it was a dream project; to work for a genius director with an electrifying script. genius, naturally, came with some eccentricities. certain rules had been established for the film project; the director was a great believer in method acting. for one, the casting had been kept a secret. secondly, the actors were to be dressed in their period attire at all times. thirdly, the cast was to refer to each other by the names of the characters they embodied, and talk of the modern world, of their lives, was to be forbidden. they existed as their characters. he could not help but wander about the movie lot. it was not explicitly forbidden, though it did not mean that he had not necessarily broken some rule that existed only in the director’s head. but he is a man of curiousity - so he is a man characterized by thoughtful, character driven projects. he will never be hollywood’s heartthrob (he’d joked in an interview he wasn’t handsome enough). he was lost in the set design when his eyes land upon her, not having realized he wasn’t alone in his careful analysis. he speaks, as if knowing somehow: “you must be anne boleyn.”
