I don't know, I just really like the idea of a reverse!robins au, you know??? Just little baby Dickie being an absolute menace to a slightly older Jason, and just being completely obvious with his little (huge, enormous, really) crush on Jason, and just Dick being a possessive and jealous little shit as a kid, before they started dating just cracks me up. And like everyone knows about his crush, but they all think its so cute and innocent, and it'll probably go away, right???? Right???? Something like this probably
https://www.tumblr.com/mlim8/691663407306440705/i-want-to-say-how-much-i-love-your-reverse-robins?source=share
https://www.tumblr.com/mlim8/681971460563140608/jaydick-week-day-3-reverse-robins-soulmates?source=share
So I think I may have answered an ask with similar vibes here. (: Here's some thoughts inspired by the first link though! Super cute vibes, kudos to mlim8!
Dick emulating Kon because he genuinely believes Kon is the definition of c o o l g u y. Like, how else could Kon land Tim? The man is playing out of his league; he's a legend. Peak aspiration. Of course Dick is going to be smitten with his older brother's cool boyfriend; Dick needs to learn all the tricks of the trade. He's got his own babygirl to win over. C:
(The term 'babygirl' comes from an overheard conversation and while Kon laughs about it, Tim gets so embarrassed. Despite how he tells Dick to not say that, Dick refuses).
Anyway, Kon? Thriving. Some might call his moves cringe, but Dick is so earnest and hopeful and Kon feels like fucking superman no one can touch him. ;U;
Damian nagging both Tim and Jon about Kon's influence on Dick because Dick won't listen to him; he can't be deterred and Damian is losing his mind over how Dick keeps winking and finger gunning and throwing out these truly terrible, punny lines at Jason and ahhhhhhhh
Basically Damian not liking Kon because of the impact he's had in Dick's life. It's created a hassle for Damian, but more than that? Big brother might be a little jealous. ;3;
Extra detail: Damian didn't like Kon even before Dick came into the picture because he became a distraction for Tim. It's an ongoing argument between Damian and Tim, actually. Damian is convinced Tim keeps Kon around for the sole purpose of annoying him (this isn't the case, but Damian is convinced)
Tim scoffing about it and telling Damian that his envy is showing. Just get laid, damn.
Which Damian gets indignant because no )<
To which Tim smirks a bit and purposefully badgers, 'Alright, Brother Complex (affectionate nickname), if you're threatened by our baby brother stealing Jason from you, then—‘
And Damian hisses because shut up, Drake. Fuck forbid father hear such crass speak omfg Damian will bury Tim himself.
Jason does have a crush on Damian though. The brother complex goes both ways. Or rather, it's a transference sort of deal for Jason that lingers big time because in this verse, Damian chose to save Jason from Joker, consequences be damned. The point stands, Jason is very sweet on Damian.
When Dick realizes this, devastation. Betrayed by his own partner!? Because...maybe Damian would have a similar batman stint where Dick was his Robin?? Yes.
Anyway, Dick refusing to talk to anyone, even Jason. Which is how they all know Dick is distraught.
So despite how it pains Damian, they send in the b i g g u n s: Kon. (:
Who hypes Dick up so hard. Just a bro looking out for his little man, y'know? Kon might hype Dick up a bit too much though because when Dick finally leaves whatever high nook he's sequestered himself away in?
Dick walks right up to Damian and challenges him for Jason outright and the family is caught in a perpetual state of ∑(゚ロ゚〃) because omfg Bruce is right there watching this play out and Jason is his babygirl, first and foremost.
But Damian accepts the challenge if it means having his brother back. And Damian, the sap, kneeling and drawing Dick in for a hug because fuck, having Dick be mad at him? Someone so happy and hopeful and wonderful? It was like a stab to the heart ngl.
And yes. While Damian's brother complex persists, there's zero intent to act but he still plays into this challenge of Dick's because it's highly motivating for the little punkass twerp.
Meanwhile Jason is just...there. Dumbfounded after Dick winks and shoots finger guns his way with a declaration of: 'you're gonna fall for me some day, babygirl.' But don't worry, Dick will catch him.
And Tim groans because Dick, please.

ARE YOU AN ASPIRING ACTOR AND INTERESTED IN HORROR? IF SO, PLEASE READ:
Hey all!! I'm Tim, the creator of the in progress Slenderverse series Anniversary Log. Anniversary Log is a free volunteer project my crew and I are creating for fun. It takes place in the Slenderman Universe and follows protagonist Sam Moreno's search for his missing girlfriend Emilia Hall.
I wanted to tell yall that auditions are open again. Now that my break is over, (I was going through some self doubt and missing motivation for my project and made a brash decision to drastically change it which has now been revoked) we'll be resuming the auditions for Marina Collie (koh-lee) and James Haddonfield!! If you're interested, here are the requirements below:
-must be 18 or older
-follow our YouTube channel
-must be okay with showing your face/using images + videos of yourself (basically like you would be a real actor)
-must have a flexible schedule (or at least be free weekends)
(Your information will not be shared with anybody, but your full name will appear in the credits)
This role is not local!! Any footage we will need of Marina or James will not have them interacting one on one with the main characters. They will be interacting only over phone calls and maybe (emphasis on maybe) over video call. We will also need to use pictures of you (your best ones!!) to use to create convincing social media posts and other intriguing things my crew and I have in mind for the series!!
AUDITION PROCESS:
Once you sign up (with the link I will provide on this post) you will receive your audition script once I have completed it. This will give you a few days (up to a week) to memorize your lines (if you would like) and practice by yourself and with the others in our Discord (pm me for the Discord invite or I will send you an email with the link when you sign up)
From there we will begin PRIMARY AUDITIONS where you and the others on the Discord will wait in the waiting room while the casting directors (myself, Emilia and Sam) are on the call. Once we call you in, you will perform with either Sam or Emilia (depending on which role you're going out for) and once you finish you may leave or stick around to offer the rest of the auditioners support!!
It will take a couple of days for us to release the CALLBACK LIST, but you will either receive an email with the new script linked or an email with a polite let down explaining other roles you have an opportunity for or crew member positions.
Callbacks are usually held no later than a week after primary auditions.
Callbacks work just the same as the primaries. The role is usually announced right after the performances, but if we can't decide it may take up to a day or two after.
BEING AN ACTOR IN OUR SERIES
Marina and James are minor characters in our series, so you will appear occasionally in a few entries as well as referenced in others. (Whether that be your character name is mentioned or you're shown in a picture). You will have opportunities to work one on one with our acting coaches (me as well as a few others) as well as have the opportunity to join the BTS Anniversary Log Discord chat as a CAST MEMBER. This is where all crew discussion as well as plot explanations, costuming choices, props and etc are kept. You will also be able to have VIP access to the script writing processes as well as the editing processes.
If you receive the role, you will be shouted out on our social medias (here and Twitter) as well as thanked and listed in the series' credits. If you could also support us by posting about the project and spreading awareness so we can grow our audience (regardless if you're casted) that would be wonderful!! (But ofc making sure you keep all the plot and scripts and things a secret 🤫)
If you choose to audition, you have the chance to meet a bunch of other auditioners (some from previous auditions) and learn more about the process. (I promise this isn't a scam, we have held auditions before :)))
Thank you so much !! (Links are below)

What aboutSkSw!Link? Do you think he had moments where he questioned if everything between him & Zelda were genuine or Hylia subtlety swaying him? Do you think he was mad at Zelda and/or Hylia? And do you think he was afraid that he and Zelda’s relationship would forever be broken?
While Link and Zelda's entire relationship was orchestrated by Hylia, I don't think Zelda calculated her every move. Keep in mind that she had absolutely no memories of her life as Hylia before the fall. She had to regain them at each spring she went to while traveling with Impa. That means every single day, up until she fell out of the sky, was a day that Zelda lived authentically, as herself.
So as far as Link is concerned, Hylia and Zelda are separate entities.
Remember when Zelda pushed Link off the edge of the island while his Loftwing was trapped? Maybe I have different standards for what is considered divine and human, but I really don't think Hylia would have done that. Like sure, Zelda might have had faith in Link to survive but it's not because she had that divine insight he'd be a hero chosen to eventually destroy Demise, it's because she knew that Link had a Loftwing to catch him.
It's for that reason, as he went through his adventure, Link did not once question Zelda's integrity. He did not see her as Hylia using him, even when she told him that she remembered a different life before this one, but as Zelda who needed him to be there for her when no one else in Skyloft would. If anything, he saw her as a victim of Hylia too. She grew up as her own person all this time with her own dreams and aspirations, and the invisible phantom of her ancestor took it all away.
(If it wasn't clear enough, Link isn't exactly pleased with Hylia's planning, but if it weren't for her, Zelda would not have existed to begin with. He begrudgingly acknowledges that, at least.)
As for whether he feared his relationship with Zelda would be broken, I think the Link we see and know is very, very stubborn. Whether that's unique to him or not remains a mystery, but Hylia must have foreseen it somehow that he would not give up on the girl ever. The hope that he will find her and protect her, the faith that they will be okay no matter what obstacles come their way, are huge components of the unbreakable spirit Zelda had him temper.
In short, Link never entertained the idea that his relationship with Zelda would be broken. That would have broken his resolve to pursue her, which in turn would have damned the Surface. Maybe their relationship would change, that he was aware of, but he would be there for her in any way she would have him. If not a lover, then a friend, if not a friend, then her knight. Just somewhere beside her side, if she allows him.

how about a general analysis of a seer of void? :o
hi hi! ok so, this one ended up being kind of all over the place and doesn't cover Everything, so it's kinda more like my "random stuff" answers, but i hope it's helpful in some way! feel free to send in another ask about any specific things i didn't mention that you might be curious about!
ahem. a seer is someone who knows their aspect. they use that knowledge strategically to give themselves and others an advantage - they conceal or reveal it at their discretion, and their choices in that regard can have widespread effects on a session.
they're kind of like your classic mentor archetype who teaches or reveals knowledge that has a big impact on the plot. that doesn't mean they have to be actual teachers or academic types, it just means they typically orchestrate events indirectly, or at least tend to excel when doing so. (that's unrelated to combat, though - rose and terezi show us that a seer can be quite a fearsome foe when needed!)
void is the aspect of the unknown and unseen. it deals with absence and lack, irrelevance and unimportance, nonexistence and obscurity, loss, and all things hidden. it also touches on potential, which kind of ties into nonexistence - if void is everything that doesn't exist, then it should be within a void player's power to utilize those nonexistent things. this makes it a very vague and broad sort of aspect, covering anything that isn't, while also relating to things that are but that you just can't see or don't know about. (if a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, can a void player manipulate the sound?)
follow me under the readmore where i'll explore the combination of these components! :3
a seer is usually someone who, for one reason or another, seeks out their aspect in some way. this could be because they lack it, like with rose, who was deeply affected by the absence of things like attention, relevance and clarity in her life. her mother's actions were inscrutable to her, the knowledge of what exactly her guardian was doing or what she meant by it always eluding her (even though in reality it was usually fairly straightforward and there weren't any secret motivations to uncover - so some parts of this lack of aspect could probably be perceived instead of actual).
for a seer of void, they could lack privacy, maybe, forced into the spotlight. or in a similar vein, it could be secrecy/confidentiality they want. but this seeking of aspect could also be for a multitude of other reasons - regardless of whether they lack void, they probably still desire to find it, possibly due to a sort of idealization of it. terezi was dedicated to JUST1C3, a concept tied to the mind aspect through the link between choices and their consequences, while rose aspired to appear knowledgeable and perceptive - seen with her dabbling in various aspects of literature and psychoanalysis - as well as showing a fixation on the idea of relevance with her quest to give meaning and importance to her seemingly doomed session (and definitely also with the psychoanalysis again, pestering dave semi-ironically about dream symbolism and freudian slips.)
a seer of void might just really want to live up to an ideal of mystery and intrigue. they might value that sort of thing highly, and in that case it would probably be an important part of their overall philosophy. maybe they're a very theatrical sort of person who's always waiting for the right moments to dramatically reveal a plot twist they'd kept hidden. they could enjoy keeping others in the dark, being the only one who knows important info, and in that way they may be a bit of a manipulator, though not necessarily for nefarious purposes. on the other hand, they might not know any secrets at all, but they deceive others into thinking they have information and power. they'd be a master of bluffing, lying about what they know in order to convince people to tell them things. lies of omission would be right up their alley too, i imagine - what they don't say turns out to be just as important as what they do say.
or, to take it in a different direction that's more focused on potential and hidden things, perhaps they strongly believe there is a hidden meaning or purpose to everything. that could look a lot like rose in some ways, but maybe instead of trying to discover the meaning behind things, they're more the type to see meaning where there is none and not investigate further, instead just seeking out things that seem to have some secret to them without considering whether they really do. they may struggle with chasing after red herrings, be convinced an item has special powers just because it looks like it should, or fall into despair when it turns out that one terrible event really did happen for no reason. that concept could tie into the fact that a seer's hubris is inevitably their downfall, even if only temporarily; the seer of void might lead their team on a wild goose chase, thinking there must be something at the end of it for sure and turning out to be wrong, wasting everyone's precious time. it also plays on the whole "seer of nothing" thing, since the path they thought would help was actually more or less just an unlucky guess.
expanding on that, maybe they don't seem to have any special sight at first. they could be overcompensating for that by examining everything way too hard and convincing themselves that there's some secret or sign to be found everywhere they look. it may even be that they are seeing signs, but that they're signs of what could potentially be, not what is, and they have to learn to see the path to making that potential into a reality. that might sound kind of seer of hope-y, and it could probably work for that too, but void and hope kinda overlap there - i distinguish "potential" from "possibility", with potential being the ability/capacity for something that hasn't happened to happen, and a possibility being a specific outcome that could occur but might not. so a possibility has the potential to happen! but it definitely doesn't need to be defined that way - these things should be interpreted in whatever way feels right to you.
it's also worth noting that it can be a little hard to distinguish a seer of void from a seer of light. they could have near identical abilities or tendencies, depending on the person and how they view/approach their own aspect. i think paired aspects like light and void are more similar than they are different, and it really shows here. that being said, i'll give some brief ideas for powers here in the next paragraph, since this is getting long:
first of all, night vision, obviously. more esoterically, they could be able to navigate locations they've never been to, precisely because they're unknown - they're the knower of the unknown, after all, which makes things a little redundant (and also hard to pin down in a way that doesn't make them straight up omniscient). being able to sense when someone is lying, telling a half-truth, or deliberately leaving things out. maybe looking into their eyes makes you want to tell them your secrets/be honest! i feel like they could potentially be able to see entities like brain ghost dirk, since he "doesn't exist", or maybe even ghosts because they're incorporeal? they might be able tell when something Isn't present that Should be, seeing absence. like, they can just sense (or even visually see) that there's supposed to be a book in this specific spot on the bookshelf and oh look, finding the right book and putting it back opened a secret passageway! :0
hopefully this doesn't suck too bad x_x it's 5am lmao

I hope you are well.
Just wanted to tell you I love Back to Eclipse. In fic their was scene about ginny, bathtub and Tom. That was so creepy.
I love how different Harry and Tom in Ginny's life. Tom's diary always brings her pain and harry comfort.
In your analysis of yew wand you explained ginny is representation of life and Tom is of death(one of your best analysis). I think It fits in Ginny's life too maybe.
Many think Tom was like abusive ex. What do you think about that?
Also i have been listening to Taylor's would have could have in which there is line "give me back my girlhood it was mine first" dunno why it remind me of ginny and Tom.
Anyways will love to hear your thoughts on this scene. Also this has such a great imagery harry holding her from behind, ginny keeping her eyes shut and the back and forth between past and present.
Thank you (Sorry for a long rant).
TW: discussion of self-harm
[For those who haven't read the story yet -> Back to the Eclipse ]
I love that you love Back to the Eclipse and that scene!! It is creepy, isn't it? It wasn't even planned originally, it just came to me while I was writing about Harry and Ginny's fight. I had this visual of Ginny in the bathtub with blood and with a white nightgown and I needed to bring it to the page. I won't get into a personal rant about my original writing but it's a very me scene.
The whole matter of Ginny and the diary is a very fascinating one that for targeted audience reasons could never be fully explored in the books, even if in each one there's at least one reminder of how dark and twisted it was and how Ginny brings it with her all her life (with the exception of GoF because it builds to the Lucky you scene).
Tom in that scene I've written is setting up a suicide attempt for Ginny, even if in my idea he didn't actually have the intention of killing her at that moment, it was "just" psychological torture. In CoS, when Tom talks to Harry in the Chamber about Ginny he's so taunting, he makes fun of her. Even if you think about the fact that he makes her write with blood her own death sentence, you can find this element of unnecessary torture for the hell of it. A show of power. So I imagined it wasn't rare for him to do something like that. You can even interpret it as an experiment for what he will do in the Chamber if you want.
One of the main inspirations for this scene was the concept of suicide in ancient Rome. Suicide was considered a right in roman culture. Because while life was a right it fell under private law (it didn't work like that in ancient Greece for example). And in certain situations, it was an honourable act as an alternative to perishing at the hands of someone else. Now I'm not going to get into detail but, for example, when the senators wanted a fellow senator dead, they made him understand that he was going to die anyway, and out of respect, they gave him the possibility of killing himself, to have control over his own death. The cut of the veins was a pretty popular method in the tradition of the great figures that ended their own life. Maybe the most famous one is the one of Seneca.
This "tradition", and especially Seneca's episode, became my inspiration for that scene because Voldemort is a European dictator, or well, at 16 an aspiring one. And if there's something all European emperors/dictators have in common is an obsession with the roman empire. But I also thought it was quite fitting as a show of that weird co-dependency between Tom and Ginny. He makes fun of her, yet he knows her, and he is close to her. He tortures her but he sets up a scene that links that act back to something that was considered honourable.
[for the love of God, don't hurt yourself, people, there's nothing pretty or honourable about it, if you need help, ask for it]
I think Would've, could've, should've by Taylor Swift is a really powerful song that is quite fitting in this situation of Ginny and Tom. Yet I have to disagree on the matter of seeing Tom as an ex-boyfriend. I understand the parallel, but I think it comes from a line of thinking I disapprove of, the idea that the greatest betrayals and heartbreaks come always from lovers. Tom was Ginny's friend, her only friend. She trusted him, and she opened up to him, he was older, wiser, and charming. And he manipulated her. The implication of romance is not necessary, opening up to someone requires putting yourself in a vulnerable position, and that happens with friends too. There's nothing weird in suffering because you are not friends with someone anymore, whatever the reason is. There's nothing weird in suffering because a friend backstabbed you. It doesn't need to be romantic. It's not that the parallel of the toxic ex-boyfriend is wrong, but I find it often unnecessary.
But back to the scene I've written.
The presence of Harry. First, I have to specify that he's holding her from the front, I don't wanna take credit for things that I'm currently wishing I had written. That said, one of the things I really wanted to do with this story was showing what Harry does for Ginny. It's in the books, but Harry's pov tends to reduce the impact of those moments. So I wanted Harry to be there for Ginny, and be sensible about the matter, calming her like he does when she's worrying about the potions' book for example.
Something that I also find very fascinating is how Tom and Harry are arguably the two most impactful male figures of Ginny's life (until her sons) and how they are so connected and yet so different. The parallels between Tom and Harry are an explicit storyline of the books as much as their enormous differences. And you are right in referencing my analysis about the yew wands, like for Harry when it comes to Voldemort and Ginny, Tom and Harry are for her diametrically opposite things that still hold a connection. Tom is her darkest past, and Harry is her bright future. Tom is hate, and Harry is love. Tom is the guy that leaves her unconscious on a stone floor, and Harry is the guy that helps her stand up and tells her everything is going to be alright. Tom is torment, Harry is the guy who after seeing his mentor die still worries about how Ginny is feeling in regard to Bill being attacked. And I really enjoyed bringing this contrast to the page. I'll never get tired of saying that Ginny Weasley is built as a main character, she's just not the one of the story we've read.
I hope this was exhaustive enough! And please don't apologise, messages like this make a writer's day.

"Why Jpop?" archive links
Ray Mescallado was the foundational influence on how I view fandom, and I have linked and reread this particular series of posts countless times over the years. Given that all of his blogs are now offline, one can only find these posts with direct urls to put into the Wayback Machine. So here's the compilation of what may be the best ode to "Cute Japanese Girl" sub-cultures on the internet. Part One: An Introduction
And sometimes the question creeps on me unbidden: Why does my taste in music suck so much? Are all those cute, unattainable Japanese teenage girls worth such a price? So what is it about Jpop exactly? Do I really think the music sucks? (No.) Do I think it's inferior to the music I used to listen to? (That's a case-by-case basis, isn't it?) Is it really just because I like to watch cute teenage girls? (Um...) Am I becoming a Japanophile and just refuse to admit it? (Well...) There's a bunch of different reasons - as well as some "natural" conclusions which aren't as natural as people may think.
Part Two: It Ain't Because of Anime
In my head, anime and Jpop inhabit different imaginative spaces, different kinds of pleasure, from one another.
Part Three: The Rules of Attraction
Like hip hop's more commercial side, it seems more honest - more bracingly refreshing - to consider music as part of a larger system of commerce and art. Taken in that perspective, refusing to take advantage of all the performance and marketing possibilities is both stupid and self-destructive.
Part Four: Kawaii Sexy Kakoi
Popular culture becomes a way to express and contain individual wishes that would run against community wishes. However, it isn't a fulfillment of those individual wishes - rather, it inhabits an imaginative space that's very distinct from reality and reality-based aspirations.
Part Five: The Cult of Authenticity
The pose of authenticity doesn't fit into something as brazenly artificial, as something aggressively commercial, as Jpop. And in a culture where so many people strut to seem "real", when the word real has to be placed in goddamn quotation marks to denote the pose and not the actuality - well, the warm smile of Jpop's open capitalist ambitions is a welcome relief. (And perhaps it's even more compelling for non-Japanese, who are able to isolate the Jpop experience from the larger commercial matrix.)
Part Six: Shiny Happy People
Strangely, then, Jpop is a great way to keep me grounded about the world around me. Or at least not be such a self-righteous prick about the people and situations around me.
Part Seven: The Collector
Because the best part about Jpop collecting is that we're talking about idols here - performers who want that kind of attention lavished upon them. It's difficult to imagine someone becoming an idol singer and claiming, "This is too commercial. Maybe we shouldn't do a commercial for Pocky or Chupa Chups - it'd ruin the music, the integrity of our sound."
Part Eight: That Whole Japanophile Thing
A strong interest in another culture is often considered suspect, a sign of some intense dissatisfaction. We live in an increasingly global world, but there are some people who want to narrow that global view out of one kind of myopia or another: the myopia that claims one's native country is the best and nobody can say otherwise, and the myopia that claims some other country is the best and so I'll make up for having such a shitty native country by acting like a jackass in worshipping that other, idealized country.
Part Nine: Concluding Remarks
If there's anything to be achieved from prolonged examinations of pop cultural preference, it's a widened awareness - a heightened sensitivity - to the fine points that make popular culture so powerful... and ultimately, so contentious. I don't expect that explaining why I like Jpop means other people will go, "Aha! Now I have the key to enjoying something I'd previously thought was caterwauling commercialized crap. Thank you for this invaluable service, Ray."

A thought I wanted to remember
Today a dear friend of mine told me that he was pulling his three self-published novels from storefronts. I had two thoughts when this happened:
What the fuck. What happened
NOW I HAVE THE ONLY PHYSICAL EDITIONS (For those that know me it isn't surprised my brain acts this way)
I was deeply saddened by this news. He told me the reasons and they made sense, but it still left me sad. He had put a piece of himself out there, and now he was pulling it back in. I was sad, because others won't see that piece, and I was blessed with seeing it.
My friend has self-published three novels and one poetry book. He has long since pulled the poetry book, a collection of teenage era self pitying lines, and I happened to be the only person who ever bought a physical version to keep its memory alive.
His three novels were literary evidence and improvement over time. His first book, Walpurgis Hallow, was a "80s horror love story" that had gone from a short story written in Creative Writing class to a full fledged novel.
Was it good? No. Was it interesting to read? Maybe.
Due to the nature of being originally posted to Wattpad, each chapter did not so much flow into each, as feel like individual beginning middles and ends to a story. It was also bogged down by things like: overly long character dialogue, page long speeches about concepts that had already been resolved and a distinct lack of understanding on how to right a climax or fight scene. Ultimately I would compare chapters to a Telltale Adventure game episode.
His second novel, "Shadows over Walpurgis Hallow", was a step in the right direction. It was written with one complete narrative in mind and shows, no longer a collection of smaller stories, Shadow attempted to be one cohesive narrative.
Did it succeed? Mostly. Did I still enjoy it? Yes
It was a tighter story that ultimately showed off the characters and ideas better than the 500 pages of the first novel had done. However it still suffered from some long dialogue sections about repeated conflicts from the first book and a climax that felt more "and then they won" and less "and this is how they won".
Which brings me to the final one: "Walpurgis Hallow III". This book took the longest to write, with the most revisions of any. Originally thought out as a spin-off story about alternate dimensions, it morphed from a days of future past rip off, to a battlestar galatica rip off to the final story that was published. And I helped every step of the way.
For anyone who is a aspiring writer would know, finding people to read your work can be quite difficult. By virtue of being one of five people who had read books one and two, I was strong-armed into helping read through drafts of book three. And it was a journey. The first draft (days of future past) was completely scrapped early on with only a few ideas from it held on. Draft two (as we came to call it) was the first one that had a beginning middle and end, however, around the middle it started to completely unravel. Due to deteriorating mental health of my friend the author, it became a confusing and ultimately scrapped mess. Draft three was the final one and the one that worked the best. We had taken most of the first third of draft two that worked, rearranged event to make more sense and created what was his best work.
Since then he has worked on a handful of fanfiction stories set in the Halloween universe and a couple new novel concepts that for one reason or another didn't work out.
I'm sorry I don't have a link to share with the world about these novels. I would love to tell you to go and read them and support my friend. But I can't, and that was his decision to make and as his friend, I support him.
So I hope everyone will raise a toast with me to Walpurgis Hallow: a series nobody knows, but I hold deep in my heart, written by: A younger....stupider.....brave man.
p.s. The friend I speak of actually spends a lot of time one tumblr and I follow him on here. I doubt he will ever see this and honestly that's good, want to keep those who know me personally as far away from these ramblings. But if this somehow ends up in your hands friend.....know these words come from my heart and I will always be there to help with your next project.

I went to your select and I saw The Divinity and I was STOPPED IN MY TRACKS !!! Tell me everything about them or die by my blade!
(( YES she is one of my fave ancestors, I will gladly talk about her >:)
So! A little background info is that the Zoshaps in general I wanna sayyyy was my second linage made for a fan session?
& With in that session The Divinity completes her life goal (of becoming immortal) but becomes a living statue!
She gets put in a museum :)
I'mma put the rest under read more bc i Talk >:)
but for BLOG The Divinity things go a little different!
Things still mostly follow her original timeline. Which is that the aspiring rust blood doctor, Hectate Zoshap started to get noticed for her cannibalistic tendencies in her busy small town. It reaches a point where she's about to be caught and tried, but instead is swooped up by her then friend (later matesprit) a male fuchsia!
(This male fuchsia was a friends, who is no longer into fantrolls? So he's an NPC until I either make her a new husband OR someone comes to me and wants one of their ocs to be her husband)
Though the real issue with Hecate, is that sadly, she was never quite mentally stable or ever fully 100% there, even as an young adult. But as she lived with her now matesprit, and as she progressed in her career as a doctor as the sweeps passed, she still continued to mentally deteriorate even with her desperate stranglehold on trying to appear normal.
(The Divinity's specific area of expertise is documenting the variants of internal body parts of trolls between castes & how to work with them, since I hc each blood to have slightly different placements for that kinda stuff among other things.)
The Divinity really only becomes The Divinity when the delusions start to attack her particularly hard. She started to crumble and started to see herself as perfection, and as a god, but not fully one since she hadn't reached immortality.
Along with this her obsession with dolls also starts as in her mind they become linked with being perfect and being immortal (This is when she starts painting her face.)
But The Divinity needs to reach immortality to be truly Divine. So her obsession quickly grows and becomes all consuming. She starts to run tests, take in trolls she deems perfect, and tries to find what what makes them tick. (Ones that she particularly likes, she turns into dolls, both living dolls that become her and her husbands servants, and those who are simply not alive.)
(Somehow her husband loves her through this all, what a guy.)
& That's kind of where we are current day?
She only has true love for her dolls and her husband, but she also isn't outwardly rude to others? She's just cold and distant unless she finds them perfect, or they strike a nerve.
So she's a bittttt volatile which is why I don't rp her alllllll tooo muccch?
---
OH
one last bit of info tho that is Interesting that I'm confident I'm maybe keeping for sure?
or I think it is <-<
I did (kinda) implement the start of the Zoshaps line, that being The Jointed (so The Divinity's ancestor...ancestor x2!)
& The basic story of The Jointed is that she was an ancient troll goddess of suffering and death, and came to death herself on Alternia. Due to that what made The Jointed herself, spread across the timeline of Alternia, and would sporadically gather enough of herself in one grub to make a Zoshap
and while the Zoshap would be their own troll, in The Divinity's life, she has enough of The Jointed in her, to know that she should be a god and isn't. but she doesn't know why.
& because she has so much of The Jointed in her, and still being a mortal troll, she isn't able to fully to cope with it, which is why her mental issues are so present?
2 much god soul dust in mortal body, f
Though I DO keep flip flopping on this bc i dont know if its too much for realzies and if i should keep everyone truly mortal, and have their linage just suck and fail

Hey, I'm the anon that follows you and @ilikedetectives & expressed interest in getting into this, as I was admiring your work. I also had asked about your setup & the way that you went about capturing the shots you did. I decided to take the plunge with what I had for now & started posting a few of my own, as both of you have inspired me. I was hoping to get a critique from you on what I have so far, and if there was anything in particular I can improve on. I asked Colin's advice as well, & they helped me out a lot.
Thank both of you for being so talented & an inspiration to me. Y'all opened my eyes at a different level, and I'm so grateful for that.
Hey there, thank you for your kind words, and showing interest. Always love to see new aspiring VPs joining in the fun, so welcome.
I see that your current focus is on black and white photography, which is a good starting point, and very promising. Try looking into high contrast scenes if you can. You can also edit the contrast in post processing software (Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop, Snapseed). Maybe you can look into highly detailed textures. Today many games offer some impressive details for black and white photography. You can also play with black and white portrait photography to evoke some dramatic effect. Black and white photography is great to heighten raw and deep emotion if that's what you're into. And with some play of light and shadow you can effectively change the mood of your character.
I'd say overall keep playing around, find your comfort zone, and progress as you go along. You'll know when you feel at ease, and you will eventually evolve in your skill.
One last thing, this isn't much, but it's a good read and a better explanation than I can ever give (link).

Hey Cat!! I hope you're doing well as always ! 💖 AHHHH huhu I closed the form last Sunday since I've collected enough responses dy! (NOOOOOOOO ToT) I got a total of 221 responses at the end of the week, which is 3x the amount I initially needed! :o I'm beyond grateful and appreciative ToT I've cleaned the data and have proceeded to run some data analysis, but I ran into an issue whereby the scores on the subscales are equal (it has never been reported in past studies! :O) so I'm waiting for my supervisor's feedback on how to proceed. Hopefully it's nothing too serious ToT
Hehe finance is interesting indeed! I just started reading a book on finance for young adults (Rich Dad Poor Dad) and I look forward to learning more from the author's tips! The Coursera introductory course has also made financial terms a lil more familiar, even though it's just the basics and it's really helped w my financial literacy 🥺 I can push myself to study but it's also the numbers and calculations I'm worried of cuz I am rly a nong (idiot) when it comes to numbers * - * it runs in the genes I guess AHAHAHAHA my mom and sister aren't good at numbers either keke
Aww I'm glad yr professor made financial accounting enjoyable and a fruitful experience for you! Some lecturers / professors rly just have that spark in them to inspire ppl and I'm blessed to be surrounded by a bunch of em in the psych department!🥺😭 it truly makes a difference and I'm sure we both are living proofs of that!
After debating for a while, I've decided not to take a minor mainly because I'm so tired HAHAHAHAHAHA and I'll just do my own self-studying and exploration whilst working! Go out and explore the world, live life! Whilst ironically still staying in my room because of the COVID-19 situation in our country (cases are abt 20+k every day :') ) My proposal has been finalized and it's been accepted! It's just that some elements of my proposal is also part of my actual report, so I have some guidance to refer to in terms of structure! :3 and yes don't worry! I got plenty (sometimes a lil too much) rest during the sem break whilst remaining productive! Plus, I got to catch up w some friends and had game nights (maybe too much of game nights hehe) and movie nights w my friends which was truly refreshing! Also cuz I might not see a lot of them again after we graduate so we gotta cherish every moment 🥺😭
I'm a freelance graphic designer for my uni's newsletter! Occasionally, they'd ask us to create both the content and design! I'll place the link to my recent work below if you wanna check it out! UwU I'm trying to incorporate the same practices during sem break in my last sem (current sem) too! cuz yes mental health is so so important and I'm just tired of being academically tired you get me? :(
What makes me most trilled abt learning abt psychology is how to apply it in daily life too! I find it so fascinating and awestruck at how relatable and within reach these things are like wow we can be influenced in such ways?? :o can be both good and bad but imma stick w seeing it as the development and evolution of us humans UwU
Also, the vaccine has fixed my sleep schedule HEHE (another perk of getting vaccination :3) I got some rly good rest and managed to reset my usual sleeping time, thank you science ToT oooo I see I see, we've had cases of nurses injecting empty syringes hence the recording :( but GHIOGHWEOGIOHW I could never do that, I can feel the liquid entering me as it is so that's good enough ToT (* plays Love Talk * I can feel it coming)
OMG YOUR ART PIECES ARE SO BEAUTIFUL, ADORABLE AND ELEGANT! 💖🥺🥰 it must've required a lot of hard-work and effort AHHH thankiew for showing me yr work!! it's truly unique in its own manner despite it's simplicity UwU is there a reason or backstory to yr chosen theme and objects? :3
I just Googled Somi Somi and omg that's such an UwU ice cream AHHHH 💖🥺😭 ice cream is my fav food of all time and it looks like an ice cream haven omg imagine eating it after a loooong hard day's of work ToT and OMG THE SATISFACTION OF EATING THAI MILK TEA ICE CREAM ON A HOT DAY YASSS 😋🤤 hehe if you get the chance to try milk & biscoff, do try it! It's amazing !😍 and ooo i haven't tried alcoholic ice cream before but I will one day!! :3 my alcohol tolerance is rly low though, will I get tipsy over alcoholic ice cream? We shall see UwU (i can only drink half a bottle of apple cider before my face gets red and I start getting a lil tipsy + headache)
and lovie....knowing yr school schedule now...OURS IS DEFINTELY BRUTAL OMG a 3 month long sem break huhu that's only the total amount of sem breaks we get in a year ToT i thought uni was hard but not that hard ToT
Always glad and honored to have you onboard! and AHAHAHAH the contractions about to start soon 👀 I enjoy talking to you huhu you're such a sweet and supportive person 💖🥺🥰😙 huhu for my period cramps, I've been having them since I was 12 ToT my doctor prescribed me some panadols but sometimes I can't even swallow them cuz I'd puke them out ToT I've settled w heatpacks to reduce my reliance on medicine, but I finally got some upgraded and safe to eat medicine from my gynae! She said it's fine to take it every month to keep my womb healthy and apparently my ms. lil uterus is suffering from inflammation, hence the super crazy bedridden cramps :( the upgraded medicine worked for a while, but after time it kinda didn't help either :/ but I realised that exercise rly does wonders to reduce the cramp too (gynae also recommended exercising) so i take walks and do my back stretches more frequently now! my period in the previous months (2 months ago) have been almost painless and bearable, it's so weird not seeing my bedridden ._. when I was in high school, there would always be a day in every month in which I don't attend classes, and that's solely because of my cramps. It just isn't worth suffering in school, plus we don't have a sick room :/ I hope the pain continues to subside! ToT
And ayy internship is also working experience, yr advice would be of great help to me regardless! 🥺 oh yes, I always remind myself that interviews are similar to the speaking test I took for my Cambridge English exams! That kinda help calm my nerves down a lil, but w nerves comes bigger smiles, so I guess it takes on a rather practical form of coping mechanism (sublimation) AHAHAHAHA
WAAAA WHAT A QUEEN you got an offer from every interview?? I aspire to be like you! 💖🥺🥰 huhu skill wise I believe I have lots to prepare esp in terms of case studies, and I perform rly poorly on certain assessments (*ehem * esp those concerning numbers) so I took the chance to study a lil during sem break too ToT but noted on that! I will work on that too and try to maintain that me element in interviews and overall just be myself keke
That's all from me for now! Imma wait for my supervisor's feedback and journey on w my last semester. Bon voyage! Link to my recent work: https://www.instagram.com/p/CTBqGzjr6sN/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Other works: https://www.instagram.com/p/CPpv-IyM7Gi/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link https://www.instagram.com/p/CL55EG-MbL2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
hi hello honey bee !!! 💓 omg i'm so sorry for the belated response, i finally got on my laptop 😭 i'm gonna put my response under the cut since it got a little long 🤧
omg 221 responses !!!!! that's so many 🙀 congratulations aaaaa it's amazing that you were able to get 3x the data you needed !!! was it difficult to run data analysis? were you able to solve the issue with the equal scores on the subscales? i hope it didn't create too much additional work for you ):
omg yes finance is really interesting! i enjoyed the classes i took for it :') how is rich dad poor dad? did you learn a lot from it? i know it was a book my prof recommended, but i never got around to reading it 😶 did you learn any helpful tips? and ooo i'll have to look into coursera! yeah, there's quite a lot of terms for finance, and it can be a little intimidating paired with all the math formulas and such, but it's pretty useful imo! how are your financial studies going so far? 💕 omg nong is such a cute word?? i would never think it meant idiot asdkfhlkajsdf omg my whole family is good at numbers and really like math, but i didn't like it 😭 my mom made me study it a lot everyday though rip are the financial calculations getting easier for you as you practice more hopefully?
yessss omg i absolutely agree with this!!!! like you can just feel when a professor loves to teach and is genuinely so excited to talk about their subject, and it just makes the most boring horrible subject into something you learn to enjoy and hate less :') and i'm really happy to hear you have tons of professors like that in the psych department 🥺💗
that's great to hear!!!! 🌷🌷 i'm glad that you're prioritizing yourself and your health, which is so much more important than taking on a minor. what fun subjects have you decided to explore and self study so far? 💞 oh my gosh, the rising cases are so high?? i hope it's gotten better there for you ): are you able to go outside yet?
big congratulations on your proposal being finalized and accepted, lovebug !!!! 🥳🥳 i'm very proud of you and hoping one day i can read your published studies in a scientific journal :') aaaa i'm so glad to hear that you got to rest and enjoy your time with your friends!! i definitely feel that omg i regret all the times i skipped out on movie nights or game nights with my friends because now we're all scattered across the country and the only way we can have them again is over zoom calls 🤧
I SAW YOUR DESIGNS AND THEY'RE GORGEOUS OMG I LOVE THEM SO MUCH !!!! 💖 I'M IN AWE AAAA IF PSYCH DOESN'T WORK OUT, I HOPE YOU BECOME A GRAPHIC DESIGNER 🤩🤩💖 and yes i totally get it ): i really felt the academic burn out when i was in college and it was really difficult at times 🤧 but i hope it's going better for you nowadays, sweetpea 💝💝
omg yeah i absolutely agree !!!! whenever i read about psychology, i keep it in the back of my mind and then when i see something irl that relates to it, i'm like :O amazing. it's so cool to learn about different psych tricks too and see how it works when you test them out yourself and whatnot. and it's really crazy to see how the human brain is so easily influenced at times ??? it truly is an amazing subject !!!
ah what a great side benefit of the vaccine - a better sleep schedule 🤩 i'm happy to hear that your schedule has been fixed 💘 and omg what ??? they're injecting empty syringes wth ????? 😭 that's absolutely horrible, are they getting sued?? lmaooooo that love talk reference askdfhlaksjd
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR KIND COMPLIMENTS 😭😭💗💗 there were many late hours spent in the art studio to finish them, but i'm really happy with the end products :') i thought light bulbs are an interesting subject to do, and my prof said that cutting out circular objects or sculpting them is the most difficult since they're made up curves and not straight lines and i was like ok bet i'm gonna do it aND I'M SO GLAD I DID BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE THEM 🥺 and i love honey bees !!! that's why i decided to paint them and we were supposed to paint them in a combined style of two artists so i tried monet's impressionist style with the short brush strokes and pop art triptych style like marjorie strider 💕
somi somi is sooo good and i just had it again a couple weeks ago :') omg ice cream is your favorite food? :o and YES ice cream is so satisfying after a long day of hard work, like it's such a nice reward to look forward to at the end of day ✨ aaaaa i have to try thai milk tea ice cream one day now !!!!! it sounds amazing 🤩 and YES i must look for places that sell milk & biscoff ice cream !! i have milk ice cream from somi somi, but i need to try to combined flavors 💘 i don't think you'll get tipsy over it !!! it's a really faint taste of alcohol, like i didn't even notice it at first, and i don't think they put very much of it in there! aksljdfhals omg you're a lightweight :o at least that means you save money on alcohol LOL i need like nine shots to get drunk 🤧
your school is too hard 😭 you need more than just 3 months of break !!! 😡 we get a week off for thanksgiving in fall semester and a week off for spring break in spring semester too and then the month long winter break and three month summer break. and we have the one day holidays off too like labor day, memorial day, etc. i can't believe they give you so little time off after working so hard???
asdfhlkajshdlksja loool are the contractions over yet? has it been born? what's the current status, doctor? 👀 i really enjoy talking to you too !!! i'm very sorry for the late responses, work is really taking over all of my time, and i never have enough time to get on my laptop to reply to my asks 😭 and thank you for saying such kind things about me 🥺🥺💝 oh my gosh, i'm so sorry to hear that you have such terrible cramps 😭 i can't even imagine going through that - mine are nowhere near as horrible 😖 do the heatpads help a lot? i'm relieved to hear that you were prescribed better medication though! but yeah, your body does eventually get used to the medication and you have to continue taking stronger meds for it to work, but that's not a very healthy solution /: but i'm really glad to hear that exercise has been helping out a lot!! 💖 hurray for almost painless and bearable periods 🥳 i'm sorry to hear that you had to go through that in high school ): that sounds absolutely horrible 😭 periods are just awful, but it's like i'm grateful that i have my period because that means i'm not pregnant, but also please go away aslkhdfaklsj
omg what was the speaking test for the cambridge english exams like? :o it sounds so formal and a lil intimidating askdjfhalsd do you know of any psych tricks that can possibly help calm your nerves? :')
aaaa yes i did !! i was really surprised that i got an offer from them all because at the time, i was not in the right major and i think i was one of the most underqualified applicants 🤧 one person who interviewed me asked why i withdrew from my engr physics class and i explained it in a kinda funny way but in my head, i was like "oof i'm not gonna get this offer anymore" but then he laughed at my response and told me about how his prof told him he should drop a guitar class he was taking because he was doing very poorly and we bonded over that aklsjdhfkals omg how do interviews for psych jobs go? do you have to discuss a lot of case studies? do they give you a list of possible case studies they'll ask about? :o what sort of assessments do you have to do? good luck on all of your interviews, honey bee 💛 i'm rooting for you, you're gonna do amazing !!!! 💘
omg what did your supervisor say about your case study? and how is your last semester going? are you almost done now? 🌸 (also how have you been? what have you been up to? thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed messages for me, i'm really excited to see all the fun updates in your life, lovebug 🌷🌷)

Rio & Nancy
Rio: Have you started the comp sci homework? Nancy: Started like I've been staring a blank screen for the past 15 mins, yeah sure Rio: 😏 Rio: this is why I ask you and not Jun Rio: his 'did it the day it was set' just isn't relatable Rio: so we have to create malware/spyware detector...in theory, is this not like, showing us how to make the opposite, and make it less detectable Rio: don't mind me, just wondering if I can object on the ground of my ethics 💁 Nancy: if I was at my old school I definitely could've objected on the grounds of my smaller female brain Nancy: so it's worth a shot Rio: of course there's always that Rio: but the last thing I want is extra private lessons from Sir so Rio: it just gives me the creeps, rather leave it to the tech gods to keep me safe Nancy: he only thinks he wants a private lesson with you, he'd soon change his mind Rio: The trick is to hide the extra costs so they barely notice, know what I'm doing, thank you 😉 Nancy: you do, he's the clueless one 😉 it'd be sad if he wasn't miles older than all our parents Rio: Bless his cotton 🧦 Rio: he seriously is clueless to what he's started here Rio: I've already got some weird emails to my student account with fake links and nonsense Rio: have you? Nancy: no Nancy: what do you mean weird? Rio: you know, wrote like any other spam email except we aren't meant to get anything but school-related emails on these accounts and never have before so it's obviously not legit Rio: I'm not clicking the link, even though no doubt it's just some SHOCKING porn or whatever the lads think is hilarious 🙄 Nancy: 🙄 of COURSE Nancy: explains why I haven't gotten it, like Rio: Although a surprise 🍆 would be much more offensive to you, not how their minds work, when at all Rio: I'll ask Keish and Shan, but they might have a different project in their class Rio: not enough 🤓 friends Nancy: maybe they think I'll respond with some kind of terrifyingly HUGE strap on pictures to make them feel even more inadequate than they are Nancy: it's not the worst idea except for the necessary gathering of said pics would be really 😳🙈 Rio: *various phallic vegetables in a mandoline* Rio: yeah, it's definitely tempting to show they haven't done their own homework but I would need to finish mine first for that #flex so Nancy: it's my man-hating lesbian duty, after all Nancy: as is us working together to finish, in the spirit of girls supporting girls and not a purely selfish one on my part, like Rio: Hmm, we'll pretend coding isn't maths-based Rio: or that it's your forte, not mine 😏 Rio: I'm just so distracted rn Nancy: nothing academically based is my forte, which explains me being distracted, why are you? Nancy: other than the prospect of porn, obviously Rio: That's not true Rio: all the 🎨 shit you and Jun does would blow my mind Rio: and does there need to be anything else when porn and a decent internet connection are involved? Yeah, so -- random drop-in who wanted to see Marty and “catch up” now that Marty was a Rising Star. I didn’t recognize Kai, but Marty was willing to chat, so I set them to it -- and then I got an idea. Jennifer got a voodoo doll from Emmett way back in the day, and I had yet to use it. Perhaps she should go back to her Chief of Mischief ways for a bit and torment the fellow?
And then I actually opened up the “bind to” menu, and Marty was the only viable option. Hmmm. Well, okay -- maybe she could do something nice to Marty? I went ahead and bound the doll, then had her try cuddling and tickling --
Turns out, that doll does not take any of this witchcraft lying down! I had no idea they could actually threaten their holder with their own pins! Jennifer managed to talk it down, so to speak, but that bit of poppet magic was definitely unsuccessful. So she was left kinda embarrassed, and Marty kind of uncomfortable from the attempt.
Perfect state to be in for the start of their weenie roast! XD Then again, this is Sims -- it wasn’t THAT hard to overwhelm their bad moodlets with good ones. Marty went out and got the fire pit going while our guests arrived, and Jennifer started grilling as I tried to gather everyone for a group story to fulfill some of the party goals.
And ran into my first problem of the night -- Sims are both incredibly fickle and incredibly stubborn at the same time. Namely, Marty spent a good portion of his evening standing around waiting for Nikal to get her ass off HIS computer so he could tell his story about vampires! Not even canceling the interaction and restarting it helped! It seemed like this party was doomed from the start. . .

Rules: Answer 21 questions and then tag 21 people who you want to get to know better.
tagged by @elizabethsyson
Nickname: Muggle is my nickname, but when I went by Muggle in person for more than a month at a time, it naturally got abbreviated, usually to Mugz
Zodiac: Aquarius
Last movie I saw: into the spiderverse (same answer as last time. I don't watch that many movies tbh except around Christmas. unless YouTube counts in which case... music of some sort? idk links for the next answer)
Favorite musician: changes by the day. I've kinda been in an acapella and/or folk music mood recently so the Maccabeats and Peter Hollens are in my YouTube and Spotify history a lot recently. also I'm eternally in awe of Forte Handbell Quartet (eta a longer video; i recommend skipping to the techno piece or the Jurassic Park theme)
Last thing I googled: "vine why are you buying clothes at the soup store" (my wife hasn't seen it; also i can't find the vine because apparently it's a much bigger meme than I realized). before that it was "chgrp not root" because work and group permissions are useful when they work
Song stuck in my head: well for most of the day when I haven't been actively listening to something, it's been the Pokemon RSE route-walking music. (but that somehow happens frequently when I'm in the no-music-no-internet room at work, as I was for most of the day, and I don't know how I accidentally trained my brain to make that connection). right now, surprisingly, I don't have any background music playing in my head. I think it's because the humidifier provides just enough white noise that my brain doesn't feel the need to provide its own
Other blogs: my main is @muggle-the-hat and I'm a mod on @why-do-neurotypicals but we've gotten one ask ever so that blog has been dormant for a while. I have a bunch of other sideblogs, but they're all small and I use different screen names on each of them (enby life: no idea which name suits me best so I may as well try them out) so i feel like it would just confuse things to link them.
Following: blogs matching all the themes of my sideblogs, (including this one, which is writeblr), korean langblr, jumblr, assorted fandom blogs, authors of my more favorite fanfictions (some overlap with other categories), and irl friends and acquaintances (including one fandom blog turned irl friend)
Do I get asks: on my main if at all, which isn't really surprising because i have hundreds of followers there and maybe 60 followers combined among the rest. but I get asks far less often than I reblog ask memes so... I'm always happy to get more. I do get tagged in ask games more on this one, but writeblr is actually vaguely organized about tag lists so that makes sense. also I used to get tagged a bunch on my main and I rarely could find the posts again to follow up when I had time to answer.
What I’m Wearing: pajamas. staying warm and cozy
Lucky number: I don't remember what I said last time, but I like a lot of numbers. 64 is a good number. recently I've been debugging software in which 0x3E is my lucky status number and 0x0E taunts me. (um, decimal 62 and 14). Also my other favorite number i can't share until it's no longer the combination to the lock to the Secret Room. (or realistically never because opsec and i shouldn't make public the types of parents we use for that combination lock), honestly I aim to be like.... ah, I'm sure the anecdote involves G.H. Hardy but i don't remember on which side. anyway one mathematician remarked to another about how the id number of the taxi he rode in was sadly uninteresting, and the one I aspire to be like, argued "what are you talking about, this number is interesting because ______" and I'd like to be able to do that for any arbitrary number thrown at me. (hi yes math is good, history is hard, math history is interesting yet i still forget the people even if i remember the math. except when things are named after people, but that tends to be, like, Euler and LaGrange and other people who did lots of cool science things so i remember the methods and the names of the methods separately which never helps)
Amount of sleep: ....depression both screws with my sleep schedule and means I always feel like I need more sleep except when I wake up at 5pm and feel like I've wasted the day. so yeah. I can never get enough sleep
Favorite food: yes (why do I have to pick a favorite?) uh, chocolate in most forms, many other sweet things, red meats (especially if served with potatoes), curry (especially if it has "too much" ginger), fresh-baked bread, chai the way my favorite local Indian restaurant makes it (spicier with just a little bit of sweet, which is the opposite of what i can get from the mocha machine at work which is wayyy sweet with a hint of spice but that inferior chai is still superior to coffee so i drink too much of it). also vegetables which I really don't eat enough of: sauteed zucchini and onions, roasted broccoli
Dream trip: dreaming requires creativity and tbh I funnel that mostly into my writing instead. I wouldn't mind going back to Korea for another visit though
Dream job: my current job is pretty good when I feel productive and when my debugging tools actually produce data maybe??? (they were not being helpful today. but i still mostly like my job.) dream job is probably this but with seniority and confidence and double the salary (while living in a similar area of the country; I wouldn't want to double my salary by moving to work for Google in California and having less available after rent than I do now)
Describe yourself as aesthetic things:
the smell of old books
the first glow of sunrise (the sunrise painting the mountains pink and gold)
a rainbow in the spray from a waterfall
the flicker of distant lightning (watching a thunderstorm fade into the distance)

Random fact: about me or about the world?
how about a combination answer: when we got our new handbell music this season, we only looked at half the pieces our first rehearsal and afterwards I tried to look up one of the pieces we hadn't gotten to on YouTube because it's got a weird time signature and I wanted to get a feel for how fast it would go and how strict the counting is...... except it turns out we're the first group to ever play the piece. it was commissioned recently but seeing my conductor's name on the page didn't tell me how new it was because he's super prolific. (the fact that it was on printer paper without the publisher's graphics should have been a giveaway but it's only the second time I've been among the first to play one of his pieces so I think I can be excused for not realizing)
Languages: mostly just English, but I took Spanish for years, so I can hold simple conversations in it. I can almost read sound out Hebrew fast enough to keep up in services, and I know some random Hebrew vocab but comparatively no grammar. and I took Korean in college, enough that I can recognize sentence structure but I can really only speak tourist-Korean, though I can sound anything out (if it's typed. handwriting is hit or miss.) in both Hebrew and Korean (and Spanish tbh but i don't often listen to Spanish music) I'm very proud when I can separate the words enough, listening to a song, to translate them without looking up the lyrics. also I tried to learn Japanese from Duolingo when it was new, but I still hadn't gotten the kana straight when it started progressing to kanji so that was a rough time and I went back to Hebrew.
tbh I "dabble" in "language learning" which really means I start a million courses on Duo and stick with none of them. with the notable exception of French, which I acknowledge is super common and probably a good idea to learn but the spelling and pronunciation seem so arbitrary I'm scared to look close enough to learn it properly, and I've never particularly considered starting the Duolingo course for French
I think I lost a few questions, because that's only 18 answers. whoops.
um... who to tag
@abluescarfonwaston if school hasn't drowned you in work yet and @copperscales I'm interested in both of your choices for lucky numbers especially.
... wow I'm blanking on other mutuals I haven't tagged recently. as usual lmk if you'd like to be edited in, or just answer the questions and tag me back, that's great too.

Since the EU referendum got under way in the UK, it has become almost an everyday occurence to turn on the TV and hear some politician explaining "I don't mean to sound racist, but..." (example)
Of course, if you didn't mean to sound racist, you wouldn't sound racist in the first place, now would you?
The reality is, whether you like politics or not, political leaders have a significant impact on society and the massive rise in UK hate crimes, including deaths of Polish workers, is a direct reflection of the leadership (or profound lack of it) coming down from Westminster. Maybe you don't mean to sound racist, but if this is the impact your words are having, maybe it's time to shut up?
Choosing your referendum
Why choose to have a referendum on immigration issues and not on any number of other significant topics? Why not have a referendum on nuking Mr Putin to punish him for what looks like an act of terrorism against the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17? Why not have a referendum on cutting taxes or raising speed limits, turning British motorways into freeways or an autobahn? Why choose to keep those issues in the hands of the Government, but invite the man-in-a-white-van from middle England to regurgitate Nigel Farage's fears and anxieties about migrants onto a ballot paper?
Even if David Cameron sincerely hoped and believed that the referendum would turn out otherwise, surely he must have contemplated that he was playing Russian Roulette with the future of millions of innocent people?
Let's start at the top
For those who are fortunate enough to live in parts of the world where the press provides little exposure to the antics of British royalty, an interesting fact you may have missed is that the Queen's husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh is actually a foreigner. He was born in Greece and has Danish and German ancestry. Migration (in both directions) is right at the heart of the UK's identity.
Home office minister Amber Rudd recently suggested British firms should publish details about how many foreign people they employ and in which positions. She argued this is necessary to help boost funding for training local people.
If that is such a brilliant idea, why hasn't it worked for the Premier League? It is a matter of public knowledge how many foreigners play football in England's most prestigious division, so why hasn't this caused local clubs to boost training budgets for local recruits? After all, when you consider that England hasn't won a World Cup since 1966, what have they got to lose?
All this racism, it's just not cricket. Or is it? One of the most remarkable cricketers to play for England in recent times, Kevin Pietersen, dubbed "the most complete batsman in cricket" by The Times and "England's greatest modern batsman" by the Guardian, was born in South Africa. In the five years he was contracted to the Hampshire county team, he only played one match, because he was too busy representing England abroad. His highest position was nothing less than becoming England's team captain.
Are the British superior to every other European citizen?
One of the implications of the rhetoric coming out of London these days is that the British are superior to their neighbours, entitled to have their cake and eat it too, making foreigners queue up at Paris' Gare du Nord to board the Eurostar while British travelers should be able to walk or drive into European countries unchallenged.
This superiority complex is not uniquely British, you can observe similar delusions are rampant in many of the places where I've lived, including Australia, Switzerland and France. America's Donald Trump has taken this style of politics to a new level.
Look in the mirror Theresa May: after British 10-year old schoolboys Robert Thompson and Jon Venables abducted, tortured, murdered and mutilated 2 year old James Bulger in 1993, why not have all British schoolchildren fingerprinted and added to the police DNA database? Why should "security" only apply based on the country where people are born, their religion or skin colour?
In fact, after Brexit, people like Venables and Thompson will remain in Britain while a Dutch woman, educated at Cambridge and with two British children will not. If that isn't racism, what is?
Running foreigner's off the roads
Theresa May has only been Prime Minister for less than a year but she has a history of bullying and abusing foreigners in her previous role in the Home Office. One example of this was a policy of removing driving licenses from foreigners, which has caused administrative chaos and even taken away the licenses of many people who technically should not have been subject to these regulations anyway.
Shouldn't the DVLA (Britain's office for driving licenses) simply focus on the competence of somebody to drive a vehicle? Bringing all these other factors into licensing creates a hostile environment full of mistakes and inconvenience at best and opportunities for low-level officials to engage in arbitrary acts of racism and discrimination.
Of course, when you are taking your country on the road to nowhere, who needs a driving license anyway?
What does "maximum control" over other human beings mean to you?
The new British PM has said she wants "maximum control" over immigrants. What exactly does "maximum control" mean? Donald Trump appears to be promising "maximum control" over Muslims, Hitler sought "maximum control" over the Jews, hasn't the whole point of the EU been to avoid similar situations from ever arising again?
This talk of "maximum control" in British politics has grown like a weed out of the UKIP. One of their senior figures has been linked to kidnappings and extortion, which reveals a lot about the character of the people who want to devise and administer these policies. Similar people in Australia aspire to jobs in the immigration department where they can extort money out of people for getting them pushed up the queue. It is no surprise that the first member of Australia's parliament ever sent to jail was put there for obtaining bribes and sexual favours from immigrants. When Nigel Farage talks about copying the Australian immigration system, he is talking about creating jobs like these for his mates.
Even if "maximum control" is important, who really believes that a bunch of bullies in Westminster should have the power to exercise that control? Is May saying that British bosses are no longer competent to make their own decisions about who to employ or that British citizens are not reliable enough to make their own decisions about who they marry and they need a helping hand from paper-pushers in the immigration department?
Echoes of the Third Reich
Most people associate acts of mass murder with the Germans who lived in the time of Adolf Hitler. These are the stories told over and and over again in movies, books and the press.
Look more closely, however, and it appears that the vast majority of Germans were not in immediate contact with the gas chambers. Even Gobels' secretary writes that she was completely oblivious to it all. Many people were simply small cogs in a big bad machine. The clues were there, but many of them couldn't see the big picture. Even if they did get a whiff of it, many chose not to ask questions, to carry on with their comfortable lives.
Today, with mass media and the Internet, it is a lot easier for people to discover the truth if they look, but many are still reluctant to do so.
Consider, for example, the fingerprint scanners installed in British post offices and police stations to fingerprint foreigners and criminals (as if they have something in common). If all the post office staff refused to engage in racist conduct the fingerprint scanners would be put out of service. Nonetheless, these people carry on, just doing their job, just following orders. It was through many small abuses like this, rather than mass murder on every street corner, that Hitler motivated an entire nation to serve his evil purposes.
Technology like this is introduced in small steps: first it was used for serious criminals, then anybody accused of a crime, then people from Africa and next it appears they will try and apply it to all EU citizens remaining in the UK.
How will a British man married to a French woman explain to their children that mummy has to be fingerprinted by the border guard each time they return from vacation?
The Nazis pioneered biometric technology with the tracking numbers branded onto Jews. While today's technology is electronic and digital, isn't it performing the same function?
There is no middle ground between "soft" and "hard" brexit
An important point for British citizens and foreigners in the UK to consider today is that there is no compromise between a "soft" Brexit and a "hard" Brexit. It is one or the other. Anything less (for example, a deal that is "better" for British companies and worse for EU citizens) would imply that the British are a superior species and it is impossible to imagine the EU putting their stamp on such a deal. Anybody from the EU who is trying to make a life in the UK now is playing a game of Russian Roulette - sure, everything might be fine if it morphs into "soft" Brexit, but if Theresa May has her way, at some point in your life, maybe 20 years down the track, you could be rounded up by the gestapo and thrown behind bars for a parking violation. There has already been a five-fold increase in the detention of EU citizens in British concentration camps and they are using grandmothers from Asian countries to refine their tactics for the efficient removal of EU citizens. One can only wonder what type of monsters Theresa May has been employing to run such inhumane operations.
This is not politics
Edmund Burke's quote "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" comes to mind on a day like today. Too many people think it is just politics and they can go on with their lives and ignore it. Barely half the British population voted in the referendum. This is about human beings treating each other with dignity and respect. Anything less is abhorrent and may well come back to bite.
