#why lesbians simp for fictional men

Note
stop simping over women and pay attention to your husband. You clearly made your choice to be with a man and have his child rather than choose a woman. You bisexual women don’t get to exist in lesbian spaces when you lean towards men. Unless your husband lets to you step out on your marriage or lets you have delusional thoughts that any lesbian would want a woman knocked up by a man. You bisexual women who lean more towards men or are with men have no right to be in sapphic or lesbian spaces. And lady d is a lesbian so as if she would be with someone who let a man touch them let alone knock them up.
Oh, I'm sorry, did my husband tell you that I'm not giving him enough attention? Didn't think so.
Yes, I made a choice to be with him, because I fell in love with him. Because he's my best friend and my biggest supporter in everything I do (yes, he even supports my writing and fics and he tells me often how proud he is of me). I did not chose him because he's a man. Truthfully, his gender had absolutely nothing to do with why I married him. I just happened to fall in love with and marry a man, but that does NOT make me any less of a bisexual woman.
"You bisexual women..." and people question whether or not bi-erasure is a thing, meanwhile, this entire ask is such a great example of just that😒
"delusional thoughts that any lesbian would want a woman knocked up by a man." is truly offensive to not only every bi woman who has been with a man, but any woman who has. What about the lesbians that got pregnant by men?? Because this may come as a shock to you, but it does happen. It may not happen a lot or often, but it does. Does that mean that those women are "tainted" or "ruined" also??? No it fucking doesn't, you idiot.
It really makes me laugh when people try and use a fictional character to make a real life argument. You want to know why? BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT FUCKING REAL!!! So honestly, you have absolutely no idea if that's true or not because she's a fake fucking character from a video game. Are you also this upset at the fic writers who make her trans??? Or what about fic writers that make Alcina's partner trans??? Or are you just that much of biphobic person and this is the hill you're choosing to die on?? Either way, you're an actual bigot.
This post just SCREAMS biphobia and bi-erasure and it's fucking gross. You are so very obviously projecting your own issues and insecurities in this and honestly I would be embarrassed if I were you. Because not a single thing you said is true AT ALL or holds any merit.
Bisexual women who lean towards men or who are with men ABSOLUTELY do belong in those spaces. Just because a bisexual woman is married/with a man or leans towards men does not discredit or change their sexuality. No bi person automatically becomes straight if they date/marry the opposite gender or become gay/lesbian if they date/marry the same gender. It's called BIsexual. More than one gender. You do not get to invalidate every bi person with this shitty (and inherently wrong) opinion.
I know you wrote this trying to get a rise out of me, and congratulations because you succeeded. But I also know that people like you leave messages like this because they feel so broken and hurt and shitty that they want others to feel like that too. Unfortunately for you, I grew up in the era that birthed anonymous hate messages so you'll have to try harder next time. Not only that, but I am proud and confident in who I am and no pathetic anonymous (especially anonymous, you pussy) message is going to shake me.
I am a proud bisexual woman. I am proud to be married to my husband. I am proud that I will soon be the mother of a little boy who I will raise to be a much better person than you'll ever be. I am proud of what I've written and no, I will not stop.

SHIPPING DISCOURSE UNDER THE CUT:
listen. i don’t understand shipping, everyone knows that. that said, i do understand its part of fandom culture and thats totally fine. people are allowed to like what they like without anyone being mean about it…as long as it doesn’t harm anyone.
a lot of these ships aren’t canon. there’s no way around saying that, just because you want to see them that way doesn’t make it so and that’s fine. things don’t have to be canon for you to enjoy them. you can write fanfic, make fanart etc etc and it doesn’t have to be canon.
it genuinely doesn’t compute in my brain why everyone is going around fighting and harassing people over the insistence that a fictional character is gay/bi/in love with so and so. these animes are shonen anime. they are geared towards young men…they are not supposed to be romantic or about romance. most of the time they don’t have any romance and if they do it’s generally not at the forefront. there are however romantic animes, there are animes geared toward gay relationships, there are animes for what you’re looking for…so why is it so hard to go watch those instead of pushing it into animes where it’s not there.
i watch anime for the action and the fantastic storylines/themes. do i simp over the boys? sure. but that’s not why i started watching it and there’s plenty of animes i watch where i don’t simp over anyone. i don’t like romance which is why i don’t normally watch romantic anime, there’s a whole subgenre i steer clear of for that reason.
so because of that i’m confused why people need to come into these anime spaces that aren’t about romance and push that onto canon? again it’s fine for you to ship if you separate the fanon from canon. plenty of my tumblr friends/moots do so and they do so respectfully and i love those people and i have no problems with them shipping at all. it’s just frustrating to keep seeing people getting harassed and called names by faceless people who are getting mad over the fact two pixels aren’t in love. it’s crazy. please please think before you start sending hate. we are all for the most part grown adults here and yall are acting like children on a playground.
and even if after all this you still want to believe it’s canon than whatever…do you believe whatever you want nobody is stopping you. but stop harassing people who point out that it’s not canon because we all should be coming together appreciating these stories together and being kind to one another instead of sending hate messages over something that isn’t real.
and before anyone comes at me saying i’m only talking about gay male ships the ONLY reason is because i haven’t seen one person who ships lesbian ships come after anyone over their ship, they enjoy it in peace.

"Why do you like lumine but think aether is ugly 🤨" BECAUSE IM A RAGING FUCKING LESBIAN
Most men just don't look that good to me except like a bunch of fictional ones. That isn't Aether's fault by any means but wow I don't like looking at him too long.
I don't even like the popular fictional anime men that most women my age were simping for like Sebastian Michaelis or Levi Ackerman or Gojo Satoru that much. What makes you think some self insert male mc from a gacha game is gonna make me have the hots???
Also ngl I just don't like how his design was executed, I get the concept but it just doesn't work for me.

Fandom Lesbophobia
No but the way fandom treats lesbianism, whether canon lesbian characters or characters headcanoned as lesbians, or ships involving lesbians(whether canon or fanon) is fucking whack.
Whenever a female character is canonically confirmed to be a lesbian, “fans” will always go the whole nine yards in trying to prove that the character is bi; they’ll always headcanon the character as bi and ship them with men. If you politely tell them that the character is a lesbian they’ll snap at you and call you biphobic or say there’s no proof of that or that “everyone can have their headcanons regardless” not when it’s actively erasing a canon sexuality being represented, ya dipshits. I can’t think of a single gay female character I’ve seen that hasn’t been called bi or even straight or had their sexuality dismissed by being shipped with men: Apple White, Tomoyo Daidouji, Robin Buckley, Amity Blight, Velma Dinkley, the list goes on and on.
Even when the character isn’t canonically a lesbian but is headcanoned as such people seem super against it and will be super bothered by it for some reason. Like they’ll always ask you “why” you hc the character as a lesbian and say “but she could be bi!” And yeah, she could, but what’s so wrong with me seeing her as a lesbian? Why not just make your own post about the character being bi? And then they’ll go on to derail your post by talking about how much they ship the female character with a man. Why are you so offended at the possibility of a female character not being attracted to men? Why do all women have to be available to men, even in fiction?
Imo people seem to hate lesbian headcanons the most, even compared to other headcanons. It’s as if a female character being unattracted to men completely intimidates them and/or is something they can’t comprehend, whether it’s canon or not. Just looking at the Encanto TikTok, when it comes to queer headcanons, fans on there seem to hate the lesbian Isabela one the most. And no, I’m not talking about Colombians who don’t want the message of the movie to be erased, I’m talking about people who simply don’t like the headcanon because they are homophobic/lesbophobic. Maybe it’s just me being an Isabela simp and looking at more content of Isabela and since I’m a lesbian the headcanon I tend to look at the most is Isabela being a lesbian as well(especially since I also have the headcanon myself), but I see it all the time, even more so than hatred for Mirabel being bi or Camilo being genderfluid even though the latter is possibly the most baseless.
Like I am so sick of people getting mad at others for headcanoning Isabela as a lesbian and using Bubo as an excuse even though his character is a rough draft and not canon. And it’s funny as well because most people don’t even like Bubo. Bring him up to an Encanto fan and they’ll instantly say they dislike him. But suddenly you want him to be with Isabela because it’s still better than Isabela being a lesbian. I even saw someone’s account receive death threats, attacks, and hatred just because they headcanoned Isabela as a lesbian, and it culminated in them taking down all their Isabela lesbian content and uploading an apology video instead, and all the comments were saying “it’s okay I forgive you now that you understand” WHAT?! So you only feel bad that she received hate because she no longer has the headcanon? It’s fine for her to receive death threats as long as she does have it though because she deserves it for thinking a fictional fucking female character isn’t attracted to men. Fucking sickening.
Don’t even get me started on how much more popular slash generally is compared to femslash. Because as we all know if a relationship doesn’t have men at its center then it’s not worth paying attention to and not to mention people will attack you for having the ship all the time as well. Even if it is canon don’t think that will stop fandom from tearing the ship apart and pairing one or both characters with boys. Alternatively very often slash pairers will only ship f/f ships to get them out of the way of their slash ship, and I’ve seen a lot of fics while looking for a femslash pair that I want that are tagged as such but only have that relationship in the background/as secondary. And the main and “foreground” ship is always an m/m ship every. single. time. This post goes into it in more detail so that I don’t have to, but the point is made that it’s so upsetting because this all directly stems from centering of men in society as well as fandom. idk it just frustrates me. And I wish this was acknowledged more.
TLDR: I’m tired, please just respect lesbian characters more in fiction and let people have their lesbian headcanons and ships, that is all. Lesbians deserve better.

Today I had a slightly uncomfortable conversation with a middle aged man. It was so funny to see how baffled he was. I told him I’m 29. And he also asked me if I had a boyfriend and children. I said no and he asked why. I told him I’m too lazy. He was so confused lol. And he got more confused when I told him I don’t like to go out and prefer to stay at home. And then I had to proceed to explain why I don’t want kids. I didn’t do a good job but we got interrupted. Thank god! I told my mom about it and she said he probably thinks I’m a lesbian. Lmao it’s not like that’s a bad thing. If only they knew that I spend majority of my time simping over fictional men.
Also some old man at the grocery store told me and my sister that we need to marry a good black man.
Too many awkward conversations this weekend.

If you are a lesbian and you "ONLY" like girls, why do you simp for so many men? And if you don't support gender stereotypes, what do you have against trans and non-binary people? Everything you say makes no sense.
The fact that I like some fictional male characters does not make me hetero. Lesbians are women who in real life only love women (ONLY WOMEN and not ugly men with makeup who call themselves women). Trans and non-binary people support stereotypes by their mere existence. Enough material has been written about this for you to see for yourself.

Sometimes because of my confusing gender it confuses my already confusing sexuality. Why do I feel guilty for simping for a fictional old gay man because I look femme and I know that it isn't his type? Why do such trivial things do me in like this, aaaaaa
nodding i absolutely feel you. my early days of IDing as a lesbian were extremely fraught when i realized. oh shit i like guys too. well some guys. not all guys? can i romantically like guys? am i romantically interested in anyone at all? i cant tell!!!!!!! its fuckign freaky!!!! my best advice is to really just realize. how much it does not matter. no one should give you flack for how you feel. you can call yourself femme and like men . the best part about fiction is that it isnt real and you can do whatever you want. unlock creative mode. have fun with it when you can do that in your head you can do it in real life too!!!!!

The fact that people are getting mad at Male Trailblazer x HSR Seele/Bronya shippers because apparently Seele and Bronya were lesbians in fricking Honkai Impact 3rd is just so funny
But I guess some people are so braindead that they need to be spoon fed the obvious fact that is how HSR Bronya and Seele are not the same people as Honkai 3rd Bronya and Seele. Everyone is okay with them having different character designs, personalities, and backgrounds compared to their Honkai 3rd counterparts, but the idea of them possibly having a different sexual orientation other than lesbian, like, say, bi or pan, gets everyone's panties in a twist
This cold, stone hard fact may be too much for some of y'all, but Hoyoverse's biggest goal at the end of the day is profit. Check Da Wei's speech back at 2011. Does this speech makes it look like Honkai was created as a safe space for lesbians to see themselves in fictional characters? NO! Honkai was created to meet the need of otakus. It's meant to be a heaven for anime fans who are starved for female affection but won't go outside to actually form relationships with real women. Why do you think Wei called the characters virtual idols that hold a relationship with the player? Why do you think touch interaction was even added in the first place? Why do you think Yae Sakura forgets about Kallen and simps for the player at affection level 4? They know their audience, it's horny weebs and they wanna appeal to them. While Hoyoverse may support lesbians (and tbh I think they do), you have to realize that at the end of the day, money rules everything. This is why whenever someone says some delusional bs like "Honkai is not a safe space for cishet men!", I just laugh. What do you think the majority demographic of Honkai is? Who do you think the game was made for in the first place?
So in conclusion, getting mad at HSR Seele/Bronya x Male Trailblazer character is literally the dumbest thing anyone can do. Hoyoverse isn't going to be mad at straight male players for shipping themselves with Bronya/Seele (or any of the so-called canon lesbians for that matter) or drawing fanarts of the ship, if anything, they would applaud it because that's exactly what they want. Shipping yourself with a character means you're in love with said character, and being in love with said character increases the chance of you willing to spend on them. That's Hoyoverse end goal
Also I find it so funny how so many people who say this also say things like "respect bisexuals or die", yet they can't stomach the idea of HSR Seele and Bronya being bisexual or pansexual. This is a problem with a lot of fandoms and not just the Honkai fandom, but notice how you can take a character that has only shown opposite-sex attraction and ship them with someone who is of the same sex, and literally no one would bat an eyelash, but if you take a character that has only been interested in people of the same sex and ship them with someone who is of the opposite sex, even your grandma's dog will be getting death threats. Shipping a female character who has only displayed interest towards other women with a male character is considered "lesbophobic", but shipping a character who has never shown attraction towards anyone ISN'T considered "AroAce-phobic" for whatever reason. Hmm I sure wonder why. Surely it can't be because of blatant hypocrisy, right?

Stranger Things Characters Summed Up
Warnings: bit of swearing and mentions of sex. (This has made me want to write smut about Eddie, Billy and Steve… and 001) Overall just me being a whore for fictional characters.
Joyce: She got less unhinged after season 1 which made me sad, but my favourite mum on TV at the moment. Can’t tell if I’m in love with her or want her to adopt me, but either way if she gave me a cuddle I’d start crying. I’m not sure how she created such boring sons tho.
Hopper: No one will ever love me the way this man loves Joyce. He’s my comfort character, and him arguing with the kids is fucking hilarious. “Maybe I will allow you to date my daughter” I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Best Dad™️.
Billy: A tragic villain done perfectly, and I half fall in love whenever he’s on screen until I remember that he’s a racist. I’m a simp but I have morals. (But also, like, the potential this man had to be the loveliest in the world)
Bob: Was the scene of him dead and being eaten really necessary? No. It made for good TV though.
Max: Deserves way better than those boys, and is the ginger icon the 80s needed. I would get in a car with her.
Eleven: My wholesome little murderer. She’s somehow part of an amazing duo (Hopper/El) and a terrible one (Mike/El) so I must blame Mike for this.
Mike: If Stranger Things was a Christmas dinner, he would be the brussel sprouts.
Will: Surprisingly resilient for a guy who looks like a slightly strong wind would take him out. Just let this boy be gay and play D&D in peace.
Dustin: Somehow two steps ahead of everyone and four steps behind them at the same time? I love it, and the show would be shit without him.
Robin: An barely-functioning lesbian with autism? I love to see it and I love her. I’m very gay and she is the perfect example of why. I want to play with her hair while she talks about her hyperfixations.
Lucas: He’s cool when everything is fine, and really annoying during a crisis. I’m pleased that a show set in the 80s hasn’t killed off the black guy four seasons in. Less interesting than his sister, but him and Max are pretty funny.
Nancy: A solid character when you remove her from the Jonathan and Steve situation. She’s very clearly in love with two men, girl take a break from dating and buy a vibrator. She’s very hot with a gun and uses it well, which automatically earns my respect.
Steve: I am so in love with this man, and the fact he uses a baseball bat instead of a gun is beyond sexy to me. Please fuck me. “Yeah it’s me, don’t cream your pants” Sir I am literally on my knees.
Less horny Steve version: Him protecting those kids is definitely my favourite thing about this show. The character growth is impeccable, and I melt whenever he makes the kids go ahead of him when there’s a danger.
Jonathan: Oh yeah, he’s… there? A good brother but that’s kind of it, a very bleh character. I’m still not really over him taking those pics of Nancy and Steve…
001: Very hot while he was murdering the kids. Less hot while he was murdering Max.
Eddie: I want him to rail me while I praise him. And HE DIDN’T RUN AWAY THIS TIME :(

So since no one responded to my post on what to do for New Years (thanks guys), I decided to give a top 6 Nancy Drew controversial thoughts list:
In no particular order here are some of my hot takes. It’s fine if you agree/disagree. Feel free to make your own. Will you change my mind on these takes? Probably not.
1. Liking any character does not equal simping. Social media has some weird language, but it’s concerning that liking something is equated to obsession and liking a character is equal to simping. It’s not.
2. Who cares what relationship Nancy is best for. It’s fun to call out Nancy, I know I do, but at the end of the day. I don’t care. She’s a fictional character meant to solve a mystery, her friends provide some background for the reader, so they become more engrossed in the game. Relationships are messy and a healthy relationship is entirely subjective.
3. The newer games are not bad. I’m not counting MID, although I know it’s liked by many, but from TMB to SEA, the games are not bad. They suffer from a lack of narrative direction yes, but they are not bad games. They’re amazing for puzzle lovers like me.
4. The infamous puzzles are not as awful as we think. We played many of the games when we were younger, and of course got frustrated. I know I hated the chemical puzzle in HAU when I was 12, but as an adult, I love all those puzzles. It’s easy to let our negative feelings influence how we view the puzzles today, but they’re quite fun.
5. George’s personality and interests does not make her a lesbian. Let me explain. It’s fun to ship characters and I know lots of people think George and Ryan would hit it off. I think so too! However, what makes someone gay is simply their attraction to someone of the same gender. That’s it. Labelling George as lesbian because she’s interested in sports and science, has a tomboy personality, basically anything not traditionally feminine feeds into heteronormative constructs of the patriarchy instructing how people should be. It implies that a woman who is interested in traditionally feminine things cannot also be a lesbian (which we know is wholly inaccurate). It also hurts transpeople and non binary people in that they have to “look” their gender (i.e look like a man/woman) or strategically present themselves as “not looking” like any gender in order to be accepted. George’s character is rooted in her time period where post WW1, women were breaking the molds and seeking jobs, education, etc. that were typically reserved for men. That’s why she so contrasts her cousin, Bess who adheres to the traditional model. The Nancy Drew series (at least the yellow hardback ones) was trying to challenge the traditional male dominated detective field, with three types of women: Bess, Nancy, and George to show women that it didn’t matter who they were, they could be a detective and seek adventure.
6. The “boring” games are not bad, you’re just not interested in them. Games like SSH, DED, TOT, SAW, etc. get a bad rep because they’re “boring”, but they’re not, you’re just not captivated by their subject matter, and that’s okay. It’s okay to find something boring, but that doesn’t make it bad. I love SSH because I love learning about history. I love DED, cause i love science, and I love sudoku and nonograms so of course I love SAW. And I don’t like TOT because I think tornadoes are boring to learn about.

I have to gush over Secret Crush on You. I know it gets hate on various platforms and gosh did I have a hard time going through the first episode but then I carried on and I ADORE IT!!!
I understand and appreciate what they want to tell with the story. Was I taken aback by the whole obsessive/stalker Storyline yes and omg Toh's heavy breathing takes me out a lot and knowing that they made his character this way and knowing that he can act and was in Why R U makes it even harder because there are scenes when you know what could have been with his character but I digress.
But yes, Toh is a stalker and the second hand embarrassment makes it hard to watch for me but think about that storyline what you want because it weirdly works for Toh and Nuer (and I am suprised about it as everyone else lol). They deserve each other in their obsession about each other and they are a special kind of freaky and gosh the definition for freaky in their context needs a new level because I can't define it XD
But SCOY feels more like a queer show than a lot of Thai BLs (and let's be honest most of them fall under a subcategory of straight romance) and I enjoy it so much!
This is a show for and about femme gays and it's damn time that they are the ones getting the hot perfect campus stars. They have for too long be the joke in BL's. AND they are getting not only the hot perfect campus stars but those campus stars are IN LOVE WITH THEM! ARE CERTIFIED SIMPS AND I EAT THAT SHIT UP YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!!
The talk about bodyimage and Jao's struggle with it = CHEFS KISS!!!
The talk about sexual preferences and Nuea's confidence in his sexuality and his experience with women and men = CHEFS KISS
Daisy is allowed to be flirty and loud and sexual active = CHEFS KISS! She serves looks! She reminds me of my first queer friend in secondary school one of the loudest, nicest, warmest person with a gossip streak a mile wide who had so much influence on my own journey that I cannot not love Daisy with my whole heart.
I understand that this show isn't for everyone, it sure does have flaws and especially Toh's and Nuea's story is a lot (but again it is so weird how it works for them!) but this show pierced my heart in an unexpected way and I adore it!
Again, it gives me a queer vibe that is so comfortable it makes me warm and happy inside.
And maybe when you talk about stereotypes in BL's and how it's great that they sometimes cast actors that don't fit in that stereotype and you are relieved that that also often unveiles your internalized homophobia about how gays have to be or how you want your fictional gays to look and behave because the complain about Toh, Daisy and Jao being too gay, flamboyant and femme enrages me!
This series also shows how much Saint knows the market and what he needs to do to get this kind of story out and no the international market isn't important to Thai BL productions, it is always about the domestic market and the sponsorships you can gain there. He introduces a lesbian couple and people want more and now he will give it to them with three wlw couples in his new production GAP the series.
And this isn't really about how I want others to watch this show too, people have to decide for their own but that I love this show, I really truly love it.

When I identified as lesbian due to that masterdoc I wish someone would've told me "You're bisexual and it's okay to not date men/have 'high standards' for them. You love imaginary men more than the ones in real life but that doesn't mean you're lesbian. We live in a patriarchal society where 95% of men are trash. So it's normal that you turn to escapism by fantasizing about fictional men."
Even straight women turn to escapism, why do you think the market for romance books is so popular and mostly dominated by them? Do you know how common it is to see posts by straight women saying things like "men in real life: 🤢, men in books: 🥰"?
I think one part in that masterdoc said something along the lines of "You don't follow through with male crushes due to some excuse like having 'high standards'". THIS IS ALSO NORMAL...yeah I have high standards because I don't want to date a manchild that plays video games all day and uses words like "feminazi", "simp", etc 🤷‍♀️

Ya ever just be up at 2 am laying on your bed laptop in lap and just recall that your still debating about if your just a heavy female leaning bisexual or a flat out homoflexible lesbian then you look up shit on google and you find this thing on quora and the person is like “I am attracted to women and their quality of identifying as a woman - as well as personality and other qualities. I am attracted to men but not their quality of identifying as a man.“ and that...sounds sorta like you? Because whenever you simp for men it’s because their personalities are really nice but your not particularly attracted to them for looks and hell most of the male characters you simp for are actually seemingly at least genderqueer or you headcanon them as such and in general your not attracted to them because of their quality of being a guy but with women you can simp for them for looks alone really easily even if their personalities are possibly shit or their like evil or something and your genuinely attracted to them for just being pretty ladies like and you just don’t fucking knowing anymore because you’ve identified as bisexual for 3 or so years now and your like “how is this possible i was so sure i was bi before why am i suddenly questioning” and its because you almost never simp for any dudes both fictional and irl but the amount of women you simp for continues to rise by the fucking day and your just a chaotic fucking mess like-
