first of all got to say when i saw the updated chapter my heart jumped out of my chest. i was initially going to wait and read it in the comfort of my home but i couldn’t wait and was impatient, thus leading me to reading the new chapter on my lunch break and BOY did you deliver!!

"But?" He urged. "But Autumn feels like..." Y/N dared not finish. "Like home?" Cassian offered gently. She shook her head. "The Mortal Lands are my home, Cassian."

i love how cassian knew that the readers home is in the autumn court, i mean she also truly does know that deep down, but, i feel like her denying that keeps her ignorant of her true feelings of not only eris, but, that she has a home for herself & is welcomed.

A small growl came from the floor. Y/N looked down to see Ronan giving another warning growl to Helion as he stood between him and Y/N. She couldn't help but giggle at her tiny and brave fox. "Ronan, relax." The fox turned to look up at her and stopped growling immediately. "Go to Eris," she commanded him softly. The fox whimpered as he hesitated, before eventually trotting over to Eris on the other side of the room. He plopped his butt down at the High Lord's feet, but protectively watched her, prepared to come to her defense if she should need him.

this is such a tiny part of the chapter but i really love the small interactions with ronan and all her other little autumn-court animals. honestly will bow down to ronan, he is such a king!! red foxes don’t get as much love when they really should!! i just love how protective ronan is of her hehe just following in his father’s footsteps.

ALSO! i really love seeing other characters such as the interaction with helion happen! it makes the world-building more interesting and i appreciate the focus on the different types of relationships that the reader has EVEN though i love reading the romance between eris and her!

He only moved closer. "Those of us whom still have our wits about us know your game. You have bewitched Eris Vanserra, convinced him to kill his own father. And you will kill him next. I have known witches in my time, and good they are not. Your kind is only capable of evil. And I will not stand by and watch Autumn fall into your clutches."

why do i feel like this isn’t over?? mans said “those of us” so surely more idiots are going to come out of their caves and wreck havoc right?!? i mean i wouldn’t want this to happen but trauma am i right 🤪

"I am what is best for Autumn Court," Eris growled as his grip tightened around Muiris' throat. "And she is what is best for me."

Without thinking, Y/N pulled the collar of his red, velvet tunic from the event that he had yet to take off. Even his armor was still in place.

i love how there is no hesitation to make sure that eris is alright!! man i love slow burn romance so much!!

"Do you need help taking this off?" Y/N asked Eris, gesturing to his armor. He brushed off the offer almost immediately, "I can manage." But Y/N ignored him, stepping toward him and beginning to unbuckle the heavy metal on his torso. "Relax," Y/N whispered into his ears as she stood behind him, noting how tense his shoulders were as she helped him.

There were scars across his skin, and Y/N wondered how many of them were from battle and how many of them were by the hand of his abusive father. Without realizing it, Y/N's fingers began tracing some of them. "They healed long ago," he explained softly, as if trying to comfort her.
