Idk I feel if you name your child Willabella Muckwab your kind of asking for that kid to be an evil witch worshiping a dark lord who writes her spell book with children’s blood. Like you kind of set them up there.

There’s a severe lack of Willabella Muckwab content on this website and I won’t stand for it, so here’s a quick drawing.

i have a theory i must share
willabella muckwab seduced one of the hatchetmen and had a daughter, and then down the line pamela foster was born and she had lex and hannah
lex and hannah are descended from the first disciple of the lords in black and someone who sought to destroy any trace of them
lex and hannah have both extremes in their dna
lex and hannah are the black and white

Hmmm, I think the dynamic between Willabella Muckwab and Wiggly needs to be explored a bit. Like, one does not simply become a witch over night. How did she get to that point? Plus, how did Wiggly, without the doll at that point, I mean, I think the dolls were made later. Anyhow, how did influence her? Did he zip on down in human form? How long did he play with her till she was 'ready' to kill kids. Was she the first human they had interaction with? Or just the first Disciple? So much questions, but so much possibility.

My secret Hatchetfield crack theory is that Willabella Muckwab and Webby were lovers. No I will not elaborate (/lie).

OH MY GOD.
I’ve just realised something. Something crazy. Something that, in hindsight, I should’ve seen coming earlier.
So you know this lyric from The Web I Spin For You?
“You have a tendency to stab my back, just like the witches you summon”?
Yeah. Me too. It was strange to me for a long while. Really? Wiggly stabs his witches in the back? He kept Willabella around for a pretty long time, didn’t he?
Until it hit me.
Every full musical timeline so far (well, BF and NPMD, but also presumably TGWDLM) has been one where Miss Holloway is dead. On the other hand, presumably every Nightmare Time timeline (assuming I didn’t miss anything, that is…) had been one where she is alive.
That’s the reason why apocalypses only happen in full musical timelines. Because they knew Holloway would interfere. So, if that’s the case, then why would they attempt to bring Willabella back in a timeline where she’s alive?
Because they knew she wouldn’t succeed. They wanted to get rid of her. She wasn’t of any use to them anymore, so they got rid of her.

Ok ok ok wack theory time, bare with me here-
So, we all know that the Lords in Black are children coded. They act immature, they baby-talk, they use childish nicknames, they throw tantrums, they have their favorite toys, etc etc
Maybe it's just an eldritch god trait that they all share. Maybe it's because they don't function like humans do. Maybe they've just always been Like That. Maybe that's just how they are. But what if... what if they're not? What if they're ACTUAL children? Ever think of that?
And I'm not talking about young eldritch beings new to this world and are just learning how to walk, no. I mean, what if they are actual. Human. Children. Stuck in an eldritch being's body? What if this was like an FNAF sort of situation?
And I'm not saying that they are children that transformed into eldritch gods, I'm saying the eldritch gods ALWAYS existed, but they didn't use to be Like That. They were not Wiggly, Pokey, Tinky, Blinky, and Nibbly. They were only Wiggog Y'Wrath, Pokotho, T'noy Keraxis, Bliklotep, and Nibblenephim. That is, until the souls of five children were merged with these entities.
Gonna go into more detail under the cut
Now, you might be wondering HOW this could have possibly happened then. Well, look no further than Willabella Muckwab herself. The witch in the web. Otherwise known as Wiggly's first devoted disciple.
We know that Willabella had the touch of the Gift. We know that she was the one who wrote the Black Book. We also know that she's batshit insane. That she's hungry for power. We also know that she's killed children before. How? Listen to the song 'Witch in the Web', there's a lyric there that said "Many children she has buried, their memories are mine" which very obviously means she HAS killed a lot of children.
Now circling on the fact that Willabella wrote the Black Book, if Willabella was Wiggly's first devoted disciple, then where the fuck did she learn about the Black and White in the first place? Welllll, this is where we point our fingers to none other than Webby the spider. Why, you ask? Well, what do we know about Webby?
Webby is the one who's been keeping Willabella in a web. Webby can talk to Hannah because Hannah has the touch of the Gift. Webby was the one who taught Hannah the song, the same song that implied Willabella has killed children. That means Webby was the one 'talking' in that song, meaning SHE feels responsible for the death of those children because she said, "Their memories are mine".
For all we know, Webby could have been Willabella's "imaginary friend" too, much like she is for Hannah. Because it makes sense, doesn't it? Willabella could have been just like Hannah, just a weird kid with a weird friend. But unlike Hannah, the promise of power got to Willabella's head. And once Webby stopped being useful to her, she would turn to the book filled with knowledge she gathered from Webby. She would turn to the Lords in Black.
And we know that the LiB wants to take over the world. To cross over from the Black and White and into our reality. What better way to do that than to offer them bodies to possess? Like how the Church of the Stary Children offers Nibbly pig corpses to possess during the Honey festival?
What if Willabella offered them the bodies of children? To ensure that they are young and healthy when they make their way to the land of the living.
But, since she was the first one to attempt it, what if something went wrong with the ritual? What if, in the mistake, the souls of the five children merged with the Lords in Black and transformed them into... what they are now?
What if THAT'S the reason that the LiB are so childish? Because they ARE children. They were merged with souls of innocent children who just wanted to go back home. What if the pain and the sadness and the anger that those children held against Willabella got twisted and corrupted by the darkness of the LiB that it turned into immature loathing towards the entirety of the whole world?
And maybe that's also the reason the LiB can interact with the land of the living but Webby cannot. Where the Lords in Black were given human souls, an anchor to the human world... Webby was not. Webby will forever be stuck in the mind of her chosen, but her brothers were given the power to wreck havoc wherever they want. And no matter how hard she tries, she'll never be able to stop them. No matter how hard she tries to forget, it will always be her fault.

I’m not saying there’s anything to this, but when I was thinking about what Webby’s full name could be, the first thought that jumped into my head was “Willabella”
I don’t think that train of thought goes anywhere, especially considering they’re enemies but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Found Some More Hatchetfield Lore!
I remembered that one of the Lang brothers said that Wiggly is based off of Cthulhu, so I decided to do something digging on a piece of shit author, H.P. Lovecraft and y’all… Okay, I don’t know if it counts as lore, but Hatchetfield is right under our noses.
CW: H.P. Lovecraft’s writing is full of bigotry, and if you plan on reading it, prepare yourself. For example, there is an evil entity named Shub-Niggurath. Yeah.
I don’t like H.P. Lovecraft, nor do I enjoy his writing in general, so here are some things that people should look up if you want to find out Hatchetfield’s inspiration. More thoughts on why I cannot write about him are at the bottom.
Also! I do not look down or dislike people who enjoy H.P. Lovecraft’s writing and his creations, and would really love for people to continue to look into things I cannot. I hope my little notes help!
(I’ve linked the stories in pink!)
SPOILERS: Hatchetfield? I guess? The Cthulhu Mythos & The Dream Cycle.
Cthulhu Mythos:
Just read ‘The Call of Cthulhu’. Everything makes sense.
Miss Holloway is based off of a character named Horvath Blayne from ‘The Black Island, Being the Narrative of Horvath Blayne’.
Duke Keane is also taken from ‘The Black Island’.
The narrator of ‘The Call of Cthulhu’ is named Francis Wayland Thurston.
Professor Hidgens is based off of an art student named Henry who is known for being eccentric and living in solitude. (The Call of Cthulhu)
Emma Perkins is named after a ship called the Emma. The crew got into a battle with Cthulhu’s cult members, which resulted in the Emma having one survivor. (The Call of Cthulhu)
John MacNamara is based off of the police officer John Legrasse. (The Call of Cthulhu)
Willabella Muckwab resembles Lavinia Whateley, from ‘The Dunwich Horror’. She has a son, Wilbur Whateley (Wilbur Cross), whose father is the cosmic entity Yog-Sothoth (Wiggog Y’rath). Lavinia went missing on Halloween, and the assumption is that Wilbur killed her. 👀
The Black Book is the Necremonium.
There’s always professors somewhere.
The Dream Cycle:
LOL. The Dream Cycle is a collection of short stories surrounding dream cities. I honestly haven’t read anything about this other than brief stuff from the Wiki, but the connections are painfully obvious.
The word ‘oblivion’ is written in the Black Book. H.P. Lovecraft has a poem titled Ex Oblivione. The narrator sees a gate in his dreams and wants to get past it, but he can’t access it. He eventually does, though. Yikes. Read this post, picture Willabella Muckwab as the narrator for Ex Oblivione, and enjoy.
Bonus: Some of the covers of the magazine that published H.P. Lovecraft’s work (Weird Tales) are sprinkled throughout Hatchetfield.
Tumblr media
“Pete, get behind me! I’ve got a gun.”
“Steph… it’s a ghost. I don’t think that’s gonna do any good.”
Tumblr media
Rosary? Killer Track, much? Also, the art style for the Black Book kind of resembles this… huh.
-
Note: I had planned to read all of H.P. Lovecraft and the associated work, but the racism is too much for me. I can’t “separate the art from the artists”, especially when everything evil is so obviously and horrendously based on Black people, as well as other races. Again— Shub-Niggurath. Like, seriously?
It’s a huge bummer, because I have so many thoughts— like the implications behind Willabella Muckwab associated with Lavinia Whateley, and Wilbur Cross also being associated with Wilbur Whateley. So much is at our finger tips.
I’m still going to be writing other things, though!
I have more of the Black Book deciphered, so that’s exciting, especially since I actually got some stuff right in my first post. (It was looked at through a more religious lenses rather than an H.P. Lovecraft lenses, though.) BUT STILL. MY EYES HURTING FROM INTENSE SQUINTING SESSIONS WAS NOT FOR NAUGHT! And I know I state some of these things as if they’re facts, but they’re ‘probably based on’ stuff.
Alright. I’m off to read about physics, the concept of nothingness, and the æther in the name of theatre kid.
tldr; the Lang bros made a the TTRPG Call of Cthulhu homebrew and turned it into musicals.

Uhhh... Did Emma Cause "Yellowjacket"?
I really love “Yellowjacket” (Lex’s storyline connects on a genuinely painful level), but it’s always struck me that the Gift seems to be more wide-spread in that story than in any of the others. What if that’s because of Emma? After all, the Nightmare Time 2 timeline is the only one we know of in which Emma starts her pot farm in the Witchwood. (Full theory under the cut 'cause it's a couple of paragraphs)
In “Perky’s Buds,” a lot of Bob Metzger’s monologue makes it sound like the touch of the Gift is something you’re either born with or you’re not. But right at the end he says “when you cut down those trees, you opened the floodgates. Now every teeny-bopper in town is susceptible to this malady.” “Teeny-bopper” is very much slang for a teen, not an infant, and that has to be purposeful. So what if it’s less that you’re born with a touch of the Gift, and more that you’re born with “susceptibility” to it? Hannah and Lex, highly powerful and connected to Willabella Muckwab, were susceptible enough to be Gifted even with the Witchwood at full strength, but maybe kids like Sophia or Daniel weren’t. Perhaps Bob was completely right and Emma did indeed “open the floodgates,” allowing the Gift-causing magic to seep through Hatchetfield like something in the air. And then something else inside of certain kids responded—creating the small legion of (mind-milk-dependent) junior super-heroes we meet in “Yellowjacket.”
Sure, it seems like the roller-rink set-up has been up and running for a bit (Eddie mentions buying Pizza Pete’s a few months before the story starts), but so has Perky’s Buds. It took time to clear all those trees and plant the crop, and we know that Emma was up and fully operational before the summertime Honey Festival, whereas “Yellowjacket” takes place “months later” in October. So maybe while Emma was busy achieving her dreams and then going to jail, Charles, manipulated by Pokotho, arrived in town to find the perfect assortment of test subjects emerging out of nowhere right in front of him. It’s not the most obvious of timelines, but it just might work.
(In another, more out-there extension of this theory, perhaps Emma’s also the reason for the shiny, upscale high-rise that Ethan moves their family into. All those high-rollers regularly visiting town need somewhere to stay, after all. And Charles has the resources to build something fast.)
So, yeah, between Emma cutting down the trees and Ezekiel ensuring that no Metzgers are still around to plant any more Gifted kids (thank God), maybe “Perky’s Buds” directly set the stage for “Yellowjacket." Just something I noticed and thought was cool. And it would totally explain why it’s important that "Perky’s Buds" and "Yellowjacket" take place in the same timeline.
