There /has/ to be a better way to measure snakes than lining them up to a ruler and hoping for the best???
Believe it or not, that's honestly the easiest way to accomplish it. A lot of other folks who work with wild animals will sedate them for that sort of thing, but you can't do that with snakes because snakes are hard to sedate and bad reactions to anaesthesia aren't uncommon.
I know you might be wondering, how do we do this with venomous snakes? The answer is...you kinda just sit the ruler down, nudge them near it, and estimate.
So... i found these li'l guys at my country house but idk what species they are. I think they may be rat snakes but i'm not sure
Already freed them both, love them <3
Oh how pretty!
If you don't mind, what state or geographic region are you in? Doesn't need to be terribly specific, just enough to help give me a better idea of what species of snakes they're likely to be!
Like Highbottom said… mystery’s drive people crazy like that’s THE WHOLE DEAL. She haunts Snow because he doesn’t know WHAT happened exactly
Sitting there and telling people they’re stupid for believing either she’s alive or dead ??? Wack move. It’s literally not confirmed for either and I really doubt it ever will be as its supposed to haunt us as well.
On the rat snake in predicaments fb group there are a lot of chicken owners who love their local rat snakes and give them names. These are two separate special snakes trying to eat not-eggs!
Oh goodness look at them! The absolute sillies!
(And just in case anyone's worried - these snakes are 100% fine, they're just dumb and these things just smelled like eggs. They'll be able to spit this stuff out and go about their day with no problems, and hopefully be given an actual egg for the trouble!)
WHO was going to tell me that the Ballad of Lucy Gray Baird is set to the tune of Streets of Laredo/The Unfortunate Rake??!?!!? And it’s WRITTEN LIKE THAT IN THE BOOK?!?!???!
Like the fact that it’s supposed to be her lamenting her own impending death?? And she chose the most famous folk song about someone lamenting their impending death??? Hello?!??
