The last time I forget you
This is kind of therapy for me.
A sequel to Forgotten art of letting go
I know I’m bad at writing dialogues and this all is dumb, forgive me, but I wanted to do this.
Also the title and the last Dipper’s line together make a piece of a lyrics. Let’s see if you’ll recognize the song:)
“If you hit it with your baton I’ll slap you…” Craig hissed.
Eric snickered covering his mouth with the fist. Dipper’s hand hovered.
“Wait, what else I’m supposed to do? The damn thing is inside. It’s gonna give away our presence.”
“So what good your baton’s gonna make? Apart from making it screech.”
“No wonder you are a damn idiot, Dipper.” Eric kept losing it.
“It’s Brian, remember?”
“Yeah, Brian with an i so it looks like brain. Just admit it.”
Craig gave Dipper an intense glare.
“You gonna go for it?”
Dipper’s knuckles turned white. His weapon clutched in his fist, one action dividing him from a smart step or a total failure. At that moment no borders existed, no distinctions mattered, only thing present which dimmed Dipper’s eyes was anticipation of that little dinosaur’s pain. Its agony, its frustrated screams. He only needed to open his fist.
But he couldn’t.
“You gonna roll or what?”
Dipper lowered his hand letting of D6.
“Ah, screw you. I’m not gonna do anything.”
Craig gave him a questioning glance.
“I know you have only 5 for intelligence but even for you that’s odd. I mean props on taking PC that serious, but have you considered wringing its neck?”
“Hey, Dip, no offence on calling you a dumbass, bro. I didn’t mean that” Eric raised his both hands as if defending himself.
“Yeah, whatever” Dipper reached out for bowl of chips “Let’s just move on”
Craig stayed motionless, his eyes scanning Dipper like he was a walking X-ray machine. Eric was just fiddling with his papers looking at the tabletop.
“What?”
“Are you okay, Dip?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Cause you look like something’s bothering you.”
“No I’m not.”
“Actually” Eric said “you are. Kind of been looking like that for more than a month”
An uncomfortable silence crashed in, covering three friends in Craig’s living room. Only one of them knew what kind of waters this topic was about to approach, but it seemed like everybody was aware. After about half a minute Craig raised from his chair and left for kitchen.
“Dude, is there a girl?” It wasn’t like Dipper wasn’t expecting that kind of question but there was something in how Eric said that. In a way like he could look inside his soul. Some sympathy, understanding actually. And that sent a shiver down his spine.
“Yeah...” Dipper exhaled “there is a girl”
The sound of someone digging through fridge’s insides reached the living room accompanied with a clicking sound of glass bottles.
“Hey, Dip-brochete. You know there’s like loads of girls out there, right?” Eric reached out to place his hand on Dipper’s shoulder “and I freaking bet all my savings that at least a half of them would love to spend even a brief moment with you, man. So you know what you should think?”
“Probably she’s dating someone, isn’t she?” Craig reentered the room holding three bottles of beer in his hands. “Wouldn’t be that bothering the other way, huh”
“Aye, that’s exactly my point, bruh!” Eric absentmindedly took a bottle from Craig “If she’s with some other douchebag out there, what good it says about her?“
“Go on”
“Your face will go on” Eric took a swig “How worthy of being adored she could possibly be if she’s neglecting Dip? Like for real - look at you, bro! Top of most classes, book lover, facial hair grower - you are a full package if I do say so myself. Plus I heard girls can be easily attached to brainiacs.”
“Have you ever been with a lady, Eric?” half asked half teased Craig “It’s not like they have checklists for every boy they meet. They are more of feelers rather than estimators”
“Well that’s just dumb. If a girl just appeals to how heart beats or to how many butterflies come to life in your stomach in a presence of a boy she can’t be trusted”
“Hoookay...good luck with your date for upcoming Prom, mate” Craig chuckled “Anyway, who exactly are we talking about, Dipper? If you don’t mind”
“Oh...um” Dipper could feel the first bead of sweat forming at the nape of his neck “She...she’s not from around, she...I mean we...we’ve met in the park the other day actually, so I...doubt you guys are likely to know her...so...yeah”
“Oh, I see. So, that makes it easier I reckon” Craig placed his bottled aside and laid his arms on the table intertwining his fingers “I mean somewhat distance can play good to you. Would be much more severely if you had to face her every day”
“Yeah, tell me about it..” cold and fuzzy bread brewed liquid was alien to Dipper’s throat yet it felt just right. “Add in seeing that blonde tall fucker around her...”
“Wow, that’s harsh. Some dark feelings detected given the F word, mate” Eric eyes started dimming and filling with more sympathy. “Had a chance to see them together?”
“No...no, I mean...how could I, right?” Dipper started backtracking “It’s not like we’re seeing each other often”
“But what’s about that “You tell me” thing?” Craig started to look bewildered.
“That...um...like c’mon, man...have you heard about instagram? It’s like pretty huge”
“Ah, so there’s a pictures of her and her boyfriend you stumbled upon?”
“Yeah, that’s it...totally” Dipper downed his beverage hoping that its coolness would somehow low the temperature within his cheeks.
“And you keep looking them up?”
“I bet he doesn’t” Eric said “How dumb would it be?”
“So you don’t, Dip?” Craig gave Dipper an incredulous look.
“Well, I...” he started looking up for an excuse but failed instantly. “I...I do...”
Both Craig and Eric threw their heads back and groaned.
“What? What’s so wrong about it?”
“What’s so wrong?” Craig asked back “Dipper, that’s like a self torture”
“Yeah, Craig’s right, man. How can you ever gonna get over her if you keep sticking around? Even virtually.”
“Oh, c’mon, that’s not too bad. I’m not like constantly around her, am I” apparently excuses of any kind were not working for Dipper “Besides, if I couldn’t succeed at least I can...you know, analyze”
“Analyze what? Reasons why she’s with him and not with you?”
“Why not? There’s gotta be something”
“Remember what I said, Dip?” Craig asked “Feelers, rather than estimators”
“Oh, do you personally believe in that, Craig?”
“Um. I do”
“But there’s a cause for every feeling, right? I mean what’s so special about that arrogant always preoccupied dumbass? As if I couldn’t get into an argument with the teacher about some History junk. Or like is playing tuba more lame than playing the guitar? Or...or...”
“Dipper, would you knock it off already?” Craig raised both his hands “Look. There’s nothing wrong about you or special about him. It’s just feelings. You can’t predict them or control...well, if you’re not a manipulating asshole which you’re not but...it just happens you know? Chemistry - that’s all.”
Dipper let out a defeated exhale. Of course Craig had a point. Just like a something came to life between him and Mabel once it happened again. It didn’t manage to smother any of his aching though but it wasn’t meant to either. So once again it was Dipper’s job to make himself somewhat resistant to what he felt around her and that jackass. And there’s no point in comparing him and...
“Wait a second...” Eric frowned thoughtfully rubbing his chin “The guitar, the History class banter...I think I know...Pete Weinberg?”
A quick thought consisting only one word “Shit!” flew through Dipper’s mind. He could feel his heart beating rapidly and palms growing sweatier than they could ever be. He wasn’t supposed to reveal so many details to slip up at this point. Honestly he shouldn’t be getting into this conversation in the first place. He must’ve shaken it off immediately when Eric asked first question. He could just pretend that it was upcoming graduation from school or how frustrated he was feeling when it came to picking up the college because he had to make sure that he didn’t end up choosing the same city with a certain person because she was making him feel...Oh, he we go again, shit!
He was dragged out of his panicked thoughts only by the sound of Eric snickering.
“Oh, sorry, dude” Eric managed to say between the laughing waves. “My bad, my bad. That’s too dumb of me. I mean, that Pete guy, he’s definitely dating your sister, I must’ve messed up! Sorry, no insult intended”
Oh, Eric, bless your soul Dipper thought. He couldn’t believe that he was given such an easy escape at that moment.
“Yeah, bro, what was you thinking about” he awkwardly laughed too loudly. “I thought I had the lowest intelligence here! Speaking of - shall we continue our journey through the park full of pre-historic giant reptilian creatures?”
“Oh yeah, baby! I’m down! Sorry once again, bruh”
“Not to worry, dude, not to worry”
Dipper and Eric took their now empty bottles from the table and started shuffling through papers while Craig remained motionless looking at Dipper with a concerned expression on his face.
                                                          * * *
“So next Sunday, gentlemen” Eric cheerfully proclaimed standing at the doorstep of Craig’s house “Next time the map’s on me.You’ll gonna love it”
“Just don’t mess up your binder and your sister one next time, would you?” Dipper laughed “I hope she now can spell the word “doggie” correct”
“You make it sound kinky man, gah! She’s six!”
“Your face is kinky”
“Okay, that one’s for you” Dipper and Eric exchanged a handshake still laughing “Right, I’m off. See you tomorrow, lads”
“Bye, Eric” said Craig and Dipper in unison.
As soon as Eric took his direction of a sidewalk and Dipper just put his jacket on was about to say goodbye to Craig the last started speaking:
“Hey, Dip”
“Yeah?”
“Um...about earlier. I couldn’t help noticing you acting a bit...weird when Eric mentioned Weinberg so...”
Dipper froze in spot where he was standing, his pupils going wider.
“I mean...Dipper, I am your friend, you know that?”
With a nervous gulp the only reaction Dipper could make was to nod slightly.
“So...I just wanted you to know that if you want to talk to anybody...you can tell me anything. If that helps”
Dipper couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Craig was actually offering him to vent out his frustration and really seriously talk about his messed up feelings for his sibling. Oh, for how long he wished to have such an option. To lay down all his cards and get a third party’s opinion for him to find a way but...
On the second thought a secret for two should stay as it is and not become a secret for three.
“Yeah” he exhaled “I wish I could...”
With that said he shook his friend’s arm and stepped out to begin his walk home.

DAY 3288
Jalsa, Mumbai                     Mar 29,  2017                   Wed 10:31 pm
Birthday - EF - Rajeshree Bhanudas Divkar . ....   Thu, March 30 .. Happy birthday to you Rajeshree .. have a wonderful day and may you keep happy ever ..
The BMC, which is the Municipal body of the city, sent out urgent messages on the net and mobile, that there is a heat wave descending upon the metropolis today, and the next day, and that it would be advisable to keep drinking a great deal of water to keep ourselves hydrated and free from any untoward medical condition .. it could not have come at a more opportune moment  .. I was shooting in the open the entire day .. and yes the sun and the heat was in excess .. so what ..? there were no casualties .. no one dropped to the ground in a faint .. and I had to be delivering multitudinal lines with a heat - inviting shawl over my body .. I survived .. and so did many others ..  end of story ..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No ... this is not what many would be thinking - the Nazi salute ! No not even in my conscious dreams would I make such error .. or attempt ..
It was just giving the DOP behind me, the position of my hand .. nothing more !
We needed some extra scenes for the film, and that is what it has been all about for the entire day ..
Hahahahahaah ... the Aussies have had a most humiliating defeat in the recent Test series .. and they have been desperately trying to either belittle the Indian achievement, or make most unsavoury and ugly remarks, personal in nature .. particularly against our Captain Virat Kohli .. and this coming mostly from the Australian Fourth Estate ..
( all this emanating from the PC that Virat held after one of the games, where he stated that some members of the Aussie team had resorted to unfair means on the pitch .. implying, not naming Steve Smith, their Captain, when he had sought help through gestures with his dressing room mates, on whether he should go for a DRS or not .. DRS being a reviewing system that traces the computerised playing of the game to help in giving and correcting any decision by the umpire, if the opposition felt he was wrong. Its like the ball tracing in Tennis games when the linesman gives decision and the player seeks a review .. now a very common engagement in today’s sports - technology taking over human power . The incident was immediately observed by the Umpire on the  field who intervened and stopped the unlawful act about to be committed .. this is what Virat rightly spoke about in the PC .. Mr Smith obviously did not like this and from then on, many different kinds of behaviour incidents kept occurring .. most repulsive of them all being, the mocking of Virat’s shoulder injury that he developed while trying to stop a boundary, falling awkwardly on his shoulder, having to leave the field, without playing any more .. thereafter every time an Aussie fielding at the boundary fell to save a 4 or a 6, he would get up and hold his shoulder, to mock at Virat’s injury .. even when Indian batsmen got out , the mode of displaying their joy was to mockingly hold their shoulder )
A media output gleamed about their observation that “Virat was the Donald Trump of Sports” .. I acknowledged their observation and complimented them on their acceptance that Virat was a winner, and indeed the President of the sport ! I am not sure why the Donald Trump comparison came up, but I would assume that they were in fact quite chuffed by the DON .. or was it otherwise ??
Yesterday a prominent player from Australia, Mr Brad Hodge, insinuated that Virat was not playing the 4th Test in Dharamsala, because he wanted to play for the IPL, thus getting the much needed rest and recovery after his shoulder injury  .. an attempted ploy on the part of Virat, to stay away from the Test so he could recover for the IPL - a more lucrative enterprise ..
I corrected his insinuation by stating to him that this was not true .. Virat stayed away because he wanted to tell the Aussies that even without him, India would give them a resounding walloping  .. which they did, so convincingly ..
Hahahahahaahaha .. heha aaa ..
Australia lost hopelessly .. they were beaten in every department of the game .. part of gamesmanship is to accept defeat in a most gentlemanly manner, compliment the winners and get on with life .. but they never did that .. they are hopeless losers .. pathetic in their attitude and desperate to put some lame excuses on their embarrassing loss  !!!
Today another Aussie media output has called Virat an ‘egomaniac’ !
Ya .. Mr Aussi Media, you observe right .. any Captain that has whipped your team thoroughly and convincingly, needs to have an ego .. and needs to be maniacal about it .. you got a problem with that ..??
Dear me I have raved and ranted for too long ..
Good night .. and be with smile and happiness ..

The Hayden Kho Chronicles
The Hayden Kho Chronicles
I wasn't about write my thoughts on this issue anymore because this was supposed to be written two weeks ago, same time when Adam Lambert lost to Kris Allen and would have had a title 'What they lost this week'. But same old problem again of me not being able to juggle time between sleep, work, stalling, tv, frustrations on Cinema Tycoon 2 (which has in my own opinion would not have passed if I was the SA of that game, that is if that's what you call on game projects) and more sleep. But this certain issue has hogged offices, tv, and even thru quotes whoever in this country haven't heard of that scandal must be living under a rock at the deepest trenches of our oceans.
As i've told multiple times, the office downstairs has a ratio of 5 males:2 females (the other female is older than the rest of us and has kids. also before there where 6 men). Need I add still unmarried testosterone filled-men who secretly exchange porno (literally) at my back. Well at some times it's obvious.
One of which was this so called Kho-Halili scandal. Or much more apt, the Kho Chronicles as I call it. Well you see there was this link online, downloaded and spread at our office. The 10th floor IT found copies of the video a day or two after my mates at the 4th already feasted on it. Then the haunt for the next scandal was on, and stories of pirated stalls selling DVD of the scandals not meeting the 'demand' of the merchandise. I even remembered one said that there was this one stall that said *'Wala nang Hayden-Katrina Scandal dito, bukas na lang'. I've also heard people on public transports talk about it, there was one who have claims to have actually purchased the so-called DVD for 200.
I think I'm a moral-person the least and being opinionated that I am I can't help but have these thoughts on these people and if given the chance (and courageous enough to tell them in their face) what I'd say to them:
The Filipino Masses - always curious and never wanted to be left out. They always find it uncool especially if they haven't known about this and that. They'd always be like - 'You haven't watched it yet?!' Plus with the technology nowadays, anything can be shared to anyone so effortlessly. And you know how Filipinos are. They love sharing. There was even one time back then when there was this infamous flash drive who I don't know who owns making rounds on all the pcs in the office.
The Media - again. Not only do they cause the hype but they instigate the fire of curiosity on everyone. Not that I'm saying that they've caused all this drama but they have their part. No need to say more to that.
Hayden Kho - so far with all the sidetracks this guy and his mom are causing he sounds like this guy I know (I know some of you are) who are Pilates at heart, everyone's to be blamed but not yourselves. All I could say is that the nerve of him. He only has balls on his videos but never on his reasoning. The issue here is not on the drugs or whatever next alibi you'd ever come up with. I knew someone who personally knew this guy back when he was still in college. From the story I learned that you weren't even appealing back then. With that I thought he must be an insecure person who need assurance that after a probably bad younger life needed some proof that he, who was once a nobody, can 'jug and sex' women most men of his age could only dream about. Such a lame excuse for a man. Grow some spine dude and stop acting like you're a victim here. Yes I've heard of the blackmailing and all but what, a collection of videos? How can you be a victim when you purposely recorded those videos without consent?! Have you heard of the Edison Chen scandals? He was a far better man than you could ever be because he admitted and showed remorse while you are actually competing for sympathy! If you really wanted us to see that you are genuinely sorry for this hype you've caused then show it. You can't even ask for forgiveness for crying out loud.
Katrina Halili - I haven't been watching too much news on the tv (again, by the time I reach home it's already primetime shows) but I've seen snippets and is always informed by officemates on the updates. I genuinely feel sympathy for you and I am proud to say that I can gladly say, 'No, Katrina, I haven't seen your video. I haven't and I'd never.' Yes. I haven't. The lady has my respect since the day I saw her cry on this other issue she had with another local actress. With what I found about that small encounter was that she may be a bitch on tv but she's plainly truthful on her relationships and she's very emotional in terms of the people she mingle with. To conservatives they may tackle the issue of her having sex out of marriage but that we aren't in the position to judge. It doesn't mean that she consented on doing it serves her right that she's done it. It just so happens that this guy has issues on his own and unfortunately she's a part of it.
As a woman I feel bad whenever people argue like is she (Katrina) all whining about when her video wasn't even that clear unlike the Hayden-Maricar scandal. And that why is she all being defensive about it when she is, after all a sexy actress. I think that both way of thinking are so uncalled for. It doesn't matter whether the video wasn't as clear as day, or whether she's a sexy actress or not, the issue here, is still, having a supposedly private moment intentionally recorded without the consent of the other party. And that is just it. No need to dig deeper onto the drugs part (though that is a different story) or to the fact that the relationship Hayden has with Katrina was in his belief, nothing more than like that part up there 'jug and sex'. It's not an excuse why he'd do that in the first place. Keeping videos of those women he had sex with are like trophies of some sort for this guy and that is something, yes, well happening and probably would give everyone the idea of why not make videos of ourselves too? Like 'let's beat Hayden's record and show the world we are better men'. Such people are so sick and so full of themselves the only thing they know they could prove their manliness is when they do that. In the end they only make themselves pitiful.
*'There are no Hayden-Katrina Scandals here for now, but it will be available tomorrow'

Are you one of those people who constantly finds an excuse not to workout?
Then this article is for you! We all get those days where working out seems like a mountainous task, and allow our minds to formulate various excuses. Excuses tend to be a frame of mind, look below at the top 10 excuses and information on how to overcome this mindset; you know you will feel better for it!
                               10. I Don't Know How to Exercise
It’s a fair point, but certainly not an excuse. There was a time I didn’t know how to add, or ride a bike, or use a PC. But we learn, that’s what we do, and no-one is too old, or too young for that matter, to learn. With the wealth of information at our fingertips and gyms on every corner, there is no excuse for ignorance. Consider some of the options below if you are a beginner to the game.
The Internet – Hordes of information available. Just Google something like “Fitness workouts for beginners” or “novice workouts” and you will get a ton of results.
Group Exercise – Follow the movements of a professional either in person or from your living room(Youtube). If you don’t like the idea of going to a fitness class by yourself, persuade a friend to go with you.
Get a Personal Trainer – Enlist the help of a professional at a local gym. You don’t have to train with them forever, but they can be an invaluable source in setting up a diet, and a solid routine to get you started and build confidence. Once you are comfortable, then proceed on your own.
Ask Someone at the Gym – It’s quite flattering when someone asks me what exercises I do for my traps or why I’m doing Spider Curls. Don’t be timid, the vast majority of people at the gym are there for the same reason you are, because they want to be healthy, and will be most willing to help.
9. I've Tried But Keep Quitting Because...
People often quit working out for a variety of reasons:
Overdoing it – Start slowly. Your body takes time to adapt to any new training stimulus. Hitting the gym 6 times a week will leave you burned out and exhausted. If you’re completely new to exercise, 3 x 30 minutes workouts a week is a great starting point, build up from there!
Confusion – You’re at the gym, now what do you do? If you don’t have a plan, you can be left confused and wondering what muscle parts you even worked. Hire a trainer, research beginner’s workouts. Once you have a plan in place, you will be a lot more confident and capable as you progress through your training program.
Boredom – Switch it up, it’s good for you! Doing the same routine for over 2-3 months can not only lead to boredom but can be detrimental to your progress. Your body adapts to any training stimulus over time. Work different body parts with each other, research new exercises, use different cardio machines – if your mindset hits a plateau, so too will your workouts!
Soreness – Soreness is a good thing! It means your muscles are growing, if you feel a little sore in the morning, great job! However, over-soreness is not so good. If you feel this as a beginner, lower the number of repetitions/sets you are doing, or the weight you are lifting, or both.
Always take time to let your muscles heal !! Never train a muscle that's still painful, trust me I once had 400lbs come crashing down on me whilst leg pressing because of just this. Not fun, but I know better now!
Not Seeing Results – This one gets its number, see #7 below!
8. I Can't Afford to Workout
You don’t have to join a gym to workout. Although the social aspect and support you get there is invaluable, there are more cost-effective ways to stay in shape. Also, try to find local clubs which are non-profit organizations, their membership can be relatively cheap compared to the mainstream gyms – you can even get a government assistance program membership. Here are some other no-cost/low-cost ideas:
Walking/Running – A brisk walk or jog in the morning can set you in good stead for the whole day; and the best thing -  it costs nothing!
Free Facilities – Head to the ballpark and throw some pitches with the family. Most subdivisions have free facilities, tennis courts, swimming pools, etc. Find a local basketball court and shoot some hoops.
Inexpensive Multi-use Equipment – Such as exercise bands, cheap and you can work your whole body with them. Smaller dumbbell sets are also cost-effective ways to get a good all-body workout. Exercise balls are also cheap and great for core work.
Workout at Home – There are so many resources available; you are reading from one right now – the Internet! Local libraries have books and DVDs on working out, follow exercise programs on TV, make up your workout plan, or put on some music and jam!
No Equipment Training – You don’t need equipment to workout. You can get a full-body workout using your body weight as resistance. Squats, Lunges, Push-ups, Close-grip Push-ups, Lying Torso raise, Four-Limbed Staff Pose (Google it!) – The point is you can train any muscle group in your body without equipment!
So you can afford to work out at little or even no cost to you. Not an excuse!
7. I'm Not Seeing Results
Firstly – what are your goals; are they realistic? It can take up to 12 weeks for your body to show noticeable results, are you giving it enough time? Yes… then consider the following:
You’re Diet Sucks! -  80% of your results will come from your diet. Training is like lighting a match – that’s your workout, but if there is no wood to keep the fire alive, the flame will quickly dim. You need to fuel your body with the proper nutrients and division of calories and supplements. This varies as everyone is an individual, has different goals, and responds differently to caloric intake.
You’re Overtraining – The number one reason. It seems stupid, but there is a peak that your body reaches when working out, at or around 47 minutes for most. After this, your body's Cortisol levels shoot up, leading to diminished results or even overtraining = muscle atrophy.
You’re Under-training – Ok, so the opposite of the above. Are you breaking a sweat, are you pushing enough weight. Are you recording your previous week’s results in a log and trying to beat them the next week? Training logs are essential tools for progressing in any fitness program.
You’re Doing the Same Thing – And your body is adapting. This period can take anywhere between 1 and 3 months. Try switching up exercises. Switch from mass gaining to conditioning, you have to keep shocking your body with a new training stimulus to ensure progression.
You’re Not Getting Enough Rest – This one is huge, and affected me the greatest. If you’re not making progress, you try harder, you workout more, right? Wrong. Not only do you stunt muscle growth, but you can also over-train to the extent where they shrink. And the most negative side effect – you will be extremely prone to injury. Your muscles need time to heal. Your body needs time to regenerate optimal levels of Testosterone and Cortisol. As a general rule, I only train a body part once per week, so I know it is completely healed and can hit it hard the next workout.
You’ve Lost Motivation – Most likely because you’re not seeing results, hopefully, the above points will aid in overcoming plateaus and in re-establishing your motivation. If not, consult #4 below for a more in-depth discussion about keeping motivated.
6. I Hate Exercise
Ask yourself what you think exercise is – an hour sweating away on the elliptical or 45 minutes of bone-breaking weight lifting?
Drop the stereotypes. In this day and age, there are hundreds of ways to work out and stay in shape. It doesn’t have to mean a laborious trip to the gym. A few examples below:
Group Sessions – Most gyms now offer group workouts, a great place to make new friends. Whether it be yoga, boot camp, kickboxing, aerobics – there are so many classes available
.
Workout with a Friend – Exercising with someone else is always fun! Ask a friend to hit the gym, go swimming, or jog the track. No rule says you can’t socialize whilst exercise!
Nintendo Wii – Really, you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your living room anymore! Spend time with the family playing Wii Sports, let that competitive side come out!
Exercise from Home – Take the dog for a brisk walk frequently, walk to the store instead of drive, mow your yard, and save some cash! There’s also a huge selection of cost-effective equipment to help you workout from home, from free-weights to skipping ropes to full-blown cardio machines like treadmills and elliptical trainers.
Fitness Apps – Yes, you can even download fitness applications for your iPhone and other Smart Phones. Get fit from the comfort of your phone!
The key is to find something you do enjoy, something that fits your life and personality. If you’ve had a bad experience, don’t give up, try something else!
5. I Have to Take Care of the Kids
This one is a good reason to exercise. In the US, the percentage of overweight children is growing rapidly. At least 1 out of 3 currently considered overweight or obese. Kids have lots of energy, use their energy to inspire you, take them to the park, go swimming, hit some balls – use their energy to motivate you to exercise. At the same time, you are setting a great example to them that exercise is fun, and also money can’t buy – good health – not to mention a good, uninterrupted, full night’s sleep for everyone!
If they are too young to join in with the fun, consider the following:
Day Cares - Many Gyms now also have day-care facilities. Join one!
Share the load - Let the spouse or a friend babysit for an hour whilst you train!
Split Your Workouts up - If you don’t have long periods you can workout, split up your workouts, 30 mins in the am, and 30 mins in the pm, instead of an hour straight. This will keep your metabolism up longer, great if you are trying to lose weight or tone up!
4. I Can't Stay Motivated
The first thing we need to do is figure out why you have lost motivation. Is it a lack of results, or are you overtired? Stressed? Does exercise seem more like a chore now, than something you enjoy? The following bullets help with the most common “fails” of motivation and how to get back on track:
Set Achievable Goals – Its great hitting goals but know your limits and set goals appropriately. If you're a beginner, you will find your progress goes very quickly in the first month or so. It’s going to get harder, whether you’re losing weight, bulking, or toning – don’t expect the same results from your first 1-2 months. Exercise is like an elastic band – the further you stretch it, the harder it gets to stretch – but it sure as heck snaps quickly back when you let go!
Make Workouts a Priority – We’ve all been there. Going to skip one day, which leads into 2 days, into a week… etc. You know how important working out is, you know how great it can make you feel, and you know if you stop – it’s going to be damn hard to get it back. So place as much importance on making that workout as you do on eating, playing video games, or hanging out with friends.
Don’t Do Too Much – This can be the most de-motivating factor. Too much can cause pain, frustration, a decrease in progress, and worst of all, injury. Make sure you’re getting enough rest; limit your exercise to a decent amount of time, no more than an hour on weights or cardio in one workout.
Document Your Workouts – How can you determine your progress without writing down what you do? Can you remember every set, rep, and weight lifted from last week, 2 weeks ago? Document and try and beat last week’s results, try and beat your friends, try to (safely and with good form) press your PB. We all have a certain amount of competitive spirit. Whether it’s competing with yourself or others, use competition to keep motivated.
Switch It Up – Change things around, work in some new exercises, find a workout buddy, train different body parts together, do slow reps instead of fast reps, tone instead of build – anyone is going to lose motivation doing the same thing over and over.
Get a Trainer – 2 motivators in one. Firstly, you will be accountable for your progress to someone, not just to yourself. This can be a huge motivator, trust me. Secondly, you are paying for this service – you want your money’s worth right?
3. OUCH!!! Exercise Hurts
No pain no gain, no hustle no muscle! 3 types of pain – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Stay away from the last 2 :
The Good – When you wake up, get out of bed, flex your muscles and say to yourself, hey, that feels good, that feels like I worked out.  A little pain is ok, it’s good. It means the muscles are growing. As long as it’s a “comfortable” pain, if there is such a thing, suck it up!
The Bad – When you wake up, get out of bed, and collapse because your legs can’t support you, along with writhing pain in your muscles. This is when you say to yourself, ok, over-did it a little. Give your muscles extra time to heal and do not work out that body part again until all the pain and discomfort have gone, plus 48 hours. Pull back on the length of workout and weight lifted.
The Ugly – You don’t even make it to bed, because you are in the hospital with a torn pec. Make sure you do warm-up sets, don’t lift beyond your capacity, and don’t substitute good form for weight. If you ever feel any kind of twitching or anything other than the resistance of the weight - stop, stretch out that body part, call it a day at the gym. Go home and Ice, or apply a topical solution for strains. Rest, rest, rest – stretching in between, and feel good you’re not that person laid up in the hospital. Most serious injuries are caused by people ignoring the warning signs.
2. BLAH! Exercise... I Don't Need Exercise
Life expectation – not just expectancy, but for disease-free, comfortable living. Who wants to get to 65 and not be able to enjoy life after we’ve worked so hard to get there??
Overall Health – Exercise can lead to a stronger heart, lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and can minimize or even revert diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes. There is also strong evidence to link exercise to the prevention of cancer, most notably colon and breast cancer.
Stronger Immune system – Like feeling sick? Then maybe exercise is not for you after all. Exercise sweats out toxins that can lead to illness. Moderate exercise has shown to increase the rate of immune cells float around your body, killing bacteria quicker.
Better Sleep – Nothing better than a solid night’s sleep, and that feeling of being rested in the morning. It also aids people who have trouble falling asleep.
Brain Cells – Proven! Exercise stimulates not only the growth of new brain cells but also the bond between those cells. Get smart!
Stress Management – Exercise releases endorphins into your blood – the natural happy pill! Endorphins give you a better overall sense of well being.
Bone Strength – Weight-bearing exercise increases bone mineral density and greatly reduces the chances of serious injury from the result of a fall or accident.
Confidence – If you feel good about how you look, it shows. There is nothing better in the world than someone telling you how great you look, well maybe apart from…
Better Sex Life – Had to sneak this one in! Apart from the obvious physical attraction, enhanced endurance, and cardiovascular function can lead to better sex. Additionally, men who exercise are less likely to have erectile dysfunction and impotence.
1. I Don't Have Time
The worst excuse of the bunch, and sadly, most popular. I purposely listed #2 above this one to link the importance of your time to the benefits of exercising. I believe, even the busiest of us can justify some time to exercise if the result means receiving all the above benefits.
Exercise is an investment in yourself and your future well being, both from a physical and mental standpoint. The benefits of exercise are indisputable. Just 30 minutes, 4-5 times per week, can reap all of the above benefits. You owe it to yourself to find or make, the time to maximize your investment in your health and well being – you owe it to your family and loved ones to commit to being fit, healthy, and able for many years to come.

The WHY, the HOW, the THEN, and the NOW
The why is almost always the same I think. Sure, some variation here and there, especially for the people who started in the beginning, but now it’s mostly the same even if people don’t want to admit it. It’s the idea. The idea that someone could record themselves doing the thing they love to do the most, playing video games, and make a living doing it. A good living, an “easy” living. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe some people really do it just for the fun of it, but I don’t think so. Especially now a days.
That’s why I’m doing it. I’m not going to claim that I’m some kind of  saint and I’m just in it for a good time. I want money and an easy life too ya know? I mean, so many people don’t want to admit that, but why? Is it really so bad to want to make money doing something I love? Aren’t we all kind of after that in one sense or another? I think so. I’m not gonna hide behind lame excuses, I want to play games and make money doing it. And take mid day naps, cause let’s be real those are the freaking best.
So on to the how. How does one get started in this biz? Well, getting off the ground and making videos is pretty darn easy, if you have a little cash and time to learn a few new things. First you need a gaming machine, most people end up needing a gaming PC of some kinda though there are work arounds. And a mic, because while people do put up videos without a narration those never get too far if we’re being real here. Internet is, I would think, a given. And then you need some games to play. If you’re on PC, recording software can be free and the games can be cheap, so it’s not THAT horrible, but of course nothing good comes for free. A camera to see your face would be nice but is hardly necessary.
So now that you have all that, now what? Well there’s the process of learning of to set up a recording and making sure it all runs smoothly. This seems to be at least somewhat luck based, as some people seem to never have issues and some people are plagued with them. But with trail and error, most problems can be overcome. And then of course, you need to figure out the user interface of getting yourself up on the site you want to be featured on, whether that be Twitch or Youtube or wherever else. Not totally intuitive but with a little playing around and some common sense (or googling) it’s easy enough.
So, then we come to where I fit into this story, and what you’ll be reading from me if you decide to sit in on this blog from time to time, my story. I don’t know if anyone will ever read this, or if I’ll ever achieve my goal of being among the Youtuber Elite. Probably not. But I’m going to try and write it all down anyway. maybe it’ll be nice to look back someday and remember this period of my life where I tried something silly, or maybe I’ll look back as I near a billion subs and remember fondly how it all started. Who knows for sure?
I started my channel in February of 2017, though the exact date escapes me and I’m too lazy to try and look. My first subscriber was someone by the name of Igor. Thank you Igor for randomly finding me in the chaos of Youtube. If I ever make it big maybe I’ll do something nice for Igor someday. My first video was a test recording turned full on recording of a small game by the name of Happy Room. It wasn’t intentional, I wanted my first upload to be something a little more symbolic of what the channel would be in the long run, but it flowed well and I like it. Of course the complete lack of editing and horrible commentary plague that video like a virus, but it’s mine and I’ll love it just for that. From there it was just a ride down hill. I was originally shooting for 2 videos a day, everyday, with a 2 week back log just in case I needed a break or vacation. That 2 week backlog was lost very quickly though to my own laziness and inability to stick to a schedule (and wake up early enough before work to record and upload something). It was an unfortunate decline that never had a chance to go anywhere but down. But it was a learning experience. I learned staying ahead of the game is everything and that I should set realistic goals and strive to meet them. My goal now is 5 videos a week, Monday through Friday. Since I came back this last week from a vacation to Seattle (my favorite place in the world btw) I’ve managed to keep somewhat ahead. Honestly the most limiting factor to me staying ahead of my upload schedule is my crappy internet that some days just doesn’t work and my disdain for editing, which I’ve been trying to find ways to make easier. But I’m keeping up and for now I suppose that’s enough.
My time on Youtube has put me through some very interesting emotional rollarcoasters that have no intention of ending anytime soon. When I started I was so full of glee. I could just see myself sitting down to “do some work” at my computer, never having to return to the hell hole that is working for minimum wage and tips, and just soaking in all the glory of being a Youtuber for a living. But as the views stopped going up and I wasn’t able to keep up with the uploads, I found myself desperate for an easy button. I wanted some kind of key advice that would make the whole thing easier or at least instantly boost me to 100,000 subs so I could just quit my job and spend all day recording and uploading. No such luck (imagine that, no easy button for life). As I lowered my expectations things got a little more bearable and I was able to keep up a little better, but then the melancholy set in. Why wasn’t I getting tons of subs and views? How did anyone else ever get to where they are now? Am I doing this all for nothing? Should I just quit and be sad quietly? These questions still haunt the back of my mind some days. I don’t know what the solution to them is, so if you’re here looking for that answer, I’m sorry. This isn’t a guide, just a telling of a tale.
So what does the future hold? I don’t know any better than you do. I write this an upload for today goes up, and I have till next Monday already recorded so that’s nice. Just gotta edit them and get them up. I feel cautiously hopeful. Maybe I’ll never be big but I can at least get my uploads on time to all of my 25 subscribers. It’s something. And I have all kinds of games to play. And I mean, even if being a Youtuber isn’t as glorious and life changing as I hoped it would be, I still love a good game. So that’s a way to look at it right?
I’m still looking for my golden ticket. I still want to just hit the easy button and just ride to the top where I can be rich and get new computer parts on a whim and not look at the price of things on the menu at a restaurant. I want my easy way out. But I realize it’s not coming. And I’m ready to dig in for the long haul. Maybe I’ll only be a YouTuber for another year or 6 month or maybe I’ll keep trucking along for a few years, who knows. What I do know is, being a Youtuber has made my days a little more challenging and a little more interesting, and that’s worth something at least.
Till next week, I’m the Milkman, and I hope you have an amazing day.
