Okay okay, crazy stuff... My cowriter and I were toying with the idea of changing Dimitri's name. We were like 14 when we created him and his name is the only thing that stayed the same over the 10 years.

We no longer think the name suits him. As we developed him and his family life, we realized "Dimitri" was a name is parents would never give him.

Some suggestions we entertained were, Thomas (maybe Tom or Tommy), Wilson (Wils, or just Will), Anthony (Tony maybe) or Jesse.

We wanted something more traditional sounding with the potential for nicknames/name puns.

It's a big change and we're on the fence about it. it would be weird to change it this late in the game but it's not like I started drawing the comics yet!

Would love to hear any suggestions you have or your thoughts on this change!

Audio Drama Recommendations, Pt. II

For part one, click here. I went on another audio drama binge and I found some that were pretty fun to listen to. I usually tend to go after the ones that are completed because the longer the wait, the more likely I will forget the details, but this time I just went for anything that caught my attention. This also isn’t in any particular order.

The Magnus Archives – is a horror fiction anthology podcast written by Jonathan Sims, directed by Alexander J. Newall, and distributed by Rusty Quill.

The new Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute, Jonathan Sims, attempts to bring a seemingly neglected collection of people’s testimonials of their encounters with the supernatural up to date, converting them to audio and supplementing them with follow-up work from his small but dedicated team. [COMPLETED]

It has five seasons, each 40 episodes long, as well as additional content such as Q&As, non-canon fan-submitted statements and one-off episodes that tie in with Rusty Quill's other podcasts.

It does start out slow and maybe at some point you’ll be wondering where is this going and what does some of these episodes have to do with the overall story, but it does all eventually connect. Your patience will pay off because once the build-up is done it picks up and things get really interesting!

Unwell – is a horror podcast starring Clarisa Cherie Rios and produced by Hartlife NFP.

The story follows Lillian Harper who has returned home to Mt. Absalom, Ohio to care for her estranged mother Dorothy after an injury. Living in the town's boarding house which has been run by her family for generations, she discovers conspiracies, ghosts, and a new family in the house's strange assortment of residents. [ONGOING]

This audio drama has five seasons which runs for 12 episodes. It currently has 54 episodes in total and each one is about 20-30 minutes long. New episodes are released fortnightly (biweekly) on Wednesdays. They take a mid-season break between episodes 6 and 7.

Bridgewater – is a supernatural thriller audio drama produced by Grim & Mild and by iHeartRadio, created by Aaron Mahnke and written/directed by Lauren Shippen.

Folklore professor Jeremy Bradshaw is pulled into the mysterious 1980 disappearance of his police officer father, Thomas, by new evidence that threatens to upend decades of certainty. It stars Misha Collins (Supernatural), Melissa Ponzio (Teen Wolf), Nathan Fillion (Firefly, The Rookie), Karan Soni (Deadpool), Kristin Bauer (True Blood), Hilarie Burton Morgan (The Walking Dead, One Tree Hill), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Jonathan Joss (The Magnificent Seven, Parks and Rec) and Lori Alan (Spongebob Squarepants, Family Guy).

The Lovecraft Investigations -- is a mystery thriller/horror fiction podcast written and directed by Julian Simpson, based on several works of H.P. Lovecraft. It’s produced by Sweet Talk Productions for BBC Radio 4. It concluded with three seasons and each episode is about 25-30 minutes long. There might be a fourth season in the works, but even if there isn’t the series is considered to be finished.

The first season starts off with an investigation into the disappearance of a young man, Charles Dexter Ward from a locked room in an asylum. [COMPLETED]

Every day Midnight Burger appears somewhere new in the cosmos along with its staff: a galactic drifter, a rogue theoretical physicist, a sentient old-timey radio, and some guy named Caspar.

No one knows who built Midnight Burger or how it works, but when it appears there's always someone around who could really use a cup of coffee. Come by any time, we open at six. [ONGOING]

It is set on board the U.S.S. Hephaestus space station orbiting the star Wolf 359 on a deep space survey mission. THE AUDIO IS quite distorted at first but then clears out to the point where you can hear distinct voices yelling at one another as well as faint sounds of laughter in the background.

As Ayato shuffles with his phone, he quickly sets his phone up, leaning on the wall in order to properly catch what was occurring. After seeing it balance on the wall he turns back to the problem at hand.

“I REFUSE to kiss this ginger! I have standards!” Y/N declares.

From the camera’s recording, on the left was Ayato’s back and on the right was Yoimiya holding back laughter at her friends despair which so happened to be displayed to the camera between the gap of the two.

“C’mon Y/N~ it’s a dare! Besides Childe won’t mind, right Childe?” Ayato teased, looking towards the man next to the girl having a crisis on whether or not to listen to the dare.

“I’m not confirming nor denying that information,” he chuckled.

“What do you MEAN you’re not going to confirm nor deny that information?!” Y/N exclaimed, grabbing Childe by his collar to look at her in the eyes and shaking him back and forth.

“He means he wouldn’t mind making out with you,” Yoimiya whisper yelled through her hands in the direction of the two with a giggle.

Y/N then turns to the blond in shock, “Hold on! Making out and kissing are two different things! I’m not making out with this,” she turns to Childe and pauses, “Twink.”

“Twink?! Excuse you?!” he yelled horrified, face turning pink not only because of the close proximity between his crush and him, but because of the whirlwind of emotions he felt when being called a twink - causing Yoimiya to fall over with laughter while taking photos of the current scene revealing a stunned Ayaka and Thoma next to Y/N.

“You’re excused bitch!” Y/N turned back to face Childe, creating and intense stare-off between the two.

“Y’know, I don’t think Y/N doesn’t need to kiss Childe if she doesn’t want to; we can all just get a free pass,” Ayaka begins, immediately getting cut off by a loud string of gasps and yells as she looks towards her right she covers her mouth in shock trying to prevent any noise from escaping.

The kiss was gentle yet exhilarating - with watchful eyes around them, their loud cheering just became faint background noise in the distance.

Y/N’s eyes with squeezed shut, but soon relaxed as she slipped her hand into his.

Childe’s breath was swept away and gone in an instant. He had been so sure she would’ve followed through with Ayaka’s words but as it turned out she planned to go against her words the moment she spoke them. Well, not like he was complaining any ways.

Ayato hurriedly snatches his phone back up into his hands and points the camera towards the now kissing friends.

Moving 180°, Ayato pans the already landscape view so the whole room and all the participants is now in the frame - him included - pointing to the two opposite of him saying, “That was me. I’m the one who gave her that dare. You’re welcome.”

Immediately pulling away from Childe, Y/N turns her attention towards the blue haired man and yells, “Are you fucking filming us right now?! Give that shit to me right now you little fucking orphan-“

Midnight adventure

Nico woke up alone. 

Which was, in and of itself, not unusual. But tonight was different 

Because tonight, he hadn't fallen asleep alone. 

When he'd fallen asleep, it'd been to Will's warmth and whispered reassurances that he'd never leave. 

His first instinct was monsters. 

But no, there was no blood and he was unharmed.  

He sniffed the air 

And was met with a sickenly sweet smell 

Chlorophom 

Which mean someone had drugged Will (maybe even Nico himself, and kidnapped him (Will, not Nico) 

Nico jumped off the bed and, grabbing his sword and jacket, headed outside. 

It was cold 

And damp 

But there was moonlight 

And a very clear drag trail leading from his cabin to the forest. 

He grinned, a wolflike grin as he tightened his grip on his sword 

He was hunting 

And Wills kidnappers were his prey

Will tried to flick on his glowing ability and was immediately kicked in the head. 

Not that that particular bruise would stand out among the dozens fo others she was sure he was obtaining as two Roman demigods, a girl and a boy, dragged him along. 

"I don't understand" the girl whined "why can't we just kill him now?"  The boy kicked her in the shins. 

At least he wasn't the only one.  "Be quiet!"  So, no answers.

Nico was close. He knew it. 

He'd seen the brief flash of light in the forest; Will had obviously tried to signal for help. 

He hurried after them, quiet as possible. 

Sproing 

Fuck. 

He'd stepped right into a net trap.   He let out a string of curses under his breath. His sword arm was trapped under him and his was basically upside down in the net. He was too tired to attempt shadow-travel. 

And every second he spent trapped, Wil was carried further away.

Will came to tied to a tree. 

He'd fainted from pain and exhaustion a while back, and while he'd been unconscious, they'd either arrived at where they wanted to go or had just stopped for the night. 

The girl glanced over at him.  "'e's awake!"  A guy walked into the clearing, the firelight illuminating his scarred face as he smiled. 

Will felt a sense of dread.   "Search him" 

The girl and the other boy approached him. 

Roughly the turned out his pockets and searched his flannel for anything. 

The girl felt around his (still clothed) chest and grinned when she felt the necklaces.  She pulled them up out of his shirt and surveyed them. 

There was the camp bead necklace, which she glanced at once and dropped it, turning her attention to the other one. 

See, Will had a penchant for charms, and his charm necklace was almost as full as his camp one. 

She flicked through the charms until she stopped. 

Oh, shit 

It was the two little pride charms he'd got when he'd found out that he was bi. One little rainbow and a bi flag. 

"Hey, Thomas! Check this out!" 

The two boys stopped. The one by the fireplace, obviously Thomas, walked over and surveyed the two charms. 

"Well, well, well, would you look at that. Not only is he graceus scum, he's a fag too!" 

Thomas slapped him across the face.  "Beat him up. I loathe fags, and here is some practice for you two in beating up skills."   

Will felt blow after blow until his entire body was in pain, he curled up into a ball, protecting his face as they rained kicks and punches on him and then... stopped. 

He looked up.   

Nico was in front of him, sword drawn, probably glaring them down. 

He smiled.  

Thomas spat. 

"The camp traitor! What a find. You care for this one? Pathetic. Kyle, Dylan, let's go." 

The girl, Kyle, make a small sound of indignance 

Thomas whirled around  "Oh, by all means, if you want to fight him, go ahead. I don't care. Dylan. Let's go" 

The three trooped out of the clearing, Kyle flipping them off as she passed them. 

Nico didn't move until they'd disappeared, then whirled around, crouching, all worry and care now. 

"Will? Are you okay? What am I say, of course you're not okay. Let's get you home. Do you need to go to the infirmary?"  "No, 'm fine. Le's jus' ge' back to your cabin, please. I need sleep"  Nico threw Wills arm around his shoulder and helped him up.  "Sorry I couldn't be here earlier."  "'s okay, at leas' you got there at all" 

They managed to get back to camp and back to Cabin 13, where they collapsed back onto the bed, Nico big spooning Will as they drifted to sleep

The next day Will woke to find most of his bruises gone, due to his fast healing ability. The only visible reminder was a small cut on the side of his head, obviously from one of the rocks. 

Neither Nico or Will spoke of the late-night adventure again.

He is shocked, first of all he just vented, second of all he slept on somone with their consent, and third of all ??? He feels better now?? Yep s/o is definitly a wizard, yep no way it could possibly help, he just did some magic

I- Im not sure He ever expirienced somone just being nice, just being nice, without some plan to gain anything from it, without hint of manipulation or plan to use him

He wanted to kill him but He Thomas acually felt guilt, he didnt seem to deserve it. He helped his friends even when he himself was in danger.

Thomas broke when s/o started talking. Again Thomas is mute he wont magicly start speaking like eminem RapGod song
