This was my consecutive fifth trip to Brown county state park in Indiana and I still hadn't captured something to my satisfaction yet. As an art Photographer just capturing the beautiful place is another always sufficient for your inner artist and originality becomes a necessity at times. . . After spending the entire morning in densely populated decidual maple trees I then moved towards the pine Forest by the lake. I had already given up on the hopes of getting a rather softer light, as I could see the sky we're absolutely lack of clouds. It was just past the noon. Lazy afternoon light was spreading all over the forest through the tall trees and the shadows we're starting to grow at a rapid pace as the afternoon grew on everything. The long shadows, blue sky popping through the high green pine canopy rather helped me forget about the autumn colors and photography that had completely overwhelmed me so far. Small trees with color in the evergreen land were rather looked more attractive now. My mind went to the basics and I could see lines. I could see contrast. I could see shapes. I could see contrast of shapes and colors together. I could see up than down or front. Next three and half hours I spent looking up (which eventually caused me bad backache for almost 9 months ) . One small maple tree with golden leaves seemed to have just one of it's branch that was almost fully red. This is my favorite rock formation from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. I have photographed this on a rising tide at the dusk time. there was some cloud on the western horizon, however, it was such a placid day that they remained right where they were and resulting in rather not a fiery, non-vibrant sunset. I have used a long exposure photography technique while shooting this image, I put my 3 stop ND filter and a circular Polarizer on top of it. This allowed me to slow down the shutter speed and photograph the soft motion blur over the short waves that surface on the shore. Although this is not a fiery sunset, I still love the gentle throw of the pink and blue in the sky, a bit of a peach to golden reflecting from rocks. and above that the lovely aqua color reflecting from the waves. We had a very rough day when we hiked from the last camp before Gomukh which is where the mighty Ganges begins. Once we reached to the east end of the Gangotri glacier we faced a treacherous traverse across the glacier with innumerable cracks and crevasses. Many a times we would hug some boulder atop a knife edge of the crevasse to reach on the other side. Four and half kilometers and then we reached where the steep ascent began. It was almost 40 to 60 degrees up at times. So many times I remember slipping despite strong gripped montrail mountaineering shoes I wore. At about 3 pm we reached a glaciel creek where the water was at it's very high due to the warm day temperature. With the help of the porters we crossed this. Losing balance there would have been fatal as the slope was too much to settle anywhere. About 4:30 pm when I reached here, I was breathless seeing this 360 degrees view of the mountains. On one side were the mighty Massif of the bhagirathi peaks, with grand glacier carved gorge below with ice and moraines. On other were the Gangotri peaks bordering Himachal Pradesh. And right in front of me, was the 7500 feet rising above this 14000 ft medaow of the Tapovan, mount Shivling. I just cannot describe in words how beautiful this all looked, how much exalted I was. This is a beautiful reflection of this mountain on a frigid morning the next day we reached. It was so calm, that I could feel and enjoy the movement of light from the top towards the slopes below this mountain. It was 4:30 in the morning, I was at the jetty on the middle Andaman coast. There was just one white light above a closed gate . I saw a small roofed station house near the center of the jetty. There was dark mud, with crabholes till my eyes could see. Clearly the seafloor was shallow here and tide was low...very low. . Uninterested, I looked at my guide. He said, no problem sir, there is one more beach we can visit. I was doubtful of finding anything Worth. . When we reached here, the floor seemed to have infinite potholes filled with remnant water from the prior tide. The dawn was about to begin and though I did not have many hopes, I decided to walk through the potholes I asked my guide to keep 20 feet distance behind me, so that, inadvertently he should not be stepping on my composition. 20 minutes I walked almost one and half km inside the sea. I still hadn't reached seawaves. They seemed to run farther like a mirage as I approached. At one point I reached one large seawatr pool that had formed a shallow yet tranquil lake on the ocean floor. I asked my guide to stop and examined the edges of the lake carefully. I gently stepped in it. It was filled with countless brown sea cuxumbers. I had started studying the place now. . On the left was a small hill and on the right was another. The cloud that was thick, now had broken and the warm colors seemed to appear on the clouds. Orange red light seemed to arrive above the distant see through the clouds. The water was still pretty calm making me think of a reflection. If you are a landscape photographer and have traveled to a wonderful location then beautiful light plays music in your heart. This was one such day when the afternoon brought beautiful melody of light and shadows created by the clouds. This lake with picturesque pine trees on the shore of the lake, and the lake making delicate turns at the edges had completely triggered the creative side in me. After trying many compositions as the light started to become warm and golden, i moved upwards, as my friend Swapnil was busy making traverse of the ridge on the other side of the lake. The peak was bathing in the alpenglow just before the sunset and clouds seems to glow with orange red and approaching the mountain top. This month has been very tough on me and my family. There are such moments in our life that remind us how blessed we are and then appreciate little things while dreaming big. . This is a photograph I have taken in the western ghats region of Maharashtra of India. This is a small check dam and the overflow looks so beautiful. After the day long drive and meeting with our guide, my friend Preetam asked me to take seat at back and rest. After first few minutes I was completely consumed by sleep. Suddenly l woke up only to get awestruck by what I could or could not see outside the car window. Dark road cutting through the bright land on any direction I could see. . . Great runn of Kutch is an eden at the edge of India. My attempt on day 1, to take a picture here was a complete failure. First of all, I was so skeptical, how far I could walk safely on this land made of salt. It constantly made the crackle sound, had these shallow ponds and is fragile so many places, that we had to pull our fee out from it. . On day 2, we reached well ahead of the sunset. However border petrol stopped us from venturing ahead.After discussing our intent with them to photograph landscapes of India and showing some of the pictures from my Unseen India album satisfied them. With no other soul in sight, we walked as far as we could go manuevering through the shallow pools. We breathed a dry salty air. Its a place I felt nothing compared to the vast universe I am in. . . After stopping where the water had gotten deeper and salt much soggier, we stopped. With sun so low, and water reflecting from the salt there was no presence of any horizon. This place was breathtakingly single dimensional One mystical island was the only element that where we kept looking at again and again. . .
