I don't really watch a lot of olympics, but I was instantly struck with two ideas.

-Alex/Willie figure skaters. They're dancing on ice. They're both on team USA, but they like to compete with each other anyway. Not over who gets the most points, but over who can get the gayest song approved and who has the most sparkly outfit.

-The day they allow same sex ice skating pairs, it is OVER FOR EVERYONE ELSE.

-Carrie the gymnast. Her floor routine is flawless. Her beam work death defying. Her ponytail is the swishiest.

-Flynn is a fencer. Flynn is also that person who posts videos on social media of her jumping on the cardboard beds with Julie and Carrie like: TRUST ME WE CAN BONE ON THESE IF WE WANT TO, INTERNET.

-Luke is also a gymnast because hnnngh arms.

-I have no idea what Julie would do but I just saw Archery on the list and can you imagine. She would be so pretty. And deadly.

-Reggie works at the Olympic Village McDonalds and he knows all of them by name and order but has no idea who does what sport. He flirts with EVERYONE.

-Yes somehow this results in Alex having to convince Julie NOT to William Tell an apple off Reggie's head 'for the vine'. VINE ISN'T EVEN A THING ANYMORE GUYS. PLEASE.

This one is from an untitled one shot I’m working on:

“Hey, it’s not your fault, Reg,” Alex says, extending a pocketed hand to him. “He probably has a good reason to.” Alex looks at Bobby. “Right?”

POV — something that’s already happened, retold from another character’s perspective

This is Alex’s POV in Chapter 6 of King Of Your Heart (pirate au):

“I’m the king of the ocean,” Willie declares. They’ve been treading the waters since the sun was high.

“Oh?” Alex muses. “Arrogant as ever, I see.”

Willie scoffs. “What, don’t believe me? I’m clearly the better swimmer out of the two of us.”

Alex huffs out a quiet laugh. As if he hadn’t just spent the past few minutes showing off all the swimming tricks he knows, feeling a mix of smugness and a nervous flutter in his chest when he’d caught Willie picking his jaw back up from the ocean floor.

“Is that so?” Alex raises his eyebrows, and swiftly moves closer to Willie. He feels the corners of his lips curl up when he notices Willie setting his jaw. He certainly doesn’t miss the way Willie’s throat moves when he swallows.

“Yes, Alexander,” Willie hisses. “Your background in fucking—whatever it is—”

“Competitive swimming—”

“—competitive fucking swimming—has nothing on me. I can handle anything.”

Alex smirks. “Anything?”

“Anyth—”

Willie yelps and splutters as he cops a huge splash in his face. Alex explodes with laughter.

“You- you motherfu-!”

Alex sends another splash into Willie’s face. He’s grinning when Willie spews some colourful choice words at him, but is quickly humbled when his mouth is filled with harsh salty water.

Alex immediately spits it out and gasps for air. “You-!”

“That’s what you get for messing with me!” Willie bites back, clambering back up onto the deck. Alex follows him.

“That’s what I get for messing with the king of the ocean?”

Willie lets out a laugh. “I’m the king of the ocean!” he yells, flinging his hands to the sky. The sun is lower now, painting the sky with the faintest beginnings of pink and orange. Willie’s hair is plastered to his skin, where speckles of water are shimmering in the golden sunlight.

Alex has to admit, of all the masterpieces he’s walked by in the halls of the castle, nothing has captured him quite as much as this. He joins Willie’s side and forces himself to tear his eyes away from him.

“He’s the king of the ocean!” he shouts towards the horizon. He feels alive. He turns back to grin at Willie, and his heart skips a beat when he sees Willie is already looking at him with a matching grin. Willie faces at ocean again and takes a huge breath.

“We’re the goddamn kings of the ocean!” he cries.

A hand suddenly clasps in his own. He looks at the touch in surprise, then back up at Willie. He doesn’t miss the way Willie’s tongue flits over the silver band on his lip, replaced with a gentle bite. Without thinking, he slides his thumb against Willie’s. Alex barely catches Willie’s soft gasp over the fluttering in his chest. He watches Willie slowly release his bottom lip from between his teeth.

“What?” Willie asks.

Embarrassed, Alex huffs softly and shyly looks down at their hands. Subconsciously, he wets his own lips before looking back to Willie’s face.

“Nothing.”

It's a trash can, not a trash cannot, for Willex?

This got Bex versed. Which means it got Willexied. Again because of @narcissusbrokenmirror's request for the same: 10."It's a trash can, not a trash can't" for the bex verse. Thank you both!

“What- Are you three doing?” Alex asks, shoving the groceries onto the counter. He takes in the sight in front of him. There are crafting supplies everywhere. Bex’s hands are covered with glue. It looks like somebody dumped the recycling bin onto the table. There’s a hot glue gun on the other side of Willie and a handful of other tools scattered around that Alex can’t even begin to imagine purposes for.

“Crafting,” Reggie says helpfully.

“Right.”

“Okay, so I was on Pinterest-”

Alex sighs, cutting him off. “Reggie, we’ve talked about this!”

Reggie waves Alex off. “I know, I know! But there were so many cute ideas for things we could make! And it’s reduce, reuse, THEN recycle, right?”

Alex groans as he starts unpacking the groceries. “You know that after they’ve been made into things, they can’t be recycled, right?”

“You know that most things sent to be recycled aren’t, right?” Reggie counters. Bex and Willie eye the pair warily but otherwise keep focused on their task: gluing pieces of cardboard to a painted milk carton.

“What are you even making?”

Bex holds up their creation, “Bird feeder!”

Alex runs a hand through his hair, biting back his frustration. “It’s beautiful, sweetie. Where are you going to put it?” He utters out the last few words through gritted teeth, very intentionally directed at his partners. “We live in an apartment building,” he reminds them with hushed exasperation.

“There are trees in the courtyard, surely someone will let us hang it in one of them,” Willie says without looking up from where they’re trying to secure a stick to the front of the carton.

“Don’t call me Shirley,” Reggie giggles, just under his breath.

Alex glares at him and finishes putting the groceries away. When he’s done, he walks around the island and stands behind Willie, watching them work for a moment. He squeezes Willie’s shoulders.

Willie tips their head back, looking up at Alex. “Welcome home.”

“Thanks,” Alex leans down and gives Willie a kiss.

“Blech,” Reggie and Bex say in tandem, grinning at each other like it’s some inside joke and not a bit they’ve been doing for months.

Alex rolls his eyes. He surveys the empty chairs to confirm one is safe to actually sit in without getting paint or glue or worse on his clothes. He deems the one at the head of the table acceptable and sits down.

“Okay,” Alex sighs. “What else are you making?”

“Well, we have birdfeeders. And toilet paper roll butterflies. Ohhh, and show Daddy the sensory bottles, Bex!” Willie says excitedly.

Bex climbs over the table, causing Alex to hold his breath in a practice of great restraint, and grabs the bottles of shimmery liquid. She crawls them over to Alex, setting them in front of him. She then climbs down into his lap. She reaches for the bottle closest to them and holds it out for Alex.

“Shake it!” Bex tells him.

Alex complies. “Oh, very pretty!”

Bex beams at him and grabs another bottle, shaking it vigorously and watching the glitter swirl around.

“Who knew you could make so many things from garbage?”

“Well, Hotdog,” Willie says, “it’s called a trash can, not a trash can’t.”

“I don’t… I don’t know what that means.”

Reggie laughs from where he’s sitting. “Neither does Willie,” he says at the same time as Willie’s, “Me neither.”

“It’s a meme and you're doing it wrong,” Reggie clarifies. “And also, Pinterest. Pinterest knows you can make so many things from garbage.”

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Oh gosh. i try, for real, y'all. i often put it off because i want to get a good grade in commenting/responding, which is something real you can achieve, and then i end up not doing it at all. but i love each and every one i receive! i'm just so inconsistent about actually replying.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? hmmmmm. excellent question; even if i write angst i tend to veer toward a happy or at least hopeful ending (example: leave the light on)

actually you know what, heart like a wheel is probably the angstiest if you think about it. it's just that the main character doesn't know it, lol.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? oh gosh. i love a happy ending, so pick one. they're mostly all varying degrees of happy, lol

8. Do you get hate on fics? i have been very lucky so far in that i don't get outright hate, no.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? it's not the thrust (heh) of what i write, generally, but i have: for love's sake only and its sequel, to love's self alone, are both in the vein of a paperbook romance and are written as such. i do have a carrie x reggie smutfic in the queue though...

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? i can't say that i have! i might nod to another fandom but full crossovers seem so ambitious to me--two different worlds to track, two styles of story. i love reading them, though!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? if i have i'm not aware of it...

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? i have not!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? @where-you-go are now on our third collab (she, through some sorcery and witchcraft, got me to round robin on a luke x bobby fake dating story one week on here, and we're expanding it to a full fic, hopefully out before the end of the year!) and @daintyduck99 and i have put on that old song, aka the "i can't believe you married a rodeo cowboy" au, also hopefully coming soon! also maybe i'll poke @breakaway71 again about some dialogue i sent her ;)

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? i am a proud multi-shipper and you can't make me choose lololol

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? lol is "all of them" a valid answer? kidding. i have been struggling with getting over the finish line with WIPs this year so.

16. What are your writing strengths? dialogue, def. that's my theatre training/playwright classes coming through. i can always tell when i'm tired because my drafts devolve into dialogue only, haha.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Oh gosh. endings! i can never seem to wrap things up in a snappy way! also lately stakes. like figuring out what the characters have at stake to lose in terms of the story.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? i'll do it sparingly but i generally avoid whole conversations. my grammar in spanish is terrible and that's the only other language i'd feel comfortable writing any dialogue at all in. maybe i'd ask family about tagalog.

19. First fandom you wrote for? oh man. hahahahahahahaha the real answer might be "self-insert o-town fanfic in which my friends and i fell in love with the band members"? but i think it might be gilmore girls. i do want to archive all my ff.net and livejournal (well, the stuff i can find :( ) things so you may see them on an ao3 near you

Favorite fic you've written? oh gosh. i love them all because they're mine! maybe for love's sake only because it really feels like i finished a full novella with that one. or heart like a wheel because i love tertiary character explorations. or want your midnights because it started this whole thing. see, i can't choose. don't make me

20 Which work of yours have you reread the most?

I reread my stories a lot in general so I'm never quite sure which I've read the most but it's probably Call For a Date, (Don’t) Fall in Love, the willex fake boyfriend agency fic. It's one I will deliberately seek out for a pick me up read because I just really love it a lot and it's a lot of fun. With others, it's often more a curiosity thing to revisit them.

And of course I reread a lot while writing but that's different.

28 Favorite work you wrote this year?

I'm cheating and will go with two works for this. The first is I Will Do Bad Things to You because working on it in a rush of inspiration was so much fun and I think I got the characters across even with added challenges. Keeping Alex's core intact even though he's now a British Royal with years of court training wasn't easy but I'm pleased with the result.

Close Enough was also a very unexpected thing to write and was just an ask game "write a scene from your wip from another character's POV" challenge but the positive feedback I got a) made me decide to go 'fuck it' and include at least snippets of other people's POVs in my Alex Adoption Fic even though Alex is the POV character 90% of the time. And I think it makes it a better story. And b) I found some new awesome fandom friends due to posting it so that's just the best thing to happen when posting anything, regardless of the story itself.

Fic Meme

I was tagged by @sophiainspace and thought it looked fun! If, reading this, you think it looks fun too, feel tagged!

Please note that I have been writing fic online since 1998, and I will definitely focus more (but not entirely) on the newer stuff. I'll also try not to mention the same fic more than once - there's more than enough to choose from!

Fic Meme

My favourite of my fics... There are definitely fics that are closer to my heart than others – some fics I keep thinking of and expanding on long after they're done, others I forget about until something reminds me. But I can't possibly choose one favourite. Most of the ones below are in the "close to my heart" category.

My fluffiest fic is probably Tight-Knight, a Once Upon a Time fic about knitting. Lots of Swan-Charming-Jones family feels.

My funniest fic is... You know, I really haven't written much humor. Of the relatively new ones, I think HEAnowbitches unveils Rebecca Silver (Legends of Tomorrow fic) is pretty funny.

My saddest fic is... again, of the relatively new ones, Ray and Rose and That Guy Trevor, a Julie and the Phantoms fic about Julie's parents.

A fic I almost didn't post is Just a Small Step, the first of the Jay/Gil stories. Or more accurately, I was hesitant to even write it, because I didn't know who would read it. It was pretty slow to pick up readers, too, but did prove to have a bit of a following before the end.

The fic I had most fun writing is... hard to choose, but I think I'm going to say Glimpses of a Life In Love, the Fergus/Marsali story, just because I've been shipping these two for a quarter century, and it felt so good to have an onscreen version with a fic-reading fandom. Back when I hung out on Outlander mailing lists, if you so much as breathed about fic you got shut down, instantly.

My favourite ship to write is... ohh, this is difficult. I have too many fandoms! But I did really enjoy writing Willex from Julie and the Phantoms in Stealing Back a Soul, because it allowed me to be sappy and also write a love song.

My favourite femslash ship to write is... I had a lot of fun with All This Dystopia Needs is a Blue Door, a Society fic with Becca/Kelly.

My favourite OT3 to write is... the Havenites are near and dear to my heart (such as in Placing my Child in Your Arms), but the love is tinged with bitterness these days. The Man from UNCLE trio in Paragraph 17 is a more uncomplicated love (at least if I don't consider the actors). And of course there's the Three Men and a Baby polycule in Three Men and a Chance at Love.

My favourite non-romantic pairing to write is... I really enjoyed writing Klaus and Ben from Umbrella Academy in A Minor Complication. Though I appreciate all comments on the fic, obviously, it does make me a little salty when people treat it as if it's just a Klaus fic. Ben may not be the POV character, but he's just as important! They also appear together in Drugs, Death, and a Giant Robot, which is a crossover with Dead Like Me.

My favourite character to write is probably Milah from Once Upon a Time, in Other Duties Just as Sacred, because she was such an interesting and potentially complex character, and was completely squandered by the writers (and maligned by the fandom).

My favourite neurodiversity fic is I would say a tie between Closing the Circle (Real Genius fic) and One Step Forward, Two Steps Back (Descendants fic) because Jordan in the former and Gil in the latter are so different from each other. Jordan talks a mile a minute, while Gil has difficulty finding words and picking up on what other people are saying. It made both of their POVs a writing challenge in different ways.

The fic I remember writing most clearly is... hard to tell, but the Haven fic The Muse of Gym Bleachers and Bathroom Stalls is a strong contender. Writing it felt less like making stuff up and more like putting into words what Duke Crocker and Nathan Wuornos clearly must have been up to in their high school days.

My favourite 'written out of spite' fic is... you know, spite isn't really a factor in most of my fics. But if "these characters need more appreciation from both canon and fandom" counts, then Worth the Distraction is up there, the Shadowhunters/Mortal Instruments fic where I let Lydia Branwell befriend Jessamine Lovelace's ghost. Also Cinematic Healing in the same fandom, where I focus on Maia's friendships with various people, and the BBC Class fic Everything's Better With Cupcakes, which is about April and Tanya.

My most-read fic is A Treasure from the Trash, a Shadowhunters Malec dumpster baby fic (where the dumpster baby is a different one from the book canon, which I only learned about after I'd already started writing).

My least-read fic is Away from the Abyss. Which, yes, few people are going to read "Ran" fic 37 years after the film premiered, and fewer still are going to want to read Kyoami/Tsurumaru, two characters who barely interacted in canon, but I REALLY enjoyed writing it, and sometimes you have to write fic for yourself and the two people who end up leaving kudos/comments. I think the story came out pretty well, and as a bonus I learned a lot of Japanese history, which enriched my viewing of the film as well.

The WIP I most regret not finishing is... I mean, the Uma/Elle fic that's meant to be the third part in the Steps series is still stuck mostly inside my head and I want to get it out. As for stuff that's actually posted, I think Other Duties left off at an OK point, so I guess I'll go for older fare and say Birthdayverse Realities, an Angel AU fic.

My favourite gen fic is... I have so many. SO MANY. But okay, I will say The Big Four-Oh Will Be The Best One Yet, which is a Legends of Tomorrow fic about Nate's birthday, because I like seeing all these characters celebrating together, and it was fun trying to figure out which gifts everyone would give.

My crackiest fic is... *winces* Listen. there are other answers I could give that you might be satisfied with, but I know damned well which my crackiest fic is. It's my very first Yuletide fic from 2003, An Afterlife Afternoon in South Park. I figured that the only way to complete the assignment was to go all in, so that was what I did. I wrote a story in which Kenny's ghost blows Cartman.

And finally... Have a Christmas fic. For all that I've written a lot of Yuletide, I actually haven't done much Christmas-themed stuff, but The Winter Wall definitely qualifies! A gen fic for Michelle Magorian's Back Home.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Falling Toward the Future – The monster college au that I based a lot on my own college experiences.

The next four (actually 6) are all part of the Found Family Fluff Series. Basically my take on things that might have happened after the Orpheum and the most family friendly of everything I've written.

Burn Baby Burn – The sixth fic in the series. Julie and Luke making out in a hammock

A Bigger Table – The second in the FFF series. Ray buys a bigger dining room table so the guys can join them at meal times even though they can’t eat.

Eat the Chips – My very first Julie and the Phantoms fic and the first in this series. Julie and Luke can touch now but for some reason Luke has been avoiding touching her.

Not Today Satan – My first Willex piece and the third in the series. Alex and Willie hanging out in the studio catching up on music from the last 25 years when Julie comes in and they discover some new ghost powers.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, always. Sometimes it’s just a .gif but I always reply with something.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I feel like this should just say what’s your angstiest fic cause like most, I like to end on a happy note, or at least with hope. Even though they both end either happy or hopeful I feel like As Long As We Have Each Other and What if I’m Someone I Don’t Want Around are the most angst filled. Both are pretty depressing.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? They all have a happy ending (technically the smut has the happiest endings) but maybe We’re Having a Baby part 4. Julie and Luke have a baby. (I know you’re shocked from that title)

8. Do you get hate on fics? – Not really. Had a few 'I’m not sure I like what you did there'. But nothing mean. I’m pretty sure I would have a couple years ago based on what I’ve heard.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, not sure what this means by what kind. I’m going to assume it means ships. It’s all been Juke until recently when I did my first peterpatterlina. There're four outtakes from Falling Toward the Future that are Explicit as well as Maybe I Could be Yours (Royalty AU) and a series of fics in the Naughty Files.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I have not done a crossover (only AUs) but I’ve had a couple floating around in my head but not enough to actually write down.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, but I think it’d be fun.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Juke (shocking) But I will actively seek out Rarrie and Peterpatterlina. And I love Willex (Willex Wednesday!) and pretty much all of them to varying degrees.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Never say never. If I’ve written words on something it’s always possible I’ll finish it.

16. What are your writing strengths? This is a hard question to answer because it’s all a matter of opinion and writers are our own worse critics. Maybe dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Sometimes I think I can get too focused on movement. Like making sure the reader knows how everyone is moving as they speak. It’s not always important and I can get bogged down in it sometimes.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Just terms of endearment otherwise I try to avoid it.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Technically it would be Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure even though it never went up on the web in any way. I’ve written The Hardy Boyz (wwe) and Buffy, Willow and Oz. All of them many, MANY years ago.

20. Favorite fic you've written? This is like picking a favorite child. Looking through them all though I am very fond of Happy Birthday Ray which was the first sequel one-shot I wrote to Falling Toward the Future. I gave him my own birthday and published it ON my birthday.

“Is that supposed to be a snowman?” for Willex?

Having grown up in California, Alex was a stranger to snow. He saw it in movies and shows, but never in real life. So when Willie offers to bring him to a snowboarding competition up in Vancouver, Alex jumps at the chance.

Snow it turned out was cold and wet, and Alex wasn't in fact a fan.

Sure, he did enjoy getting to be close to Willie as he taught him to snowboard. He loved getting to skate on a real pond as opposed to a rink for once. But snow in and of itself wasn't Alex's favourite thing.

However, he did love how much Willie loved it. How gorgeous Willie looked as the flakes caught in his eyelashes and melted in his dark hair. How gleeful he was playing in the fresh powder.

However, Alex could watch Willie play from inside the chalet they were staying in, nursing a liquored up hot chocolate next to a roaring fire.

But some things required he go outside, like when he caught Willie attempting some sort of sculpture. He bundled up, trudging up to Willie asking, "Is that supposed to be a snowman?"

Willie looked around the large mass of snow, grinning wide. "Nope!"

"What is it supposed to be then?" Alex questioned, shivering a little as a cold wind blew through his winter coat.

"A snow dick!" Willie cackles.

Alex looked at the misshapen mass and ... yup, that's a penis. With veins and balls and Willie had even made it circumcised. "Do I dare ask why?"

"Other than the joy of a five foot snow penis existing in the world?" Willie questions, and Alex glares a little. "For the meme."

"It's a meme?"

"Well, internet trend. Snow dicks everywhere. I saw one where they built it around a fire hydrant. Some people use coloured snow to make it more realistic. Bummed I forgot my paints," Willie said, slapping another handful of snow to the shaft.

"Won't the chalet staff mind?" Alex asked.

"Caleb owns this place, he pays them not to mind," Willie replied. "Plus they're used to me by now."

"Okay then, I'm gong to go inside before I freeze my actual dick off. You could come too, get some cocoa, maybe have a nap?" Alex offered.

"Just let me finish up the details, get a pic for my Insta, and I'll be right there. Save me some marshmallows?"

"Pssh, you wish," Alex said, then blew him a kiss. Willie pretending to catch it and pocket it, making Alex grin, then he stomped back off to the chalet.

But he totally did sneak a picture of the finished snow dick for the guys before making two mugs of cocoa.

He even made Willie's with marshmallows.

I am late I feel like but Autumn prompts Number 1 with Reggie and anyone.

"IT'S DECORATIVE GOURD SEASON MOTHERFUCKERS!" Reggie shouted, pouncing on Alex' back. Alex, after years of being in Sunset Curve and thus used to Luke and Reggie's shenanigans, automatically caught him. He brought his hands under Reggie's thighs, hoisting him up in a piggy-back. Reggie beamed, hooking his chin over Alex' shoulder and clinging to him like a baby koala.

"It's what?" he asked, the words only now filtering through.

"It's decorative gourd season! I saw my first pumpkin today," Reggie explained. "Your boyfriend taught me that."

"My boyfriend taught you to swear?" Alex said, giving Willie a reproachful look.

"I'm pretty sure he knew the word 'motherfucker' before he met me, Hotdog," Willie said, amused. "It's a meme."

Willie had explained all what a meme was. Alex was still a little vague what the difference between a meme and a regular joke was, but apparently there were a lot of them now. Still, it was fun to make Julie wonder where the hell they'd learned about 'that's so sad Alexa play Despacito'.

Reggie adored the dramatic chipmunk and the word 'yeet'. Luke had taken 'anyway here's wonderwall' and ran with it, trotting it out every time Julie was annoyed with him over something. Alex' favourite was the sarcastic 'sure jan'. He got a lot of use out of that one.

"Also, how is it pumpkin season already? It's September. Isn't pumpkin season supposed to be October?"

"Hate to break it to you, hotdog, but Pumpkin Spice Latte season starts in august. People are like, really into fall these days."

"Wh-why?" Alex asked. This was LA. They didn't get fall. They had summer, and slightly less warm summer.

"Because it's spoopy season!" Reggie crowed. "And it's even better, because now we're ghosts! It's our season, Alex!"He wriggled so much that Alex dropped him on the couch. He did not use the word 'yeet', even if he did think it, maybe. Dammit, Reggie.

"It's like eighty degrees out," he said.

"Soooo, is that a no to going to a pumpkin patch, stealing some pumpkins, and floating them around with the words 'repent, homophobe' on them in the yard of a homophobic congressman?" Willie asked. Reggie turned to Alex, puppy eyes on full display.

"Well, I didn't say that," Alex muttered.

"Yesss!" Reggie cheered.

Major JatP Spoilers (and really long)

I just fucking watched Julie and the Phantoms for the first time finally after just seeing memes/fanfics/posts and the entire soundtrack for it and I'm

I can't believe that show exists like it is so unbelievable how good it is I WILL go into detail rn -

So ofc I can't remember everything that happened, I was busy holding back tears, shouting fuck you at the tv, singing, and quoting fucking everything

and I mean I did happily yell gay when Willex appeared I love them (and when Reggie and Luke did anything I mean cmon) but I DID start up the show again to go through as I write this

the dahlias were a beautiful addition to the sets and I- THE RANDOM LADY gives Julie one when she's crying for her mom in the Orpheum alley??? PLEASE THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL

getting ahead of myself and very out of order ok ok BUT having all the context for the show really gives me a new perspective like

everyone is hurting so much and I could only fully grasp it now after seeing it and I mean 9 episodes did A LOT

everyone has noticed it before but Luke's missing person poster literally behind him as they eat the hot dogs is like?? the set designers were ON TOP OF IT and I love this little detail so much makes me freak every time because the attention to even the SMALLEST detail and it gave us some insight into Luke if we noticed

and do NOT get me started on the fucking ACTING everyone is so good at all of it, like how Madison portrayed Julie being just broken over her mom and Charlie going from loud to insanely soft and quiet as he says "I am… so sorry" and Jeremy being good ol' happy Reggie until the FUCKING "You guys are the only family I have" LINE and the Willex interactions are amazing Owen and Booboo were great together I could go on huyvyibh

THEN THE CALEB FORESHADOW??? AND IT GETS BRIGHTER AS JULIE SINGS WAKE UP????? and it is so fun that some of the episodes just pick up right where the last one left off

And the show outright saying yes, Alex is gay was so mindblowing to me like I don't think I have EVER seen a show do that (but I could be living under a rock) and when the boys tell Julie to give Luke a chance and they watch him as he watches his PARENTS on his BIRTHDAY it was so fucking painful and then THEN Unsaid Emily.

But first, when Julie asks "Who's Emily?" thinking she's someone Luke liked and Luke is so panicked to change the subject he can't even talk about her, how he cut Alex off when he went to explain I gycuvyv

And how they all react to seeing Bobby again and learning he stole all their songs like they are so angry and hurt by this and I understand fully why they want revenge when music is literally EVERYTHING to Luke

but like what it could be like for Bobby? he goes to a therapist still so he might not be over losing his boys still and just him completely taken aback that they're back? he can SEE them and they're playing music with what is basically his niece? how he's shaking after the Orpheum because he has actually seen his boys again after YEARS of them gone? now I understand why they're mad at him but it could have been Bobby's way of coping with losing all of his band and quite possibly the closest friends/family he has ever had

it hurt when they would jump to the boys at the club and then back to Julie alone at the dance, and when they did show up and found her just devastated that they left her hanging hurts SO MUCH worse, like she completely thought they'd show and they didn't and she said it was a MISTAKE god I cant

and now I'm circling back, having the context for Unsaid Emily is both amazingly beautiful and devastatingly soul crushing, all Luke EVER wanted was to connect with people through his music and show his parents that he COULD and CAN make it and PLEASE the music for this show was fucking amazing

and I am foaming at the mouth over Julie giving the Pattersons Unsaid Emily and Luke having to step out but INSTRUMENTAL UNSAID EMILY IN THE BACKGROUND I CAN'T BELIEVE I WAS NOT IN TEARS BAWLING AND SCREAMING

Ok and how the love triangle wasn't forced like Nick knows and STATES that he missed his chance, there was no who does Julie want? nO it was always gonna be Luke (but I respectfully turn my eyes away tho i can appreciate more Juke now)

and the ENTIRE scene when Flynn finds the Sunset Curve shirt and talks about Rose sending the boys to Julie was so good

WILLEX HUG WAS SO PAINFUL AND WONDERFUL like Alex hesitates but then just does and Willie is surprised but then just hugs him tighter in return AND THEN ALEX SAYING HE'S OK???

but I loved Luke saying "Alex, no dancing" and Alex fucking dancing and AND JATP OPENING FOR P!ATD IBIYVBb and the entire scene of them waiting for and getting the call from the Orpheum was gold, just mwah mwah mwAH

AND STAND TALL WITH CONTEXT TOO??? i am so heartbroken and destroyed but utterly ALIVE over Stand Tall and really any of the fuckin songs from the soundtrack but Stand Tall, she thought the boys were gone but then they come back to her and i-

and the GARAGE SCENE PLEASE the boys crying and she literally TELLS THEM TO KEEP EXISTING and THEN "No music is worth making, Julie, if we're not making it with you" I CAN NOT WITH THIS HEARTBREAK NO REGRETS

but oh my GOD THE HUG and REGGIE'S SINGLE TEAR AND THEN LUKE LIKE "I think the band's back" fuck shit god DAMMIT I LIKE THIS TOO REGGIE

And sure, I will say that some characters annoyed me, like Tia Victoria and Carrie i mean i didn't like them but I understand them I guess?

Tia just kinda made me mad since they had to remove the plate from the extra chair for Rose from her and I-

And Carrie was just so mean to Julie it annoyed me mostly but Savannah played her really well like how she reacted when Julie went on the play Finally Free and how she STOOD UP IN AWE at Stand Tall jfebvibf

and yes yes I freaked tf out over the chemistry moment and when Alex danced with Dirty Candy or any of the Ray&Reggie moments or just Ray on screen in general (them distracting him by asking him about his CAMERA?? jhvyughbhu)

But in all, Julie and the Phantoms was such an amazing show. Kenny Ortega and Paul Becker and literally EVERYONE on staff did a wonderful job with this show. It has helped millions of people through different problems and gave joy back to those who might have needed it. JatP was literally gold and I don't think anything will be able to even come CLOSE to matching it for a long time, if not ever. That may be a bold statement, but the show was canceled and we're all still here, hoping and waiting for this beautiful masterpiece to come back.

I hate that JatP was canceled and I'm so utterly destroyed that these boys, Ray, Julie, Carlos, and everyone else might never come back. But what I can say is that I got to watch this little piece of Heaven and I am so glad I did. I ranted and I raved about all the little things I liked in this, and I definitely didn't point out everything I liked, but this post summed it up pretty well I think.

I don't think I will ever feel this strongly for something ever again. After seeing so much content for JatP and finally seeing it after months of wanting to, the hype and how I thought I would see this show lived up to the real thing.

Really, I don't know how to end this and I've gone from fuckin rambling nonsense to writing an essay?? have fun reading this? just get me out bye
