                           nik and elijah were gone (and at peace, she hoped), kol was happy with davina, freya and keelin were better than ever, hope was thriving at school, and as for her: the cure was ready and waiting for her and she was to be married. a thousand years of terror in the name of family had finally come to an end. 

preparations for the wedding were in full swing. invitations had gone out; the caterers selected; flowers chosen; she even had her dress, but there were just a few things missing. which brought her to the reason for her visit.

The door to her home is ajar and all the lights are off in her home except one. She doubts it’s a burglar for that very reason. More like a very unwelcomed house guest. Her steps are about as light as they can be but if they’re vampire or werewolf it doesn’t really matter - they would have heard her coming the moment she pulled up into the driveway. 

Her gaze falls on the back of a man she hasn’t seen in quite some time. In fact she’s surprised he is here at all. Madeline expected to be dead by the time he set foot in this town again. The thing about Mikaelsons’ is that you should always expect the unexpected from them. “I see you’ve made yourself at home.”

She’s glad that Caroline is nowhere in sight. Maddy can’t imagine that reunion going over particularly well. Green hues leave him to look around her home, searching, perhaps hoping to see another face with him. “What are you doing here? Where’s Bekah?”

Her tub had been drained of all bloody water but still, Rebekah can't shake how unnerved she had been by it. The fact that Marcel still wasn't talking to her was another thing, "He had gone to see Elijah and stayed too long this time. Flowers were dying and then my bathwater turned into blood" Her eyes close in frustration. She hates this, she hates being separated from them and then dealing with these dangerous acts of magic. "You would think after so long and separating the hollow, it would grow weaker with time not stronger"
