TEN FOR TEN FOR TEN
Rules: answer 10 questions, write 10 questions for people, tag 10 people
Thanks for the tag @iwouldservehim 🌻
1. Did you ever own a journal (and how seriously did you take it)?
I did and I still keep one around for book ideas, collages and shitty poetry. I don't think I've ever taken either writing a journal or a diary (I am not 100% sure what the difference between the two is tbh and I am not going to ask) very seriously, but I enjoy doing it anyway.
2. What were you afraid of as a kid? Did you get over that phobia growing up and how?
Being confined in tight places and knowing that there is no exit (tight paces that I know I can get out of didn't really bother me though). I never quite got over that fear, but I learned to manage my reaction to be less extreme and to calm myself down, usually by making lists or doing breathing exercises.
3. What would you say was the bravest and/or wildest thing you’ve ever done just cause you had the guts to in the moment?
I am frankly a pretty boring person, so don't think I ever did anything all that wild and/or brave. I suppose there was this one time at some festival event when a pretty intoxicated girl stumbled into me and I half- carried her to the hospital because she would probably end up passing out right there otherwise. I don't think that counts as something brave, but it was an experience way out of my comfort zone, because as much as I like to help I also tend to try and not interfere with strangers' lives. (I also checked up on her a few days later to see if she was okay and we kept in touch for a short while afterwards.)
4. Is there a food you used to love that was fucked up so much that one time you don’t even stand to look at it anymore?
There was a time when I couldn't stomach mushroom soup at all because I was really sick after eating it once, but I got over it and I have no problems eating it now.
5. What is the thing you would HATE most in a partner?
Not talking openly about their problems or if anything is bothering them in a relationship and not asking for help when they know they need it. Also being unresponsive/ignoring me for a longer period without telling me beforehand that they will be gone or that they need space. So I suppose that would all be condensed under "a lack of healthy communication".
6. What is your fictional character TYPE? Like, c’mon, there are always recurring traits in the characters we love. Put them together and what kind of personality do you get?
Usually, a quirky side character that is completely feral/just plain weird and that people often underestimate, but then they turn out to be ridiculously overpowered or useful in a way that no one would've expected of them. Also, any character that doesn't have completely clear loyalties and motivations/doesn't take sides, it's kind of enigmatic and potentially slightly overdramatic (and a strong aesthetic is also always appreciated).
7. What do you think missed most from your life during a lockdown?
Seeing my friends irl. We still communicate regularly, but I am a very tactile person so I am long overdue for some quality hugs and leaning on someone's shoulder non-metaphorically. Also I want to continue our game od D&D goddammit.
8. Who is the person you trust the LEAST in your life?
Oof. Basically, once you lose my trust, it is very hard to gain it back, so there are quite a few people that I don't trust at all anymore. But for the sake of the question, maybe my high-school roommate. She knows what she did.
9. What attracts you most to a story (book/show)?
Well rounded, diverse characters that have satisfying development, the way the setting is introduced (and world-building in general). I also really appreciate good dialogues. Especially in shows I also really like it if the costumography is good/aesthetically pleasing.
10. If you were to write a fantasy book and include yourself as a character, what type of fantasy character do you think you’d be? Would you fit in?
I would probably write myself as an older possibly a witch person living in the middle of the woods or in a lighthouse, whose main shtick is giving out very cryptic and often unwarranted advice and generally keeping to themself, but they stull offer help whenever it's needed. I'd also write myself an animal sidekick because why not. And a sword. Or a very cool dagger at least.
My questions:
1. What was the last piece of media that made you cry? Why (optional)?
2. Do spoilers actually bother you or not? Do you ever seek them out deliberately?
3. If you were to describe yourself using a colour palette, which colours would you use?
4. If you were a fictional character, which songs would you want people to associate you with and which headcanons about you would the audiences probably make, based on your life so far?
5. If you were to design a card or a tarot deck, what pattern or motif would you put on the back of the cards? Would there be anything special about the deck? What would be your inspiration for the motifs?
6. Are there any songs that you can't listen to anymore because they remind you of someone or something too much? Would you still choose to associate the song with them if you had the chance not to?
7. Do you have any piercings? If no, are you planning on getting any? If yes, are you planning on getting more?
8. Which/what kind of noises do you find the most soothing? Which/what kind of noises annoy you the most?
9. Do you like reading poetry? If yes, what kind? If no, why not? (Optionally, add a poem recommendation)
10. Which fictional characters would you say influenced your personal development the most, if any?
