith' because drifa also follows a rather fierce goddess. Drifa prefers to listen over talking, so they get along well. shadowheart is desperately trying to smash rn

Gale: Pulled this weirdo out of a rock, a malnourished human, appears sickly. Drífa is confused by most of what he says, but he is rather poetic so she enjoys the 'nonsense' he talks about. Now she has 3 main landers to take care of. Gale talks way too much, but it is entertaining to her. She does not like that he believes he could compete with a goddess.... the gods are gods for a reason, to think you could understand their meaning, or be equal to one is conceited to her. She understands it's because of 'love', but she is weary. Gale is trying to smash now in my play through.

Astarion: weird little malnourished elf man. He also talks to much. Drífa has two talkative dramatic tiny boys and two ladies that hate each other so she's kinda remembering why she lived in isolation for 35 years. Astarion she probably views like a cat, like seeks attention when he wants it, eats what he wants, believes he's the best one here. She is not afraid of him being a vampire because she simply would never let an elf fell her, that would be a true dishonor. he's mildly offended. She doesn't tolerate his dislike of children, but typically doesn't really care what he does.

Wyll: Another little guy with sad eyes. Another human. Drifa likes him, he's polite, seems to know what he's doing, seems 'the most normal' plus has seen his share of battle (like lae'zel) so she's glad to have him along. Obviously when things go down she's like 'wow... yet another guy with baggage with a blue lady...' side eying gale. She likes his stories, listens intently to his deeds of good and protecting the sword coast, overall likes him but is still like 'here is another small human- oops small devil for my collection'

Karlach: Finally someone who looks like they're a warrior. Likes her, feels like she doesn't need to protect/take care of, which is good so she can focus her energies on the softies of the party. Drífa would like Karlach, she's a bit blunt and a bit more energetic than Drífa is used to, but probably likes that. Karlach's dancing, lust for life, and fire would be highly approved. I think Drífa wouldn't really get why she's sad about not being touched

Halsin: another gd ELF, but this ones big and can turn into a bear so thats ok. I think they'd have a lot in common but Drífa views him more as a tree hugger. She appreciates nature, so i think they could get along well.... though she finds him confusing... she doesn't feel like she needs to worry about him, and he's pretty forward and upfront so it works out well.

There are all first impressions. Drífa was raised to take care of herself and herself only, keep to her own, and that strength = power, because her lifestyle is very physically demanding. Being big and strong is important, being fat and strong is more important to survive frozen winters etc. She is a loner suddenly surrounded by people for the first time in her life, and is doing her best to keep them alive because obviously they need her help and this is a mission given to her by her goddess, why else would she have sent the ship to take her, to bring her to these people...

ever feel sad about the abhorrent state of the gaming industry resulting in franchises or game companies with a lot of success and promise dying with a whimper. Stuff like arkane studios, who had some of the best modern immersive sims of all time, dropping a shitfest of a game and so many of the employees quitting. We will never have another dishonored or prey. Stuff like wolfenstein who had returned to its peak absolutely shitting itself to death with young blood in a game that broke all of the style of the previous ones and built with nothing on an awfull gameplay loop The fallout series is becoming a parody of itself. Fallout 76 was a fucking scam. We got older examples like dead space 3 being utterly counter to the previous games and shitting on its own legacy. it had a fucking love triangle on it. and literaly only is making a comeback bc it remade the good original first game Payday 3 tried basicaly nothing new and generaly just wanted to be the same as the previous one, with a fresh coat of paint that really doesnt shine brightly enough. With less content than the previous one, inherently unoriginal. and uninteresting (i cant fucking believe they didnt make a heist game in the dystopic future where you kill robocops. jesus fuck what a wasted oportunity) or even my least favorite case, borderlands games, which literaly is were best looter shooter in a genre thats pretty damn empty, utterly destroyed every aspect of its universe with god awfull writing and flanderization of the setting and its characters, there is nothing to look forward to about the series and my goodness its a dissapointment. Like, this is just a few examples off the top of my head. but what the hell, man. Anyways, there's a lot of really good games out there, specialy on the indie scene; im having a real good time with them, i just wanteded to highlight a couple of fucked up cases i thought of. sheesh the industry is odd.

I can't wait to see where this one goes

a light, a blessing, or a bruise: the dishonored au!!!! dishonored au my beloved! (not a fic but check out whale's dishonored art pieces here & here & here they make me feel insane) this fic actually got me to start playing dishonored and the world is. so interesting. the way casper has translated the characters is FASCINATING. great fic I fucking love it.

golden hour is an avatrice fic HOWEVER it's set at camilith's wedding and the way ava just describes lilith as scary and whipped is truly so funny to me

this is a tough one! when i go hunting for fics i normally start w my Fave Character Tags (... treavor pendleton, george hodgson ao3 pages saved to my phone bookmarks smhhhh). probably dishonored fic is my fave to read actually? bc people do so much fun stuff with The World :^)

11. How do you come up with your fic titles?

normally they come from a spoken line in the text of the fic! or sometimes a bit of description... or something from the canon. like the working title for a different kind of man was "stained glass". the fics in the takes two to quarrel series were all named for lines in the fics, except for imperfect life which i lifted directly from canon text (and the series was named for a line in imperfect life)

nlwib's name comes from that one line of wallace's in game thats like - "I must prepare the mourning garments. His lordship has never looked well in black.". i often think that if i was gonna do a cleanup re-write i would just call it in black, but i did start posting it nearly eleven years ago and my Style has evolved since then lol

16. Do you research for your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching?

HFJSDKFHKS SEE MYSTERY MAN PART 2 in which I accidentally uncovered the history of one of the rl officers of the franklin expedition and have since seen real life Scholars talk abt things that were literally lost to history until i connected a bunch of dots on accident while trying to find out what early 19thc. eton was like. for a fanned fiction. me @ franklin scholars: get on my level wankers lol

17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback?

TOO OBSESSIVELY and it never ends well. i am trying to hold back on this bc. drac your fics are too niche your majesty they'll kill your self-esteem your majesty. never 4 get that the only comment i got on nlwib chapter 15 was "shame it wasnt gay" :/

19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just hit post and run (because it’s someone else’s problem now)?

i don't really Edit edit? things come and go as i write, then i'll get a version i like and probably give it a once-over in the ao3 preview to look for typos.

i don't really listen to music while i'm writing bc i get too distracted! either by lyrics or A Good Bit in instrumental music lol. but sometimes I'll play a single song on repeat through the entire thing like a deranged animal. i think the last nlwib chapter was written to Paris 1919 by John Cale on repeat for abt 40 hours lmao

Let's pretend they found a loophole and Mari was able live.

Marinette was looking into the Lazarus pits. That toxic green glow which has caused a lot of pain and suffering finally is going to end. She is only waiting for them to arrive. She needs to see their faces when the moment comes. 

The guards they already had were defeated, unconscious. She didn't kill them, she never was able to do it. Soon they will arrive. She is ready even if she doesn't look like it. 

As the true guardian of the miraculous she has the duty to fix all the damage caused by the misuse of those. She had been doing a good job. She was able to retrieve the butterfly and the peon to the right place, and freed Paris from the emotional terrorist. 

This mission is easy, she could have finished it already, but she needs to see their faces, the faces of her beloved grandfather and mother. Titles they no longer have in her heart. 

They are coming. She is prepared, she is wearing the black cat miraculous and the horse. Her outfit looks like her training robes she used to have in this same place. But they hold more power than what they look like. She is no longer a child therefore she is able to hold more power now. She doesn't wear a mask to hide her face. She no longer needs it. The horse's sunglasses are on the top of her head. She is making herself sure that nothing covers her face. She wants to be recognized.

" I thought I said I don't want to see you again," Ra's al Ghul said. They are here. Marientte turns around to face him. She is relieved that she feels nothing, no love, no hate, doesn't feel the need to vow into submission. Time was kind to her. Time let her heal her, let her see the world beyond the league. Time gives her purpose and value. She is more than a servant.

" I never thought, I would see you crawling inside the temple, the shame of the league. I should have killed you instead of disowning you, you shouldn't have come, you only brought us dishonor your worthless self." 

He talks, long time ago. She learned only supervillains' talks before a fight. Thats who her beloved grandfather is. He is the villain abusing the corruption of the pits to his own gain. She now can see that. He is just a villain pretending to be king. Time let her see the truth.

The world moves forward, and this place is becoming obsolete. Their only source of power resides in those pits. The ones which can no longer exist. The mere existence of those is a blasphemy by the true gods who created the universe. She pitied the old man, but she had a duty and need to accomplish.

"Cataclysm" Marinette lifts her hand summoning the power of destruction into her hand. She focuses on the pits all of them so she doesn't let any single drop behind. She touches the border and the destruction does its job. 

Like a chain all the pits started to evaporate its glow. The destruction is purifying the corruption. For the first time in so long the destruction is using to heal. Plagg couldn't be more proud. Finally a human can understand his meaning. The beauty of the destruction.When the destruction ran its course, the only thing left behind was water.

" What did you do?, you worthless child." Growled the man. Worthless. That word long ago would sting on her heart bleeding into despair. Now her heart is stronger, warmer and brighter. She now recognizes her value and can see behind that lie.

Finally she can see another expression from Ra and her mother aside from disdain and disappointment. She can see their fear by the unknown. They no longer have their source.

" My name is Marinette Wayne" she said, " The true guardian of the miraculous and I never was al Ghul" because she never sold her soul. "Enjoy the rest of your life Ra's al Ghul".

Because time would be the one to bring justice. Soon they will grow old. Their bodies will not be able to withstand their age. Their empire would crumble, and she would be watching. 

She whispers the word and a portal is summoned. They are probably going to seek revenge, that's ok. She can handle, she is strong now. 

When she is about to cross the portal, he speaks. 

" I was never able to remove the bat that resides inside you" she listens " I should have killed you, that path you are following is full pain and suffering" she crosses the portal without another single word.

okay so on the idea that the nine realms is the america of space:

- everyone knows what’s going on there all the time because word gets out on every major event but everyone outside the nine is just a spectator at this point so people be eyeing the crazy stuff going on there but everyone also just moves on with their day

- this results in midgard and asgard being the star attractions where midgard is like the generation of younger activists fighting the system but its also florida with a few people doing crazy things while meanwhile asgard is the governing political mess (re: the other realms are just chilling. maybe they’re michigan or minnesota or every state that just exists and doesn’t get much attention? jotunheim can totally be texas though because its got its own personality but also gets stereotyped.) 

- “so one of the weapon rich kids on Terra went through a life changing field trip and now he’s made himself a fully operational suit of armour and claims to be defending the planet” “with their noob tech? really?? they don’t even stand a chance against anything in the rest of their own galaxy--” “no no no he’s defending the planet and establishing peace... only within the populations on Terra” “aww that’s so cute” “i know!”

- space has all the gossip which means they know all the messed up stuff going on within the nine realms and everyone in space is kinda detached and not a part of it so its like a tragic-comedy reality show that people like to keep up with

- “so odin is pretending his new son is actually his firstborn now... and also banned talking about the whole history of being built on colonialism and also no one is ever allowed to mention his executioner daughter’’ “huh, weird”

- “odin totally stashed the tesseract on Terra to keep it safe” “why are you telling me this” “I was just thinking about how funny it’d be if those short-lived humans found it one day” “you’re not going to go find it for yourself? it’d sell for loads of credits...” “nah dude i’m not risking stepping into the pit of despair that is that dark dark section of the universe”

- “there are rumours he stole the jotunheim king's kid and is raising him as an asgardian” “does the kid know?” “the father sure doesn't he thinks the baby was killed” “no wonder laufeys been going a bit off the edge recently” “i’m feeling worse for the poor kid stuck with odin now”

- “hey so that Terra hero Quill was always going on about? he’s been found and recently unfrozen apparently” “dont lie to me - humans don’t live that long” “that’s just what I heard i swear”

- “odin used another realm as a time out dumping ground” “which one now?” “the second one, and midgard this time” “at least midgard isn’t filled with the souls of the dishonorable dead?” “well it was his favourite kid, so, ya know,” “ah yes, blatant nepotism, thou art a villain”

-  everybody KNOWS what’s going on around there but no one wants to get stuck in that mess so they leave it alone and don't prod the nine realms with a ten foot pole if they can help it hence the negative connotations of midgard especially in gotg and captain marvel 

-  thanos can be colonial britain or something idk how history works but lets assume he thinks it’s prime time to go to planets and just kill some people and take their stuff for his own cause and also Sanctuary has 0 natural spices other than a pinch of salt okay

Greys Anatomy let your characters go challenge

ot Disclaimer - this is my opinion and you are absolutely free to disagree with me on this! I’d love to have a conversation about it, but please don’t be mean thank you!

Over so many years and seasons it is obvious that some characters are going to leave and new ones will join. And that is normal, and necessary for the show to keep going and to not turn boring. Mostly, that works fine, some people will be upset about a character leaving, others will be happy, same thing for new characters, rinse and repeat. 

Its pretty well known in the fandom that the characters get written off in ways that reflect the way the actor was like on set. Meaning, if they were assholes, they would leave in dishonorable ways, and if they were nice, their character would get a happy or heroic ending. (One big example of this would be Isaiah Washington, whose character Burke left by leaving his fianceé at the altar after he outed TK Knight as gay and harrassed him for his sexuality. TK Knights Character George died from saving a woman who was about to get hit by a bus.) 

However, in most of these situations the caracter left the show because the actor didn’t want to/couldn’t play them anymore for whatever reason.

The other option was characters getting written of for plot reasons, not because of the actor. And here is were Greys Anatomy sometimes can’t let go.

The reason that i was inspired to even write this post was the most recent episode (S17EP14 Look up child). In this episode, the character April Kepner returns to introduce a way to get another Character, Jackson Avery, to leave the show with her. 

April Kepner is a character introduced in the sixth season as a extremely religious and insecure character, who slowly works herself up to being a trauma surgeon. Over most of her plotline, her “main thing” is that she is inexperienced regarding romantic and sexual matters, saving herself for marriage because of religious reasons. At some point she breaks this promise by sleeping with Jackson Avery the day of their board exams, which she ends up failing. They continue to have sexual interactions until they at some point break up and April meets the Paramedic Matthew. They get together and plan to get married, however both April and Jackson still have feeling for each other despite both dating other people. Jackson ends up confessing his love to her at her and Matthews wedding, and they run away together and marry each other in some random small church on the way. They get pregnat, the kid has fucked up bones and dies immediately after birth, following which April decides to join the military as a trauma surgeon for a three month tour. Se ends up staying longer, losing more and more contact with Jackson and they decide to divorce shortly after she comes home. She realises she is pregnant, but doesn’t tell Jackson to not complicate the divorce, but guess what, it does it anyways. They figure it out after a while and want to raise their child as coparents. In the fourteenth season April has another crisis of faith and becomes a really wild partygoer to deal with that, eventually sorts her shit out and gets back together with Matthew. They leave the show to take care of homeless people in seattle, good for her.

Personally, i was glad when she left. I didn’t like April, she was annoying and insecure and holier that thou religious. Even other characters and actors describe her character as that (though in the “and thats charming” way, which... noo...). She had shortly left the show before for a few episodes at a time, for example when she was in the military or for a short while before it was made public that she was back together with Matthew. And every time she came back, and it just felt weird. These could have been good endings for her, but they kept bringing her back.

Similarly, the relationship between her and Jackson kept being revived, despite clearly not working. There were multiple episodes specifically marketed as “Japril” Episodes, and they were all annoying and just ended with them deciding again that their relationship didn’t work, no surprise there. 

And now, in the recent episode, she returns again. And gets back together with Jackson. I get that she just came back to create an open for him to leave, but i still think it wasn’t necessary. Jackson actual argument for leaving is that he wants to take over his family foundation to create more equality in medicine.

 (This season heavily features current 2020/2021 topics, and the episodes about the black lives matter situation was actually pretty well made in my opinion, especially the station 19 episode (i have seen PoC talk positively about the episodes and they felt good to me as someone who is very invested in the movement, but i am a white person so please correct me if I’m wrong here))

And that would have been a good exit already, i don’t understand why April had to come back at all.

I assume it was just fanservice, since she actually had a pretty big fanbase during her time on the show, and a lot of people really like their ship. 

But, to me, it just feels like the writers are too lasy to come up with new storylines for the characters and just keep bringing together and then spltting up their couples. And that is annoying, in my opinion, sometimes you jut have to now when a certain plot point gets boring and you might want to come up with something new. 

Japril just didn’t work, but they still kept getting pushed together just to break up again. I really hope that both of them finally leave for good and don’t just randomly come back.

I guess my point is, the show needs to learn when to get rid of certain characters and plotlines. Even if you have to kick a fan favourite, sometimes thats just what a show needs to be able to grow and get better or even just stay good.

(I realize that starting this blog with a post about Greys Anatomy might be counterproductive, but i don’t care. All my friends are gay and don’t really give a shit about it and i personally dont even think its a good show but i have been watching this shit since like seventh grade and now im just somehow attached to it. Point is no one is actually gonna understand if i were to talk about this show irl, but thats what the internet is there for amirite)

Hello, I just read though your carrd for the first time and I was wondering if dishonored is worth the play ? (Also I started playing Hades because of you and mmmmm good game )

YOOOOOOO HADES!!!! im glad u enjoy it its one of my Favourite games :D

dishonored is also REALLY GOOD. it’s a stealth game that is like. the main jist is you play as the lover/body guard of the former empress, who was killed in front of you and your daughter is kidnapped. you are blamed for her murder so you are arrested and going to be executed for murder but a group of rebels break you out. 

its EXTREMELY good the plot is somewhat simplistic but the world building is phenomenal. there’s a plague sweeping through the city so there’s a Lot of death and lower class people suffering while the rich are having Grand Parties with Hundreds of people and So Much Food while people are starving and dying. you can find books and notes all around the words with stories, songs, or the last words of the dead. the game overall has a very pessimistic feeling to it. one of the most notable little notes for me is finding two corpses in the sewer embraced, with a note about how they only had enough of the elixir (wards off the plague) for one of them but they chose to stay together for their final moments regardless. 

also the environment and plot change according to your actions! there’s ‘high chaos’ runs, where you kill everyone ruthlessly with only the intent of getting your daughter back and taking revenge on the city, or the ‘low chaos’ route where you can sneak past and knock people out silently with minimal bloodshed. if you chose high chaos the city gets worse and worse for every mission; more weepers (think plague zombies) swarms of deadly rats, guards, and bodies all around. its kinda punishing if you go all Death and Blood without remorse the game like. Wants you to be merciful without forcing it on you which i love

i havent mentioned the magic element yet which is like. my favourite part of the world. theres a figure called the Outsider which is an eternal being who’s extremely chaotic neutral and he lives in the Void. he watches over the world and sometimes gifts powers to people who he thinks are interesting in order to  spice things up a bit. people go mad for his power and people are terrified of him,. hes an insufferable twink i love him

some slight warnings though. the game can be extremely gorey and violent if you play it that way. but i always do Stealth because i enjoy it more so its not so bad then. although the plague and the weepers are disgusting so strong warning for emetophobia. the first game also has like. theres one particular ‘pacifist’ route you can take where instead of killing a rich noble woman you give her to a guy who is disgustingly obsessed with her and kidnaps her. thats self explanatory. 

all women in the first game either get killed or are sex workers or have. that happen. although the devs had said they would rewrite that one mission if they could, and in the second game you play as emily (your daughter you save in the first) and in the third you play as a bisexual black woman who i love.

this got extremely long. im So passionate about dishonored lmao. but ya if it feels to be ur vibe like. i recommend it

Kun-yomi: kega.su, kega.re, kega.reru

There is the literal meaning of dirty, and also the metaphorical meaning of dirty. 汚 carries both meanings, but is more commonly used for the literal “dirty.” 穢 is almost exclusively the metaphorical “dirty.”

What exactly do I mean by metaphorical “dirty?”

Two of the most important founding concepts of Japanese culture are:

Outside versus Inside

Impure (Dirty) versus Impure (Clean)

Basically, things that come from outside (your home, your circle of kin, your community) are viewed as impure. This is one of the reasons why Japanese people take off their shoes before they enter their homes, so they don’t bring the impure outside into their homes. 

The concept of “clean” versus “dirty,” or “pure” versus “impure” is one of the founding concepts of Shinto religion, and the roots of this paradigm can be found in the Shinto creation myth, which I will provide a poor summary of. Get ready for Omoi-no-Hoka’s Mediocre Storytime.

A super-duper long time ago, there were these two sibling gods, Izanami (f) and Izanagi (m). They did the do and created a bunch of other gods. Let’s not focus on the incest, mkay

But when Izanami gave birth to the God of Fire, the machine between got burnt pretty badly and she died. :(

She was taken to Yomi, an afterlife realm that is very dark and gloomy, and she begged Izanagi not to come after her. But Izanagi really loved her and couldn’t stand not seeing her, so he traveled to Yomi anyways. Izanami pleaded with him not to look at her, but he did anyways, and he was horrified to see her rotting body.

He was like, “wtf u nasty”

And she was like, “lskjflsdfij THATS WHY I TOLD YOU NOT TO LOOK”

So he ran away because he was grossed out to the max, and she was even more pissed by this and ran after him so she could catch him and force him to stay in the afterlife with her.

But he escaped her clutches and made it back to the land of living. He sealed the path to Yomi with a great big boulder, which I guess was how you blocked people thousands of years ago. 

Izanagi thought that his troubles were over, but he soon realized that he was covered in the filth of Yomi, and that this uncleanliness was causing him great misfortune. (I’m guessing his BO was keeping the ladies away? We may never know the secrets of the ancients.)

So he went to a stream and washed away the impurities of Yomi, and thereby created more gods (the sun goddess Amaterasu, the moon god Tsukiyomi, and storm god Susano to name a few), as well as purified himself. 

The big takeaways from this story are:

So yeah, the whole “dirty” thing is a big deal in Japan and has been forever. Today’s word of the day, 穢す kegasu, and its kanji represent the sort of metaphorical impurities that our dude Izanagi faced. Those of death, dishonor, shame, and taboo.

Zsadist: Has anyone ever wondered what others think about the leaves that fall in autumn? How it's consistent, never changing? But it's always changing. The form, the colors. No, never those. But the life that nourishes off the a single strand. Or the protection the ground sometimes Get from the bitterness from colder weather. Sometimes the coverage isn't enough, or it's too suffocating. Sometimes...its just right. That's what he was to me, right. I knew I failed, I knew I fucked up. Thats why my coverage was blown away as if it were dust. He left. I was Too weak to have his back. He never had to say it. I loved him for the reason that he wanted so bad to find the daughter he had lost. The daughter who he swore to protect. I knew he believed he failed, but I didn't see it. 

I saw him doing what he could to make sure she survived And I think @TohrmentNLoss was surviving like Rhage taught. Surviving by any means necessary. I wished I could say the same, but I couldn't. When he left, he took the final piece of my sanity with him. Now...I was a shell of a man whom wanted nothing. No food, no water, more Importantly, no blood. The latter was LWs final straw. He said he didn't fucking care if I went back to my previous diet of apples, which I did, but he sure in the fuck wasn't about to see one of his father's best fighters fucking kill himself. While I respected the kid, and I Did. The bitter words of, "Fuck" and "You" sat on my tongue. However, like a good little soldier, I followed the order. I fed from a chosen, but ate nothing but apples and water. I stayed back to myself, being bitter and cold. 

Some said I went back to the way I was before Bella But my twin knew. He knew because he had to resume the beatings he gave me, this time more frequent. This time more brutal to the point to where I could hardly breathe. That was fine by me. Each night, I stupidly sat by the window and watched. Each night nothing but silence Greeted at me. V put me back on patrol, despite of protests, "Either he dies dishonorably like a fucking puppy, or he fights and at least have some fucking semblance of normalcy." I didn't care. Rhage:  -Most days the Brotherhood didn't like the idea of him patrolling alone but with the increase of attacks on their people they didn't have a choice that suited him just fine. Crouching atop a shipping container down by the docks he's tracked a team of lessers in hopes of finding Bitty but as he watched them start unloading what he could smell to be civilian vampire and walk them into the warehouse he looked around for his options. He should probably call for backup but he didn't, by the time the guys showed he'd have this shit wrapped up. Taking a running jump he landed on an adjacent container then bounded to the next. Then scaling the side of the warehouse and sliding into a broken window. 

They were in the Northwest corner of the building he could clearly see the hostages being shoved into cages. He could do recon see what was really going on but that really wasn't his style. A hoisting chain hangs from the ceiling. Leaping from the railing he grabbed the chain and it rapidly started to fall jerking to a stop several feet from the ground guns drawn in mid-air he hit the floor and opened fire on the lessers. Dodging return fire he ducked behind a forklift and changed out clips. He wanted to draw them away from the civilians so he got up and ran like hell for the back door. Catching a bullet in his left shoulder but it didn't stop him. He hit that door at full speed and it fly open. Returning fire he kept dodging bullet's as he skidded behind a dumpster. 

Ducks head out to see the assholes coming outside just like he wanted. He'd taken down two already just needed to get these fuckers closer.- "Looking forward to the dance mutherfuckers! But you're gonna have to work for it!" -Moves around the dumpster and stays in the shadows. One rounded the corner trying to enclose on him and he dropped him with one squeeze of the trigger. Pale bastard dropped with a bullet between his eyes. Gun fire was exchanged by the others and Rhage was out of ammo. Cracking his neck he pulled his blades out. He could feel the Beast wanting out but he wasn't going to let that happen, someone would have to free the civilians and he'd rather not kill who he was protecting. Climbing to get a better advantage atop of container, he dropped down behind one and speared the bastard through the heart. 

The last came up firing Rhage used his buddy for coverage and tackled him to the grounds corspe between them he struggled as he dropped his blade. They rolled fighting, Rhage's hand locked around the guys wrist and broke it sure as shit. The gun dropped and Rhage picked his blade up holding it to the guys chest.- "My daughter, where is she?!" -The lesser wasn't cooperative in the least and Rhage ended him without remorse. Picking up his other blade he called in telling V and LW he needed help. Going back into the warehouse he reassured the civilians and once a van arrived with help he let the others take over and went back to the manor to get cleaned up.

i actually haven't played prey yet but i desperately want to since ive heard its VERY good, but between skyrim and dishonored 2 . . . its a super tough choice bc theyre both amazing but i'll never pass up an opportunity to recommend dishonored to someone !! especially when it comes w another great game on top of that !

dishonored is seriously AMAZING and dishonored 2? iconic, showstopping, fantastic etc etc etc.... the atmosphere and stories and charas and worldbuilding are so brilliant and the mechanics are probably one of my favourites from any gave ive ever played ! so if u want an amazing linear story w awesome chars, thats defintely the way to go !

ALTHO.... in the end it also just comes down to what you personally are looking for in a game ! while prey/dishonored is a set chara/set story kinda deal, skyrim on the other hand is amazing if you like rpgs and more open world games that you can just.....hang out in yknow? plus u will get a LOT of hours from skyrim bc theres sososos much u can do ! so yea if ur looking for a good game to like, make ocs in or whatnot, that might be a better bet?

it just seems like they just genuinely really care about each other even though they’re in some ways very different, like they’re technically rivals right, because at least in vulgate and (kinda) la morte de arthur, lancelot is the best with gawain a close second, but they never seem all that competitive.

especially in chretiens kngiht of the cart where they have this whole like buddy cop thing going on, where lancelot is younger and more impulsive and emotional and gawain is like just sort of along for the ride, stopping lancelot from falling out of windows and sleeping wierd places. then lancelot gets captured and has this whole. deeply homoerotic monologue about why gawain hasnt rescued him yet.  here is is:

“Ah, Gawain, you who possess suchworth, and whose goodness is unparalleled, surely I may well be amazed that you do not come tosuccour me. Surely you delay too long and are not showing courtesy. basically sitting in a tower moping playing ‘he loves me, he loves me not,’ so thats certainly a lot, lets move on to the vulgate, where gawain pretty infamously says the following about lancelot:

“I’d immediately wish to be the most beautiful maiden in the world, happy and healthy, on condition that he would love me above all others, all his life and mine,”

so. theres that.

the main reason is deffo the end tho, where gawain gets fully unhinged and keeps trying to cut of lancelots head, which sounds wild but like lemme explain.

so lancelot and gawain fight and its really close, but eventually lancelot wins. gawain refuses to yield though, so lance now has to choose between killing gawain, which will also end the war and solve a lot of his problems, and dishonorably leaving the field, prolonging the war and shaming himself. its worth noting that gawain is literally begging lancelot to kill him at this point. but lancelot cant bring himself to do it, and returns to his cousins in shame.

theyre like dude what the fuck, and he says uh some things which speak for themselves:

“he would have killed you if he could,” said Hector, “Why did you not do the same to him?”

“I could not do it,” said Lancelot, “because my heart, which directs me, would not allow it for anything,”

and

“I should not kill him for all the world…he is the man, out of all those in the world that have meant anything to me, that I have most loved,”

and 

“it is certainly remarkable of you, “said King Bors, “to love him so deeply when he hates you mortally,”

“find it remarkable if you wish,” replied Lancelot, “but he will never be able to hate me so much that I stop loving him.”

 if you’re looking for theodore tonks, you’ll probably find him in the slytherin dorm with the rest of the seventh years. they’re the twenty one year old halfblood who looks kind of like wolfgang novogratz. they seem charming, loyal, understanding to me, but apparently they’re also jealous, proud and vengeful. maybe that’s why they remind me of bloody knuckles, torn family photos, clothes bursting from a poorly packed suitcase, clenched jaws, cigarette burns.

OKAY HERE GOES NOTHING. lemme give you the lowdown on bb ted. this is not gonna be very long but im just gonna spew what i can.

Slytherin, total asshole not because he doesn’t have a heart but just because he’s so damn tired of giving a single fuck. story goes like this: his dad, pureblood LEGEND. he was set to go the distance get married into a prestigious family and keep popping out pureblood babies like everyone is supposed to. that’s how it goes isn’t it? everyone has to bow their head and do what is expected of them. the thing is, the guy was about as stubborn as they come. and he did NOT appreciate getting told what to do. which just so happened to lead to a breif escapade to muggle brighton, where the esteemed pureblood prince ended up falling for the one person he shouldn’t have. a quickwitted waitress with eyes as blue as the sky. a muggle. he fell so hard, he was willing to leave behind everything, his money, his magic, his family, all for her. and he wanted to keep it that way! that didn’t make anyone in the magical world happy. tbh he basically dishonored his whole family it was a big deal, a big nono ( open plot idea, if ted’s dad was supposed to marry your characters mom?? AMAZING drama. )

so when ted came along, they were pretty freaking happy! their little family was humble but joyous and it seemed like there were no troubles in the world. back then, ted’s dad meant the world to him. he was like his superhero! they did everything together, from playing football after school to taking walks on the pier, to cooking breakfast on sundays. but things started to change around his eleventh birthday, when his letter from hogwarts arrived. that’s when ted’s dad had to face the music… and tell them everything. ted’s mom, super forgiving. her family had faced a lot of hardships in the past so to her, his sacrifice only showed her how much he really loved her. ted on the other hand… wasn’t as thrilled. see he inherited something major from his dad, his stubborness. it didn’t help much that he was uprooted to hogwarts and taken away from his normal. back in brighton he was popular, loved for being an athlete and an all around cool guy. at hogwarts he was looked down at, shunned and often attacked for his blood status, for the house he was placed in and the disgrace of his fathers actions. it basically created some pretty deepseeded trust issues and hatred for the purebloods. now he has an issue with them all.

he wasn’t a stellar student through his first years at hogwarts, not by a long shot. but the injustice he witnessed on a day to day basis fueled his anger for the ones that thought themselves to be better than everyone else. don’t mistake this anger for empathy. he really couldn’t care less about the war because his heart is softened for those suffering. it’s pretty unique… but he wants to succeed to prove blood purists wrong, not to save those that are like him. deep deep down, he does care. he’s just forgotten that side of him, too consumed by the disdain he carries for a certain group of people. if you really push past those barriers, you would see that like his mother, his heart is always in the right place. his family knows what it’s like to be persecuted for something you can’t control. and if they survived once, he’s damn sure certain he’s gonna do so again. 

SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS, right about the time when the announcement about the aurors office was released there were a ton of ‘unrelated attacks’ against muggleborns and muggles associated to wizards right? and ted was already iffy on coming back. so unfortunately, word got around to some pretty popular people that ted was alive and what his father did, stepping out on a pureblood to shack up with a muggle whore, well people did not approve and they decided to do soemthign about it. so TW: DEATH ted came home just seconds after his mom was brutally murdered and well.... ruined in a couple of not nice ways.. and he is traumatized and very much ANGRY. thats really why he decided to even go back to hogwarts, to learn how to be the best wizard and hunt down the people who killed his mom. his dad did not react well, the total opposite shut down kind of like katniss’ mom in hunger games? yeah like that SO DRAMA BABY.

he’s a funny guy tho, laid back, doesn’t really provoke fights much. enjoys his fair share of flirtatious comments and toys around a bit just so no one can see his more emotional and scarred side. he hasnt told many people about his mom yet but you can tell he gets tense when its brought up.  

he’s also taken up swords as a passion as of late. he loves them, got obsessed with learning how to wield them and let’s just say he’s getting pretty good. figures it might come in handy some day.

you can always catch him with a cigarette hanging off the edge of his lips because well, we’re in a war dammit. if the lung cancer doesn’t kill him, a deatheater will so whats the point in kicking the old habit?
