Oooh what did they edit out of Hunters S1? I've only started it last week 👀

Also, are you planning on giffing Jonah on that motorcycle chase from episode 8?

idk i don't watch my shows legally, so your guess is as good as mine

from what i gathered, they took out the hallucination dance scene at the pier in While Visions of Safta Danced in His Head (episode 3) when Jonah, Booty and Cheeks get high and the why does everyone hate the jews 4th wall break game show thing in The Jewish Question (episode 8). Also every single episode of season one was at least a full hour long, except episode 9 which was the shortest at 57minutes. So... if they're shorter than that now, yeah Amazon must've cut a bunch of stuff out.

and yeah maybe, idk it's a pretty short scene

While Visions of Safta Danced in His Head

This post is a bit shorter because of the crazy amount of inconsistencies and the fact that I will be creating a separate post for that. Aside from that, I did enjoy this episode and I have so many notes it took me four hours to get through it because I kept pausing to write down my thoughts.

Characters:

Jonah - Poor guy needs a break. It’s been three episodes and he’s lost so much already. Also this episode is interesting because we see more of the trio in this episode than we do for the rest of the season. As well, we see that Jonah goes to Mindy and Murray to visit which shows us that he trusts them the most out of all of them. Something I find interesting about Jonah is that he’s not an affectionate person, but is physically affectionate with Cheeks when the dude apologizes at Coney Island.

Cheeks - We only ever see Cheeks in this episode with both Jonah and Booty, but while Cheeks is on screen it is clear (to me anyway) that Cheeks and Jonah are closer than Booty is with either of them. I know the writers try to make it seem like Booty and Jonah are closer because of the build up, but think about it. He gives Cheeks a pat on the shoulder when he tells the boys to forget about the Hell Devils. Jonah addresses that more towards Cheeks than Booty too. I hope we see more of that friendship in season 2.

Bootyhole - OW OW OW. I have a lot of love for Booty, and it hurts so much. I especially loved how it was clear that Booty notices he’s the “third wheel” in the trio. Again, it isn’t obvious, but when you notice it you really feel for the guy. I also think that’s part of the reason he sees himself as Robin. “Trying to keep somebody out of the darkness” meaning Jonah shows that he’s an observant person and can tell that Jonah has changed in the three days that have passed since Ruth’s death. He also sees himself as second best compared to Cheeks.

Harriet - What in the actual hell is going on? This is the first episode we see where Harriet has shown the slightest bit of betrayal towards The Hunt. We finally learn that Harriet isn’t as loyal as she seems. Who exactly is she corresponding with? Is it people within the Reich? Is it a third party? We don’t know and it’s intriguing.

Maria - Portrayed by Julissa Bermudez.

Generally speaking, I like Maria. I like her relationship with Millie. What I didn't/don't like is that she had the Priest over and the house blessed without talking to Millie first. Maria is Millie's first gay relationship and Millie hasn;t come out to her parents yet. She isn't comfortable with anyone knowing. Relationships are about communication, and Maria definitely overstepped the boundaries.

What I liked:

Mindy and Murray's relationship with Jonah!

I think it's so sweet that Jonah trusts the two the most out of the entirety of the Hunt

And how he went to them to talk

I love that Mindy has become his Safta and Murray his Saba

It's just very heartwarming

Also only mentioning the names of two of Mindy and Murray's kids leaves a door open for OCs XD

What I didn’t like:

Not exploring more of Murray's disability

He's legally deaf and the only reason they brought it in was to bring in the Morse code scene

I wanted that to be explored more because we need more disability rep in media, and if you're going to give a character that type of trait don't just bring it up once and forget about it

I cannot even begin to explain the sheer amount of inconsistencies they wrote into the show pertaining to later episodes. I'm so ANNOYED. Keep a goddamn outline and character maps for the show to avoid this

Explaining specific things the best I can:

A shofar is a ram's horn blown in Synagogue Service on Rosh Hashanah and at the end of Yom Kippur. A fun little fact about my synagogue, but my Dad is the one that blows the shofar during the Holidays :)

Theories:

I think Harriet is going to be revealed as a traitor right when she grows fond of The Hunt. They'll demand the real her, but Harriet won't even know who that is.
