There’s the usual “he’s a war criminal who only felt bad about it when he realized his weapons were killing white Americans as well as Arab people” reason, and also he’s just super annoying. You had to be there for the original Avengers shitty dialogue a la “we have a Hulk” that had Tumblr in a vicious chokehold. Also he was supposed to FINALLY go away after destroying all his suits in Iron Man 3 but he just… didn’t! Which is bullshit.

Tony is so annoying. When they first meet he straight up bullies Peter into fighting for his personal bullshit, insults and objectifies Aunt May in front of him, spits into his trashcan and is in general being pushy af. He blackmails Peter when he doesn’t wanna come to Germany with him AND HE DOESNT EVEN EXPLAIN WHY HE WANTS HIM TO COME. Uncomfortable vibes lol.

Tony being the one to tell peter “if Captain America wanted to hurt you he would’ve” when Peter was trying to state his case, yet HE’S also the one who put Peter in harms way when he didn’t even want to go with him???

Telling Peter that he should stick to being a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” (stealing his thing once again) when that’s what Peter _was_ doing before Tony took him out of his zone and filled his head with grander things to be apart of….bitch? Die. Ohh waaaait (jkjk) but yeah

Thinking about how in Homecoming when Peter accidentally caused that boat to get split in half because the Vulture’s gun exploded and Tony was acting like as if Peter was completely in the wrong for going there just because he did it without his permission. He was acting like as if Peter was out of line and “disobeyed him”, trying to act like his father. And then I remember how in CACW he’s the one who scouted Peter in the first place just because he saw he might be useful against a personal squabble between him and Captain America despite knowing that he was a kid and he’s just now acknowledging how dangerous it is because Peter “acted on his own”

Completely hijacking Peter’s superhero story and trying to control his every move (Training wheels protocol and baby monitor thing he put in the suit), acting like Peter should’ve known that Tony would send someone in despite the fact that he’d been ignoring him for 2 months since Civil War and not keeping him updated on anything!!

How the hell is peter supposed to know Tony is going to listen to him when he treats him like a kid instead of a superhero when it’s convenient for him? And when Tony loses his temper after Peter says he’s 15 not 14 like “the adult is talking” bitch he could literally flatten you without your suit!!!

I guess in a way he is acting like a father but like the absentee kind. He’s more like a sperm donor father trying to act like he has any rights over Peter’s life smh.

It’s not that reprimanding Peter for the situation is bad, but the way he makes it seem as if Peter is irredeemable as if Tony wasn't a literal weapons dealer lmfao. He could’ve said what was the truth about it without completely invalidating him saying shit like “no thanks to you” after Peter asked if everyone is okay when it’s literally thanks to Peter finding a lead on those guys in the first place that they were even noticed and it’s not like the FBI being there could’ve in no way caused a similar situation.

And then near the end of the movie when he’s getting crushed by the building rubble screaming and crying for someone to help him where the fuck is Tony?? That scene just proved that he never needed Tony’s suit in the first place to be Spider-Man since he had to use 100% his own strength to lift it off of him. I know he would’ve found the motivation even if Tony hadn’t been involved in the first place to give him the suit, take it away from him and have the words “if you’re nothing without the suit you shouldn’t have it“ echo in his head. Why did Tony even take the suit away? Like as if he expects Peter to stop being spoderman without it??? Holy fuck. This is why you don’t make it out of endgame /j /srs.

When Tony took this suit away from Peter he was like “God I sound like my dad“ shouldn’t that be a red flag to him? Wasn’t he literally just saying that he wished his dad was better than he was?? Lmfao

you’re staring at your untouched plate of food in front of you. the low volume of chattering and jazz music playing, it made you be in a sea of thoughts.

the fabric of your dress made you feel queasy, questioning as to why you’re the person being told to do this. it felt weird. the atmosphere felt weird overall. it didn’t feel right to be in this situation.

your sweaty fingertips lingered around your bare thigh.

there was nothing but tension as you eyed heeseung without flinching. you became quiet as you realized that you’re in a public environment. it would be pointless to argue here.

heeseung mentioned earlier on how you talked back to his employees and rejected their ideas to make your own ideas stand out to the lee family. you can’t blame yourself, you were just helping your husband not fall into their tricks and make his branding fall into shambles.

you’re well aware of his reputation among his workers. he’s not very well liked because of his attitude. although you felt a bit bad for the bad mouthing, you also agreed on some of their pointers but you kept your mouth shut.

“i was just helping..” you rolled your eyes, leaning back to your chair with your arms crossed and your mouth pouting as you speak.

“look y/n i know-”

“whatever,” you interrupted his words. you didn’t want to hear what he was gonna say.

you stood up after you pulled your purse to your shoulder. “i’m going to the restroom.” you didn’t look at heeseung’s eyes and walked straight to the restroom with your heels clinking away.

heeseung eyed you with the tip of his tongue touching his lip. he took a deep breath in as you shamelessly walked away. he knows how petty you can be during an argument.

however, he can’t help but let his eyes linger your body a bit longer than usually as you disappear from his sight.

as you finished washing your hands and drying them out, you walked outside with your head cooled off.

“y/n.” you turned around only to be shocked from seeing someone very familiar.

“haechan?” you called out softly to make sure it’s the right person you’re looking to.

the male figure smiled upon your calling.

then your heart dropped.

your intuition was correct. your ex is under the same building as you. it’s been two years since you’ve maren haechan especially when you decided to break up with him because he was starting to become violent towards you. as selfish you are, you immediately called it off which obviously pissed haechan off.

“i knew my mind wasn’t playing tricks.” haechan started to take a step closer to you as you were busy staring at haechan at how physically he has changed, making you worried.

you cursed at whoever made the hallway from the dining area to the restroom so far.

“how are you y/n?” you shivered at the way he said your name. with much venom. you hated the way that he’s smirking at you when he saw that you became frozen.

you gulped. your eyes trailed to the floor in front of you so you try to walk as fast as you can without your heartbeat dropping to the floor.

flashbacks from your relationship occurred in your head. thoughts of haechan hitting and verbally abusing you made your body be in cold sweat.

before you can take two more steps, you felt your wrist being tugged forcefully. as your body instinctively turned around, it all went too fast when your head was pounded to the concrete wall and a hand choked around your neck, making you cough and gasp for air.

you became dizzy as the pain began to consume your head. you lowered your head, trying to redeem consciousness as you kept your hand on haechan’s grip whom never wants to let go.

“you bastard!”

then hand from your neck disappeared. your body slowly slide down to the wooden floor as you heard multiple gasps around you.

you try to look across at what was happening and you were too shocked to process your husband currently beating the living shit out of your ex.

“don’t fucking touch my wife like that you hear me!?” you heard heeseung’s voice being laced with nothing but anger and viciousness as his body was on topped of haechan, gripping his collar and eyeing him with every death stare. “you deserve to go to jail, you fucker!” you heard another groan from haechan

you noticed a bit of blood on the corner of haechan’s lips before coughing on air.

a staff came up to you, giving you their immediate attention. “are you okay?” they asked gently as you nodded continuously. “yes..” you breathe out.

“y/n-“ heeseung’s hands softly gripped your jaw, making you turn to him. you can obviously hear how worried he sounded and how angry he looked. “are you okay? what did that fucker do to you?” heeseung stared at the redness of your neck, indicating how rough haechan was to you.

“i’m sorry..” you whispered, trying to look up at him but you eyes kept closing because of the pain. “i’m sorry about earlier..” you whimpered when heeseung gently pressed on the spot that your head was badly hit in.

although you may have hate heeseung’s guts but he’s the only person who understands your struggles with being born as a silver spoon. sometimes both you go have deep conversations late at night alone in your bedroom, whether he talks first or you.

“no shut up, don’t mention about that right now.” you can hear the irritation of his voice that always never fails to make you giggle.

“we’re going home and i’m making that jerk rot in hell.” compared to heeseung’s harsh words, his hold on you was very gentle and delicate. his hand was holding your waist as his other hand was around your head, making sure that he doesn’t touch the injured area. your heart was beating fast because everything happened too fast - seeing your ex for the first time in 2 years and heeseung being in your arms in less than a minute.

“you’re cute when you’re mad.” you suddenly confessed as you dug your head to his chest in order to not look at haechan being escorted away from the staff. heeseung noticed as he kept your body close to his. you didn’t say anything, and he knew. he just silently lets you do what he wants and it makes your heart flutter whenever he does this to you.

with heeseung’s brave soul, he continued to stare at haechan until he’s out of his sight. you slowly fell asleep in heeseung’s warm arms protecting your figure until the ambulance arrives.

“don’t worry y/n, i’m here with you.” were the last words that you heard before falling asleep in his arms.

please read this guys because chances are you or someone you know has done at least one of these things because they’re so rampant in this fandom it’s crazy-

1. sending death threats and calling somebody a “boot licker” and a “d-rider” for defending thomas’ silence about the war. like he shouldn’t be saying anything about the war unless he knows enough to have authority on it??? he’s a privileged white man who lives in a place where the war is not taking place. what productive thing would he be able to say about the war?? leave the man alone, he’s not a politician or a military general. if he did say something, it would probably be misinformation. stop acting like you’re some saint because you’re using bullying tactics to make yourself feel more woke.

2. writing aggressive posts about stuff thomas does that is not an issue. what i mean is that he does deserve to be called out if he fucks up (like the whole thing with underpaying his employees), but i saw a post where someone was using super aggressive language because thomas said he was “being delusional” in a short and someone was on their high horse about how thomas was “being insensitive to people who have mental disorders that involve delusions.” like…please go outside. anyone can have a delusion. and if thomas does make a REAL mistake that actually matters, there are better ways to go about it than spewing hate and name calling. he tries very hard and actively patches up mistakes as well as he can, which is more than what can be said about most cis white male celebrities.

3. blatant racism. i’ve been told by white people that my views on poc headcanons are wrong. like i’m a poc??? i would know more than you??? and i try to be nice about it?? so don’t attack me for saying that there’s nothing wrong with race headcanons as long as they’re done in a respectful way? or that just because roman speaks spanish one time doesn’t automatically make him latino and that’s actually a pretty racist assumption? just trust poc fanders. WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE WE EXPERIENCE RACISM ON A DAILY BASIS. white people will never know what it’s like. so stop acting like it. that’s a huge issue in this fandom.

4. a LOT of aphobia. there’s this concept going around that’s like “oh the sides could be ace because they’re not human so they don’t get romance!” like…babes let’s step back and look that over…cuz ace people aren’t ace because they don’t “understand” sex. that’s infantilizing and dehumanizing. it’s possible to be ace just because you don’t want sex in a conventional way. the sides are not a vessel for your aphobia.

5. Trash talk is a part of most sports, but it’s definitely a part of basketball.

Let’s break it down and get to the point: Angel Reese was humiliating Caitlin Clark. And she made the John Cena gesture at a time when Clark and Iowa had no possibility of winning. This made qwhite a few people mad. The real questions we need to be asking are 1) Why did it make them mad? Because Caitlin was expected to win and had already been dubbed the girl boss darling of the tournament. 2) Why weren’t those same people upset when Caitlin Clark told an opposing player to her face, “You’re down 15 points, shut up!”? Why was it cute “girl boss” when Caitlin was mean and rude to someone else, but it’s “poor sportsmanship” when Angel Reese gave it right back to her?? 3) Why are white people sooo comfortable making up brand new rules that suddenly advantage them but penalize others whenever they aren’t in the winner’s seat??

What all the upset white people are really saying is, Angel Reese did not show Caitlin Clark the “proper” amount of respect. Caitlin was supposed to be the inevitable winner.

And it doesn’t matter if Caitlin did the same thing to others. Because it very specifically burns white people up when a Black woman has the upper hand and isn’t suitably “kind” or not demure enough—even to someone who taunted the Black person first.

And for many of the selectively outraged people, it didn’t begin until Angel Reese did something wrong. That is sO very much like white history in America: ignore everything that happened preceding the event. Ignore or make excuses for everything that happened right up to the point where white people got mad.

The same thing happens every day in schools, politics and workplaces: except we call the double standards and made up rules “professionalism,” and certain white people are allowed to flaunt professionalism and other Black people are not.

Also, people saying this has nothing to do with race are lying. A predominantly Black team beat a predominantly white team. This is 2023 America and racism is alive and well.

Who do you think most of those players on the Iowa team are going to vote for in the next presidential election?

And it bears repeating again: Jill Biden inviting Caitlin Clark and the Iowa team to the White House is thee foulest, most white privileged, All-Lives-Matter kind of bullshit. Everyone is super focused on making sure that the white girl doesn’t feel bad.

alright. finally saying this shit.

i used to be a big fan of his and was one of the many delusional fans he harbored so closely that nobody else’s opinions ever mattered. and finally. fucking finally i am free of it.

i swear dream was just another privileged rich white boy who became famous for minecraft and now everything he does is either cash grab (everything to do with techno after his passing and profiting off of it) or acting like he’s a humble good guy who loves to give back (paying people outrageous amounts of money when he can just be an actual kind hearted soul and be genuine and nice to others. it’s like he’s trying to atone for something but also flaunt his money).

he made a song to “honor” techno, someone he was never truly close with (wilbur phil and tommy were his closest cc friends, even skeppy!) just to profit off of it. and then paired with a music video that showcased his sickness and death while making dream be the main character. let’s be honest, he become closer to techno after his passing (because he’s exploiting it all) than he ever was when he was living. it just tells me that he never experienced a death around him before, doesn’t know how to handle it, and is now using it STILL! for profitable gain. LET TECHNO REST. LET HIS FATHER AND FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND LOYAL FANS LOVE HIM AND CARRY HIM FORWARD IN PEACE! if he really cared, he’d make monuments, or donate more, or just sit and tell stories and share things like his father continues to do. i have seen more genuine care about honoring techno from the qsmp admins and philza, than anyone else.

dream has clearly manipulated every situation he has found himself in, whether bad or good, to be in his favor. some of the shit that has been filed against him, painting him as many many gross things, might not be true. but it doesn’t negate the fact that there is a reason why people keep coming up with new allegations, some very real ones. he isn’t a good guy. never has been and no matter how hard he says he tries and believes he is, he never will be.

their reasoning is people now replacing/exchanging “low support needs = high functioning” and “high support needs = low functioning.” and that people assume they low support needs "just because" they can talk, when in reality they have areas or times of having high support needs. (and oftentimes by "high support needs" they misuse it to mean needing help cook or remind shower sometimes...but otherwise can be mostly independent)

here is (how i understand) why functioning labels and support needs labels are different:

functioning labels

functioning labels is about how well you "function" to a mythical (white & white supremacist) nondisabled neurotypical capitalistic standard. it focuses on deficit and problem of the autistic person. it is about how *you* are the problem.

it puts a cap on your ability. other people assess you (with tests not designed for you) and forcibly give you the label. the assessor become the narrator of your story. you lose agency to your own life story.

to use my own unofficial metaphor, a mythical "normal" person have ability 1 to 10, functioning label states a "high functioning" autistic person maybe 1 to 7 or 8, a "low functioning" autistic person 1 to 3. being assigned functioning label say you can only function up to 3. 3 is your potential. that's your max (supposedly). all you can do. (difference is when someone use functioning label for themselves, they are telling their own story and giving themselves a self-identifier, which different from being forced one without the psychologist even bother to understand how you understand yourself and world.)

support labels

support label is of course about how much support you need. it doesn't say anything about your max potential. it doesn’t give you a cap. it shifts from individualistic "your problem your deficit your incompetence" to where community needs to do the work, how much support you need from other people to ensure you meet your potential, wherever that potential is.

it recognizes that each (autistic) individual doesn't exist alone doesn't exist in vacuum. it recognizes that how you function when you don't have your support needs met is not your max ability (because many autistic people don’t have their support needs met).

say, everyone have 1 to 10 again but everyone's 10 is different. support needs model say that while this person without proper support is only achieving 1 to 5, with support they may be able to get to 1 to 8 or 9 or 10. or an alternative system (really up to preference). some people have ability to do 1 to 7, some 1 to 3, some 1 to 12, whatever, because everyone's ability is different and that okay!! as in, for example, regardless of the amount of support i have regardless of how good of a society i live in, i will never be able to live independently speak fluently with mouth words. but even though i may never do 1 to 10 even with best support possible, without support i may only be able to do 1 to 3, with best support i may be able to do 1 to 7. (sorry really awful metaphor that erases nuance like other privilege and oppression faced, bad/good days, it's still a linear scale with a max/cap, but is simplest best metaphor i can think of.) don't know if it makes sense.

can support labels be misused? absolutely. you can’t see a person’s whole life just by what they post on internet. so assuming support needs still bad. but the misuse is not exclusive to "autism parents" and "professionals." plenty of autistic people misuse it too. and people's misuse still doesn't take away how concept behind support needs is an improvement from functioning labels. still doesn't take away the amount of advocacy it took for us to get here.

so no, even though support needs may not be perfect system, but please don't erase the progress and the effort it took.

your tumblr is so healing for me. i just wanted to thank you. seeing conversations about trans man issues is not something i see often happen, especially without 'but trans women have it worse bc trans men are Men and therefore Privileged' attached to it. it's just been very, very nice

that’s actually something i’ve been working on in therapy, being able to just talk about how i feel and talk about my experiences without a million caveats about how other people probably have it worse bc ya know what?? sometimes they don’t!!! or sometimes shit just sucks and it doesn’t matter if someone else “has it worse” bc that doesn’t make what i’m dealing with less shitty!!!

i think a lot of demographics have been made to feel like we have to constantly give caveats with every statement we make about our own experiences with oppression. for me it feels like when i talk about antisemitism i’ve experienced there’s always someone — usually another white person — waiting around the corner to remind me that i’m not a poc so the antisemitism i experience can’t possibly be that bad. and when i talk about my experiences as a trans man there’s always someone — usually another trans masc or other trans person who’s not a trans woman or trans femme — waiting to remind me that it doesn’t matter what horrific thing just happened to me because some hypothetical trans woman somewhere has it worse. and like. there is a time and a place to have conversations about how my experience as a white jew is different and often easier than the experiences of non white jews, or how there are a lot of things trans women and femmes have experienced that i probably won’t. but the time is not literally while i am trying to talk about my own experiences. and that’s how i know when it’s not about making sure i’m thinking intersectionally it’s about putting me in my place or about lashing out because of their own discomfort with what my experiences mean for their worldview.

so yeah. don’t give any energy to the people who just want to put you in your place. interact with the people who encourage you to think intersectionally and respect your experiences.

Ever since I started Clavis’ route and realized that Chev is definitely autistic and not just a miserable dick, that’s all I’ve been able to think about, so I’m making a post about it. The following is a list of stuff from him that seems 100% autistic to me. My qualifications here are just my “as*erger’s” diagnosis I got in 7th grade and the fact that just about every person I’ve ever known is neurospicy.

Hyperlexia, obviously. Normies don’t have entire personal libraries and do the Spencer Reid thing of reading fucking everything all the time and then remembering all of it after seeing it like once.

Callous, antisocial tendencies, lack of social skills and active avoidance of social interaction that makes it seem like he finds it challenging/tiring to perform social interactions successfully so he just avoids them altogether. This is not the same as being an introvert and like, the girls who get it get it, the girls who don’t don’t.

That really strong pattern recognition which allows him to easily make really accurate predictions and makes up a big chunk of what gets labeled as “genius.”

High intelligence, especially since it’s coupled with such a complete lack of social competency.

How harsh his expression is all the time, like he has a really bad case of RBF, makes it seem like he really just doesn’t bother masking at all since he has enough privilege and power that he doesn’t have to, which goes with his aversion to social interaction and his ability to successfully lead a whole ass faction in spite of being so socially inept.

I also think that the combo of the strong sense of justice and the tendency for black and white thinking that’s so characteristic of ASD could contribute to his ability to make tough calls most people couldn’t without seemingly any emotions getting in the way. For example, with Bloodstained Rose Day, he could deadass look at it like “well 1000 people is less than the whole fucking population so alright, go on and just kill them, it’s worth it” and not bat an eye because it’s objectively correct.

He could be especially perceptive due to like sensory sensitivities (idk how to say that so it doesn’t sound super redundant but you know what I mean), which could contribute to his ability to always know when someone is trying to kill him or detect poison or whatever the fuck else.

Now, I haven’t actually read his route yet so maybe I’m wrong but I really don’t think I am lol. Lmk what y’all think!

femme as an identity is about community, is the thing. there’s parts of it that are personal, ofc, being femme interacts with gender & sexuality on an individual level, but there are crucial parts of it that you really can’t do in isolation. & part of being in a community is having each other’s backs. historically, a huge part of being femme was acting as damage control when cops raided the bars. putting yourself between the cops & the butches, or bailing a butch out of jail, or being there to comfort & help out in any way you could in the aftermath. that was your job, as a femme.

bc like. invisibility isn’t a privilege, I know how bad it sucks to be mistaken for straight, but hypervisibility is just as awful & usually more dangerous! obviously there’s nuance here & a white tme butch has privileges that a trans femme of color doesn’t, but all else being equal, butches & masc/gnc women are vulnerable in ways that femmes just aren’t. & quite frankly if you’re not aware of that & actively making yourself someone safe for butches to be around & your space a safe place for butches to be, you’re doing femme wrong.

this isn’t even to say that you as a femme can’t or shouldn’t be attracted to other femmes! femmes are amazing & absolutely deserve all the love in the world! but pretty much every self-identified femme4femme I have ever interacted with has either been actively nasty about butches, been superficially nice but made no effort to actually listen to or include them, or just tacked them on as an afterthought. you don’t have to be attracted to someone to show them basic respect & decency, & some of y’all really need to do better.

Alicent and Rhaenyra still holding on to their friendship after episode 7 is (you could even make an argument for anywhere past episode 5) is pathetic. By the time episode 10 roles around these are women who have both threatened harm to each others children (Rhaenyra calling for Aemond to be “sharply questioned” and Alicent calling for the eye of Lucerys). Book!Alicent (and Book!Rhaenyra) would never. And to be honest I’m not sure why any self-respecting person

would want to rekindle any sort of relationship with someone who has actively threatened harm to their respective children.

Next season I would like to see more Book!Alicent especially after after Blood&Cheese. I would also like some more agency. Alicent not knowing that they were planning on usurping Rhaenyra until after Viserys death was pathetic. While it’s true that in different parts of her life Alicent has been the victim it seems as if (progressively more with each time skip) that’s the only or rather major characterization trait the writers are focusing on.

When it comes to Rhaenyra I would like to solely see Book!Rhaenyra. One of the few things I like about Book!Rhaenyra is that at least she knew she had some sort of power. Oftentimes people like to compare Alicent to Cersei but I would compare Rhaenyra to Cersei. Cersei was a bad person who did a lot of bad things. Cersei knew what and who she was. She used her power and privilege to her benefit and her benefit alone. While Rhaenyra is her own person (just as Cersei is her own) I think it would be in the writers favor to lean into more of those traits for Rhaneyra that her book counterpart also already has.

I would like to see more characters (especially the female characters) besides Rhaenyra given at least some what consistent characterization.

It literally makes no sense. Like after what went down on Driftmark happened I would want nothing to do with you. There would be no trying to rekindle a friendship or whatever it was. No playing nice. You mess with my kid? You’re my enemy now.

That scene was the peak of their respective characters(they seem the most like their book counterparts) because by the next episode whatever development they had gets thrown out the window which is pretty jarring.

I get they have a history, but they should rightfully hate each other. The characterization just isn’t making sense. The writers just won’t let them move forward and show that these women are actually powerful women which is the opposite of what they are claiming to do 🫠

I agree with you that they need to scale back on trying to make Alicent look like she doesn’t know what’s going on at every turn and yeah Rhaenyra is much more like Cersei than Alicent(just way less interesting to me, but still extremely delusional).

It’s pretty clear at this point the writers have a problem showing that while a woman can be abused or a “victim of the patriarchy” she can still have agency and exert a version of power especially over those who are beneath her.

Book!Alicent had to tow the line of Viserys wishes, but the moment he was on deaths doors she had everything in order. She wasted no time in taking control of the situation. She wasn’t clueless. She wasn’t shocked by what was happening. She was instrumental in crowning her son king. The show drops that in favor of how shes a lost puppy who’s shocked by what the men are doing and she just wants her bestie back.

Book!Rhaenyra knowns that she’s above it all, she can do whatever she wants cause she’s the exception, and she does exactly that. Adult show!Rhaenyra thinks she has 0 power(which is utterly stupid considering does whatever and daddy dearest covered her a** 24/7. If she truly had no power she wouldn’t do half the stuff she does). They are trying to make her a good girl who’s just been wronged, or at least Dany 2.0, when she’s not.

The book characterization needs to come out at this point because what’s happening now isn’t making any sense. Don’t hold back and white wash these characters to make them “likable” or “sympathetic.”Show who they really are. Let them have agency.

just like there are certain stuff about the turtles that they like and dislike about themselves, there are stuff about humans who think the same about themselves! and even though Donnie knows there are beauty standards that control many areas in humans society, he still doesn’t understand why people outcast those who are different

I think some of us (readers / shippers) get a bit :C when thinking about Donnie bc in almost every version, he had a crush on April (who is a babe in every. Version. Specially rise, I love rise-April so much, and that’s the only apriltello I’ll let it slide lmao) and that can give a “perception” that he wouldn’t even glance at some of us ( “us” = being a huge group, trans, guys, chubby girls, chubby guys, skinny girls and guys, everyone who doesn’t fit the normie mold I guess- I unfortunately think about that often. Which sucks cuz I gotta remind myself that isn’t true!!! At all!!)

I personally Headcanon Donnie being… I don’t know if interested would be the correct word, but more intrigued with how humans relate to each other, on their first missions, he knew they could… scare some of them off, “frightened by their own prejudice” as master splinter would say, but it’s far more different to hear about it than to actually live it, and it hurts to hear someone scream their heart out just by seeing you

While growing up, he started to notice not only in television, on and off midia, how people would mess around with others on the street just because of their appearance, he knew society worked though this beauty standards, but he didn’t understand it. It didn’t made sense! value someone based on what they look like? There are so many things, so many attributes to make someone interesting, and you gonna pick the most…. Boring? Plain? Vague? Shallow reason to create privilege over others? Really? (And thst enters on the topic of how almost all beauty standards are rooted in white privileged and racism but I’ll go on a tangent about it once I start it and I’ve already said a lot lols)

He could literally go on for hours about this topic (which he has. At least tried with each one of his brothers, but they never really responded well to so said topic “if humans have it bad, then what do we have left?” Raphael barked back once, an attempt to shut him up, which it worked, btw- he didn’t like to go through that direction when thinking about that topic, but yeah, what does he have left?)

He started searching about different aesthetics, ethnicities, he has folders on Pinterest dedicated different body types, cultures, he swears it’s for research reasons, which kinda is, but Donnie’s guilty pleasure is checking “different” people online, those who would deem strange and weird outside the internet, he liked seeing their content and specially their comment sections being filled with wonderful compliments, people relating to different styles and tastes, that gave him hope that there are someone out there with different views of how everyone should be “shaped”, and that maybe he will find someone who thinks he’s handsome and desirable (Donnie, just like Raph, is also insecure about his body, but he’s more… melancholic about it, if you confessed to Raphael, there would be a high change of him pushing you away, trying not to break his heart from actually believing you, while DonDon here, if you both started dating- on some days Donnie would need more reassurance that yes, his partner does think he’s handsome/hot/attractive. Otherwise he might internalize his insecurities and it will be HARD to get a confession “why he’s so upset out of the sudden” from this turtle)

With that being said!!!! (My god I do know how to ramble) without even realizing, Donnie open his “preferences”? Let’s say, Became more open minded than most, While seeking comfort for himself, and when he says he doesn’t have a type, he really doesn’t. There are so many aesthetics that could be attractive! punks, goths, cottagecore, y2k, dark academia, light academia, grunge, fairycore, alt, the list is endless! And don’t get him started on physical attributes cuz there are so many different combinations that some how, people manage to connect the most random ones and make it look great

Donnie wouldnt fall for someone specially bc of their appearance, or that would be the first reason he would fall head over heels, when you think about it, what happened to April it was that she was extremely passionate and dedicated to *insert which cause she was fighting for* and took Donnie seriously, that light up a lightbulb in his head that has never been on before, people showing how ardently they can be into something, how much they care and such, that’s attractive to him, and after that, everything that person does, or is, suddenly becomes beautiful and amazing for Donnie

Withthatbeingsaidpart2- if Donnie did fall for someone more on the chubbier side, their “plumpy-ness” would def be something to call his attention out after he developed feelings, he longed for your hugs, specially after he found out how soft and warm they were, he actually started having more naps after you caught his heart, imaging how it would be to cuddle someone as soft as you while hugging his pillow late at night on his bed (which eventually he would doze off from day dreaming so much)

Talking about day dreaming, Donnie can totally lose himself in his mind, just like with his projects, he can imerse himself in a fantasy about you two easily, which makes him totally freeze when you show up and he actually have to say or do something he has been constantly dreaming about

So please confess first, cuz when I say he can lose himself in his daydreams, that can last for months until he actually gathers courage to do something about it

While in a relationship, Donnie is totally a hopeless romantic, but not the typical “roses and candlelight’s dinner” kind, as your boyfriend, he wants to help you out no matter what, he will make aaaaas many inventions as he can that might increase the quality of your life, becomes easier to do… whatever, literally. And he always longs for your adorable reactions to his gifts

He adores your chubby cheeks, he will! Get lost! in your face! Your eyes! Eveything! He will oh so slowly caress his knuckles softly across it, sliding to your neck, traveling through your arms, he likes to squish your face a bit as well while cupping it when he goes for a kiss, he just thinks everything about you is adorable (and hot at the same time)

He really like the contraste his skin has with yours, it’s so foreign for him and he can’t help but to love how smooth your skin can be, (which leads his mind to ahem. Certain kind of thoughts. If you know what I mean)

Just like he needs reassurance about his appearance, he knows you probably had to deal with more than one unpleasant comment about your physique, so you don’t even have to ask, Donnie is so whipped with you, compliments about you just drip of his tongue, and it’s always so sweet, followed by a pair of soft eyes, always admiring you, plus, Donnie is a science / fact man, he would gather information about other cultures that value more curvy, chubby, bigger people, he would go as far as making a slide presentation how wonderful and more inclusive people are being (even if it doesn’t seams like it, and there’s still a long way to go) he would include real opinions online other than his on the matter that your body is indeed, a snack, (aaaaaand he is once again right, aaaaand just like everyone else you just have to live with it and accept it 😌 end of story)

He would definitely “put up to test” his theory of how amazing it is to cuddle someone who’s more on the chubbier side (and his theory is ✅ correct)

Cuddling becomes a weekly thing for you guys, that being you sitting on his lap, having naps, watching movies together, he loves to create or update his projects with you on his lap, holding you grounds him. Plus it’s easier to speak some kisses on your cheeks that way

He finds out some people on the heavier side stops themselves to live some experiences the hard way, he never wants to make you uncomfortable, ever. But it takes a while for him to understand why wouldn’t you like to, as an example, wear a bathing suit/ swimwear around other people, wearing lighter clothes when it’s absurdly hot during winter time, that you don’t like when he picks you up? things that don’t connect right away. he promises himself to never force you to do anything you don’t want to, but he slowly will try to support you to do whatever you have always wanted to but stopped yourself from doing so bc of your weight

He would take extra time while making out with you, he wants you to know how much he loves your body, every inch of it. Lowkey likes to drag his nails on your tights and mark you

Overall? Donnie is extremely thoughtful, independently of how his partner look like, if they were “part” of some sort of outcast from society, he would take his sweet time to show how important and special his partner is, he is extremely thankful to be able to experience love, something that not only him, but all of the boys, thought it was out of their reach for a really long time, so you bet he’s going to show how appreciative he is oof your love, of all of you 💜

Harsh-Sounding and Potentially Unpopular Opinion Incoming. (lots of them, actually, brace yourselves.)

here it is: On the whole, people do not consider or relate to the experiences of others unless they are forced to. 

Now i am not saying that this makes any of us terrible people. Just that there is a natural inclination to assume that your way of doing things or of thinking about them is The Way and unless it is actively brought to your attention that this isn’t true, you just hang out in your own little solipsism forever. 

i think about this a LOT whenever i see discourse about, let’s say, just to choose a topic at random, racism in fandom. i think about it every time i see a white person say “bUt noT eVEryTHiNg iS aBouT RaCe.” Because they’re right. Not everything is about race. For them. 

It’s that “for them” that trips us up every time. 

(disclaimer: i am a white person raised in the USA. When i say white people/Black people/POC i’m talking about Americans.)

We white folks love to say that we don’t think about race. For us, that’s a kind of virtue signalling. “I’m so enlightened I don’t even think about race!” Give me plaudits now for i am a Good Person. But what we fail to understand is that Not Thinking About Race is only possible for us because white supremacy makes it so. Not Thinking About Race is a privilege we have because our race doesn’t inform every aspect of our lives. It doesn’t prevent us from getting jobs or educations, it doesn’t lead to us being followed around in stores or accused of crimes or shot just for existing in public. This isn’t virtue, it’s obliviousness. We don’t think about race because we don’t have to, because being white doesn’t affect our day-to-day lives and, ahem, on the whole people do not consider or relate to the experiences of others unless they are forced to. 

POC are forced to. (i’m basing this on what i’ve learned from POC talking about their experiences, please call me out if i get anything wrong). POC have to think about race all the time because it’s constantly shoved in their faces, by the lack of diverse representation in media, by the constant stream of news stories about Black people being killed for no reason at all, by their own daily experiences of microaggressions and injustices and downright tragedies. POC think about race because they don’t have the privilege of Not Thinking About It. 

All of this, when brought into the fandom environment, leads to a fundamental failure of communication and understanding. When a POC says “this thing is racist” and a white person immediately replies “but i wasn't even thinking about race!” both those things are true. Both those things are true but they are not. both. equally. valid. 

The POC spots the racism in the thing because they a) think about race by necessity and as a matter of course and b) have direct experiences of racism on which to draw. Whereas white people all too often spend their whole lives surrounded by other white people without any diverse viewpoints or experiences to force them to consider how others might see things. This leads to a whole lot of well-meaning white people who do and say racist things, not out of active racist intent but just by living as a privileged person in a racist society full of racist institutions and never actually thinking about whether their experiences of that society and those institutions are universal or not, or considering how it might feel to be deliberately oppressed, excluded, and unserved by that same society and those institutions. 

Again, this doesn’t mean that we are inherently bad people. It does mean that we are humans with human flaws that we need to be aware of in order to behave in ways that don’t cause harm to others. This is not easy. When you are raised to think in certain ways and do certain things and you know that there’s no malicious intent in any of it, it is harsh and jarring to hear someone tell you that those things are racist. It’s natural to want to defend yourself. It’s not, unfortunately, natural to think “actually maybe they have a point. Maybe they know something i don't. Maybe it’s something i need to understand if i’m going to have a fully informed opinion on this topic.” 

It’s not natural to think that but it is essential. We need to learn how to listen without defensiveness and how to decouple our actions from our beliefs about our character. It’s possible to do and say racist things without being a bad person, so long as when we are told that those things are racist we stop doing and saying them. Believe people when they tell you that what you’re doing harms them, and then don’t fucking do it anymore.

You think POC talk too much about racism? You want them to stop? This is how that gets done. It’s the only way that gets done. Arguing with them, trying to invalidate or silence them—that just takes your racism from “unintentional” to “actively fucking harmful.” That’s where it stops being an unintended consequence of your privilege and starts being a choice.

Listen to POC. Listen to them and do better and then maybe they won’t have so much racism to talk about. Then maybe we can all go back to enjoying our gay pirates in peace.

Here’s some anti-propaganda for Steve Harrington with some propaganda for Ashe Ubert in here!

Out of all the characters in ST, Steve is probably the LEAST tragic out of them all. We actually don’t know a whole lot about him and how the events of the show effect him in a deeper way. As mentioned in a reblog, a lot of stuff about Steve is fanon, one example being what his parents are like as all we know is that his dad is an asshole and his mom is very respectable, and many of the opinions expressed in the propaganda for Steve are incorrect. I won’t be covering them all but the ones I can counter well.

No one can agree on if Nancy actually cheated on Steve or if she didn’t. There are two ideas floating around in the fandom that cause a crap ton of discourse but from the very little evidence we get in the show, she didn’t cheat. Tommy.H says in the locker room that they broke up and Steve says “I think that you’re bullshit” to Nancy and leaves without saying anything else. There is no other way you can interpret that scene. The opinion that she did cheat is used by many Steve fans to demonize Nancy into making her a bad person when in reality she is a traumatized and grief stricken teen girl. The opinion is rooted in a misunderstanding of her character and as a fan of Nancy, she deserves better than being slut shamed by some fans of one privileged white boy.

Two of the four fights that Steve has gotten into where he got beaten up pretty bad happened for a reason. In the first one, Steve was being an asshole and saying shit about Jonathan’s family while also knowing his little brother is dead (we and the characters involved know Will is alive but Steve DOES NOT at this point) and also publicly slut shamed Nancy, which was not okay. The slap Nancy gives Steve and fight he gets into with Jonathan is the entire reason why he changed. Without it, Steve would still be an asshole. The second one was one he initiated to protect Lucas from being beaten up by Billy. There was a sacrifice there but Steve probably knew what he was getting into.

Steve isn’t really being bullied by Dustin. Their relationship gives off ‘older brother and younger brother’ vibes. Dustin also says in s3 that if Steve were to die, he would also die so it sounds like they would both do anything for the other.

Now in the case of Ashe, kid has it ROUGH. The propaganda given sums up a lot of my thoughts and I whole heartedly agree. He’s a teen boy who doesn’t really fit into his own house, he gets orphaned twice and has gone through the five stages of grief multiple times if you include the sorta death of his professer and the death of Dedue in his house route. But even going through all of that shit, Ashe still finds beauty and kindness in the world and it makes him an incredible character.

If we compare the tragedies of Steve and Ashe, Steve’s seems less trivial than Ashe’s. Even comparing the tragedies of other characters in ST with Steve’s, the same result happens. Steve’s tragedies are very minute compared to someone like Will, Nancy, or even Barb and she was only in two episodes and then died but continues to haunt the narrative.

Sorry this got a little long but in short, vote for Ashe instead of Steve. That is all I ask as a fan of both Fire Emblem Three Houses and Stranger Things. I don’t know how strong of an argument I made but at least I tried.

I’m posting this here because I want to gather my thoughts on it somewhere but….

I do empathize with those who are pressuring celebs to say more. To an extent. There are celebs higher up on the “food chain” that would probably receive less consequences than others for speaking out (or not idk I could be wrong, it’s just my observation). But it’s obvious now that most of the time they’ve been receiving some kind of consequence and they’re not entirely immune to it.

I mainly empathize because when speaking out about this lately I’ve felt almost alone, like I’m screaming into a void. I know I’m not REALLY alone in it, especially on company I keep on social media. Also, with the way the media has been, suppression of Pro-Palestinian sentiment (suspecting this is happening on my insta), etc.

HOWEVER….

As I’ve seen similar opinions on here, I agree that we can’t rely on famous people to save us and do the work. Would having their voice help? Sure, but when they actually know what they’re talking about and not contributing to the cesspool of misinformation.

But that isn’t a reason to become complacent and not do our own work. Celebrities have always disappointed us and will continue to.

In regard to Pedro, we don’t know and we may never really know what his situation is. I don’t personally feel like it’s our business, like I do with all things in his personal life! As much as I love him, and even I hope someday we get to hear his voice on things again, he’s not going to save us. I’m not going to ride hard on celebs having exceptions, but they’re human as well and just as fallible. Although, I did want to point out that:

Pedro and his family were political refugees. I’d like to think (I’m not assuming or asserting either) that he has an idea of what he’s doing. We can’t act like he hasn’t been in these shoes somewhat before, or at least seen it through his parents.

He now has several siblings in spotlights and gaining notoriety aside from him. I’m sure he considers their safety just as much as any of us would with our own families.

He might also be very popular on the internet and wanted for all kinds of projects, but he doesn’t have the influence some prominent figures do. I’ve seen this factor pointed out in several posts as well. Pedro is definitely someone that isn’t immune to the backlash he could receive.

I understand with all of this, everything going on, is extremely difficult to witness and try to reconcile with on the inside. I know I’m probably just repeating what many have already said and fumbling over myself a little. I don’t (or at least no longer) subscribe to a lot of celeb culture and have learned to no longer look to them for things like this. It doesn’t make it any less frustrating when they don’t use their voices. But I just don’t think it’s that black and white. Although I usually err to not feel bad for rich people.

SO! With that being said, I’m feeling the pain as well. It’s been very difficult for me to learn how to mourn and feel like I’m not losing my mind over Gaza and how too many people are not treating it as serious as it is. Or don’t see how connected we all really are (nor do I ever assert that my pain could even compare to Palestinians and those with more proximity to the situation).

But we’re privileged with free speech ourselves (I say that with a shakey hand gesture in some cases). It’s our duty to use it for those who can’t and, if anything, especially when celebs or figures with more of a platform can’t or won’t.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to properly describe the pain I know a lot of us feel over this. I understand how easy it is to react rather than respond, become angry (a lot of the anger in general is valid), to get wrapped up in the online politics over whose saying or not saying what.

But the best thing we can do about it is to do that work ourselves.

I’m lowkey nervously posting this because I don’t typically write up posts like this on here but I’m trying to move past that discomfort. I know it’s just another layer of white supremacy to not say or do anything for fear of not getting it right the first time. I’m sure there’s many good points against what I’ve said and I do my best to continue to be an “always evolving and learning” kind of person.

But just to bring it back to what I’m saying: we have free speech and can use it, and we should. Our words have power even when we don’t feel like they do. Maybe sometimes I empathize to my detriment (working on that lol) but I digress.

We can’t rely on celebs to do it all for us. ACTUALLY, we need that energy focused on our elected officials. Because if anything, this is an even BIGGER mask off moment for them. That’s a whole other problem I won’t get into on here, but still.

If you read this and write me off as just trying to justify silence for my fave celeb, then you’re allowed to have that opinion. If I’m ever proven wrong I have no problem owning up to that. I’m just not waiting around for them to say something before I do.
