Hopefully your asks aren't clogged, and if they are you can delete this, but I want to let you know that your post abt d p x d c stuff is more likely to make people feel bad about participating in d p x d c than it is to encourage people to make more d p content. It also is kinda rude to people who came from d c to d p.

Why is Bryan Fuller racist? What did he do?

Okay so... (Quite) long story short: He just... He notoriously does not treat his BIPOC, Queer, or women characters well.

Note: This is an important distinction that a lot of people conflate. From what I've read and heard over the last decade, he is great (albeit difficult, but he has STANDARDS for his work and it SHOWS) to work with and treats actors, crew, etc. very well. Many actors & crew actually walk off of projects that he's in charge of when he doesn't come back, like American Gods, because of how much they love his vision for it.

Often when he writes or conceptualizes a character as a woman, BIPOC or Queer, they're treated horribly - and watch out if those identities intersect. They're:

Spoken over and ignored almost constantly

Regularly stolen from (i.e. BIPOC character is doing/thinking it before but then a white character does it and the white character get the recognition)

Disturbingly/disgustingly assaulted or murdered

Villainized even when being the hero

Go through unnecessary additional suffering that doesn't relate to the story while also suffering through the actual storyline shit

Wlw scenes are hypersexual and very psychedelic pornesque while mlm doesn't get the same explicit sexualization (if any)

They're not as robustly developed in background & personality (probably to not be too invested when they're unnecessarily and unceremoniously murdered).

The only one of these identities that he sometimes arguably writes well is for the Queer community, but that's pretty much only white, cisgender gay men (given his identity, that's not exactly surprising). All of this doesn't include the near-daily covert aggressions (a new term for microaggression, since micro minimizes the damaging impact that they can have) that he likely thinks and performs, as many of us do, that are rooted in racism.

He's also said some.... Questionable... things over the years with respect to moral expectations set up by this neocolonialist, neopuritanical society we live in. One thing in particular comes to mind, but I don't want to go through that whole thing again since it causes major fractures wherever it pops up, and I ask that anyone reading this who knows what I'm talking about to not make this about it. If you have more information regarding his treatment of BIPOC individuals, feel free and add to this.

I’m not against them at all!!! I support anyone who decides that transitioning was not for them.

there are just far too many detrans people that are bitter and angry about it and blame actively transitioning trans people for their medical transitions &/or their surgical transitions either going wrong or not turning out the way they imagined or saw happen for others in their community.

I don’t want interactions from them because of this.

To further this, this type of hatefulness toward actively transitioning people by detrans people is especially horrific on tiktok, where there are AN UNBELIEVABLE amount of detrans people that believe they were “forced” into transitioning by (previously) fellow trans people.

I’ve experienced in my social media circles that it is often the FtM -> Back To Female detransitioners who get ESPECIALLY angry, & blame trans mascs/trans men for: 1) getting their hopes up for what they’d end up looking like around the 6 year mark of HRT, 2) trans men/mascs [once again somehow] “forcing” or “pressuring” them to begin medical & surgical transition, and (among many other such blaming remarks), 3) these particular FtM detransitioners end up with this vitriolic hatred for ALL trans people from then on.

I know, have spoken with, interacted with, etc., with both men and women who have detransitioned that have been very kind, very accepting, very matter-of-fact in that they simply tried it [medically transitioning] out because that’s what/how they were feeling at the time & at some point in the transition discovered it simply was not for them! and that’s good! that’s great! I’m happy they found that out about themselves!

however, the number of cruel detrans people far outweigh the number of kind detrans people. and, with how this website goes with all the random and truly hateful content and messages you can receive on here, I’ve decided, as a very out and open, medically and surgically transition/ed/ing FtM masc/man/guy, that it’s simply the safest and most comfortable option for myself if we outright state we do not want to interact with detransitioning people.

I’d like to also point out that nowhere on my page nor in any of its content have I ever stated that “I hate detrans people.” that is a statement that you decided on your own.
