One Dress a Day Challenge
October: Black Redux
Darling Lili / Julie Andrews as Lili Smith/Schmidt
This is the costume Lili wears for her opening performance of "Whistling Away the Dark." The black dress is meant to blend with the backdrop, and the song opens with a tight spotlight on just her head and shoulders, making it look as if her head and the sparkly collar are floating in midair. Later, the spotlight pulls back to include the rest of her gown, picking out the silver designs around the cuffs and skirt as well. It's pretty magical, and the song is beautiful too.

Tuesday Confessions
Ace and Law are the two one piece boys my sister says I’m most like. Idk if it’s a good thing, buts a polar opposite combination.
My favorite underrated anime is Tiger and Bunny! It’s so good. It’s on Netflix!
I’m a big Kpop fan. My favorites are BTS, Stray Kids, and Blackpink.
My favorite season is fall. I hate weather that is too hot or too cold.
I like snow and rain because I actually sleep better when one of those two are happening.
My favorite food is sushi!
I can’t whistle.
The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me when I was on a cruise. I was walking up open stairs. I lost my flip flop and hit a guy in the head. So beware of flying flip flops!!!

Somehow I crave for some nap/sleepytime romantic f/os imagines with both Al and Brook (or sometimes sleepy headcanons LOL)
I’m a sucker for these since I do tend to take naps and thinking about it makes me want to snuggle my two silly guys.
Especially how they snore and I’ll melt if one of them snore whistles, or legit get knocked when they get lulled to sleep by a lullaby ( like rockabye baby *Blushes hard*)
Anyways have a great day and *Snores 😴*

(´ε` )♡ Thinkin about a very clingy Zoro
CW: Sort of Yandere/Nonestablished Relationship. Noncon/dubcon. Fem!Reader
He's not vocal about his clinginess, more of a action man instead. Since you were first accepted in the crew, he wasn't all that welcoming compared to the rest of the crew. Especially Sanji who quickly warmed up to you, making you your favorites dishes and drinks on the night to celebrate your arrival in the crew. You were playing around with Chopper and Usopp when you felt someone sit in the seat right next to you, looking to your left you find the green-haired swordsman chugging down a mug of beer.
His eye lazily glanced down at you with his one good eye, slamming down his mug, making you jump a bit in your seat. He raised an eyebrow at that.
"Didn't think our new crewmate would be so jumpy." He snorted, making your face heat up and your blood boil a bit. Usopp waves him off, "Oh, come on! We all can't be power monsters like you guys. I, for one, am glad to add another person who has common sense to our crew!" He quickly changes the mood by taking your hand in his and pulling you to the dance floor, Chopper following suit. The three of you hold hands in a circle and started jumping around. You quickly forgot about that small interaction with Zoro, but that entire night he never took his eye off of you.
You soon realized that Zoro is just a bit rough around the edges and mostly blunt but he doesn't mean any real harm. Still, you keep your distance mostly from him, opting to hang out with Chopper or Usopp instead. There was just something about the way he looks at you, like he was eyeing down a prey, it makes your spine shiver anytime you glance his way and catch him staring back.
Maybe he was still untrusting of you? It would make sense, he is the first mate, he gotta protect his crew after all. That was the reason you told yourself at least, to justify all the time you caught Zoro just staring at you from afar or downright following you. You gotten slowly used to his presence, not jumping up in shock anymore, anytime he would sneak up behind you or placed a hand on your shoulder.
Zoro got warmer to you, you think at least. He's usually fighting beside you in battles, or walking close by when you're out shopping in town. A hand on your shoulder, moves to a hand down your back, to a hand on your waist. You figured after a while, he accepted you as a crewmate and was just overprotective of the newcomer. It didn't help you found Zoro kinda attractive, so you let him get away with the small touching he did.
And then the touching grew into more and more, and you found yourself not being able to voiced out concerns anymore. The other crewmate, beside Luffy, often giggled when they find the two of you together. Usopp and Franky would make kissy faces when Zoro would sit next to you at lunch. Sanji looks at you dejected from time to time, muttering under his breath, "What does she even see in that moss-brain idiot.."
It wasn't like you were dating Zoro, right? He never asked you out officially, he just always been there. Always...
And, now he was getting bold with his actions. When he's sleeping on the desk, resting his back on the side of the Sunny, he would sense you walking by and trips you on purpose. Making you land on his lap and holding you there. Letting out a huge yawn over your complaining and rolling over on top of you, if you were to squirm around too much. Brook would wolf-whistle if you kept on squirming while underneath Zoro, making you effectively stop all movement.
When it's his turn on the Crow Nest, Zoro would pick you up by the scuff of your shirt, dragging you away from whatever it was you're doing and make you go up there with him. He'll do the same when he's in training at the gym. Stating that he needs "help" with his workout. Though, you're not sure what you're helping by just sitting on his chest or back while he does his reps.
If you're in town or meeting other crews, Zoro would be behind you, or he'll have you tucked into his side, arms around you tight. Glaring at anyone who ever tries to look your way. All the other crews knew that you were 'Zoro's property' and not to mess with you, unless they wanted to end up on impaled on his swords.
He knew your routine to a T, what time you woke up, takes a shower, your daily tasks. And he would just be there at your side or if he had another task to do, he'll keep an eye on you, always...
He knew what you like and dislike, picking up small snacks and trinkets for you, dropping them off on your lap without a word. But looking down at you expectingly, like cat wanting praise for being their owner an offering. Though you were unsure who was the pet and who was the owner in this scenario, as somehow you ended up in Zoro's bed.
Dragged away once again, right after a bath night with the girls too. Nami giggled at the two of you and Robin told you to "Keep it safe." as she waves you off, the both of them seemingly ignoring the confused and panicked look on your face.
He smelt like musk and sweat and you idly wondered if he showered yet or just came to bed right after the gym. He was still shirtless as he presses you right up agaisnt his chest, his head buried on top of your hair. Snuffing at your scent, a deep rumble blooms in his chest as he squeezes you a bit tighter, his biceps trapping you in this position. He lets out a deep sigh, hands traveling down your body, grabbing and pinching at your skin.
Grunting out when you start to wiggle and struggle a bit in his grasp, accidentally brushing your knees right up against his hard on. He push his own knee right between your legs, forcing them apart as he makes you grind on his thigh. The thin pajamas short you were wearing did little to help against the friction it was causing, he flexes his thighs in a way that make you mewl out and dig your nails in his shoulders.
"Good girl.." He growls out, finally addressing you like a person and not some doll.
"Zo-Zoro, what are we-Mmph!" He silences you with a kiss, speeding up his movement and moving his hands down to grope at your ass. His tongue parting your lips open and invading your mouth hotly. You moan so sweetly underneath him like this, your back arching up into him as he remove one hand to ghost under your shirt, pinching at your nipples.
He parts away from you, and from the moonlight coming thru the window. You saw Zoro's face, flushed with a light pink, and his eye starting down at you. A deep dark desire swirling within them, he grins almost manically at you.
"I knew it... I always knew you wanted me too...haha.."
He moves back a bit to get both legs in between yours so he could spread you open even more. His hands gripping the soft flesh of your thighs and pushing it to your chest. Your hands clamber to stop him, heart racing over this fast exchange of events.
"You're gonna be punished for making me wait so long.."

Don’t Fall In Love With Me (Yet) Pt. 3
Pairing: Trafalgar Law x reader
Content: reader wears a bathing suit (bikini top, shirtless, etc not specified!!!), a tiny amount of cursing, jealousy, a little hurt/comfort, gn reader, strawhat reader
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: hey guys! sorry i’ve been sort of MIA for a few days, just got really busy and things. but, i finally had the time and energy to write today! law wants the reader so bad if you can’t tell… but he’s like waiting bc he’s unsure of how to the whole relationship, but like he’s learning!!! and they’re growing together!! so i hope you enjoy <3 (comment to be tagged in future parts!!!)
Part 2
It’s not uncommon for people to fall overboard on the Thousand Sunny. And by people, you mean Luffy, Chopper, and Brook. How was it that three out of the five devil fruit users currently on board were so clumsy? You weren’t quite sure, but it was something all the crew was accustomed to and therefore knew to watch out for.
On this occasion, it’s a Chopper who’s managed to be knocked into the sea below.
“Chopper, watch out!” Zoro calls to the young doctor, but it’s too late. He’s hit head on by a wooden plank under Franky’s arm. As the cyborg spins around in turning directions, he knocks the poor reindeer overboard.
“Shit! Quick, somebody go get him!” Nami commands.
You’re already stripping off your shirt and shoes (you’re wearing a bathing suit underneath, of course) as you run to the side of the ship. “On it!” The entire crew follows after you while Chopper is still falling, not even in the water yet. Your hands are on the railing ready to jump over, when you hear; “Room, Shambles” along with the sudden absence of Chopper’s scream. Sanji holds you back at the last second and helps you back down to the deck when you all realize; he’s back on the deck. The rest of your friends rush back to the center of the deck, where Chopper seems to be safe and sound. He clings on to his savior, Law’s leg, gasping and still catching his breath after his brush with death.
You and Sanji run to join the others, who are surrounding the youngest crewmates with hugs and crying. (You’re a very emotional group of people, after all.) Meanwhile, Law stands with his arms crossed off to the side. You run to him, instead, wrapping your arms around his neck in a brief hug.
“Thank you, Law.”
You could swear that you see a smile pass over his features before he coughs and shakes his head. “Don’t mention it.”
Laws hands remain on your hips after you’ve pulled back, and yours are still resting on his shoulders. You smile at him, and he wants nothing more than to just take your jaw in his hand and kiss you. The skin to skin contact from you being stripped down to your swimwear, and him shirtless as per usual, causes his cheeks and ears to flush a rosy hue.
Unfortunately, your rare, tender moment is disrupted by a low whistle, followed by teasing remarks and laughter. How could he have forgotten that your crew- your very obnoxious, childish, silly crew- is standing just feet away? Sure, you might not mind being so openly affectionate around them, but he does! So, with extreme awkwardness, he releases you and steps backwards.
*Ahem… I, uh…”
“They’re only, teasing, Law.” You laugh along with your friends.
He watches as you bound away from him and into the arms of your crewmates, playfully pushing them away as they sing some ridiculous song; “Law and y/n, sitting in a tree…” Even though you’re telling them off, he can’t help but feel a pang of jealousy at how naturally you fit in with all of them. How easily they make you smile and laugh- had you ever looked so happy in front of him? The whole ordeal makes him feel self conscious. “I could never make you as happy as your crew does,” he thinks. “And you would never leave them for me.”
That’s enough for him to storm off, too annoyed to even wave “bye.” Of course, you take notice of this. Surrounded by people a thousand times more boisterous than him, your eyes still remain drawn to his figure. You excuse yourself from the others and follow Law, calling after him.
“Law! Wait up!”
There’s evident surprise in his expression when he turns back. He pauses for you to catch up with him in a narrow corridor below deck, while you slip your shirt back over your head. “What is it?”
You quirk a brow- his tone is colder than it usually is (with you, at least.) Had the jokes from your fellow Strawhats really bothered him so much? “Uh… nothing, I just want to go with you.”
He hums and continues walking. “I’m not doing anything very fun. Just going to study.”
With a shrug, you continue following him. “Then I’ll catch up on my reading, too.”
When Law stops suddenly and turns to face you once more, you nearly bump into his chest. “You don’t have to coddle me, y/n.”
“…What?”
“Go have fun with your friends, I’m fine.”
“What are you talking about? They were just kidding about us, Law, it doesn’t mean anything.”
“That-That’s not what I’m talking about! You don’t have to follow me around and pretend like you enjoy being around me when it’s so obvious how much you love being with your crew.”
“Is that why you’re upset? You’re jealous because I love my crew?”
“I’m not jealous, I just don’t like being pitied.”
“I don’t pity you, Law. We’re friends- isn’t that a good enough reason to want to be around you?”
“I don’t believe you.”
You scoff. Sometimes, you forget how sensitive his ego is. “Well, it’s true.”
“Don’t lie to-“
“I’m not lying! God, why is it so hard to believe that I enjoy being with you? That I like you?”
He goes silent, and you stare at each other- both with fierce determination in your eyes.
“I know that you don’t always get along with them… and you’re different from them, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be friends, you know.”
“Well, you look really happy with them.”
“I’m happy with you, too.”
At that moment, Sanji rings the lunch bell, and Luffy and Usopp dash through the hall between you and Law. Usopp shouts, “Out of the way, lovebirds!” and you can’t help but giggle despite being in the midst of some sort of argument.
Law nods in their direction. “Go have fun.”
But, before he can walk away, you grab his hand. “Not without you.”
He would scowl if he weren’t so caught off guard by the feeling of your hand around his. With some grumbled reply, he complies, and trails after you all the way to the kitchen/dining room for lunch.
When you walk in and take your seat at the table, food is already being served. Law is right behind you (as he often is nowadays), so nobody pays the two of you much mind for being a little late. Sanji finishes serving everyone their plates, and the chatter begins to flow naturally once you’ve all taken the first bites of his delicious food. Law loosens up a little after a few minutes- it’s hard to stay angry when you eat Sanji’s food, after all. He makes a comment under his breath, hoping to clear the air between the two of you.
“This is nice.” You think he’s stating the obvious- Sanji’s food is always nice- as some cheap shot at an apology for his standoffish behavior. Then he adds, “Good food, too.” Law hopes that you’ll understand what he’s trying to say; “I don’t hate your friends, and I’m going to be better at getting along with them, for you.”
Luckily, your ability to read between the lines makes up for the lack of clarity in his apology. It still brings a bright smile to your face though, which grows into a grin after you reply. “It is, isn’t it?”
He simply smiles back at you and nods, a weight taken off his shoulders at the assurance you’re no longer at odds with him.
Robin takes notice of the quiet exchange, and decided to poke fun in her usual eerily-observant way; “You seem to be adept at making y/n smile, Law.”
Nami agrees, and adds on to the teasing; “Awww look! They have hearts in their eyes!”
Law’s cheeks flush as you launch into animated banter with Nami, but he still smiles to himself as he eats. Maybe it’s not so bad, learning to fit into your life alongside your crew family. The archeologist and navigator are right that you do seem especially happy around him, he had just been too preoccupied with how that happiness compares to the way you are with them. Still, it seems they had all taken notice of the increasingly obvious affection growing between the two of you. So, Law would learn to be more accommodating of your people- and to be less jealous (not that he ever was jealous, that’s just silly), rather than force you to favor one or the other.
After all, they were rooting for his relationship with you just as much as he was.

HELLO HELLO!! I hope ur having a good life!
Can I get a strawhats x teen!Reader where the reader doesn’t talk cuz their too shy? The reader still interacts with them but just doesn’t use their voice, they interact by using expressions, actions(hugging the crew aww), grunting and sighing, from the actions the reader has done the crew knows they are a sweet kid and just want to help. The reader is scared to talk cuz they feel like their an awkward person and don’t want to say anything out of place and one day they decide to do it and they tell the crew why their too shy!
Udhfueihfhs take ur time with this and enjoy life pls and tyyy!!!
─Strawhats x teen!reader (platonic)
─Summary: you surprise the crew by talking longer than you ever did because of your shyness
─Warnings: none
here it iss, I hope you have a good life too! 😋
Tumblr media
─ Everyone thought you were mute when you joined the crew.
─ It took them a week to hear your first words, after that Luffy pressured you to talk more because he thought if you don't talk it was because you were mad at them.
─ Nami put him in his place with a good blow, the others understood that you prefer not to speak for whatever reason, if you didn't want to say it you were within your rights.
─ The truth is that you did not feel too comfortable using your voice, you preferred to express your thoughts or feelings through actions, it seemed much more comfortable to you.
─ When you take more confidence you start to use grunts or light whistles, somehow you manage to communicate with them through a strange sign language.
─ Robin will probably ask you more than once the reasons for your refusal to speak, but she will not pressure you, she usually gives you paper and a pen so that you can communicate more easily when it is difficult for you.
─ Usopp, Chopper and Franky will write down everything they learn from your gestures to understand you better, as if they were learning a new language on their own.
─ Luffy and Zoro… they're trying their hardest, they never quite understand your hand movements or interpretations, but they're better at reading your eyes, so one look is enough for them to know what you want, at least in most occasions.
─ Sanji had no problems relating to you either, he knew how to read body language very well and he knew how to win your trust quickly thanks to his cooking.
─ Nami, Brook and Jinbe don't seem to have much trouble understanding you, they were probably the first to hear you speak for the first time for so long.
─ With the passage of time you gained enough courage and affection to talk to everyone, you felt bad thinking that they didn't know why you didn't talk and you thought they deserved at least one explanation.
─ When you explained that you were too shy to use your voice and you didn't want to blurt out bad comments, they all laughed at you, not in a bad way of course, they knew you would never say anything hurtful on purpose.
─ Although they already accepted that you were not a person of many words, they understood the reason from another perspective, at least from now on they got used to listening to your voice a little more, although you preferred to remain silent, you gained more confidence to speak more often.

Patched : a Nikolai Lantsov x f!reader oneshot
Tumblr media
Anon request: Nikolai is injured in the course of a fight and reader offers to tend to his wound. He is a stubborn ass and refuses...eventually giving in.
A/N: I think I decided to make this "best friends to lovers" trope. Hope that's okay.
18+ at the end!
Tumblr media
Nikolai thumped through the door to his bedroom in the Spinning Wheel, landing hard against the wall and almost falling to the floor. If it weren’t for his gaze catching on you sitting on the edge of his bed, he would have given up and allowed gravity to take him. But as it was, he did see you and forced himself to straighten, using his shoulders to push his body off the wall, sheer will skewing the corners of his mouth into a smile facsimile.
“Hey, you” he said, and stumbled.
“Hey, yourself, Sobachka” you grumbled, standing and hastening to him.
He pouted at the barely tolerated nickname coming out of your mouth.
“Don’t call me that” he mumbled back. “I’m not a puppy.”
“Then stop acting like one, moi Tsar” you retorted, pulling a face at him. “How bad is it?”
“It’s just a scratch.”
He sighed and collapsed into a chair, his head rolling back. You sighed even more heavily and knelt at his feet, feeling for the pulse at his wrist. It was there, and it was strong enough, but he was still an idiot.
“I heard that” he said, not looking at you. “You speak in your head far less than you think you do.”
“Good” you snapped. “Someone ought to tell you what they’re truly thinking. I’m not too scared to do it. You could have been killed, Nikolai. And if you had died, where would I be then?”
He heard the tears in your voice and sat up properly in the chair, reaching out to cup your face with one hand and tilt your gaze towards him. You sniffed, your gaze defiant, just in case he was going to tease you for caring too much. But he just leaned forward and kissed your forehead, his palm rough and soothing against your jaw.
“I don’t have an answer for that, darling” he said softly. “Other than I hope you would be all right. And that no matter where I ended up, I would worry for you.”
You breathed out sharply and rose up to lean your weight against his knees; they widened unconsciously, without Nikolai’s say-so, opening a gap big enough for you fit your body in between.
“Let me help you” you offered, sniffing away the last of your tears.
He merely shook his head.
“No.”
His tone was firm, brooking no nonsense, but you pressed on anyway.
“You’re a stubborn mule, moi Tsar” you told him, raising an eyebrow. “A scratch would not leave you in your current state. I can help you.”
Nikolai eyed you sceptically.
“You know you don’t have to call me that” he said. “I’m not your king yet.”
Your eyes softened as you looked up at him and he found himself shifting in the chair, striving to get away from the unkempt love he glimpsed in your face.
“You have been my king since the day I met you” you replied. “You will always be my king, Nikolai Lantsov.”
He sucked in a slow, deliberate breath and made a decision.
“All right, fine” he all but grunted. “You can help put me back together.”
As you reached for his shirt strings, he noticed your hands trembling, and felt the heat of your fingertips pressing through the material at his collarbone. You fumbled with the slim knot, eventually overcoming it, and pulled the cords free. As your hands dropped to the hem of his shirt and worked it up over his stomach, Nikolai couldn’t help the fresh grin tugging at his lips.
“Darling, if you wanted me to take off my clothes, you should have just asked.”
He expected a quip back, but instead, you just glanced away and pulled the shirt free of his head, sliding it off his arms. It left his hair mussed and your eyes dark as you searched him for the injury. It was more than a scratch, but could still have been worse. A long, inch deep gash ran along the side of his ribs, glistening wetly in the low light.
You whistled quietly and Nikolai sighed.
“I truly hope that is because of my impressive physique and not because I need stitches.”
“You need stitches” you answered flatly.
Nikolai groaned, throwing his head back again. You couldn’t help but smile.
“For a man so unafraid of anything, you sure are scared of needles” you commented, pushing yourself to your feet. “I’ll be right back. Don’t move.”
Nikolai rolled his eyes.
“Why would I, when you treat me with such gentleness?”
You said nothing, slipping out the door and returning a few minutes later with a stoppered bottle of amber liquid and an armful of clean bandages, a length of catgut and a sterilised needle. Without a word, you handed the bottle to Nikolai but didn’t wait for him to drink before starting work on his wound.
He hissed through his teeth, yanked the stopper out and rapidly swallowed a third of the crown’s whiskey.
“Am I your king now?” he groaned, tensing as the needle passed through his skin.
“Be quiet, Sobachka” you muttered, concentrating. “Don’t make me stab you.”
“That’s what I thought.”
You worked quickly and carefully, tying off the stitching with a tiny knot and spreading a new bandage over the neat black lines. You smoothed it down, your fingers lingering on the warm skin over the edge of the white padding. Nikolai’s eyes flicked to yours, warmed a little by whiskey but still clear.
“Has anyone ever told you you’re very pretty when you’re causing men pain?” he asked blithely, two fingers wrapped loosely around the neck of the bottle.
You snorted and stood up, gathering the remnants of your work and heading for the door. His voice stopped you at the threshold, called you back to him.
“How long have we known each other?” he asked you, head tilted curiously to one side as his gaze burned a scalding path from the top of your head to the scuffed toes of your boots.
“More than ten years, moi Tsar” you said softly.
He shook his head slowly and got up, wincing as the stitches pulled at him. You took a step in his direction, but he held up a halting hand and shook his head again.
“More than ten years” he repeated slowly. “And in those ten years, how have I never seen what it looks like when you desire a man?”
Your gaze plummeted to the floor and you moved your weight from foot to foot, suddenly unsteady in your own body. Nikolai reached you, his boots entering your limited field of vision. The tools of your trade fell from your hands as one of his hands grasped your chin and raised it so that you had no choice but to look into his blue eyes, now burning with twin flames. You could smell the whiskey as he spoke, but instead of making you uncertain, it liquefied your knees and heated your stomach.
“Until tonight” he finally added, his voice low and his gaze dropping to your parted lips.
You swallowed unsteadily, knowing you were trapped, he had caught you, doe to stag.
“Please, moi Tsar” you barely whispered, not exactly sure what you were begging him for.
He shook his head at you.
“Uh uh” he murmured, arching a single eyebrow.
You opened your mouth to speak again, knowing that your next utterance would sentence you to him for the rest of your life, death withstanding.
“Nikolai...”
The bottle shattered the second his mouth bruised yours, pleasure coursing through his veins and numbing the pain in his side as his head swam, his two empty hands finding you to hold onto, molding to your hips. He eased your lips apart and swallowed your moan as the tip of his tongue brushed yours, so lightly.
He couldn’t believe there had ever been anyone else before you, as his hands mapped the contours of your body, lavishing attention on your clothed breasts when you arched into his palms.
You pulled away slightly and traced the edges of Nikolai’s bandage with your fingers.
“We can’t” you groaned, whimpering needily as his hand wandered down your belly to tease underneath the front of your trousers. “Your stitches, Nikolai.”
He shrugged, seemingly ignoring the prominent strain in his own trousers.
“No matter” he said casually. “You know what we can do? Or, what I can do?”
You gasped and your eyelids fluttered, but you forced your eyes to remain open to watch his whole hand disappear and feel his roughened fingers begin their work.

She had to ask him out?
Prompt: The crew disbelieves that Mc had to ask Sanji out first.
Reader’s Name: Mc (Stands for Main Character but made it look like a name)
Note: This moment STILL takes place in the future from my “Giving Him the Love He Deserves” series. It can be a standalone, but it ties in with the story I’ve written before. Words: 1,021 Warnings: None. Just a fluffy drabble
Tumblr media
"I was actually the one who asked Sanji out on a date," Mc said casually, placing a coffee she made in front of Sanji.
Nami laughed, "I wonder how much he had to beg- What?"
Mc, who always stood after a meal, draped herself on Sanji's back as he sat on the table for once, drinking his coffee. The tips of Sanji's ears reddened as the crew gaped.
"How can that be true?" Usopp's eyes narrowed at them. "Sanji's totally all over Mc, and she had to ask him out?"
Mc inclined her head with a smile, "I know, right?" she hummed as Sanji held her arms draped on his shoulders. "You never really told me why you didn’t ask me out first, Ji,"
Sanji rubbed the tip of his nose, not meeting anyone's eyes. "You were out of my league," he mumbled under his breath, "You know me and all of my history. I just thought I would never have the chance to be with you at all."
Mc gaped and tried to move around to face Sanji, but he held her arms firmly. "It was just a fantasy that you'd say you like me. I just hoped that if I showered you with my love, maybe just maybe…"
Robin closed her book. "How did you ask him out?"
Sanji, letting go of Mc’s arms, patted them twice and stood. "Why don't we show you?"
They had the crew follow them to a long island. Sanji took his place behind the island after taking dessert from the fridge, and Mc sat across from him.
Usopp dramatically clapped his hands. "Action!"
Sanji slid the dessert toward her, and Mc giddily took it as always. A few savoring bites from the cake had her sighing in delight. "I'm pretty sure that by the way you keep feeding me this expensive food, I'll be in debt forever, Ji," she said with a sigh.
"Then you'll stay forever with me," Sanji winked, wiping a plate dry.
Mc gave a toothy grin. "You won't hear me complaining," then took another bite. She paused to fish out a note from her dress and slid it across to Sanji.
"I hope this is a love letter," Sanji smiled.
Mc pulled the spoon clean and held it up. "Unfortunately not, I thought about giving you one with the orders, but I didn’t know if Carne or Patty would process the order instead, so I held back."
Franky gave a low whistle, making Brook laugh.
Sanji just covered the note with his hand when Mc said, "I have a favor to ask, Sanji."
He raised a brow, "It’s a yes, whatever it is, darling."
Mc opened her mouth to say something but closed it again, placing her hand on top of his.
"Take me out on a date."
Sanji froze, blinking, and muttered reverently, "Darling-"
Then both Mc and Sanji broke out into grins and faced the crew.
Franky crossed his arms in disappointment. "That was not super bro!"
"Yeah! You had Mc ask you out!" Usopp seconded.
Luffy laughed out, "Sanji's a coward!"
Sanji glared, moving to remove the dishes' leftovers and piling the plates neatly in a stack. "I'm her husband now, so it doesn't matter."
Mc had both elbows on the table and palms cradling her face, humming happily as she swung her feet back and forth. "Right?" she drawled.
"How long was Sanji giving you the googly eyes?" Nami sipped on her drink.
Mc giggled, "Actually-"
Usopp covered Mc’s mouth. "The moment he laid eyes on her! I have to be right on this one."
Franky scratched his head. "I don’t think I heard how Sanji first met Mc at all. Is that just because I joined the crew later?"
"I'm second, I think?" Nami reminisced. "Or third, doesn’t matter, but I never heard of this, Zoro?" One look at the swordsman’s raised brow, "I shouldn’t have asked."
Mc pulled Usopp’s hands away from her mouth. "Your theory can’t be right, though. I was floating in the sea for quite some time, no water or food. I would have been a horror to look at."
"My darling-"
"It's okay, Sanji. I don’t mind." Mc showed her ring proudly. "I got you in the end, after all."
"-wife, I may not have fallen in love with you at first sight, but I fell in love with you the same day you spoke with me."
Mc shook her head. "You fall in love with every woman on sight, Sanji. I don’t think that’s a consolation at all."
Sanji was immediately on his knees in front of her. "I will atone all my life, my darling. I swear, from that moment forward, and every day we spent together, I was yours. Indefinitely. When you said yes and became my girlfriend, I treated other women with chivalry but nothing more."
Mc paused and narrowed her eyes at her husband, but he didn’t even flinch. She smiled and gave him a peck on the lips. "I know."
Nami sighed. "All that is chivalry? Where I come from, with men without manners, those are considered flirting."
Mc sipped on her tea and nodded, "Don’t worry, Nami, where I come from too, those are considered flirting too because men have no manners," she sighed. "Mostly. Not all though."
Sanji seemed to be glowing at the remarks.
"You wouldn’t want to see Sanji without my influence," Mc shook her head with a smile.
Sanji sighed too. "I’ll probably be girl crazy and peacock to girls, huh?"
"Right in one."
Robin hummed, "If I remember correctly, Mc, you already loved him before you got in the world, right?"
Mc nodded, looking lovingly at Sanji. "I remember I was wishing that Sanji deserved better and that if I could, I would show him love."
"How strong was that wish to get you thrown in here?" Zoro asked, stretching his arms as he stood.
“So strong that the universe had bent down and granted it, it seems,” Robin smiled, watching Mc pester Sanji in letting her help. He ends up letting her but only to dry the plates. ══════════════════ Thank you for reading! Want more fluff? Check out the Masterlist here!

Sinking Chips Chapter 1
Okay I'm done editing, new story aaaaaahh
This is the story written after the result of this poll! Thanks sm for voting and for your patience! It took a looong while aaaaah
These two characters are very dear to me. They're one of my oldest g/t ocs alongside Juhren and Sunflower, and I've even made art for them years ago. (funny how I said back then that I'd write about them soon and it took me SIX FREAKING YEARS)
Anyway, I'm very happy to finally share a snippet of their story! Enjoy! <3
Summary: Caytlin Brooke, a sophomore marine biologist student gets stranded in the middle of the sea, with no hopes of rescue. But a chance encounter challenges all she knew about marine life, and a bond is formed in the proccess.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The whales’ singing blasted like trumpets in the cave, a sign that a new Heir was about to be announced. With King Freyr’s last breath on the day before, it was a matter of time until the Ocean declared a new protector for the North Atlantic.
Merfolk swam and gathered at the center of the plaza; a large outdoors space made of polished stone. Bioluminescent creatures illuminated their path in a spiral shape, and a large crowd formed as they cheered with clicks and whistles. In front of them laid a magnificent castle, bigger than the length of two blue whales, and with towering, pointy towers. It was made of the same dark blue stone material as the vast cave, and if it wasn’t for the glowing plankton and the blue gemstones decorating the walls in spiral patterns, the intricate carvings of the castle would merge with the walls of the cavern.
Inside the palace, Queen Haliae watched her tears float upwards, the pain of losing her King like a fresh wound in her heart. On each arm, she held a baby, non-identical twins that would never meet their father. One had pale blue skin, as light as the sand on the seabed at night, and dark turquoise hair that flowed like the ocean waves. His tail was a greyish shade of blue, mimicking the pattern of a blue whale, just like his mother’s. The baby cried as the light of the Ocean’s Oracle shone like a chandelier on the ceiling, a ball-shaped crystal filled with flowing, glowing water. It was too bright for the little mer’s small, fragile eyes. The other twin on Haliae’s arm had shorter, unrulier hair as light as the sand with a distinct turquoise undertone, and his skin was a darker shade of blue. His tail was a deep blue like his father’s, mimicking a humpback whale. Unlike his brother, this baby was transfixed by the glowing orb over his head, giggling every time light pulsated from it.
The mother swam up to that crystal with unwavering determination in her eyes, eliciting a prayer to the Ocean, which flowed as easy as a whale’s call. She finished it with a personal supplication, one she whispered so only Mother Ocean would hear.
“May whoever you choose be a beacon of guidance in this kingdom, much like their father were... And may the other find his footing as the New Heir’s shadow.”
As if answering her, the Ocean’s Oracle shone a light as bright as the sun, blinding the mother, her children, and all merfolk gathered inside the palace. The crowd waiting outside whistled and twirled, knowing that the time for a new Heir was soon to come.
When the light dimmed and the Queen opened her eyes, one of her kids was glowing.
It was not the giggling child, no, for Mother Ocean chose the crying, screaming child, who now sobbed louder while glowing a vivid blue. The teardrop-shaped necklace he wore filled with cerulean, fluorescent water, a sign that he was now the New Chosen Heir.
The mother smiled, melancholy shining in her features. So, this was the one that would carry her husband’s legacy. She kissed the unchosen child on the forehead, giving him to one of the servants so she could present the chosen child to the people.
The glow dimmed from her son as Queen Haliae swam towards the outskirts of the castle, and the crowd praised their Majesty with louder cheering. She raised her kid up high, swimming further above her kingdom, and the whistling of merfolk and sea creatures alike shook the foundations of their cave. She cradled her small son in her arms, who was looking at her with pure, round eyes, unaware of the reason for the commotion around him. It was customary for the royal merfolk of the North Atlantic to name their children after the Heir was chosen, and so she thought of a name much fitting for him:
“Your name will be Aegir Sonhavet.” She whispered to his tiny ears.
Warm temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit. A soft breeze by the sea, no sign of storm in sight. No prediction of wild waves today either.
Today, Caytlin would go cruising.
She shot up from her seat at yet another cell development class, huffing as she shoved things inside her bag before waving bye to her friends and hurrying outside. Pushing her strands of light brown, shoulder-length wavy hair aside and fixing the collar of her white and blue stripped shirt, Caytlin searched for her house’s keys in her jean shorts pockets. Her hand curled around a cute dolphin keychan and she sighed in relief. Putting her keys away safely in her pocket, Caytlin walked out of the university with wide steps.
She walked, no, dashed away from the building, saying hello here and there to the people she knew in her hurried way, until arriving at the bus stop. She recovered her breath as she waited anxiously, pacing left and right, and celebrated when her bus finally arrived.
A few minutes later and Caytlin was close to her home by the harbor. She walked on the sidewalk, glancing to the calming sea to her right, the view of its gentle waves and its deep blue color filling her excitable heart with absolute joy. There it was, in the distance, anchored by the harbor: her, oops- their, well-kept cabin cruiser.
‘Dad is definitely not home today. Soo, I will definitely come back before he arrives!’ She thought, a mischievous smile on her face.
Caytlin checked the inside of her house, which was on the way to the port, to confirm her suspicions. Yep, he wasn’t home. The winds were sure favorable today.
Passing by her house to pick some lost supplies, which she piled on her arms with hurry, Caytlin strode towards the awaiting ship she and her father had for over ten years already. He had taught her everything about the ocean, from how to maneuver the cruiser to curious facts about sea animals, all of which cultivated her deep passion for marine life to begin with.
Loading the ship with supplies, Caytlin boarded it and steered out of the port, giggling with excitement.
And off she went, towards the open sea.
It’s jammed.
The engine is jammed.
Caytlin pushed the lever again. Nothing. She tried kicking the engine. No results. She tried opening it with a screwdriver and seeing the inside, and her body ran cold.
The wires were burnt. Completely burnt.
And she had forgotten to bring the reserve components.
“W-well, it was an old boat, after all…”
Caytlin’s heart hammered full swing. She’s in the middle of nowhere, for she cruised too far away from shore, way ahead of the safety margin she and her father had stablished. There’s no land in sight, no signal on her phone and no way of returning back safely.
“I-it’s fine! I-I’ll find a way. Dad will notice I went to the sea. Yeah.”— She said in-between panting breaths.
She’d be rescued safely, that’s it. She’ll just have to wait out in her pretty little ship until help arrives.
That is, if the ship doesn’t topple over or break down when that huge, dark cloud in the sky reaches her.
Caytlin gasped and dashed outside of the cabin to look at the storm that was nearing her location. She gripped the railing tightly.
“No way! The weather forecast said there was no rain today!”
‘But the weather isn’t always predictable’, her father had said once.
Caytlin groaned and clutched at her hair, sucking in a breath. She had to find a way out. She had to.
‘The radio! Maybe the radio would work!’ She ran back inside the cabin and pressed a number she memorized all too well – her father’s.
“No signal. Why there’s no signal?!” – Caytlin flailed her free hand while bouncing on her feet and begging under her breath, as the phone ringed in her ear. – “Please work please work please work plea – “
A heavy slamming of something against the bottom of the ship sent Caytlin flying to the ground with a scream.
“AAH! What was that?! —”
The perturbation made the ship swing side to side, as the ocean waves rolled under it. Caytlin got up, clutching her head, and left the cabin, looking for the source of the sound.
What she saw underneath sent shivers down her spine.
There was a huge shadow under the water. Bigger than two to three times her cabin cruiser, and it was moving.
Despite being knowledgeable of marine life, Caytlin’s heart still hammered against her chest.
“Must be a curious whale. Yeah! Just a whale… But…”
Realization set deep within her, heartbeat rocking inside her ribcage.
“But whale season hasn’t arrived yet –”
The shadow hit the ship in the bottom and Caytlin fell with a shriek. Supporting herself on her hands and knees, she turned around, out of breath as she feared the ship toppling over and making her fall into the cold depths below.
Just as she was reaching for the railing, a shadow covered her frame.
Caytlin hugged the metal bar and closed her eyes shut, preparing herself for the splash of a humpback whale but, nothing came.
Instead, all she heard was breathing, like the creature was right by the crook of her neck.
With wheezing breaths, Caytlin clutched the railing with clammy hands. A huge droplet of water fell to her right, hot, humid air blew on her back, making the hairs on her skin turn up to their end.
She turned around.
The visage confused her. Something light blue covered her field of vision everywhere, but it moved, no, it contracted like muscle tissue. Adorning it were dots of bright blue and teal-colored spots, trailing up the fleshy surface and towards a –
A face. There was a billboard-sized face right over her. White, round eyes covered her field of vision, the cerulean blue irises staring down at her. Its unnaturally grey pupils alone must be bigger than a basketball, massive eyelids covered them. A blink.
Caytlin screamed from the top of her lungs and tried to get up, only to slip and fall hard against the floor. A clicking sound reverberated above her and the ship swung under the creature’s blunt force. She scrambled back with wide eyes until she hit something soft and wet and – Oh gosh, it was the creature’s hand, a gigantic hand brushed against her back, claws longer than her head hovering above her.
Caytlin screamed until her throat went hoarse and the creature backed away, rocking her ship with it. She skidded over the slippery surface until she managed to stabilize long enough to sit still and stare at whatever was staring back at her, a few feet away.
The creature was more distant than before, but very much there and not going anywhere. Only when her screams subsided did Caytlin manage to try and process what the hell was going on with panting breaths.
The ocean got eerily silent, the only sound being the ripples on the sea, the huge creature’s breathing, and Caytlin gasping for air. She attempted to calm her racing heartbeat with deep breaths, one after the other, to process whatever was it that was floating right in front of her, glancing at her small frame with widened eyes.
Directly in front of her field of vision, there was a human-looking chest wider than her boat’s length. Three slits laid on top of its torso on each side, which looked like gills, as they opened and closed under the water. She looked up, and up, at something that resembled very much a male chest, blue in color, with those same splotches of bright blue adorning its – his, vast shoulders and —
That face again. Human-looking, too human and not human at the same time, with almond eyes, no visible crease on its eyelids, blue irises and translucent pupils. There were two thin lines over the eyes in the shape of eyebrows. A flat nose that resembled nothing that could be found in a human, as its nostrils opened and closed like the blowhole of a whale. The spots on his face were like freckles, a darker shade of blue than the blotches on his shoulder.
Despite the foreign appearance, he looked… Beautiful, Caytlin exhaled, lost in wonder. Wavy hair flowed from his head like waterfalls, a dark teal color with light blue tips, which curled at its ends just like waves that crashed on the beach. On one of his pointy ears, which tapered on their ends like a fin, adorned three purple jewels, made of a crystal she couldn't recognize. Around his neck there was a glowing, teardrop-shaped necklace with purple beads, while one arm had a silver-colored arm ring. His arms had dark blue spots and stripes scattered in a random fashion, and Caytlin wondered if they were natural markings or painted on.
He looked like a mermaid out of a fairytale. Except the 80-something-feet in height.
“I-I… Am I dreaming?” – Caytlin whispered.
The creature chirped in return in what sounded like a very loud whale call over the water, way louder than any whale she has heard. Caytlin yelped and covered her ears.
The creature sank itself lower in the water, sending ripples through the ocean, but not taking its huge eyes off her.
Such a creature shouldn’t exist. She must be hallucinating. Yup. That must be it. And yet, why did it look so real? Caytlin looked up at him with widened eyes.
“Y-you’re not gonna eat me, are you?”
She only received a confused noise in return. The creature didn’t open its mouth, yet the sound coming from its throat was just as loud as if it was from a speaker. It must be its way of communication, similar to that of whales and dolphins. That was…
Fascinating.
With buckling knees, Caytlin got up, maintaining eye contact with the creature while clutching the nearby railing with all her might. The merman stayed on its place, observing Caytlin with what she guessed was mighty curiosity. The expressions looked so human… It was like she could see what it – he – was thinking. He widened his eyes as he watched Caytlin get up, sucking in a breath and closing the gills on the side of his neck.
“H-huh, looks like you aren’t going to eat me. Phew.” She sighed and gave the creature a crooked smile.
The creature, however, looked down at her with a confused, but curious expression.
And then it got closer.
“Oh gosh, no no no –! “
He raised himself more above water, waves crashing as he loomed over her with a long shadow and – yep, definitely bigger than 80 feet – Caytlin made a note inside her head. She had swum next to blue whales before and what was before her was certainly bigger than a blue whale, so pretty much over 100 feet tall. When the creature noticed she was shaking and backing away, it raised its eyebrows and sank a little to the ocean, with only its face at view.
It came closer to her, anyway.
Caytlin gasped and sealed her eyes shut when the merperson got so close she could feel his breath – and oh, he was carnivorous alright – her heart racing as she gritted her teeth, pressing herself so hard against the wall outside the cabin she thought she would merge with it. It seemed to be observing her, looking her up and down with a curious expression, moving closer and leaning his large hand over the boat, which was on the verge of capsizing as the metal groaned under the heavy weight.
His eyes observed her just like she has seen whales do before. Was this creature intelligent? Was it a fish? A mammal? Caytlin had so many questions…
She slowly got up again, not taking her eyes off the creature, and sighed shakily, calming her accelerated heart.
If she wasn’t hallucinating right now, this was the greatest discovery human kind had ever seen. And she was its first witness!
Caytlin took one step closer towards the merperson – ‘Yeah, I’m really going crazy’ –she thought, raising her hand with a nervous expression. She knew she had to be calm but, it was so difficult! His face rose far above her and she had to crane her neck up to meet his eyes. Taking a deep breath and closing her own eyes to disperse her fear, Caytlin reached out with a trembling hand, little by little until –
A gasp echoed from above her and she opened her eyes.
She had touched the creature’s nose and he looked at her tiny hand with widened eyes. Caytlin raised her eyebrows. For that moment, time had stopped, her green eyes lost in his. It felt so…So out of this world. She smiled, noticing how both were so curious about each other.
And soon the creature acted the same way.
Caytlin yelped when a wet appendage – the mer’s finger, she realized – caressed her arm up and down as it peered at her with those glossy, cerulean eyes. A sigh ruffled Caytlin’s hair, and she gulped down her nervousness as the creature touched her arm, claws grazing her, heartbeat rocking loudly in her chest.
Satisfied, the creature backed away from her and started lowering his head back to the ocean, with a frown on his gigantic face. ‘Was he sad…?’
When the creature sunk his face completely, Caytlin realized with sinking dread that it was leaving her alone.
“Wait!” she shouted, reaching out towards the ocean.
The merperson raised his torso up again, surprising Caytlin as she fell on her back towards the floor with a yelp. ‘Ow, I really have to stop falling down.’ – she thought. He sunk his body again, whistling and clicking with an apologetic expression, and left only his eyes visible. Caytlin got up and sighed in relief when the merman returned. An impulsive idea lightened up in her head: She could ask for the merman’s help!
But… How would she do this?
“I’m, um, you see, I need help!” – she said, waving her hands around. The merman only tilted his head in confusion.
“Oh, u-um, how am I going to do this…” – Caytlin looked down pensively until an idea popped up, and pointed to the vast horizon behind her with her hand.
“Um, shore, land! I need to get back there! See?”
She made a motion of sea waves with one arm, while cupping her other hand over it, mimicking the vague shape of a boat.
“Boat, um, crashed!”
She ran to her cabin, which made the merman raise his head above water, and tried to turn the engine back on, which failed with loud noises.
“S-see? It’s not working! And, and –” Caytlin ran back to the railing, where the creature looked down at her with a puzzled expression.
“So I need help! Got it?” she gave him a tentative smile. The merman’s frown got deeper.
Yeah, he didn’t seem to have understood a thing. Caytlin groaned and sat on the floor, holding her face with both hands.
“This won’t work…”
And just as she lowered her head, loud splashes sounded all around her. The merman was probably going back to the ocean. It was better this way. Help would arrive soon, anyway.
But when Caytlin kept hearing the sounds, she opened her eyes and looked around. What resembled a blue whale’s tail appeared in her field of vision, splashing gently around her. The creature was swimming around her boat, looking it over. As if analyzing it. Her eyes widened in wonder. Yeah, there was no way he didn’t have similar human levels of intelligence. His behavioral patterns were unlike any other animal she has seen. The merman swam back to be in front of Caytlin, with his eyes lit up, as if he had understood something. He covered her once again with his shadow, looked down at her and nodded.
That was the only warning Caytlin got.
The creature’s heavy hand collided against the bottom of her boat with a loud thump, sending her sliding backwards with a yell until she hit the wall of her cabin again. The boat moved towards the direction Caytlin had pointed before in her previous attempts to communicate. She got up on shaky knees, supporting herself until she entered the cabin, and looked straight ahead, widening her eyes in realization.
The creature was moving the boat back to shore. It was helping her. It had understood what she meant!
Caytlin giggled, leaning over the front window with a gleeful expression on her face. The boat glided quickly on the ocean with the help of the merman’s hand, and from the distance, loud splashes resounded from the powerful flaps of the creature’s tail. Caytlin walked out of the cabin and looked up to the merman, who blinked down at her.
“It’s working!” she raised her hands in triumph.
And then, just when Caytlin thought she could not be more surprised, the creature glanced back at her, and the corners of his lips tilted up.
He smiled.
Her jaw went slack. She could not believe this. This mermaid-like creature, despite his gigantic and intimidating size, not only was intelligent enough that they managed to communicate somehow, but was also helping her get to shore. Not to mention his many human-like mannerisms. She was so… So mesmerized. She gazed at his focused face.
‘I need to know more about him.’
But the rocking of the boat followed by a complete stop made her leave her blissful moment. The merman had stopped swimming, so Caytlin turned around, realizing why. She could see the shore in the distance, close enough so she could be seen and rescued, but far enough so that the creature could slip back into the ocean unnoticed. She looked back up at him, who answered with a sympathetic frown, as if to say “That’s as far as I’ll go.” Caytlin looked down.
“Right, guess this is it, huh?”
She approached his face once again, capturing every single detail in it, hoping to write it all down on her journal later that day. Caytlin reached out a hand for him, who complied, leaning his face against it, as she felt the wet and smooth texture of his skin.
“Thank you… I just hope I can see you again.”
Caytlin looked up, and backed away, leaving space for the creature to dive deep into the ocean again. It lingered by her company for a few moments, as if to also capture her every detail, and with a nod, he dived back into the ocean.
The rescue team didn’t take long to find her, even in the pouring rain of the heavy storm. When she stepped safely onto the beach, soaked from head to toe, her dad Charles hugged her tightly, scolding her right after. He was mad, but that was understandable. She wasn’t a teenager anymore, but she sure acted recklessly like one. Caytlin took her dad’s sermon with a saddened but understanding expression, nodding at everything he said, even if her mind drifted somewhere else, back to that encounter by the sea.
Later at night she wrote everything down, from the moment the engine got jammed to the time the merman swam away, as well as observations regarding the creature’s fascinating behavior and appearance, all in precise detail.
Caytlin plopped into her bed, looking at the ceiling with longing and determination.
‘I’ll definitely find you again.’
Looking up at the vast stone ceiling of his room. Aegir’s mind drifted back to that excitable, fearful yet curious human face. He remembered the way her tiny hand touched the tip of his nose, how her dry skin brushed against his fingertip.
Humans were, fascinating. She was fascinating.
‘I want to see her again.’
Aegir raised his body up, and secretly swam out of his room towards the dark of the night ocean. He left the cavern, where his kingdom resided in, with a silent whoosh of his tail, swimming up to the surface. Taking in the moonlight, Aegir closed his eyes, opening his nostrils to breathe in the fresh air, and leaning on his back over the ocean’s surface, letting the relaxing currents drift him away.
Dread sank heavy in his mind.
He had just made a grave, grave mistake.
And he did not want to go back on it.
Aegir looked at the moonlight, lost in the recollection of that human’s face, yearning to find her again.
‘Mother Ocean, what am I going to do now?’
"To Autumn" by John Keats
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o’er-brimm’d their clammy cells.
Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap’d furrow sound asleep,
Drowsed with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twined flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cider-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings, hours by hours.
Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,—
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The redbreast whistles from a garden-croft,
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.
Hold on a second...
Brook's writing pjo fanfiction?
Finally??
Don't get your hopes up party people, it's Connor-cent because I am deprived so I make my own content.
Home grown for me by me and that satisfies my every hc.
Curiously, chapter 1 will not be written in Connor's POV but Nico's 🤔
And then ig Will's. And some time later eventually Connor's.
Here's a sneak peak. Subject to change of course because I literally just wrote it. From brain to digital page to Tumblr text post for your viewing pleasure. Bone apple tea
(Here's another one)
Start of sneak peak
It was the birthright of a child of Hades to command the army of the dead so Nico was quite used to seeing ghosts and spirits. What he wasn't used to, though, was seeing the former vessel for the Titan Lord whistling a cheerful tune right in the middle of camp as if he was totally welcome to do so and nothing bad had transpired two years ago. No one noticed him- obviously.
For a moment Nico wondered if Luke even knew of his existence and his status as a child of one of the Big Three, the lord of the dead no less. If he did and he knew Nico was at camp was he expecting to be spotted by the Ghost King himself? Or was he just appreciating the sights of the home he almost destroyed before he skipped back off to wherever he went to spend the rest of eternity.
But wait, why was he even here- as in, the surface world?
He died two years ago, his soul should have been sent to his father's domain by now. From what he heard from Percy, the Fates themselves carried away his body and Nico liked to think those old hags did thorough work. But it seems even Fate itself makes mistakes.
"Looks like Thanatos missed one," Nico remarked, strolling coolly towards the son of Hermes. "He usually does a good job but he's been on a rebellious streak lately. He's hopped on Charon's unionisation bandwagon and wants a pay raise."
Luke regarded him with an even expression, eyes narrowed questioningly but not so to welcome hostility. "Son of Hades?" he asked, a blond eyebrow quirked curiously.
"That's me," Nico replied, feeling the repressed sneer creeping up. "You're Luke Castellan. I've heard all about you."
Luke smirked, the lopsided kind that all children of Hermes seemed to share, and tilted his head to the side. "All good things, I hope." Gods, he could feel the forced charisma.
Nico shrugged. "There were a few character critiques."
Luke let out a bark of laughter that echoed in the ether of the limbo he inhabited. "That's fair. And deserved."
You think? Nico thought bitterly. He was done making small talk with this guy. He cracked his knuckles and shook them out. Luke was several inches taller than him even leaning against the wall of the armoury but Nico was far from being intimidated by him. “Let’s cut to the chase, shall we?” he asked with the customary faux diplomacy. “What in Hades are you still doing here?”
End of sneak peak
Has Luke ever met Nico? I don't remember. Please correct me if you know, I beg of you. I can't be making mistakes just because I have not read the books since 2015
It didn’t matter how many times you’d done this, you were always nervous. You were able to play in front of a full theatre but reciting lines in front of your boyfriend was intimidating.
“These are the forgeries of jealousy: and never, since the middle summer’s spring, met we on hill, in dale, forest or mead-” you stopped, forgetting what was next when you met Steven’s eyes.
“What?” you asked with a smile. Meeks was looking at you softly, your text between his hands.
He let out a chuckle “Nothing, go on, Y/n.” His lips were tugged up, amused but you chose to ignore it, you had to learn your lines as quickly as possible.
“Met we on hill, in dale, forest or mead,” you continued, “by paved fountain or by rushy brook, or in the beached margent of the sea, to dance our ringlets to the whistling wind, but with thy brawls thou hast disturb’d our sport.”
You tried your best to put feelings and intonations into it, making Shakespeare’s words real for a second and Meeks was watching you, amazed by the way you let your emotions get you.
But it only took you a glance at the ginger boy to break character, an annoyed smile finding your lips “Steven!”
“I didn’t do anything!”
“Yes, you did! You keep staring at me!”
Meeks let out a chuckle “Well yeah, why would I look away?”
You groaned before trying to continue your lines “Therefore the winds, piping to us in vain, as in revenge, have suck’d up from the sea, contagious fogs; which falling in the land have every pelting river made so proud that they have overborne their continents.”
You went on and on, sometimes stuttering or forgetting some words that Meeks would remind you of. When you were done, you let out a long sigh “It was good!” Meeks said enthusiastically but you couldn’t agree.
“No…”
“For a first try, it was!” Meeks was always encouraging and supporting you. No matter what you were doing, he was there cheering you.
You pouted your lips and Meeks could only get off your bed to come by your side “You were good, honey,” he said, wrapping his arms around you.
You let your head rest against his shoulder “I’m scared I’ll fail. This audition is important for me, what if I mess this up?”
“You won’t mess this up. You’ll do great… as always!” he smiled at you before gently kissing your lips “We’ll work on this together and you'll pass this audition.”
You laugh at his enthusiasm, feeling already a little reassured. You settled your head in the crook of neck “Thank you Steven,” you whispered, your hand playing with the hair on his nape.
He hummed contently in the embrace, kissing the crown of your head. You both stayed in each other’s arms as comfortable silence settle in your dorm, the only sound existing being the muffled song of the birds outside.
After a few minutes you decided to go back to learning your lines. With the help of your boyfriend, you were able to recite your lines more and more fluidly, putting more and more emotion into them. When you decided you were done for today, you laid down on your bed, Meeks joining you quickly, his head resting on your chest, you fingers playing with his red curls.
You let yourself relax under the weight of his body, closing your eyes. The stress of your upcoming audition left your mind for an instant. By Meeks’ side you never had to worry.
“Thank you for helping me,” you murmured.
Meeks lifted his head, looking into your eyes dreamily “Your welcome, darling,” he said before pressing your lips against yours “You’ll do great, I know it.”
The way I screamed when I received this commission! I was going to wait until it was a little closer to Halloween to post, but I'm not that patient! @/artbyainna (IG) knocked it out of the park again!
On the Spot
Book: Open Heart (Post Series) Pairing: Tobias x Casey Carrick (MC) Featuring: Vivian Carrick, Jordan Carrick, Sammy and Brooke Category: Halloween Fluff Rating: Teen Words: 1284 Summary: It's their first Halloween as parents of two, and things are a little crazy at the Carrick's, but it's nothing they can't handle. A/N: Participating in @choicesoctober - Costume/Halloween and @choicesprompts Flufftober - Found Family (Okay, it's a stretch... but it is really fluffy lol)
Chaos. It’s to be expected in any home with little children, and the Carrick household was no exception. But, on certain days, the chaos was dialed up just a notch. And Halloween, with all of its events, costumes, and free-flowing sugar, was certainly one of them. Casey was running around, tending to her long to-do list, when the clock struck one.
“Shit!” she spat, peeking her head into the kitchen. “Tobias, you’re going to take care of feeding Brooke, right?”
“Absolutely,” her husband beamed, quickly returning to making silly faces at their giggling baby girl. “I've got this. You go take care of yourself, babe.”
But the makeup kit on the table in the hallway reminded Casey of one more thing she had forgotten to do. Grabbing it, she made a beeline to the living room, where her mother-in-law, Vivian, was having a very important tea date with her older daughter, Samantha.
“Hey! Tobias is taking care of feeding Brooke. Would you be able to do Sammy’s makeup so I can get dressed?”
Vivian shot her beloved daughter-in-law a look that just screamed... really? But her reply was far more diplomatic.
“Casey, dear. What do you think I’m here for?”
“To be an utter pain in my ass,” Tobias yelled from the kitchen.
Vivian let out an exasperated sigh. “I don’t know why you married him. Don’t misunderstand,” she quickly corrected. “I’m delighted that you did... I just don’t... understand it.”
“Aw, Viv, you know I love him.”
“And I'm appreciative," she grinned. "Now, go... get dressed, dear. I'm happy to do my little angel’s makeup.”
Casey rushed upstairs and pulled a teeny black dress from her closet, quickly shimmying into it while stepping into her red heels. After placing a wig on her head, she put her makeup on at record speed. Then, she looked around her room in a panic.
“Oh, no! No, no, no, no, no! Did I leave my shawl at the hospital? Oh my god... I think I left my shawl at the hospital!”
She was frantically searching when Tobias stepped in.  While his eyes traced every single curve on her body, he let out a slow whistle, which brought Casey’s attention his way.
“Damn, baby! Look at you!" He hissed. "Do we have to go trick or treating? I could tell my Mom to take the girls, then you and I could stay home and work on baby number three.”
 “Really?” She smirked.  “You know damn well there is not going to be a baby number three, Dr. Carrick.  Not unless you want to find another wife.”
“Well, that’s not happening,” he assured. His arms encircled her waist as he nudged her hair aside and pressed a warm kiss on her neck before continuing. “I'm all right with just pretending to make baby number three.”
“Tobias Carrick,” she giggled. “Are you seriously suggesting not going trick or treating with our little girls?"
“Nah,” he grinned. “I’d never miss that. We'll save our private celebration for later. Now, why were you panicking when I walked in?”
“I can’t find my shawl! Without it, I won’t look like Cruella. I’ll look like I'm running a brothel!”
“Nothing wrong with that,” he laughed, handing her the shawl. “Looking for this, babe.”
Casey’s shoulders dropped with relief. “Oh, thank God! How the heck didn’t I see that?”
“Because you’re doing a hundred things at once.  Let me help.”
“You can help by getting into your costume. We have to introduce Boston to the sexiest dog catcher it’s ever seen.”
“Yeah, I still think you picked that costume so you can tell me it’s my job to run after Sammy all day.”
“Hey, why do you think I bought you that big net?” she smiled.
Tobias’s eyes glistened. “Just remember,” he said, kissing Casey’s cheek. “Once we put our little puppies to bed tonight, the only thing I’m going to be chasing is you.”
“Hmm... why do you think I got you that big net,” she teased.
“That will definitely be fun.”
“I’m going downstairs,” Casey said, pulling herself away. “It's not fair to ask your mom to get both of the puppies ready.”
“Are you kidding? That woman nagged me for grandkids for nearly three decades. This is payback.”
“Tobias?” Casey playfully admonished.
“OK. Go. Go. But make sure you tell my mom that any Butterfingers the girls get trick or treating are mine!”
“Babe, we have six bags of Butterfingers to hand out; you can keep one for yourself if you like."
"Really?"
"Yes, really."
“Well... I like that... but still... it’s the principle. She needs to know every Butterfinger on the planet doesn't belong to her!”
“Yes, dear....” she laughed as she headed for the door. "I'll see what I can do."
~~~~~
Thirty minutes later:
“Hey, Sammy! Look at Uncle Jordan! The camera loves you, sweetie!”
“It was so nice of you to come take our pictures,” Casey smiled.
“For my three favorite relatives?” Jordan flashed a bright smile. “I’d do anything.”
“Real nice,” Tobias chided. “Omitting one of our girls from your favorite relatives.”
“Oh, you know you were the one being left out of that equation, big brother,” Jordan laughed.
All heads turned when the front door of their townhome creaked open.
“Well, you better up your favorite relatives list to four, son. Otherwise, these two little girls could easily replace you in my will.”
“Why didn’t tell me she was here?” Jordan asked Tobias through clenched teeth.
“Because it’s much more fun this way,” he gleefully replied.
“Guys!” Casey called out. “As much as I live for Carrick family banter, can we finish taking the pictures? Sammy’s daycare party is starting soon.”
“Leave it to my two idiots to make this precious little girl late,” Vivian scolded.
Not wishing to push his mother any further, Jordan decided to speed things up.
“All right, let’s get the family picture taken. Do you think there is any chance we can get Brooke to look this way?”
Casey shook her head. “Jordan, the chances of getting them to simultaneously look in your direction are slim. Just do your best.  No one expects perfection.”
“Uncle Jowdan,” Sammy giggled. “Look! I’m a doggie, I’m growl... RAH.”
“Oh, that’s good!” Jordan approved.  “That’s good! Keep doing that.”
As he snapped away, little Brooke began gumming Tobias’s cheek, leaving him and Casey laughing with that overjoyed grin only new parents seemed to achieve.
SNAP!
 “That’s going to be the winning shot right there!” Jordan declared.
“Thanks, brother,” Tobias smiled, shaking Jordan’s hand. “Are you coming to the party?”
“Do you have room in your car? I thought you were taking Mom?  Where did she go anyway?”
A guilty-looking Vivian turned around just before she entered the front door.
Casey couldn’t help but laugh. “Vivian. Were you heading in for the Butterfingers? I can easily get you your own bag on the way back home. There is no need to steal Tobias’s.”
“It’s da pwinciple,” Sammy giggled as Casey rubbed her temples.
“Oh, no! I can’t handle three of them!”
“Mom, get in the car already,” Jordan cackled. “I’ll stay behind and edit the pictures.  I'll join you for trick or treating after.”
“Editing?” Tobias shrugged.  “Look at these subjects? They'll be perfect. What do you have to do?”
“Uhm... photoshop your hand to a more appropriate place on your wife. It is a family photo, big brother,” he snickered. “Talk about butterfingers.”
“Oh, for the love of God!” Vivian spat out, holding Sammy’s ears. “The amount of therapy your poor child is going to need!”
“She’ll be just fine,” Casey laughed. “Now, Tobias, please drive, we’re running late.”
"Fine," he said, starting the car, but not before yelling out the window. "Jordan!"
"Yeah?"
"Leave my hand exactly where it was," he winked. "We're married, for God's sake."
"Ah, yes," Casey sighed. "It's a very Carrick Halloween."
