You were asleep in your bed like usual, your body was weak.

"Lady, Y/N." You heard a voice say as you opened your eyes to see Thor.

"Thor, it's good to see you." You said making him smile softly.

"I wanted to tell you that Loki is back." He said as you smiled, but you knew there was remorse in his voice.

"I need to see him." You said beginning to get up, but Thor quickly stopped you.

"Y/N, you need to stay in bed." He said as you looked up at him with pleading eyes.

"Thor, please. I haven't seen him since I thought he died, I know he committed crimes, but I still love him. He has to know my time is limited." You said as Thor looked at you sadly.

"Okay, lady Y/N. I'll help you down." He said, quickly grabbing a coat and helping you stand up.

He wrapped the coat around your shoulders before you left the stale room.

"Perhaps while the doctor isn't looking you could also take me to the gardens." You said making Thor chuckle softly.

"As long as you keep it a secret."

You eventually made it down to the prisons where they were holding Loki.

"Loki." Thor called out.

"You're wasting your time, brother." Loki growled before turning around and seeing you.

"Y/N, it's best if you just let go of what he had." He said as you looked at him sadly.

"May we have a moment?" You asked looking to Thor as he nodded.

"I'll stay close, just call me if you need anything." He said before leaving.

"I see in my absence you took a liking to Thor." He grumbled jealously as you sighed.

"My love, that's far from the truth and you know it. A lot has changed since you left. I've missed you so much." You whispered, slowly shuffling towards the cell.

"I've changed too, for the worse this time." He grumbled as you looked up at him sadly.

"You could change into anything and I would still love you just the same." You said as he looked down at you.

"Then you're a fool, destined to have your heart broken." He growled as you smiled sadly.

"You've been through a lot, haven't you? I wish I could've been there. Loki, I don't have much time left in Asgard." You replied making him look at you in confusion.

"Where are you going?" He asked as your smile slowly faded.

"Valhalla, hopefully." You said before his tough exterior melted away and you saw the man you fell in love with.

"Y/N." He whispered with sadness in his eyes.

"It's okay, love. I've been sick for quite some time and I've come to terms with it. I'm ready to go, I just thank every power there is that I got to see you before I left." You said as you saw tears stream down his face.

"Thor! You oaf! Let me out! Just for a moment!" Loki shouted as he cried.

Thor came back and looked at you both sadly.

"Keep this between us." He said before the force field around Loki disappeared.

Thor helped you step up into the cell and you wrapped your arms around Loki, fearing that if you let go you'd never hold him again.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I wish I'd never left, I wish I would've been right by your side." He whispered through his tears as you held him close, trying to hold in your own tears.

"It's okay, my love. I don't blame you for even a moment, I love you more than words could ever describe. I can't imagine what they did to you." You whispered as Loki held onto you for dear life.

"I can't go on without you, Y/N." He whispered as you smiled softly and pulled away.

You reached up and wiped away his tears.

"You can, love. I know how strong you are." You said as Loki forced a smile for you.

"How long?" He whispered, closing his eyes.

"The healers say I won't make it last the winter." You said as he nodded.

"There's still some time. Thor, please you have to let me spend these last moments with her. I will serve any punishment I need, but for now, I need to care for her like she deserves." Loki begged his brother, you looked at Thor and you could see the sympathy in his eyes.

"I'll see what I can do. For now, I believe Y/N wanted to go for a walk through the gardens." Thor said making you smile, Thor gestured for you to both leave.

Loki held you close and supported you as you walked.

"Tell me what happened, my love." You whispered to Loki as you made it up to the halls of the castle.

"There's time for that later, darling. Right now I just want to be with you, without anything else on my mind." He whispered, kissing your hands softly.

"Now I believe the Lady requested to see the gardens." He said making you chuckle softly.

"Lead the way, my love."

Never Enough (A Loki Comfort Fic)

Summary: It's not a easy life in Asgard's palace as Frigga's witchling apprentice and a victim of relentless teasing thanks to Thor and his warrior posse. You feel like a failure and a misfit, until the patron god of failures and misfits decides to comfort you.

A/N: Angst, comfort, fluff fic (ultimately feel good). Wholesome. Pre-Thor 1 Loki. Loki x reader. Just a little something I wrote to cheer myself up after a week of feeling like I'm getting it all wrong and being stupid. I hope it makes you feel better too if you're going through the same thing.

You slammed through the double doors and took long angry strides down the hallway, anxious to get to the privacy of your quarters before tears released themselves from your eyes. None of them...NONE of them...had ever seen you cry, or scream or loose your temper, and you'd be damned if they saw it now.

You considered it some kind of dysfunctional personal record at this point. You saw inscrutability as a strength. If you had to feel alone, you figured, you could at least lean into it and make yourself strong enough to not need the people who would reject you anyway.

All they saw was the serious apprentice in the black velvet gown who stuck to the shadows in every way. Thor, however, saw this seriousness as an opportunity for jest between himself and his warrior friends on many occasions. One day, when the entire court dined together, he turned from his pile of food and gallon of ale to smile at you. Your heart and stomach dropped, knowing he was somehow about to make an ass of you despite your best efforts.

He bellowed your name. You closed your eyes and let out a long breath, gathering your patience for the great oaf.

“Yes, Your Highness?”

“Tell me, who do you favor in the races?”

“I know not of them, Prince, so I have no preference.”

“Yes, but for the hel of it. Pick one,” he goaded.

“I suppose Volstagg's steed, as it has the better record?”

The entire room erupted in raucous laughter. All except for one person. The younger prince of Asgard sat quietly with a dangerous look on his pale face.

Fandral shouted drunkenly, “My lady, Volstagg's steed couldn't jump over a single brick, much less a full set of hurdles. Are you entirely sure you're Asgardian, knowing so little about these things?”

Another ripple of laughter erupted around the room. This, you thought, was the final straw. You couldn't stop making small stupid errors lately in your magical training with Frigga. Although she was patient and kind, you could see the disapproval in your beloved mentor's eyes and that was worse than a tirade. And now this.

You took a breath, gathered yourself behind the inscrutable mask you were so accustomed to now, and politely excused yourself for the evening with some remark about the late hour.

Now you raced against your feelings as you stepped quickly down the marble hall, nearly to the safety of your quarters, to privacy. I'm going to make it. You told yourself.

As you reached towards the door of your quarters, a blinding green light interrupted you and Loki's form materialized in your path.

You flinched a little, surprised that the younger prince stood before you with his hands calmly held behind his back.

Alright, just a little longer. Keep it together just a little longer. You ordered yourself.

“Your...Your Highness. What can I do for you?”

He took a measured breath and stepped closer, icy eyes looking down to meet yours, “Dear lady, I was actually wondering what I could do for you.”

You swallowed hard. You had always found the sly brilliant prince intimidating. You studied magic alongside him under Frigga's tutelage. He was spectacular, running circles around you every single lesson. In all these years, he never so much as said an entire sentence to you until now. He seemed barely aware of your presence, in fact, focused instead on larger schemes, ambition and glorious purpose.

You chuckled at the thought. Glorious purpose...meanwhile I have no purpose at all.

“What's so funny?” the prince asked, brows knitted in confusion.

To your horror, you found you had only begun to laugh harder and suddenly you couldn't stop, “Sorry...my liege...I just. Sometimes the arbitrary cruelty of my stupid life strikes me as, well, very tragic...and very funny.”

To your surprise, Loki smiled...not a small polite grin that you'd seen him give many times, but a full wide mischievous Cheshire cat smile, broadcasting an almost manic delight. It frightened you a bit, but gods, he looked even more shockingly handsome than before. You didn't think that was possible.

You flinched a little as he walked closer and his hand came to your face. His fingers felt cool against your hot skin as you realized he was wiping tears away; tears you didn't even realize you had begun to cry.

He nodded toward your door and placed a graceful hand on the small of your back, guiding you. With an understanding kindness in his eyes he whispered. “Come on, let's sit and talk.”

As you sat facing each other on your couch, he conjured two warm cups of tea and a blanket around you. Surprised, you gripped both closer to you and the warm comfort began to seep through the cracks of your icy loneliness.

“Thank you,” you said with a small smile.

He inclined his head of beautiful black hair in a graceful nod. “My pleasure.”

“Forgive me for asking, Your Highness...”

“Loki...just Loki...please.”

“Loki,” you said slowly, cautiously. “Why...why are you doing this? Why are you being so kind.”

He sipped for a moment, taking time to gather his thoughts (a habit his brother apparently didn't share). “I know what it's like. I've been where you are. I've felt what you feel.”

His large lovely eyes never left you, bright and blue and full of sincerity. Not what you were expecting from the god of lies. “Forgive me, Si....Loki...but no, you don't. And no, you haven't.” You took a deep breath and looked to your hands, his intense gaze becoming too much. “You're perfect...at magic...at everything...a prince of the realm. Your place is solid and secure and important. You have a glorious purpose. I...I am simply not enough...not good enough...not smart enough...not enough like them.”

You began to sniff and squint and look away, horrified that the hot tears dared to fall in front of him, of all people. His long hand found yours and encompassed it. He scooted closer and said, “Darling, I assure you, I'm not perfect. I've also been the butt of Thor's stupid jokes and mockery for years on end, the mere spare prince to my kingdom. No one listens to me. I'm not like them. I never was, and I'm not sure why. Much like you, I say very little because I'm trying to be strong, trying to not give them any more fodder to ridicule me. I live in the shadows, just as you do.”

You met his piercing eyes this time, with your soft ones. Loki thought they looked so kind, that you looked so beautiful in this moment and he scolded himself for not reaching out to you sooner. He had always had so much affection for your, but he never dared come closer. You had built walls around yourself just as high and thick as his own, after all. Of course, It didn't fool him, and he always wanted to know what was behind them. “That's a shame,” you said, squeezing his hand. “How can they not see how incredible you are. How dare they treat such a beautiful person so badly?” You said in awe.

He peaked his eyebrows and smiled sweetly, his own eyes welling at your praise. Loki had always seemed dangerous and alluring to you, all angles and metal and leather and deep silky voice. You had never seen him so solicitous and vulnerable. You said carefully, “I...I realize, that this is a gift, you've given me. I don't take it for granted.”

“What do you mean?”

“Seeing you more...intimately. I'm grateful. It's good to not be alone for once.”

“You matter, darling. You are so much more than 'enough'. You are exquisite.” he said, kissing your forehead. “Now,” he said, conjuring a dagger with a dangerous glint in his eye, “Let have a bit of fun with Thor and his friends, shall we?”

- He loves you from right off the bat okay, your beliefs align so well with his and while people seemed to be ignorant about your strength, though he supposes thats what he liked most about you. You weren't just a demure and anxious woman, you had so many more layers to you.

- You were loving, absolutely passionate about those whom you loved and cared about. From your first fight, you showed your true strength and it really impressed Buddha.

- I'm gonna be honest, his feelings for you were genuinely wholesome and sweet from the start. He liked you and he was nice to you, yet when he tried to approach you romantically; you didn't shy away but confidently told him there was someone else. He was dissapointed...ah...so you already had a s/o? He shouldn't be surprised, you're amazing-

- Oh...they weren't your s/o? That's...interesting. He starts to look into this mortal that you seem to be so infatuated with and, well, he doesn't like what he finds. This person has the most desirable person in the world at their feet and they just act like she isn't there???

- How!? Buddha's world light's up once you enter the room. Everything around him seems brighter and more full of life, much so to the point that he notices when you're not around him, everything feels more lonely and sad. It doesn't make sense how they have you in the palm of their hands and yet, still want to have someone else.

- Buddha's obsession LITERALLY starts because of this, he is so close to winning your heart, he knows it! Every shy smile you give him when you compliment him, the way you blush but thank him when he hands you a snack, and how you confide in him. He nearly has you, his heart at his fingertips. But then that person just smiles at you once and you're cruelly pulled back to them. Maintaining a one-sided loyalty.

- Buddha is definetly one of the more smarter yanderes, he could actually manage to manipulate you into giving up your crush. Yeah, he might stalk and spy on you in secret but he'll project his yandere tendencies onto you. Saying how he's concerned with YOUR obsessive behavior (all while keeping his own a secret) and manipulating you saying it was selfish of you to hold onto them when they want someone else. He asks: "Do you truly love them? Because if you were, you'd let them find their happiness...even if it doesn't include you..."

- If he manages to get through to you, perfect! He just needs to capture your interest which isn't hard (look at that man and tell me you wouldn't fall in love, I dare you) since he'd help you recover from your broken heart and put all the broken pieces together. He is now the one you look at during fights, he is now the one you devote your endless love too, and it gives him such an ego boost.

- Yeah, maybe he didn't take his own device but in his defense; you were already the perfect and ideal match for him and he knew you'd love him back...he just had to get rid of the little nuisance that was keeping you from realizing your true feelings.

- If there is the slight chance you do realize he's trying to manipulate you or that your feelings are too strong for your crush, he will just straight up tell you that they DO NOT LOVE YOU. THEY WILL NEVER LOVE YOU. NOT THE WAY HE DOES. Why...why can't you see that???

Yandere! Poseidon x Hinata Hyuga! Reader:

- NO BECAUSE, LIKE, IF THE READER IS HINATA THEN POSEIDON IS DEFINETLY TONERI, JUST A BIT DIFFERENT BUT BASICALLY: POSEIDON FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU, A NEW GODDESS.

- LIKE, HE ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU SOMEHOW DESPITE YOU BEING A HUMAN (to clarify: you caught his eye when you were a legal consenting adult) AND THAT YOU DEFINETLY HAD AN EFFECT ON HIM WITHOUT REALIZING IT.

- He admired you so much and loved you so dearly, in his mind, he hated all humans but maybe...maybe YOU were the one destined for him, you did not digust him at all, and while everyone in your clan had exceptional talent, YOU were the best, even being deemed as "The Bykaugan Princess".

- When you enter Ragnarok, you do it to protect humanity but also for love...Sadly, not for Poseidon's love but for the love of a human who didn't even notice you! One who you gave your heart and soul too and yet, they didn't even spare a second glance in your direction.

- While Poseidon loved you, he hated the person you fell in love with because they reminded him of every aspect he hated about humanity. Their arrogance for taking your love for granted, their ignorance as they never noticed the longing looks that you gave them, and their obnoxiousness as they casually brushed you off. YOU WERE FIGHTING IN RAGNAROK BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO PROTECT HUMANITY, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY: THEM.

- It IRKED Poseidon because he was jealous of a human. He doesn't blame you for having a crush on them, he sees how gentle your heart is and how your kindness is simply too much for your heart to hold for itself so you share it with others.

- No, he was upset at everyone around you. Those who talked down to you, looked down at you for how you acted (even though you couldn't help but be a living symbol of elegance and perfection) but if they had watched you like Poseidon had, that you were far from what they thought about you. You were mighty and you were strong, especially for those who you loved.

- He wanted to romance you, he truly did. He showed his softer self to you when he was able to be around you and tried his best to not look so intimidating but it just wasn't enough. For some reason, that disgusting person you adored was taking Poseidon's place in your heart. It was their fault he couldn't court you like how he wanted because they somehow made you obsessed with him!

- He had to resort to such nasty methods. Maybe he kidnapped your sister like how Toneri did and made you marry him to garuntee her safety. Maybe he threatened to use his position as a God to make sure your little crush suffers, hell, you did kill one of his fellow Gods so he's sure he could get some other God's in targeting your crush as revenge.

- He hated seeing that fearful look on your face but when you finally submitted to him, he couldn't deny it made his heart beat faster. He knows you only went because you care too much about people but he isn't too upset because he knows, after a while, you will realize that HE is the one you should be obsessed with and loyally devoted to because unlike that pathetic human, he will return it ten fold♡

Yandere! Loki x Hinata Hyuga! Reader:

- Aw, you're a pathetic little mouse, aren't you?~ You started out as an obsession right off the bat to him, honestly. Your eyes are what caught his attention but you were so timid and neglected, poor thing♡ He approached you long before the fights started but saw you during the preparations of the whole thing and ah, you were simply too adorable to resist.

- But then when he sees you fight with the Gentle Fist technique for the first time then he is obsessed with you, so the little mouse does have some fight in her, huh? And yet, as soon as the battle is over and he pins you to the wall after your victory. You start to get nervous and stutter and he chuckles and murmurs a: "How precious~" before he lets you scamper off like the cute mouse you are.

- He borders on the line of being all lovey dovey with you and being absolutely mean to you. Like, you're upset because you realized Brunhilde meant to pick your sister instead and asked if you were willing to trade but you just tried to argue that you can handle it...well, tried. You ended up nearly in tears so Brunhilde left to "give you sometime to think it over." which really meant she just couldn't deal with you.

- "Aw, poor little mouse, once more; only the second choice to their big sister." Loki teased. You tried to wipe your tears, not wanting him to he mean to you like he usually is but you couldn't stop them. He just feigns another sound of sympathy as he reaches over and brushes your tears away with his thumb and squishes your face cutely as he smiles, "If it helps, I think that you're much better than your big sister. She's so mean and boring, but you're simply adorable."

- His bullying can also stem from the fact that you love someone other than him, which pisses him off. Usually, he'd be angry at you but he's even angrier when he sees that the person you've given your heart too DOESN'T EVEN WANT IT. AND YET YOU NEVER GIVE UP TRYING TO PROVE YOURSELF WHEN LOKI IS RIGHT THERE. Okay maybe he's a little mad at you but only because despite your all-seeing eye, HE IS BETTER FOR YOU. Yes he's a little mean but that's just because he loves you♡

- He'll bully your crush out of you too. Mocking you for wanting someone who doesn't want you, how you should just give up on them because they're never going to notice you, not the way that Loki does. They will never love you.

- And as your once more crying from his hurtful words, he once more pulls you into a gentle and loving hug and nuzzles his face into your neck: "Aw, they're never gonna want you. Not when that girl is a much better match for them. So you should just give up and be with me instead! I can be so much more for you♡"

- He truly does envy your crush, though. When you're not being sad, you truly are beautiful. The shy yet dreamy smiles you have, the way your eyes flare with admiration and pure love, your face becoming so beautiful that no painting or photo could truly capture your beauty. Loki gets upset when he gets reminded that its not for him.

- He will shape-shift into your crush sometimes as a cruel joke but you never fall for it because of your eyes, but he'll taunt you with it and be all: "Would you give me a kiss now, (Y/n)? Hmm? If I looked like them? If I acted like them?" and you just look him dead in the eyes, your confidence coming out as you glare and say: "No, because my heart belongs to them. And you will never be them."

- You're so pathetic in his eyes. He could destroy you for talking to him like that and you both knew it, yet you risked it all because you loved this person with such passion from the depths of your heart. You fought for humanity not just because it was right but because they'd be destroyed along with it and you'd never let any harm come to them. You will unfailingly run to them again and again just to get your heartbroken but you're willing to endure it because you love them. And as Loki feels what could only be described as heartbreak from your words, he realizes that you've made him just as pathetic as you are...

You and Your Not-So-Ticklish-But-Probably-Ticklish Gods

Hades - You try and tickle him but it doesn't work the way you wanted it to. It does, however, take his mind off of whatever kept him preoccupied (likely something Zeus gave to him to handle). Have no fear, however, because with his attention now fully on you, it's now his turn to find your most ticklish areas.

Poseidon - You try and, uh... he's so disgusted with your attempt. Don't you see the arousal disgust in his eyes? Pathetic. And so, as a 'gesture of goodwill' or, er, something like that, he drags you off somewhere more private to show you how to properly tickle him. Preferably without clothes on.

Zeus - Why would you do this? You know he'd like it. You know he'd like it too damn much. And now he wants to return the favor. Yep. Have fun.

Shiva - Now why would you do this knowing full damn well he has multiple arms and will use said arms to tickle you EVERYWHERE? He promises not to lose the tickling battle to you and makes due on that promise.

Heracles - Ticklish like no. fucking. other. You do it because his laugh is so damn infectious and you love seeing that determined scowl turn into a genuine, boyish smile. You tickle him and next thing you know, you're wrapped up in his arms and he's extolling your virtues, and you... well, you've never blushed so damn hard before.

Odin - "lol," said Huginn and Munnin, judging you for even thinking your attempt would work all while Odin stares at you, unblinking, "LMAO."

– Even though you were telling him you were planning on wearing a suit to Starks party for the past week, nothing could prepare him for ACTUALLY seeing you.

– He knocks on your door, he's already ready.

– You yell back "one second !" and he patiently waits while you finish up your attire.

– After a minute he hears you tell to come in.

– He softly opens the door and tracks around the room until he finds your figure standing in front of the mirror fixing the final touches.

– He totally did not stare for the longest, frozen in place.

– "Buck, what's wrong?"

– That snaps him back to reality and he quickly apologizes.

– You definitely laugh at him.

– He's just very proud to have you as his date.

– Wolf whistles when both of you walk in.

– He has the biggest smile on his face.

– Proud Sam and Steve.

– He would never hear the end of the stories you told about him when he first saw you.

– Overall just silently flustered.

Steve:

– you both always get ready together, so while he got ready you went in the bathroom quickly to throw your outfit on.

– Once you were done you walked out of the bathroom and he smiled so quickly, wasting no time in showering you with millions of compliments.

– "You look so gorgeous."

– "I'm so lucky to have you."

– Would not stop.

– Even days after, he would still compliment you about it.

– Wherever you guys were going he made sure to always have an arm around your waist, or holding your hand.

– Made sure to buy you flowers and your favorite drink.

Tony:

– Obviously, you were the first to hear about when Tony was hosting a party, so you already had what you were gonna wear in time.

– He asked F.R.I.D.A.Y. to send a message to you asking if you were ready.

– The message played over the speaker and you sent one back telling him to meet you in the living room on your floor.

– Whenever he got down to the living room and saw you sitting on the couch he immediately started smirking.

– Definitely snuck up on you trying to scare you, but gets mad when you throw something at him.

– Compliments, compliments, compliments.

– Throughout the whole night, the majority of them were wholesome but there was always a comment here and there that was definitely suggestive.

– Bragged on you to everyone for weeks.

Natasha:

– You always end up planning date nights since she is always caught up in work.

– You made sure to plan it when she wasn't busy and surprised her with flowers and a ride to both of yours favorite restaurant.

– When you knocked on her door and texted her you were outside she confusedly hurried to the door.

– But of course, her suspicions were true when she opened it to see you holding flowers, and dressed in a suit.

– She was definitely smirking the entire time you were explaining what you planned.

–Could not keep her hands off of you, but obviously liked the privacy more.

– She loved everything you did for her of course, but couldn't wait for the both of you to get home.

Bruce:

– There was a grand opening of a new restaurant near the compound and you two planned to go on opening night, you had already got the reservation.

– Even though you both hated going in crowded areas, just the general public, Tony had convinced you both it would be fun.

– You were getting ready at your friend's house, when he texted you telling you he was on his way to pick you up.

– You finished up and packed all your stuff up from the visit and talked with your friend until you heard a knock on the door.

– You heard your phone ping and you said your goodbyes to your friend.

– "Good luck y/n, have a good date!"

– "Thanks f/n, see ya!"

– He saw the door open and saw you and his knees almost gave out.

– Bro was immediately put on life support.

– Would not stop complimenting you, even though half the time he was just mumbling and stuttering, you knew what he meant.

– He was red the whole dinner, and that definitely didn't help already being nervous.

-You guys ended up leaving early to go home and cuddle up to watch a movie.

– cannot get the image of you in a suit out of his head for weeks.

Thor:

– You two have been visiting Asgard for about a week when Thor asked you to join him at an Asgardian party being hosted by him.

– you had a while to get ready and choose to wear an Asgardian suit that Loki suggested oddly enough.

– Even though they don't always get along, you trust that Loki knows Thor enough to suggest wearing it.

– Well, it was a beautiful outfit so really who wouldn't love it?

– You hear Thor's boasting voice from down the hallway and smile walking out the door.

– You have never seen him smile so brightly.

– He was so proud.

– He would be bragging and yelling while having you pulled close beside him.

– "THIS IS LADY/SIR Y/N, AREN'T THEY AMAZING?!"

-Compliments you loudly the whole time.

– Can't wait to get you alone.

Clint:

– you know he has to make an appearance to all Tony's parties.

– Obviously, even though you were already going, he made a grand gesture of asking you to go with him.

– He knew that you were so excited because you bought a new suit and he was so eager to see you in it.

– You knocked on his door ready to go down since the party started around 20 minutes ago.

– You guys always made a grand late appearance, stayed till the after party then disappeared in the middle of it.

–I'll let you guess what you guys do when you disappear.

– He opens the door and pulls you into his arms softly dancing around the hallway.

– You guys laugh for the longest and he twirls you around like a princess.

– After a while you guys walk down hand in hand ready to absolutely destroy everyone on the dance floor.

– Needless to say, he is so thankful to have you by his side.

Loki:

– Let's just say he was the one who asked you to wear a suit.

– Of course it was an Asgardian dark green, black, and gold suit.

– Even though you guys were just going out to fuck around with people and grab food you both love fashion and overdressing for everything.

– When he saw you walk out of the bedroom while he was waiting in the kitchen for you to finish.

– He definitely considered kneeling for you.

– "Even though it takes decades for you to get ready, it's definitely worth it to see you in your glory darling."

– Compliments in the most random of times.

– Holds your hand almost the whole time so everyone knows you're his.

– Just makes him think about how much he loves you and how excited he is to spend his life with you.

– Suggests everyday for at least a week that you should wear it again.

Wanda:

–Tries to mentally prepare herself.

– While you're getting ready she tries to peak so many times.

– silently sits on the edge of the bed tapping her foot on the floor impatiently.

– When she first sees you, you can't see a change in her face but inside she's contemplating risking it all.

– You have to remind her to breathe.

– She's definitely thinking about some stuff the whole time.

– probably reads people's minds around you guys to make sure no one thinks about taking you.

– prepares to fight anyone that comes in a 20 foot distance

– tells you how beautiful you are 100 million times.

– She has never felt so lucky.

Peter:

– It was the night of prom and you had just finished getting ready.

– He really wanted to see what you were wearing because a couple weeks before you asked what color his tux was.

– He knocked on your door, your parents telling him that you were upstairs.

– you hear him faintly call your name from the hallway and you tell him to come in.

– He walks in and immediately starts lagging.

– "I- wow. Wow you look wow. You look amazing y/n"

– red as you've ever seen him.

– won't stop telling you how much he loves you and how amazing you look.

– won't let you out of his sight.

– Tony and Bruce will be hearing about it for years.

Sam:

– You were going with him to a party for a mission that Fury assigned to you.

– you gave the idea to match with him.

– "We're matching suits. Whether you want to or not."

– complains, but deep down is so excited.

– Bucky will definitely be stuck looking for suits with you online.

– You make him get out of the room and sit in the living room so you can do a grand reveal.

– you play music from a speaker and walk out.

– He's laughing but he's also blowing up.

– Full breakdown on the inside.

– Bucky just smiles seeing you guys act so stupid.

– will aggressively compliment you and find a time to dance with you when you finish the mission.

Pietro:

– While you're getting ready he will probably try to secretly peak with his speed.

– although it's not easy to hide when you feel a gush of wind hit you when your fan is off and the window is closed.

– "PIETRO STOP PEAKING !!"

-"...sorry" you hear yelled back in the quietest yell you've ever heard.

– impatiently runs around the city.

– You yell to him that you're done and in an instant you have him in front of you pulled close with his hands around your waist.

– "You look ravishing, princessa.'

– Glares at anyone who even glances at you.

– "Why are they staring?" in the most puppy dog voice you've ever heard.

– "They're staring at you piet."

– Won't let go of your hand or arm.

Wholesome/lil angst headcanon?

Lokius are recent husbands and when Loki meets Mobius kids for the first time, it reminds them of him and Thor as littles, so he decided that one of his objectives, is to give them the best parenthood he can, and no repeat his dad's steps.

What direction would you have enjoyed most for Thor and Loki after TDW?

I recall in the long dry years between TDW and TR, a large part of the conversation in the fandom around this topic was on how pissed off Thor would be when he learned that Loki hadn’t actually died and had kept that fact from him (or “faked his death,” however you wanna phrase it) and how much trust would have to be rebuilt. And there is definitely that aspect of it. I think there was trust that needed to be rebuilt on both sides, in fact, and many long-overdue conversations about everything that had gone wrong to get them to that point. Conversations about Loki’s ancestry and his miscalculation with the Destroyer and all the questions Thor didn’t ask when Loki reappeared and not visiting him in the cells and ancient resentments and so many other things.

But most of the fandom, in the discussions I’ve seen, seems to have been hoping for resolution between them, for things to get all healed and tied up in a tidy little bow and have their character arcs just ride off into the sunset and… yeah, I don’t want that. I never wanted that. There is way too much emphasis these days on “healthy” and “wholesome” and, goddamn, like what are y’all doing looking at these two if you’re looking for therapist-approved wellbeing? You’re digging in the wrong place. (Something that I feel is carried over from Norse mythology into their characters is the idea that there is value and importance in lives that don’t have a Happily Ever After, worlds ending in destruction and final defeat but with a deep integrity to what mattered. The world doesn’t promise healing. Sometimes, living with the knowledge that things will not be fixed in the end but it all matters anyway, and the connections between people matter, and the ability to find flickering moments of joy amidst the sorrows… to me that is far better, far more fitting to who they are than any tidy, happy resolution could ever be.)

One of the things that I love about many of their comics arcs is the sense that while things do change between them over time, with different emphases coming into focus and into prominence, there is an essence to both of them that keeps them in perpetual conflict and ALSO keeps the love strong enough that neither of them ever wants to go their separate ways permanently. They both have their own lives, with Thor doing his best at heroing and Loki doing his best at being himself, but Their Relationship is a constant, and it’s nobody else’s business, and whether they’re on opposite sides in their daily lives doesn’t really factor into it.

So basically, in my ideal world in which phase 3+ didn’t suck, TR would have involved some of those long-overdue conversations and some working together against a bigger bad, but the kiss-and-make-up would have been incomplete, like an unresolved chord at the end of a phrase of music. Loki would have disappeared again but this time making sure Thor knew he wasn’t dead, and he’d have popped up again from time to time, always with uncertain allegiances, to have a few poignant interactions with Thor, or to absolutely destroy some big bad that’s threatening Thor’s life but in the meantime doing something that makes it seem like he got some material gain out of doing so (just to keep everyone on their toes), and if anyone questions this in Thor’s presence you’d get a very stormy look and a subtle suggestion that he doesn’t have to be slumming it on Earth.

Loki would be there to be The Most Important Person in Thor’s life even when he’s not physically present, and the niggling itch that never quite goes away from the fact that things aren’t resolved and may be unresolvable. (Having a relationship like that—where it is possible or likely that things can’t be fixed—is actually really important to telling Thor stories that have emotional weight. Resolving the relationship or making the question null through death cuts off so many of the important questions that cling to Thor in themes and resonances. To a character who embodies the virtue of striving for heroism and goodness, an unquenchable love for such a liminal character as Loki, whose moral standing flits all across the field at any given moment, and having Thor see that not as a problem, as a liability or an inconsistency but instead as a value in itself—that keeps Thor from becoming an insufferable, inflexible moral pedant.) And Thor—Loki’s love and devotion to Thor, mingled with his resentment of him and the lingering frayed edges of his trust and the centuries-old anger and desire to win against him just once—would be there to rest like a base color underpainted beneath everything Loki does in his schemes and clever workings and, a gnarled anchor or a rusted root, keep him from wandering too far afield.

And, I mean, they’re gods. If you carry any story on long enough it ends in death, but in a story of superheroes and modern legends, the gods should still be there in the end, at the edge of the tale, perhaps, but continuing nonetheless, spinning against the stars, the huge half-invisible shadows of giants bordering the far horizon, the cycles of their lives so much longer than ours.
