🐑 Alternate Universe- Magic, Mutual Pining, Demonic possession, Furbies
Oh dear...
Alex is attending one of the most prestigious magic academies in the country, on the orders of his parents of course. Even though Laiz Fier Academy reviles even the name of the only type of magic he's ever been good at. His parents swore he'd find another specialty here, and he'd let himself believe them, like the idiot he is. He's scraping by in classes. Barely. At least he's managed to make a couple of friends and figure out how to sneak into the library stacks to find books that will actually help him hone his skills.
However, Alex realizes now there's a reason why it's not recommended to do your first summoning alone. Because, while he does manage to summon a demon, it doesn't exactly end up in the silvery urn he'd laid in the center of the pentagram.
So now he has a talking, demonic Furby to hide. One that, despite its too-wide eyes and disconcertingly smooth voice, Alex thinks he might be developing feelings for.
(Fake fic ask game!)
#legolas tag#legolas ask#julie and the phantoms#willex#so okay in my head#Alex is super good at a specific branch of magic#which usually would be awesome since he was born into a high power magical family#unfortunately the thing he's good at is demonic magic#which is.... unpopular to put it lightly#his parents send him away to school in the hopes that he'll latch onto something else with so many options to explore#that doesn't happen#he meets Luke and Julie (both music magic) and Reggie (animal magic)#and they all become friends#and they all figure out how to sneak into the stacks together#where Alex finds all the hidden away books on demonic magic#cause it's not actually Evil like people think#just... darker in source than most#Alex may fall down a bit of a spiral about his abilities and worth though#and ends up attempting to summon an actual demon to help him learn magic#but... well he must have messed up the binding part of the ceremony?#Cause he does get a demonic magic coach#but said coach (Willie) goes into the Furby Reggie got him as a prank birthday present#and well... Alex knows he should figure out how to undo it and send Willie back to Hell or wherever#but then he has to rush to hide him first before he gets caught#and then they end up chatting a fair amount over the next few days#because Alex is a world class insomniac and Willie just doesn't sleep#but Alex is kept too busy with classes and stuff to go back to the library to find the stuff to sort out the mess he's made#and if Willie knows how to do it he isn't sharing#(he totally knows but it's his first time in the human world in ages and Alex is nice and kinda cute tbh so...)#and...they become friends? And also develop massive crushes on each other?

Hello, five (or more, I wouldn't say no) spontaneous headcanons about a willex boarding school au? 👀 (sfw please)
-When Caleb gets a call that his sister left custody over her son to him, a nephew he never even knew he had, he is like: wtf. When he comes to meet with the social worker and sees the long hair, tie-dye crop top, and earring, he’s like: of course I am taking him in. (There’s a reason he hasn’t talked to his family for decades and he will not have them do the same to Willie as they did to him.)
Except being a full-time parent and running the HGC is not a great combination, especially with Willie’s flair for Chaos. So he makes him a deal: he can go to any boarding school in the country, or even the world, if he promises to behave enough not to get kicked out, and in return he can wreak whatever chaos he wants in the summers (within reason).
-Willie chooses the boarding school because they have a great art program, they’re queer-friendly (Caleb called to check), and it’s in the Woods and he 1) always liked the woods and 2) wants to see Bigfoot.
-Alex’ parents sent him to boarding school after he came out. Alex is not sure he understands their reasoning, given that it is an all-boy’s boarding school and that is like the opposite of ‘straightening him out’, but anything is better than the icy silence at home. Alex’ parents do not know the entire stack of Hot Gay Boarding School Romance Novels under his older sister’s bed that Alex may or may not have borrowed.
-Listen Alex likes his roommate Luke and he’s kind of open to the idea of starting a band with him but also he is SO ENERGETIC and he cannot sit still and he’s always humming and it drives Alex insane.
-So he goes to hide out in the library. Not the fancy new one with amazing computers and a 3D printer and shit, the dusty old one nobody uses because the wifi is shit and it‘s always cold and drafty but it looks great on pamphlets for the Old Money crowd. He bundles up in his hoodie and finds a comfy armchair and just gets to Be Still for a moment.
-Except his peace and quiet is interrupted at a gleeful shout and then a maniac on a skateboard comes into view, sliding his board on the fancy brass railings before landing hard and rolling right into Alex and his comfy armchair, sending both of them toppling backward.
-“Oh man you dinged my board” meetcute etc etc.
-Lots of cute sneaking around in the dark holding hands dates. Willie shows him how to get on the roof and it’s so peaceful and pretty there he loves it. They take up a blanket and watch the stars next time, and share their first kiss there.
-Maybe he sends his sister a postcard like: ‘Boarding school is great, I am learning so much, all this nature is so good for me, etc etc platitudes’ along with an abbreviated title of one of their favourite books with the chapter in which the main characters have their first kiss... on a rooftop.
- “I dunno what HGBSRNCH12 means, Mom, I think he was just trying to clean his pen or something, it’s just a random scribble. You know Alex hates when pens aren’t writing smoothly.”
-Soon they form a little group with Bobby (rich parents who travel a lot and don’t want to take him with them) and Reggie (the scholarship kid). Reggie is upset there are no secret societies at this school. He thought maybe none of them just wanted him, but he could still catch one in the act of secret society-ing. But Bobby (a legacy kid) told him there weren’t any.
-Obvs they start a secret society just for the fun of it. Since they can’t play music late at night without getting caught (then it’s not a Secret Society, Luke, you dumbass), their activities include Sneaking, Stealing Snacks, Trying To Find Bigfoot and/or Mothman in the woods, and picnics on the roof. But while wearing dramatic hoods and holding (fake, battery-powered, Alex does not trust these goofballs with fire) candles and stuff.
send me an au and i’ll give you 5+ headcanons about it

writing willex fanfic at 4 am 👍
“Alex, get UP!” was the first thing that Alex heard the morning everything changed. The second was the sound of a pillow flying through the air and hitting him straight in the head with a thump.
He groaned, rolling off of his makeshift-bed and covering his face with his hands. “What? What could you possibly want at-” he raised his hand to his face to check his watch, “6 in the morning?”
Reggie smiled down at him. “Your little boyfriend followed us on Instagram!” he exclaimed happily, like the statement meant anything at all.
Alex blinked. “I don’t have a boyfriend,” he said, pulling himself off the ground. “So I have zero clue what you happen to be talking about.”
From behind the couch-turned-bed, Luke let out an exasperated sigh. “Willie! Your skater friend, he followed us on Insta!”
“Good for him?” Alex said as he walked toward the small kitchen in the house he and his bandmates rented. “Why is this important enough to wake me up so early on my day off?”
Before anyone could respond, the front door sprung open, Julie on the other side. “Can someone explain to me why Alex’s boyfriend, who is practically famous, followed the band’s Instagram?”
“Oh my God!” yelled Alex, throwing his hands dramatically to his sides. “He is not my boyfriend!” He looked at the disbelieving faces around him. “He’s not. I swear, we’re just fri- wait. Did you say "famous?”
Julie nodded, holding out her phone. It was open to an Instagram account, the follower count nearing the 2 million mark. “He has even more on Tiktok,” she said as Alex peered at the phone, dumbfounded. “Did you not know?”
“I knew he made videos…” Alex trailed off, rethinking all of his conversations with Willie. Not once had the other boy mentioned having any sort of large following. “Did you guys know?”
The other four nodded simultaneously, and Alex glared at them.
“Look, buddy,” Luke started, walking toward him and resting a hand on his shoulder, “it’s not our fault you have the social knowledge of an old man.”

How about tattoos and childhood friends. I like the sound of that one.
How about trying Julie with Flynn and or Carrie or Alex with Luke and or Reggie. (or you can do Willex if you'd prefer - I'll love anything you write)
Oooh, the muse wants to go angsty with this one. And it got surprisingly long so I'm putting it under a cut.
So, Carrie is successful with the Candies, Julie (even more) successful with the phantoms and the two of them manage to stay mostly civil whenever they're forced to interact during awards shows or whatever but everyone knows they don't really get along and that there's beef. The media tries to pry but they're both evasive.
If this isn't a shippy story, Julie is probably married to Luke by this point and she mostly tries to just ignore Carrie's existence and concentrate on her career, her husband and also whatever future plans they may have.
Carrie probably has a string of pretty but meaningless boyfriends, tbh, and I could also see her starting petty beef with the girls in her band so maybe only Kayla is left from the original crew, the other spaces taken over by new candies.
But Carrie is Fine! Everything is Great! She's gorgeous and famous and rich and lives the good life but. ... something is always telling her that she isn't good enough. That she works too hard when other people seem to never have to lift a finger for their success (which isn't true of course but you know).
But she goes to therapy (her Dad insisted) and has a moviestar boyfriend turned fiancé and she doesn't care that the media just found out that Julie is pregnant because she doesn't even want that picket fence life with five kids Julie always talked about.
And then everything starts crumbling. Her moviestar fiancé cheats on her with a costar, her Dad is diagnosed with Something (but potentially fatal) and in the hospital, and she gets into a bad fight with Kayla that has the potential to be the breaking point for their friendship and Carrie spirals out and crashes and drinks too much and she doesn't know what she did wrong! Why was she already so unhappy even when she seemed to have everything she wanted? Why is everything so terrible now?
After a bad night and a morose day, she gets into her car and starts driving and she has no idea how she ends up on the Patterson-Molina doorstep but here she is.
Julie is not happy to see her. She's in the middle of putting groceries away, and waiting for Luke to get home so they can have a nice night out before their nights will be all eaten up by the baby, and the neighbours's gardeners have been going on her nerves all day.
But. Carrie is a mess. And you don't turn away people when they're hurt. Even if they hurt you in the past.
So she invites her in and parks her at the kitchen counter with a glass of water while she continues to pack away the groceries and glances at the clock on the wall, wondering when Luke will be back and how she can get rid of Carrie.
It's awkward as hell for the both of them, Julie is bristling with old grudges and Carrie still doesn't understand what she's doing here but eventually they start talking and then they continue to talk and the more they talk the more it becomes apparent how they both suffered from losing each other as a friend.
Julie is startled when Carrie admits that she never really understood what it meant for Julie with her Mom being sick until now that she might lose Trevor and then apologises for not being there for her more.
Carrie is surprised when Julie admits just how much it hurt to lose Carrie as a friend because Carrie somehow always assumed Julie was just fine and better and more talented anyway so why would she need Carrie (hello inferiority complex masked by a superiority complex).
Julie finds she's starting to forgive Carrie. They were just teenagers after all. They knew nothing. They were trying to figure out themselves and the world.
Carrie realises she really is happy for Julie, for the doting husband and the baby and the band.
The doting husband is, btw, VERY surprised to find his wife's arch nemesis in their kitchen once he comes back, and both of the women laughing about old stories with tears in their eyes.
He ends up ordering food for the girls and sets up a boy's night so they will have more time to talk with each other (but making Julie promise she'll text him 911 if anything happens with Carrie or the baby. Julie rolls her eyes but promises.)
The night grows long, Carrie and Julie ending up outside on the patio, lounging and remembering their childhood and swapping stories of the moments since when they've felt insecure or did mistakes because neither of them is perfect actually. And that's okay.
After a lull in the conversation, Carrie sighs and takes off a wide signature bracelet she always wears and turns her wrist so Julie can see the tattoo there (I'm not entirely sure what it is, a dhalia is more Rose coded so maybe the pattern of Julie's stars and moon necklace or just a letter 'J' or something).
"I've always carried you with me, you know?"
Julie laughs and (awkwardly because pregnant) removes her shoe and sock. She has a little wrapped candy tattoo on her ankle.
"Yeah, me too."
_
It takes time to heal a broken friendship like that. And once the calm mood of the night has given way to the glaring sunlight of day, things return to awkwardness again but they both decide to make a conscious effort to try and heal what was broken with more understanding of who they are and who the other person is.
Their respective bands/families are surprised but try to support it although Luke, Reggie, and Alex all (independently) give Carrie a shovel talk with the gist of "we're watching you and don't hurt our girl again." Flynn is the one that takes the longest to be won over and she continues to be grumblingly hostile but even she has to admit at some point that maybe Carrie did actually change and that holding teenage grudges isn't the most mature thing to do. From then on the hostility is more teasing than real and Carrie plays along because she knows Flynn has a lot of fun with it.
And of course Carrie manages to rescue her friendship with Kayla and Trevor recovers ;D

20 questions writer meme!
Thanks for tagging me @jmrothwell! 😊💕
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
A humble 9 😌
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
24,651
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Julie and The Phantoms, and currently working on my first contribution to Red, White & Royal Blue… 👀 I’ve previously written for Rent The Musical, and (no longer attached to any of my accounts) rpf for Steel Train and fun.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
King of Your Heart (JATP) → Willex ft. Die-hard Willie & Bobby
Rated M, 17.4k words, 10/? Tags: Pirate/Mage AU, Enemies-to-lovers, Slow Burn, Hurt/Comfort Summary:  Willie’s life is constantly in motion, and he’s never wanted it any other way. He doesn’t know how he could function any other way. But right now he sees nothing but blue sea as he sits on his perch, and the endless nothingness is making him incredibly nauseated. - That is, until an enemy ship shows up and Willie finds himself stranded with the most annoyingly handsome guy he's ever met. OR Romantic Willie/Alex with a side of platonic die-hard Willie/Bobby
I’m Thirsty (Rent) → Mark/Roger ft. Maureen
Rated M, 1.4k words, 1/1 Tags: Jealousy, Fluff, Implied sexual content Summary: Maureen's got a new girlfriend. She and Mark have been broken up for at least a month now. So why, to Roger's frustration, does Mark keep inviting Maureen over?
Lonely Blue (Rent) → Mark/Roger
Rated T, 682 words, 1/1 Tags: Modern AU, Hurt/Comfort, Mild Homophobia Summary: When Mark comes out to his parents, it’s a fucking mess
Sunday Morning (Rent) -> Mark/Roger
Rated G, 358 words, 1/1 Tags: Fluff Summary: Mark and Roger being soft and stupid when they wake up in the morning
It’s Not Fair (Rent) -> Mark/Roger
Rated M, 1.2k words, 2/? Tags: Unresolved Sexual Tension, Mild Sexual Cotent, Abandoned Fic Summary:  Mark takes in a shaky breath. How is Roger so effortlessly sexy? He’s not even doing anything.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I generally try to, if I have the spoons. There’s something so fun about keysmashing with someone who’s equally excited about what you’ve done with the characters. I’ve also made some meaningful connections through comments, and the likelihood of making new friends that way looks pretty damn good to me!
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
It’s still technically a wip, and it has no title yet… just know my boy Reggie is fucking going through it. But if we’re talking about published fics, I’d say Lonely Blue is definitely upsetting
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
For a cheeky happiest ending: Played It To The Beat (JATP) → Best Friends Julie & Alex
Rated G, 1.4k words, 1/1 Tags: Making a playlist together!, Kind of crack? Summary:  Julie has been desperately searching for songs to add to a playlist for what she’s been calling an anniversary party for Flynn, which isn’t for what Alex thought it was going to be.
For the fluffiest happiest ending: I’m The King of the Ocean (JATP) → Willex
Rated T, 503 words, 1/1 Tags: King Of Your Heart AU, Falling In Love, Holding Hands Summary: “I can handle anything.” Alex smirks. “Anything?” “Anyth—” Willie yelps and splutters as he cops a huge splash in his face. Alex explodes with laughter.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I don’t write nearly enough for this to happen
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I used to write explicit smut, but not anymore. I might occasionally allude to an act in my current writing. I have some trauma around specifically writing explicit smut 👍 I still fucking read it tho 😎 I’m doing my part 🫡 And who knows! Maybe I’ll return to writing it one day. You’ll just have to find out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
No crossovers from me
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I sure hope not 😬
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yeah… King Of Your Heart was co-written with someone I no longer speak to. They were a very important person in my life and I cared about them a lot. It also means KOYH is on indefinite hiatus because I have mixed feelings about updating it without them That’s not to say I haven’t written the following chapters though… 👀 (They exist, and if you ask nicely, I might share a private link with you)
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I don’t think I have one 🤔
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Honestly, so many. But the one that I CONSTANTLY think about is the New Year’s prompt that jmrothwell actually sent me in JANUARY. AND IT’S NOVEMBER NOW. I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO END IT. WHAT I HAVE SO FAR IS REALLY FUCKING GOOD TOO WHICH MAKES ME SO UPSET 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
16. What are your writing strengths?
Imagery, descriptive stuff. Poetic things. Similes and metaphors. I’m giving an awesome example of that rn 🫡
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Over-explaining, making sentences longer than they need to be
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I like to avoid it. The only other language I know how to write in is Simplified Chinese, and even then my vocab is so limited. Plus, I feel like writing with Asian languages that use characters instead of the Latin alphabet would look really clunky amongst otherwise English prose. Pinyin would be equally as unnatural to read too, imo
19. First fandom you wrote for?
You mean bandom? 😔 our name is fun. 😔 nachel forever (og mutuals know) 😔
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Big fan of Played It To The Beat. BEST FRIENDS JULIE MOLINA & ALEX MERCER SUPREMACY 🛐
Tagging: @floating-in-the-blue, @noworneverphantom, @fiddlepickdouglas, @thesevenumbrellas

 “happy new year.” “should we kiss?” “what?” “what?”
For willex!?
ty for sending this in, anon! this went a little all over the place, but i hope you like it!
 “happy new year.” “should we kiss?” “what?” “what?” (willex, 1.1k)
“Tonight’s the night, dude.” Luke wraps an arm around Alex’s neck and leans his full weight on him. Thankfully, Alex is used to Luke’s koala-like antics by now, and he’s able to stay upright.
“Are you excited?” Luke asks, grinning widely. He certainly looks excited.
Alex isn’t so sure he himself is – right now, he mostly feels a little queasy with nerves – but Luke’s enthusiasm is appreciated.
What Luke is referring to is that it’s New Year’s Eve tonight. Well, that part is obvious, considering they’re at an NYE party at Alex’s apartment, both covered in glitter, but the specific part he’s excited about is that two months ago, Alex promised he’d do something about his crush on his roommate within the year, and since he only has a few hours left… Tonight’s the night.
“It’s gonna be fine, ‘Lex.” Reggie appears in front of him, a glass that looks like it’s filled with hummus in his hand and a party hat crooked on his head. “He’s totally gonna say he likes you back, and then you’ll kiss and hold hands and be, like, the prettiest couple ever.”
“Infuriatingly pretty,” Luke says, nodding seriously. “Like one of those model couples.”
“I mean, have you seen Willie’s arms?” Reggie fishes a carrot out of nowhere and dips it into his hummus. Alex didn’t even know they had that at the party. “And his hair, and their eyes…”
“And Alex also has awesome hair.” Luke ruffles it as if he’s proving a point. Alex squawks and ducks away, hands immediately flying up to undo Luke’s damage. “And he has good shoulders, and a nice jawline and stuff.”
“Very true.” Reggie stares at Alex’s face. “And Willie has awesome cheekbones.”
“Okay,” Alex says, cheeks flushed, “am I the one with the crush, or do you guys have something to confess?”
Luke and Reggie shrug in tandem. Reggie bites down on his carrot.
“Nah, dude,” Luke says, “we’re just hyping you up.”
“And reminding you what a catch Willie is.” Reggie swallows his bite and glances at the clock. “Also, you have, like, twenty minutes left. You’d better go find them.”
“Right.” Alex brushes his hands on his jeans.
He’s pretty nervous about this. He hasn’t dated a lot, doesn’t get many crushes either. There’s something about Willie, though, that drew him in the second he met them. He was lost as soon as they locked eyes, as soon as he saw Willie’s kind, gorgeous smile.
He’s pretty sure Willie feels the same, actually, which is exciting. They’ve been exchanging flirty touches and comments ever since they moved in together and that hasn’t exactly slowed down. It also hasn’t escaped Alex’s notice that Willie hasn’t dated anyone in all the time they’ve known each other, even though there can’t be a lack of people interested in going out with him. Willie’s a total catch.
The one big drawback to asking Willie out is the roommate part of it all. If he’s rejected, Alex doesn’t think he can handle living with Willie anymore. He won’t be able to find anything else on short notice, he’s definitely not moving back in with his parents, and, well. He looks at Luke and Reggie, who are now dipping celery sticks in the mystery hummus. Alex is pretty sure Reggie has a vegetable stash in his pocket. He’s even more sure that Reggie will forget about said stash and will discover it weeks later when it smells, and Luke will dare him to eat it like they haven’t all had food poisoning before, and. Alex loves his friends. He just doesn’t want to live with that.
But it’s Willie. Alex cranes his neck to catch a glimpse of his roommate, who’s on the other side of their living room, talking and laughing. Willie sees him looking and winks.
Taking that as a sign, Alex begins to make his way over to Willie’s corner.
He only makes it about two steps before there’s someone else hanging around his neck.
“Alex!” A bright voice chirps. Alex is hit with a wave of blonde hair in the nose. It smells of roses. “What a lovely party. Happy New Year!”
“Happy New Year, Carrie.” Alex carefully untangles her, taking a deep, rose-free breath as soon as he can. Carrie is a good friend of his, hence the invitation, but right now, she’s the last person he wants to talk to. Conversations with Carrie tend to go on for hours. It’s great when they’re sharing gossip, but when he’s just worked up the courage to finally ask his crush out? Not so much.
Thankfully, Luke and Reggie come to his rescue after a few minutes, distracting Carrie with their hummus and newly acquired breadsticks. Those, Alex thinks he recognises from his own cupboard, but he decides not to ask questions.
Still, the road to Willie isn’t an easy one. Since he’s one of the hosts, everyone wants to talk to Alex. They all want to say hi, thank him for the party, ask about his New Year’s resolutions. It’s great, and Alex loves his friends, but his patience is waning with every step he takes.
By the time he makes it to Willie, the countdown has started.
“Hey,” Willie says, speaking loudly so Alex can hear him over the music. “We throw a pretty good party, huh?”
“We do,” Alex agrees. Around them, the countdown grows louder. Willie joins in, throwing his head back when the clock hits midnight, shouting with glee. Alex is entranced by the glitter spread on their cheekbones.
“Happy New Year,” Willie yells, chorusing along with their guests. He’s only looking at Alex, though.
“Happy New Year,” Alex shouts back.
“So,” Willie says, leaning in close, “should we kiss?”
Alex chokes on air.
“What?”
“What?” Willie smirks. “You’re not exactly subtle, you know. I’ve been waiting for you to make a move for months, but then you didn’t. I saw you chicken out, like, a dozen times. So I figured that in the new year, it’d be my turn, so. Can I kiss you?”
“I was going to ask you,” Alex says, brain whirring. “But then there were so many people.”
Willie chuckles. “Well, we did throw a party. It’d be sad if there were no people.”
“Fair enough.” Alex swallows. Bites his lips. His gaze falls down to Willie’s mouth before snapping back up to his eyes. Willie’s smug grin grows even bigger.
“Is that a yes?” Willie steps closer and slides one hand around the back of Alex’s neck. He leans in, but leaves plenty of space for Alex to say no and step away.
Alex doesn’t want to step away, though. Instead, he steps closer and places his hands on Willie’s waist.
“That’s a yes,” he breathes out before kissing Willie.
Happy New Year indeed.

kiss prompt for willex: "since you're already invading my space, why not escalate to kissing?" (or something like that) <3
Alex groans as his non corporeal form aches and throbs from the fall. Shouldn't one of the benefits of being a ghost be that you can't get hurt anymore?
Willie shifts on top of him, and looks down at him with a sheepish grin. "Oops."
"Oops." Alex says flatly. "Didn't we already do this? You think you would have learned by now."
Willie raises an eyebrow, attempting to look aggrieved, but the corner of his lips twitch with the beginning of a smile. "So this is my fault? Not yours for wandering blindly into my path? At the skate park?"
"Nope," Alex says, much more practiced at holding a stoic expression in the face of the ridiculous, a benefit of being friends with Luke and Reggie since they were kids.
Willie snorts and Alex almost breaks.
Alex feels the ghost of Luke possessing him, stifling a giggle at the utter absurdity of that thought, and lets the words spill out of his mouth anyway.
"Since you're already invading my space, you may as well kiss me."
Willie, in the middle of levering himself off Alex's sprawled form, freezes. His thighs are spread over Alex's, the heat of him bleeding through their jeans.
A moment more, and Alex begins to shrink in on himself, wishing he'd just let Willie get up. Wishing he hadn't opened his stupid mouth.
He's never letting Luke's ghost possess him ever again.
Or something.
He's never letting Luke's stupid, impulsive behavior infect him ever again. That's it.
Willie laughs, and reaches up to flip his hair to fall over one shoulder, revealing the taut line of his throat, the loose neck of his shirt slipping down his shoulder.
"Might as well invade your mouth while I'm here, huh?"
Alex groans and covers his face with his hands. "That was truly terrible. Offer rescinded."
The ends of Willie's hair tickle Alex's hands as the heat of him covers Alex again, until his shirt brushes Alex's chest. Willie pries his hands away from his face and presses them to the concrete on either side of Alex's head.
Alex can't help but look up at him, at his sparkling dark eyes, narrow with amusement. At the curtain of his hair, lit up by the setting sun behind it, turning it into threads of bronze. At the shape of his mouth as he licks his lips, betraying his nerves.
He tilts his chin up, reluctantly letting Luke's stupid, impulsive behavior influence him again. Willie's lips curl into his beautiful smile, and Alex's breath hitches.
It's simply unfair how beautiful Willie is.
Willie closes the distance between their mouths as if he's been switched to slow motion. Alex's whole body is buzzing with anticipation by the time their mouths meet, and he's ready to leap out of his skin.
Willie's fingers tighten on his wrists, but the pain grounds him, the rough drag of the concrete settling him.
Willie drops soft, dry kisses to his lips, barely drawing back before pressing another to the corner of Alex's mouth, to his cupid's bow, to the dip below his lower lip.
Then he's back, sliding their mouths together properly; real, sweet, pressure. Alex's lips part on a gasp, and Willie teases the tender flesh just inside with his tongue.
"Willie…" Alex breathes, lips tingling now with the tickle of Willie's wicked tongue.
Willie seals their mouths together again, his tongue pressing insistently inside, deeper, winding teasingly around Alex's.
They kiss until they're breathless, Alex's wrists jerking under Willie's hold as he strives to touch.
"Not very good at defending against invading forces, are you, hotdog?" Willie murmurs, his hot breath setting Alex's lips to tingling again.
"You are truly the worst. Shut up." Alex pushes up and captures Willie's mouth again, muffling his giggles.

I'm gonna be mean and ask for [ CRY ] for Willex.
The last thing Willie expects when he rolls out of bed Thursday morning is the fucking end of the world.
Except he can hear air raid sirens and the distant sounds of screams. Looking out his window he can see fire in the horizon and a whole lot of smoke that is a distinctly greenish hue.
Cause for a little fucking panic, to be sure.
He get dressed and packs a bag full of things he's sure he'll need. There's no sign of Caleb anywhere, but he often falls asleep at his desk at the club, and all Willie can hope for is that the strip is relatively untouched. He flicks on the news, but it's just more scenes of destruction and devastation with little explanation, so he quickly turns it off again.
Phone lines are down, as is the internet, Willie isn't holding out hope for the power much longer. Realistically, he knows he could stay here. Caleb's house is pretty well protected, high up on the hills with few other residences surrounding it. But he also doesn't relish staying here when the looters show up or when that sickly looking smoke gets any closer.
If he's gonna die, he's doing it with friends.
Laden down with supplies, and the knife he kept from his street kids days, plus the mace that Caleb insisted he carry, no matter how illegal, Willie leaves the house. Keeps the key around his neck in hopes that one day he'll be able to come back. Hops on his board and goes.
He passes by a lot of abandoned cars, and a few bodies that he quickly moves on from. He's not keen on touching them, goodness knows what's going on, and he doesn't really need that curiosity sated right about now.
Right now all he cares about is finding Alex.
God, Alex. His anxiety must be skyrocketing right about now. He hopes that he's with Luke and Reggie who can talk him down, at least keep the hyperventilating to a minimum. He decides to head for the garage first, as he's pretty sure the guys had band practise scheduled for today, and that Alex isn't trapped with his terrible parents.
The Mercers would probably blame gay people and the rise of liberal media for this-not a place you wanna be trapped when the world is falling down around you. Willie is fine with people believing in whatever they want, but he doesn't think feeble prayers and condemnation of people will do much to help the situation.
The road to Los Feliz is pretty bad, and worryingly empty. Well there's a few fires, and more corpses. But there's no people, no one looting or fleeing or even panicking in the streets. He passes through Silver Lake and sees the beachfront has been decimated. Nothing but crumbling foundations and burnt wood left. Willie really hopes Reggie wasn't home when this happened.
The Molina house is still standing, somehow.
The garage is empty, locked up tight, so Willie goes up to the main house, pounding frantically on the door. Bounces on his toes as he waits, hopes against hope that his friends are all here. Finally he hears the turn of the locks, and the door flings open. Ray is standing there, urging him inside.
"Hi Willie. They're up in Julie's room."
Willie shoots the man a grateful smile but takes the stairs two at a time. Flings open Julie's door, panting for breath. Flynn and Carrie are cuddled up on Julie's yellow loveseat, clinging to each other. Reggie is making snow angels in Julie's duvet while Luke sits in her beanbag, strumming his acoustic. Julie is at her desk, tossing lyrics at him.
And there, sitting by the window, is...
"Alex," Willie breathes out.
The drummer looks up and a smile breaks his face. "Willie!" He rushes over, taking Willie into his arms, hugging him tight. And Willie is so relieved he starts to cry. Clinging to Alex like a lifeline, soaking his shirt with tears as everything crashes down on him.
There will be time to ensure everyone else is okay, to find out what's going on, to make plans. But for now, Willie just holds onto Alex and lets himself weep, Alex rubbing his back and whispering reassurances into his hair.
It's the end of the world as he knows it, but right here in Alex's arms? Willie feels fine.

Thanks @legolasghosty, have some baby gays
Willex and Found Family. 2.5k words. Rated G.
“Do you wanna come too?” Julie had asked and Willie had never responded with a nod quicker than that lunch period. Did he want to come to the legendary Halloween party Julie had apparently been hosting—or her parents had been hosting—for four years now? Absolutely, there was no question.
Willie’s mom dropped him off at Julie’s house.
“And you’re gonna call me if you want me to pick you up early, alright?”
“Yes, mom,” Willie promised. “But it’s gonna be fine. They’re my friends.”
“I know they are.” Willie’s mom smiled at him with that fond smile that she only used when she was still worried about him but didn’t want him to know. “But you’ve only known them for a couple of weeks. Are you sure you don’t want me to pick you up at eleven?”
Willie gave her a pass for being worried. She was right. He had known them only for a couple of weeks, but they had basically adopted him when he had turned up on the first day of middle school. For him, it had not only been a new school environment like for all of the others, but he had been in a new state as well. He’d been completely helpless until they’d seamlessly integrated him into their friend group just two months ago.
“Yes, I’m sure. I want to stay.” Willie pondered for a moment, trying to think of something that would calm her down. “Alex will be there. And Reggie, you know Reggie.”
“Ah, yes. Reggie. He’s nice.”
“Yes, Reggie’s nice. And so are his friends. And they are my friends too.”
His mom sighed but she did seem a little calmer than before. “Okay. Did you pack a toothbrush? You’re gonna be eating a lot of candy.”
Willie couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. “Yes, I packed a toothbrush and I’m gonna use it before we go to bed.”
“Alright. If you don’t call me earlier then I’ll pick you up at 11am tomorrow, alright?”
“Sounds great, thanks.” He opened the door to exit the car but turned to her one last time. “See you. I love you.”
She smiled at him. “Love you too. Have fun!”
Willie barely got to say, “I will,” before he got swept away by Reggie rushing towards him. They both waved goodbye to Willie’s mom but Reggie was already pulling Willie towards what looked like to be a garage. Was that where the party was held?
“You’re gonna love it,” Reggie promised immediately. “I don’t know what you already know, but this is gonna be the best party of your life.” Willie didn’t want to tell him that this was also gonna be like the first party of his life. “First we’re gonna have a Halloween themed dinner, Rose—that’s Julie’s mom by the way—made pumpkin soup, and she’s gonna serve it in an actual pumpkin! Then we’re going trick or treating. Then when we’re back we’re gonna set up for scary ghost stories, and then maybe we’re gonna watch a scary movie—are you allowed to watch scary movies? And then maybe more ghost stories, we’ll see. Luke and I dared each other to see who can stay up the longest. I vote me, but that depends on how much candy I’m gonna eat. Who do you think will win? Oh! Do you want to join the dare?”
Reggie kept talking up until he pushed open the doors of the garage for them, fake spider webs littering the windows and specks of a ghost fairy light shining through. Willie barely had the chance to take a breath between Reggie’s rambling.
He was pleasantly surprised to see that the inside of the garage looked nothing like what he expected a garage to look like. It was really cozy, a lot of plants, an impressive grand piano, more instruments, and an abundance of Halloween decoration. It also had a loft, but it seemed like that was mostly used for storage.
The floor of the garage was already decked out with mattresses, blankets, and more pillows than Willie could count with just one blink of his eyes. Julie and Alex were fluffing them up and throwing them to different mattresses, apparently checking that everyone had an equal amount, probably to prevent arguments. Flynn and Luke were bustling around too and they all looked up when Willie and Reggie entered.
“Hey guys,” Luke greeted immediately.
Willie waved a little awkwardly.
“I’m so glad you could make it!” Julie called. “Do you have a preference where you want to sleep? Luke has already claimed the couch, but I think that one’s,” she pointed at the one closest to the door, “and that one’s still free.” Now she pointed to one closer to the loft.
“No, I already claimed that one, I don’t want to sleep in the middle,” Alex pointed out almost anxiously, as if anyone was gonna take it from him.
“Oh. Then the one next to that,” Julie corrected.
Willie looked over at Alex protectively putting a pillow down on his mattress. Willie thought Alex was very pretty, with his blond hair and that careful expression and the pink shirts he liked to wear sometimes. Today he was already wearing his Halloween costume, which wasn’t pink, but looked good anyways. They always did group costumes, this year’s theme was The Avengers, and Alex was dressed as Captain America. Willie thought it was very fitting. Alex the golden boy. Willie liked Alex.
“Yeah, that one’s good,” he told Julie.
“Okay perfect!” She grinned at him. She also looked great in her Thor costume. “You can put your bag down wherever, I think mom will call us for dinner soon.
Reggie let go of Willie’s arm so Willie could put his bag down on his mattress. He smiled at Alex as he passed him and Alex smiled back, which made Willie feel all tingly inside.
“Nice costume,” Flynn commented when she walked past him.
“Oh, thanks.” Willie looked down at his Black Widow outfit. He also thought it was pretty cool. “Your’s too.”
“I know, thanks.” Flynn twirled in her Hawkeye costume, even though there wasn’t much to twirl. “I’m so excited you wanted to switch with me, I think we look so much cooler like this.”
Willie nodded in agreement, not really sure how to respond.
“Hey guys, mom just said that dinner’s ready,” Julie announced and everyone scrambled to get inside the house. Even Willie was excited to finally try the soup Reggie was gushing about.
***
Reggie had been right. The soup was amazing, and Rose really did serve it in a hollowed out pumpkin, it was so cool. So was trick or treating afterwards. Willie had never been with such a big group, let alone one that exciting. People had recognized their costumes and loved them, and they all got some great candy in their baskets. Willie was a little scared of the sugar rush they were gonna experience later in the evening, but when he looked at all the bright smiles on his friends’ faces, and felt the one on his own, then he was also looking forward to it.
When they got back to the garage, they changed out of their costumes and into their PJs. There was a small bathroom in the garage and they all took turns trying to help Luke scrub off the green paint he insisted on wearing for his Hulk costume. In the end his face was more red than green from all the vigorous scrubbing, with only some edges of paint at his hairline and under his chin. He didn’t care.
They decided to watch a scary movie first, to get into the right mood for their ghost stories. Willie didn’t know if he liked scary movies, he’d never really watched one, let alone without his parents. To his relief, the movie Reggie and Flynn chose wasn’t that scary. Although he got jumpscared a couple of times, Willie was by far not the one who was most terrified by what was happening on screen. That title definitely went to Alex.
While Reggie and Luke were watching excitedly, leaning forward on the couch to get a little closer to the TV, and Flynn and Julie were huddled together but still watching nervously, Alex was completely turned away from the screen. He and Willie were sitting on a mattress, leaned again the legs of their friends on the couch, and Alex seemed so close to burying his face in Willie’s shoulder to not have to watch or hear the movie. Willie wouldn’t have minded. He would offer his shoulder if he didn’t feel so awkward about talking during a movie.
It was equally bad when their movie was finished and they were sitting in a circle, eating candy, and taking turns telling ghost stories. Willie’s wasn’t very scary, it was more funny, but he was elated that he was able to make his new friends laugh. Reggie’s was really good. It was very elaborate, he had obviously been thinking about it for a while. Luke however dominated the game. His story was terrifying. Willie didn’t know what it was, but Luke had a way with words that had even Flynn running her hands up and down her arms to soothe her goosebumps. Alex was visibly mortified. He didn’t have anything to turn away from so he just gaped at Luke like he was telling the most disturbing thing. In a way he was right.
By the time they’d all told a more or less scary story, it was 11pm and they were all exhausted. Luke and Reggie both looked ready to lose the dare for a good night’s sleep. They decided to just get ready for bed, lay on their mattresses, and see what happened, if anyone got up for another scary story, or had something else to talk about.
In the end Luke lost the dare. He was the first out of all of them to fall asleep, but he’d had the most candy, so his sugar high had the biggest after effects. Reggie and Julie quickly followed, Reggie satisfied with having won the dare and Julie tired after being the world’s best party host. Flynn, Willie, and Alex stayed up a bit longer, giggling about whatever came to their minds at this late hour, but Flynn followed her sleeping friends not that long after.
“How’d you like the party?” Alex asked eventually.
Willie smiled. “I loved it, I had so much fun. I can’t remember ever staying up this late.” He turned to look at Alex but couldn’t see very much in the dark. “You’re all so cool.”
He heard Alex shift in his bed. “We were all glad you could come. I—I think you’re really cool too.”
“Really?”
Willie heard Alex nod by the rustle of his pillow case. “Yeah. You’re really funny. And—and I loved your costume. And you have a skateboard. That’s cooler than all of us.”
That made Willie giggle. “You think so?”
“Totally. So cool.”
Willie’s chest ached in that beautiful, proud way. “I really liked your costume too, by the way.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. So cool.”
Now he heard Alex giggle quietly.
There was a rustle from the other side of room.
“What was that?” Alex squeaked, maybe a little too loud. Willie hoped he didn’t wake anyone.
“Probably just Luke on the couch. It makes sounds.”
“But not like that.” Alex turned on the mattress. “You don’t think it’s the monster from Luke’s story, do you?”
“What? No, don’t worry. That’s not real.”
“How can you be so sure?”
Yeah, how was Willie so sure?
“I—I just know. I have a skateboard, I know a lot. And I’m older than you.”
Alex swallowed audibly. “That’s true.”
There was another rustle. Alex let out a little yelp.
“Hey, it’s okay, that was Reggie,” Willie reassured immediately. He was sure that was Reggie.
“I don’t know.”
“Go to sleep, Alex. No monster can get to you when you’re asleep.”
“That’s stupid,” Alex muttered.
“Have you ever been surprised by a monster in your sleep?”
Alex hesitated. “No.”
“See? And it’s not gonna happen now.”
There was a silence. “Okay.”
“Good night, Alex.”
“Good night, Willie. Thank you.”
“Of course.”
Willie turned onto his back and closed his eyes. He felt himself let out a slow breath, almost relieved that he and Alex were done talking. He always loved it, but he was weirdly nervous about it, and it was kind of exhausting. His heart beat was slowing down too. He closed his eyes, trying to calm his mind so he could fall asleep. It didn’t stay like that for long.
Alex on the mattress next to him wouldn’t stop turning underneath his blanket. There were more rustles coming from different parts of the room, all more or less obviously from their friends, but Alex always seemed to be a bit startled by them. Willie was actually getting a little worried.
“Willie? Are you asleep yet?” Alex asked eventually. Not even five minutes had passed.
“No,” Willie responded and opened his eyes. He didn’t even think about pretending. “Why?”
“I—I think Luke’s stories really got to me.”
Damn that. Willie was gonna have a word with that boy, going around scaring his friends to death with made up stories.
“You’re right, they were really scary,” Willie agreed. Maybe that could make Alex feel a little better.
Alex’s pillow rustled in a nod, then he sat up, blanket around his shoulders, looking over at Willie. He took a quick breath and let it out just as quickly. “Can I—can I maybe sleep on your mattress?” Willie felt himself squint against the ceiling. Why would Alex want to swap mattresses? “With you?”
Oh.
That made more sense.
“Of course,” Willie heard himself say before he could really think about it. But the answer would’ve been the same if he had thought a second longer. He scooted to one side of the mattress. “I have enough space.”
Alex hesitated for a moment longer but then shuffled closer. Their mattresses were pushed together, Flynn on Willie’s other side, so that it was kind of like a big mattress anyways. Willie lifted the corner of his blanket so that Alex could slip underneath it, even though he was still wrapped up in his own blanket. It seemed like he needed the comfort. Willie wanted to make him feel as safe as possible, so he placed his blanket arm around him as well, so that Alex was cocooned in a blanket and a half and a little bit of Willie.
“Nothing can happen to you now,” Willie whispered once their faces lay opposite each other on Willie’s pillow.
“No, nothing,” Alex confirmed.
“Do you feel safer now?” Willie asked.
Alex nodded. “Yes.” He paused. “Thank you.”
“Of course,” Willie repeated and he couldn’t help but smile.
Here Alex was, ten years old, Captain America during the day. But at night he felt safer when he was sharing a mattress with someone and Willie had his arm around him. Willie heart may have picked up speed again, but he felt great. And even greater when he sleepily watched Alex drift to sleep, his face more peaceful than Willie had ever seen it.
Send me autumn prompts from this list.

The thing about the After, was that there were a lot of unknowns. As far as any of them could tell, this was uncharted territory.
And Alex liked answers, he liked rules and plans and knowing what was coming next. And now everything they thought they knew had been turned on it’s head.
Change was hard.
On the bright side, Julie gave the best hugs.
And considering he’d been best friends with the hugging machine that was Luke Patterson since seventh grade, that was saying something.
And no longer being slowly and painfully wiped from existence was a nice bonus.
Plus there was Willie. And Willie was definitely a good thing.
Except for the part where the evil one-hundred-year old, super powerful ghost who had tried to wipe them from existence still owed his soul.
Alex felt rather justified for worrying about that.
So he’s pacing up and down the length of the studio when Willie poofs in.
And he’s shaking.
Which is … not good.
“What happened?” Alex blurts, lurching towards him.
And Willie flinches back.
Alex must fail to conceal the flash of hurt on his eyes because Willie’s face twists with remorse and he’s gone before Alex can stop him.
Alex gives it a minute before he allows himself to focus on the pulsing light in his chest long enough for it to pull him after Willie.
“Hey,” he says as causally as he can manage when he finds Willie perched on the back of their bench on Sunset Boulevard, head buried in his hands.
Willie doesn’t look at him, just murmurs, “Sorry,” so quietly Alex almost doesn’t hear him.
Alex sighs, “Don’t be sorry,” he says softly as he moves to sit next to Willie, “You did nothing wrong.”
A shudder runs through Willie’s body when Alex’s arm brushes against his before he melts into Alex’s side.
“I’m so tired,” he whimpers.
“I know,” Alex runs his fingers through Willie’s tangled curls, “Do you want to talk about it?”
Willie shakes his head, “I’m fine,” he says, swiping roughly at his eyes.
Alex makes a face, “Sure you are.”
Willie sticks his tongue out, “Don’t I look it?”
Alex would almost believe him if his eyes weren’t rimmed in red. If Alex didn’t know what deflecting looked like from a mile away.
You weren’t best friends with Reggie Peters without learning what it looked like when someone was pretending to be okay.
“You don’t have to pretend around me, you know. Talk to me.”
Willie frowns, “Talking doesn’t change anything.”
Alex shrugs, “No, but it helps sometimes. Saying it out loud.”
Willie doesn’t answer him, just hides his face in the crook of Alex’s neck.
And Alex is going to let him be quiet if that’s what he needs, but, “I know I can’t protect you from everything, but I wish you’d let me protect you from the things I can control.”
Because Alex doesn’t know what’s coming. He doesn’t know the rules anymore. But he knows he’d do anything in his power to keep Willie safe.
“Just … stay like this,” Willie murmurs.
And that is definitely something Alex can do.

kiss out of spite for willex plz and thank you (if this isn't too late I'm so behind lol)
You are absolutely not too late!!! I'm just very behind, lol! Hope you enjoy!
"Hey Hotdog," Willie says as he slides onto the bench beside his boyfriend, his board under his arm.
"Hi," Alex responds, that familiar smile crossing his face as he leans in to peck them gently on the mouth in greeting. "How was the ride over?"
"Great, all the dogs are out!" Willie answers. One of the things that makes this cafe one of his and Alex's date spots is that it's not too far to walk (or skate) to from either of their apartments. And the warm, spring weather makes it an easy place to meet up.
Alex laughs. "Oh I know, Reggie hasn't stopped texting the guys and I pictures all day."
Willie claps a hand to his chest in mock offense. "And he hasn't sent any to me?! I thought we were friends."
"Nope, you've been spared the spam of puppy pictures, he definitely likes you more than me," Alex argues lightly.
"What, you don't appreciate him sharing the cuteness of his day with you?" Willie teases.
The barista calls out Alex's name before the drummer can reply. Alex holds up a finger, as if to say Hold that thought, then rises and heads for the counter. Willie glances towards the menu board. Right, cafe, he should probably get something. They wonder if that new chocolate thing comes in decaf.
"Okay, I got one of the berry lemonades and one of this dutch chocolate mocha," Alex says, placing a tall glass and a large mug on the table. "Which do you want?"
Willie feels their face warming as they realize that Alex ordered drinks for both of them. "Um, I'm good with either," he says, trying to translate the way his heart skips a beat into a smile Alex can read. "Thank you."
Alex groans playfully. "Look, we both know I can't make decisions, so pick a drink, Covington." He sits down on the bench beside Willie and nudges both drinks in their direction.
Willie hesitates, glancing back and forth between the cups. "This is decaf, right?" he asks after a second, tapping the rim of the mug.
"Yep, can't have you going hyper or me throwing up," Alex confirms.
"I'll try that one then," Willie decides, wrapping both hands around the hot ceramic and lifting it.
"Perfect," Alex declares, taking a sip of the lemonade. "You'll have to tell me if it's good though, looked interesting."
"Will do." Willie takes a sip of the beverage, recoiling slightly when it burns their tongue. "Thank you," they repeat.
"Of course," Alex says, though the pink in his cheeks betrays his casual tone. "Gotta keep my partner well hydr-" He cuts himself off, probably realizing that drinking coffee is the opposite of hydrating. "Happy to," he finishes after a second.
Willie lets it go, since Alex already seems embarrassed. "So about all those dog pictures Reggie sent you," they hint instead, raising an eyebrow.
Alex chuckles, seeming glad for the change of topic. "What, you want to see them that bad?" he questions, incredulous. "There's a lot of them."
"Gimme!" Willie declares, reaching for the pocket of Alex's pink hoodie, where his phone usually resides.
"Okay okay okay," Alex giggles, holding up one hand in surrender while grabbing the device with the other.
He unlocks it and leans closer so Willie can see the screen. Feeling brave, Willie wraps an arm around his waist to guide him even closer. Alex's ears are turning pink, but he carefully slips his own arm around Willie's shoulders.
"So..." Alex hums, scrolling back through the Sunset Curve group chat on his phone, past dozens of pictures and messages. "Yeah all of this is from today," he continues, still scrolling. "But here's the first one I think."
Willie coos at the blurry picture of a couple of golden labs wrestling near a playground. Next is a spaniel on a walk with their human. Then a dog walker being nearly dragged across the sidewalk by four dogs of various sizes. Willie laughs at that one.
Alex scrolls down to the next one, but someone loudly clearing their throat pulls both of their attention away from the screen. On the other side of their table stands a tall, white man in jeans and a flannel shirt. He also has a very deep frown on his face.
"Hey, what's up?" Willie asks cautiously. He feels Alex's arm tense around his shoulders.
"What's 'up'," the guy snaps, putting air quotes around the second word, "is that you two are being all rowdy over here and bothering my family."
The guy has a slight southern accent, but the look on his face is anything but hospitable. Willie glances across the cafe to see a woman and three kids, probably all under the age of 10, a few tables away. The kids are making more noise than he and Alex were though.
"Sorry," Alex says quickly. "We weren't trying to, we'll be quieter."
The guy doesn't seem satisfied by that, which doesn't surprise Willie. They're pretty sure they know what this is actually about.
"You'd better get real quiet," the man says, taking a step closer. "I don't need you people exposing my kids to all your unnatural tenancies."
Willie feels Alex shrinking into their side and resists the urge to punch this guy in the face. Sure, they're both well aware that jerk homophobes are everywhere. But right now? Really? Alex is barely back from having to spend a weekend with his homophobic parents for a family reunion. Can't this jerk just mind his own business?
"With all due respect," Willie responds, his tone icy, "I think your kids aren't going to be eternally traumatized by me and my boyfriend being on a date while they're drinking hot chocolate in the same cafe. Please leave us alone."
"You people got some nerve," the man growls, one fist clenching.
Willie slides the hand that isn't on Alex's waist into his pocket, reaching for his pepper spray.
"Sure, we have guts," Alex cuts in, startling both the man and Willie. "But not because we're doing anything wrong. We're brave for still being out here when people like you are here too. People who want us dead just because we're queer."
Willie feels a rush of pride for his boyfriend in his chest. They know just how much Alex has had to fight against the homophobia drilled into him from an early age. They know all about how much pain it causes him when his parents continue to pretend that he isn't gay. They know how terrifying these situations are for the both of them. And Alex is standing up for them anyways.
"Yeah, and we're not going anywhere," Willie adds, feeling Alex's trembling. "It's not like being gay is anything new. It's just a part of humanity, whether you like it or not. So you might as well give up and leave us alone, because your big man act is just pathetic." He channels every bit of his dad into that last sentence. "Now either leave us be or we'll call the cops."
The guy splutters for a minute, then storms off. Alex just stares after him for a long moment, then turns to Willie with a nervous smile.
"You okay?" the drummer asks, brushing a strand of hair away from their face.
"Yeah, you?" Willie responds, catching Alex's hand with their own.
Alex nods. "I think so. I just wasn't really expecting that I guess."
"Me either," Willie says, taking in a deep breath.
He glances back over at the man's table to see him snapping at his kids to finish their drinks so they can leave. They can't help the smirk that pulls at their lips. The two of them did that. They stood up to that jerk and drove him off. Together.
"You did great," he tells Alex, squeezing his hand.
"Right back at you," Alex chuckles, his smile growing a bit. The drummer steals a look over at the other table as well. "Geez, sucks to be that guy's kids," he comments.
"Yeah," Willie agrees sadly. "Maybe he'll get better?"
Alex just shakes his head. Willie wonders if he reminded the drummer of his dad at all. But now isn't for thinking about jerks, they tell themself. Today is for having fun and being back together.
"Hey, you wanna tick that dude off a bit more?" Willie asks, raising an eyebrow and grinning.
Alex huffs a laugh. "Depends, what did you have in mind?"
Instead of verbally answering, Willie moves his arm from Alex's waist to cup the back of his neck. They move in closer, pausing a few inches away from his face to wait for an answer. Alex smirks and closes the distance between them in a warm, solid kiss.
Willie lets go of Alex's hand to cup his jaw as the drummer's fingers slide into their hair. It's firm and steady and it's not long before they're both smiling too much to keep kissing. The glare the homophobe shoots them as he herds his family out the door just makes them laugh.
"I missed you," Alex breathes into the space between them. "I know I wasn't actually gone for that long, but..."
"I get it," Willie responds softly. "I missed you too."
They separate fully after another minute. Willie's coffee is getting cold, but they don't really mind. "So my place after this?" he suggests. "We can get takeout for dinner and watch some cheesy gay romcom or something?"
"Sounds perfect," Alex agrees.
The End

25 and Willex (bonus points if the child/dog/friend is Reggie?) (If you're still taking prompts for this 😁)
Every year for Halloween, Willie went back to the group home where he'd stayed to volunteer to take the kids trick or treating. Not only was it a way of giving back - of assuaging the guilt he sometimes felt, wondering why Caleb had picked a chaotic, messy fourteen year old over any of the sweeter, smaller kids - but it was amazing fun too.
He got to dress up, run around with a bunch of kids, and also maybe keep a list of houses to come back and egg later, if they were weird or stuck up about 'those group home kids begging for candy'.
Besides, being 18 at the Hollywood Ghost Club on Halloween sucked. It wasn't even like he could use his fake ID, the bartenders all knew him. And Caleb was super strict about stuff like that during business hours. So he helped out at the group home, and then went to the staff party at the Club the day after, when they were closed and nobody cared too much about whether or not a certain son of the owner swiped a Bloodtini. Or skated off the railing. Or tried to dunk the green grilled cheeses in the chocolate fountain.
And okay, so maybe this year his costume was a little obscure, but he'd procrastinated getting anything, so he ended up raiding Caleb's old costumes from his 'I did other stuff on Broadway too you know' closet, and some of his own, and a trip to the dollar store, and he was pretty pleased with himself.
Except clearly someone recognised him.
"OH MY GOD, ZEKE ZILLIONS SPACE COWBOY?" someone across the street screamed, before dragging someone by the arm over to them.
"See, I told you he was a real character," Willie told the four nine year olds he was chaperoning. They rolled their eyes at him.
"Oh my god oh my god," A boy about his age said. He was dressed up as a zombie, though for some reason he was also carrying a wok. His friend was also a zombie, but had on a long pink wig, giant fake pearls, and a pink dress. He had great legs. "Zeke Zillions Space Cowboy was my absolute favourite cartoon as a kid. Can I please get a picture? Pretty please?"
"Sure can, Pard'ner," he said in his best Zeke Zillions impression, and the guy straight up went 'EEEEeee' like he was an early twothousands internet fangirl. After his friend took a bunch of pictures, he thanked the kids for their patience.
"By the way, number 42 is handing out full-sized candy bars," ZomBarbie said.
Throughout the night, every time they crossed paths (ZomBarbie and the Wokking Dead were accompanied by a witch, Kurt Cobain, and a tiny ghost buster), they'd wave at each other, as his fan shouted out a 'HI ZEKE!'. Eventually they ended up at the same house, waiting for the kids to get back.
"Sorry about Reggie," ZomBarbie said. "He's um, kind of a fanboy for that show. Like, writes-fanfiction-and-goes-to-obscure-fan-meet-ups kind of fan. I think you just made his year."
"That's okay, I'm glad someone remembers good old Zeke," Willie said. He was definitely going sleuthing on AO3 later. He wondered what the ships were. "The show meant a lot to me as a kid, what with the obvious queer-coding." Hopefully, a cute boy in a dress would understand that.
"Yeah," ZomBarbie said. "My parents didn't allow me to watch it. Too worried I'd turn out 'fruity'." He motioned to himself. "Clearly they succeeded," he said sarcastically.
"You do really pull off that dress, though," Willie said, waggling his eyebrows. His zombie friend went adorably flustered, from what he could tell under the zombie makeup.
Before he could flirt any more, the kids came back, complaining about how this house was handing out toothbrushes and toothpaste. "Can you put them on the list, Willie?" one of them, the girl dressed as Coraline, asked.
"Handing out toothbrushes is kind of dorky, but not an egg-able offense," Willie told her. "We reserve that for bigots and assholes."
"You have a list?" ZomBarbie asked, as they walked to the next house. His kids and the little Ghost Buster were comparing notes, it seemed, pointing at different houses.
"Yeah, lot of people in this fancy-pants neighbourhood don't take kindly to poor foster kids showing up," Willie said darkly.
"Carlos said something about that white house with the American Flag outside complaining about him going back to his own neighbourhood," the witch said darkly. "We live two blocks from here."
Willie glared, and made a note of it. "You wanna join me?" he asked, mostly to ZomBarbie, but quickly looking away at the rest of the group.
"My tía would kill me," the witch said, before smiling slyly. "But I'm sure Alex wouldn't mind going."
ZomBarbie spluttered a little, but managed to squeak out a little 'okay!'
Jackpot.
Behind him, he heard the guy's friend sigh happily. "And once again, Zeke Zillions saves the day, dispenses justice to evil doers, and captures hearts."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY(week) I am so behind on my dash pretend it's tuesday #1 - Person A is a grouch about birthdays so Person B decides to throw them a birthday party with just their pet(s) present for Willex plz and thank you!
(Also available on AO3)
Alex bit back his groan, as another coworker stopped by to wish him a Happy Birthday. As politely as he was able he replied with a brief thank you, his lips in a tight smile. He knew he should have taken the day off work.
In theory, he didn’t hate birthdays. It was nice having a day dedicated to shower the people you care about in love and affection. In practice however. The unending attention from strangers and people you tried to regularly avoid; suddenly becoming the center of the universe and everyone's attention was just too much.
It got even more annoying when people would make it a bigger deal after he asked them not to. By the time lunch rolled around he was texting Willie about how he wished he had just called in sick today. With the way his anxiety was spiking and twisting his stomach he still might.
And he still had to deal with whatever nonsense his friends came up with to celebrate.
That wasn’t fair. He was just exhausted and letting his anxiety get the better of him. His friends were usually pretty good about considering what others wanted for their birthdays. Last year they’d all had a spa day, which he’d thoroughly enjoyed.
This year they had all been fairly tight-lipped. So he knew he was in for some sort of surprise.
As Alex approached his front door after work, he held his breath, shoulders tense. He hadn’t seen any extra cars outside, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t have parked elsewhere or Ubered. The only reason he knew something was up was because Willie had double checked what time he was getting home. Like it changed that much.
With a deep breath Alex opened the door and was immediately ambushed by dogs of varying sizes. He immediately recognized David, his Irish Wolfhound. Soon after he could spot Dolly-Reggie’s Spaniel mix.
Most of these dogs, however, weren’t familiar to him. He enthusiastically greeted them all the same.
“Surprise!” Willie cheerily called out from where he sat on the couch. Alex looked around and couldn’t spot anyone else. Willie’s smile grew as he got up to wade through the small sea of dogs to pull Alex into a hug.
“Hi,” Alex breathlessly greeted between kisses. “What is this?”
“Your birthday party.” Willie beamed as he pulled Alex to the couch, a good portion of the dogs following them. Dolly hopped up in their lap once they’d sat down.
Alex chuckled as he helped a teacup yorkie up onto the couch. He kept the small animal close, it was so tiny he worried the larger dogs might trample it. “Whose dogs are these?”
“Well you already know David and Dolly.” Willie explained as he provided Dolly with ear scratches. “The rest are from either Carlos’s dog walking job, or various friends and family we asked.”
Alex hummed as he relaxed back into the couch, the exhaustion from his anxiety being ramped up all day solidly hitting him. He laughed out, “Where’s everyone else?”
“We figured we could do a group thing this weekend if you wanted.” Willie smiled as he shifted to sit on the floor to better play with the other dogs. “But I thought you sounded like you could use some good puppy therapy today.”
“Well, thank you.” Alex pressed a kiss to the top of Wilie’s head as he hugged him from behind. “This is a pretty perfect birthday party.”

————————————————————————
Skating through the LA streets at night was one of Willie's favorite things to do. They could let their worries just wash away as the cool night breeze blew over him.
He could also focus on where they were going, if he had a destination in mind. This time he did, his boyfriend's house. Or practice studio they supposed.
The streetlights lit up the almost dark streets while his thoughts raced thinking about everything they would do once they arrived. It had been a while since he had seen Alex, ever since Julie brought the boys back Caleb had been missing and the club was a complete disaster. Willie, being one of Caleb's favorites was an obvious choice to help reorganize everything, so they hadn't gotten any time to go see him.
He still couldn't believe that the boys had survived Caleb's curse, no one had ever done that before. Something about Julie… He had never met her, but Alex loved her so Willie decided they did too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sitting up from the couch Alex's first thought was, "Where the fuck am I?"
Oh.
He was in the garage of course, he had fallen asleep while watching the new Star Wars movies with Reggie. Not his favorite activity, especially with Reggie's constant gasps at the very obvious plot twists. Alex didn't mind though, he got to spend time with his friend while Luke and Julie spent another day on a date together. Ever since they finally got together a few weeks ago that's all they had been doing.
Although he couldn't really blame them, he would do anything to be with Willie right now. The club had been so busy since Caleb's disappearance they hadn't gotten to catch a break. Last time they saw each other was only for a moment, reuniting after the Orpheum performance. Their first kiss.
Alex's mind still raced at the thought of his now boyfriend. Back home when they were still alive this wouldn't have been possible. But now, anything could be happen, being a ghost and all (many questions still waiting to be answered).
Reggie was sprawled on the couch next to him, he must've fallen asleep soon after Alex or he would have been woken by the boy much sooner. He figured some food would be good, but before he could get to his feet Willie walked straight through the door.
"Willie?!"
Alex burst out of his seat in shock running towards his boyfriend and tackling them into a hug.
"Hotdog, I missed you so much!" Willie mumbled grinning ear to ear into the soft boy's shoulder.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were busy?"
"Things at the club calmed down for a bit so of course I needed to see my boyfriend."
Those words turned Alex into a blushing puddle of gay, making Willie smirk at his boyfriend's reaction, further melting Alex's heart.
Their eyes darted up to his head, where a floppy mess of hair sat- of course he had to ruffle it.
"Willieeee" Their boyfriend whined, still entwined in the hug.
They giggled at the boy attached to him, scooped him up and dumped him on the couch smothering him in kisses messing up his already messy hair. They stayed there for the rest of the night, falling asleep embraced in each others arms for the first time in far too long.
First Lines game
I was tagged a while ago by @nuandia, @innytoes and @invisibleraven (thank you, sweeties!! <3)
Rules: post the first lines of your last 10 fics posted to ao3. if you have less than 10 fics posted, post the first lines of all your fics.
After a first encounter that included sweat, blood, trash, stolen underwear, breaking into his own apartment, and a marriage proposal, things could only get better, right? After all, Willie had already seen him at his worst and had still decided to help him out.
(Boxer Wisdom, Part 2 of The Saga of Toast, Willex neighbour AU with added chaos cat)
The thing about Alex that very few people knew about him was that he was a cat person and wished for nothing more than to adopt a kitten as soon as he was able to move out of his parent’s home.
(Living the Dream ... ?, Part 1 of The Saga of Toast)
The boys had been acting strange for at least a week now. Granted, the boys were mostly always acting outside the boundaries of ‘normal’ on any given day and anything else would have been worrisome but this was a new strange and it had Caleb feeling antsy.
Something was up.
(All Things Strange and Beautiful, Caleb's harem AU aka Caleb/Willie/Alex/Luke/Reggie, E)
“Dude, will you calm down!”
Alex flicks his hair out of his face, clearly annoyed, and Luke realises only now that his legs are practically vibrating on the bench. He forces them to bounce at a slightly slower pace but he just can’t help it. He’s way too excited to sit still.
(All the Steps We Take, Luke/Willie/Alex childhood best friends to lovers with added Alex AU ;D)
The boy from the sea had not imagined it to hurt this much. Like coral spikes cutting skin with every stumbling step.
(Call of the Ocean | Depths of Devotion, Willex merman fairytale au)
Willie was starting to get worried. True, he hadn’t known Alex all that long but so far he’d never been late and what with his anxiety and all, Willie didn’t think Alex would be the type to ever be late. Unless something was wrong.
(Purrfect Love, the 'Alex gets transformed into a kitten' Willex au)
The music in the club is pulsating around him while Alex’s fingers drum on the tabletop to the beat, an altogether different drumming happening inside his head. He wishes he stopped Luke from getting another round of drinks for them because that means it’ll take even longer for them to leave and go home where they can curl up on the couch and cuddle. But Luke has really looked forward to this evening so Alex is trying his best not to spoil it for him.
(I Will Lie for You (I’m just no Good at it), Alex/Luke/Willie au where Willie asks Alex to pretend to be his boyfriend for a moment only Alex is terrible at lying and already has a boyfriend. They still get a threesome out of it thanks to Luke, E)
“Ugh!”
Luke drops down on the sofa with a grunt, his bag of purchases landing with a heavy clink on the floor next to him. He knows he should unpack the stuff, put some of the things in the mini fridge, but he just can’t get up the energy for it and instead flops sideways down onto the cushions and, swinging up his legs, settles face down, not caring the least bit about shoes on the couch.
(How to Get Snowed in in California for Christmas Eve (Real Snow Optional), Luke/Reggie Christmas gift fic)
When Alex finally dragged himself home after his last shift, the street lights had already turned on long ago, chasing away the darkness so it could lurk even more ominous in all the corners he passed. Alex couldn’t even bring himself to worry about it, which was a good indicator of just how bone-tired he was.
(Can I Interest You in Some Stolen Goods and My Heart?, Willex au where Willie breaks into Alex's place only to realise Alex has nothing left to steal so he brings him stuff (and steals his heart))
**skipping Our Happiness is Made out of Fragments because it's a collection of Willex ficlets**
Convincing Luke and Reggie of his plan had been easy, as expected. Luke was all fired up the moment Willie had mentioned ‘strip poker’ because that boy was always looking for a chance to show off his, admittedly very nice, arms and abs. And though Reggie may have been a bit less vocal, his glazed eyes and slightly parted lips had spoken volumes. Of course they all wanted to see each other naked. It never failed to amaze Willie that these three loveable idiots hadn’t yet worked out how much they loved each other and also wanted to bang each other. But he was going to change that.
(Checkmate, the Alex/Willie/Luke/Reggie smut fic with unexpected feels and inaccurate strip poker, E)
...uh, who hasn't been tagged yet? Trying @merihn. @glamorouspixels, @firesign23
I suddenly feel the need to write a Willex chiropractor au... who am I?
Hear me out: Sunset Curve Chiropractic
In short: Alex the main chiropractor, Willie the new patient who got hit by a car. Boy meets boy, closely helps work with him to fix his pain, all whilst slowly falling in love and being sure the other could never feel the same and also not being able to act on their feelings because ~professionalism~ and client/doctor dynamics
More detail and brief descriptions of them and the other main characters in this verse found below…
Alex is the main chiropractor, he does the initial intakes, adjustments, and works with patients to manage their pain and reach their goals. He works more closely with the extreme cases that require more hands-on, personalized attention. He is insistent on professional integrity and intent on keeping his work life separate from his personal life, which has to this point never been an issue, though a certain cute skater boy crashing into his life might conflict with that.
Willie is a new client who got hit by a car while skating in traffic, and all things considered is doing pretty well. The brunt of his physical injuries have healed, but some back pain persists, and he’s been experiencing bouts of dizziness, both of which are preventing him from living his full life and keeping him from his passion of skateboarding. His friend Julie recommended that he see a chiropractor, and though he was wary about the legitimacy of the practice, is willing to try almost anything. After his intake appointment, he finds himself far less skeptical about the whole idea. It’s unclear if this is due to the fact that everything was explained very clearly and thoroughly with a medical basis, or because of the super cute chiropractor himself. And of course, his is considered one of the special cases that requires more one-on-one work with Alex.
Other characters:
Luke is the functional trainer, he works with clients to gain and maintain strength in tandem with the other treatments. He’s always ready with enthusiastic encouragement and a fist bump for good work. He also curates the office’s background music that is playing at all times (and may occasionally slip a Sunset Curve song from their old days as a band onto the playlist). A certain curly haired patient coming in is always the highlight of his week.
Reggie runs the front desk, handles paperwork, PR, and assists Luke and Alex as needed. He’s the cheerful face that greets and happily chats with all the patients while they wait for their appointment time. He's also the one that chooses to always play videos of cute animals in the waiting area, though Alex has banned him from adding any of the "veterans reuniting with their dogs" videos into the rotation, because he found him crying at the front desk one too many times.
Julie is a current, more long-term client of the practice. Her original problem for coming in is pretty much corrected, but she keeps coming in once every two weeks for routine adjustments and continued maintenance. She and Luke consistently have flirty banter, but neither has taken any steps to go further than friendship, even though it is clear they are both interested, and Luke is bad at hiding the fact that he is head over heels for her. She is the friend who recommended the chiropractor to Willie, and she failed to mention the fact that the main chiropractor is very cute, gay, and just Willie’s type.
