Beatrix Aruna Pasztor’s Regency-esque costumes for 2004’s Vanity Fair, as well as 2012’s Great Expectations, are very distinguishable by the aesthetic of starkly uni-coloured but otherwise mostly unadorned columns of shiny shot or dupioni silks for outer garments. So, even when reused, the costumes are very distinct.
This burgundy red coat-and-trousers combo was first seen -separately – on Gabriel Byrne as a vampy Marquess of Steyne in the 2004 adaptation of William Makepeace Thackeray’s Vanity Fair.
The coat, originally a long coat, appears to have been altered into a tailcoat for the 2012 Great Expectations. David Walliams wore this particular coat as Mr. Pumblechook. The coat went on to party hard and ended up dissolute on August Diehl in Confessions of a Child of the Century only a little later that very same year. From there, it went back again, so to speak, to Vanity Fair—this time on Jos Sedley played by David Fynn, for 2018’s television adaptation. The tailcoat eventually danced through the London Ball on entrepreneur and showman Tom Parker, played by Kris Marshall, in the sixth episode of the 2019 first season of Sanditon.
I don’t know why I did this. It took 4 hours. I haven’t seen ever Brandon Rogers video (shocking, I know) so some are missing. I purposely didn’t add any parody characters (the Kardashians, Annabell, M3GAN etc), but if you notice any BRCU characters missing, please comment so I can add them.
And obviously the characters not credited are played by Brandon Rogers.
David July is credited as David Burton on this list. I’m not sure when they changed their name, as they are credited as both on Brandon’s videos.
I can’t remember who Debbie and Doyle are but I must of put them on this list for a reason

BTW, Bazil (who plays Cheshire Cat) is a trans man who goes by he/him. Just letting people know because people are misgendering him and I assume it’s because they don’t know his pronouns.

The Psychology of Guilt
Theatrical trailer
Richard Gere stars as Martin Vail, a famed defense lawyer who volunteers his services to Aaron Stampler (Edward Norton), a Kentucky teenager charged with the murder of a Chicago archbishop. Covered with blood, Aaron was captured after a foot chase broadcast live on TV, making a gleeful Vail certain that he could raise his profile by defending the obviously guilty suspect. Assigned to prosecute is Assistant District Attorney Janet Venable (Laura Linney), who is Vail's ex-girlfriend. Vail's case becomes more complicated than he expected when a psychologist, Dr. Molly Arrington (Frances McDormand) concludes that Stampler suffers from multiple personality disorder. Vail also uncovers evidence that the archbishop was involved in a corrupt land scheme and may have molested young parishioners. Now the cynical, opportunistic attorney is faced with a daunting prospect: a client who may actually deserve his best defense.

Anyways, it's May of 2009, and the runoff in Colorado's San Juan Mountains is high as the first scheduled (albeit, unscheduled in the regular timetable) train enters Baker's Park and Silverton on the first of May. The following day will bring upon the return of the regularly scheduled train, but today, we find K-28 #473, built for the Denver and Rio Grande Western eighty-six years earlier by the American Locomotive Works (ALCO) in 1923.
my all time favourite book is “primal fear” by william diehl. it's about a lawyer defending a young man who's been accused of brutally murdering a priest. so brilliant and disturbing. the movie is one of my mothers favourites too but i've never seen it.

LIVESTREAM (and almost): NICOLE GLOVER with Tyrone Allen and Kayvon Gordon, SMALL’S JAZZ CLUB, 29-30 DECEMBER 2023, 7:30 and 9 pm sets
I close out the year with one of my favorite players whom I make a point of seeing—this year as part of Bill Charlap’s Jazz in July 92NY series, at Jazz St Louis with Allison MIller, and at The Jazz Gallery in November as well as on the second Artemis album and on Aaron Diehl’s presentation of Mary Lou Williams’ Zodiac Suite—at every opportunity. It was at the Allison Miller gig that I first stayed over for the second set and began my habit of thanking musicians for what they do particularly on the streams.
So having NICOLE GLOVER’s ongoing growth with an equally smart, supple band is a treat. She made a big impression with the Wayne Shorter tribute Palladium and her subsequent late night Smoke gigs with a different trio were fierce and intense. Those players had two settings loud and louder and weren’t particularly subtle. Kayvon Gordon is quite subtle indeed deftly shading the rhythms and Tyrone Allen has a rich bass tone. Together they can whisper and roar. Glover can still pin one’s ears back ferociously and intensely, but she’s also able to develop lines, tonalities, and phrases with grace and breathing room.
This was certainly her first weekend run and probably her first regular (as opposed to late night) sets as a leader. Body and Soul both nights and Monk’s work on Friday were the only familiar standard covers. She/they know the 60s Blue Note and beyond post-bop repertoire so undoubtedly she draws on Joe Henderson, Clifford Jordan, Andrew Hill, and others. In any case, the tunes proceed at actually quite conversational levels—and they have the audience’s full attention. I recall a difficult late night gig where, even roaring, they couldn’t hear themselves.
I don’t have tune names on the whole, but there were some very welcome repeats and, in any case, a remarkable range of music.
I’m loathe to say that any musician, particularly a youngish woman, needs to be ingratiating to the audience. She has previously been reticent to talk, but made a point of introducing the band both at the start of each set and just at the end and dedicating each set to someone, probably a staunch fan and fixture on the scene who has evidently died. Further, she certainly likes her band and, as she was with me, shyly personable with fans. She’s smart, musically and in general, so it’s good to see her having fun. And it’s wonderful to be able to experience the fun they are creating.

Following a rehab by the Durango and Silverton's roundhouse, the Ghost Town and Calico Railroad 41 takes a jaunt on the historic branch of the Denver and Rio Grande. The locomotive, originally built for the D&RG was conveyed to the Rio Grande Southern before the 'Western' was added to the create the Denver and Rio Grande Western. It's unknown if this locomotive ever made it up this branch, but some of its brethren did, most famously when two of its class were destroyed for the movie "Denver and Rio Grande". The 41 left the RGS after abandonment and ended up making right turns at the farm of one Walter Knott to entertain guests waiting to eat at his wife's chicken dinner restaurant. Today, the whole opperation has morphed into the world famous Knott's Berry Farm. The 41 is now back at the farm ready to haul passengers as it has, lovely cared for there for the last 70 years.
