saw carolynn shadas instagram story about family games and it inspired some headcanons here we go

JATPs headcanons in relation to that game where you try and get an oreo from your forehead to your mouth without using your hands:

Reggie: exactly like jeremy shada, attempts to do it super fast but just ends up dropping it over and over again hoping it lands near his mouth, doesn’t stop trying even if everyone else is finished

Alex: he’s just as competitive as the boys but not really a sore loser. he’ll genuinely try very hard but as soon as someone wins he’ll just eat his oreo. it has nothing to do with watching his boyfriends jawline instead

Luke: compete chaos. mans just throws his head forward over and over and attempts to catch the oreo while it’s in midair. his breaks before anyone’s even reaches their nose

Julie: a queen of the oreo game. slow and steady wins the race, except when you’re too slow, she doesn’t like playing against willie

Flynn: is running the game. she’s just filming a whole bunch of chaos to use as blackmail later

Bobby/Trevor: just wants to eat his damn oreo. will try once but as soon as it falls he forfeits

Willie: a true master. he nailed the technique down once when he was 14 and has practiced ever since just for these sorts of games. wins every single time.

Bonus:

Carlos: actually very good at it. competitive with willie who is training him at any given moment.

Ray: bought the oreos and has to clean the carpet

Alex did not get drunk. He got tipsy but he did not get drunk. For reasons. Reasons that he had apparently forgotten last night. Or maybe he just had an inability to say 'no' to Willie, which, in his opinion, was entirely excusable but he still should not have accepted that last cocktail.

But he had. And now he was being haunted by blurry, unfocused memories. Memories that hinted at terrible things.

So the next time he saw Willie, he bypassed any greeting and went straight to: "Okay, so, weird question but did I kiss you last Friday by any chance?"

The words were rushed and came out about an octave higher than his normal voice but at least he got them out at all.

Willie laughed. "Well, I wouldn't exactly call it a 'kiss.' More 'leaning against me with your lips.'"

He winked and wagged his eyebrows and laughed again. None of which made Alex feel any better. So it hadn't even been a good kiss! This was worse. This was definitely so much worse!

"Hey, don't worry about it, man."

"Oh, I'm worrying about it," Alex stated with absolute conviction and Willie laughed again.

"Well, if it helps, I wouldn't say 'no' to you trying again? But maybe sober this time?"

Alex opened his mouth, closed it, and eventually squeaked: "Okay?"

"Okay?"

"I mean, yeah!"

"Okay."

They stared at each other for a long, uncomfortable moment.

"Well, I'm not going first. I embarrassed myself enough last time!"

Willie laughed again and then shrugged. "Okay."

He took a step closer and Alex gulped. When his hands reached for Alex's face, Alex remained stock still so he wouldn't bolt. And then Willie's lips were on his own.

It took a second or two for Alex to trust that this wasn't just a joke and to relax into the kiss but then it was a kiss all right! No 'leaning against each other, lips first.' A true, proper, glorious kiss and when they came out of it, Alex found his hands on Willie's hips and a smile on Willie's face.

"So, that was a kiss," he said, a little dazed.

Willie laughed. "It sure was, hotdog. But if you want to try again ...?"

"Absolutely!"

And this time, Alex had no more qualms about going first.

Willie gets cursed by Caleb and the boys guess that Julie was able to save them because she was who brought them back, so in order to save Willie they have to find whoever brought him back and they spend most of the season looking for this person, but Willie has his hopes on the floor because he's been a ghost since the 80's so chances are high this person is long gone. Alex tries to stay positive for them both but as time starts running out and they still have nothing it becomes harder. Then in the climax, time's up and Alex is holding Willie as he becomes weaker, and before he goes he tells him he loves him and right after the stamp fades away, and there's this realization that Julie herself didn't save the boys, it was her love for them and so what saves Willie is Alex's love for him and oh god them

i was looking through my notes app and found some notes i wrote while reading edge of great (the jatp novelisation) in feburary 2021 so i thought i'd post them bc i miss the time when i was so obsessed with jatp i could quote large parts of it from memory:

okay it's thicker than i expected this is a good start

multiple povs?! oh my god yesyesyes

i've read one page and I'm already loving it because i was expecting it to just be a retelling of the action with barely any insight to characters thoughts other than "i was feeling sad :(" but it's giving so much more than that

the dialogue is slightly different in some places but honestly i don't hate it

okay so i finished it and it was fun to read overall but i felt like past episode 3 was very rushed and condensed (makes sense since episode 3 finished past the half-way point of the book) and it stopped being as well written (barely any internal dialogue and descriptors), and some moments were mischaracterised heavily (including a lot of the willex) and juke just didn't seem developed at all. also i wish reggie had gotten more pov chapters since he's, y'know, a main character. i'm pretty sure he got, like, 2 :( also a lot of the music scenes lacked emotion but since this is an adaptation of something with music without music i'll let it slide. it was still nice to read either way.

A Wilbur x reader blurb

One thing there is to know about Wilbur, is that he writes songs about his crushes. That is the most obvious thing to assume about him. So when he starts writing literal love letters as music, you must confess you get a little jealous. Honestly, not just a little, but he is one of your best friends, so you try to support him as best as you can.

That does not mean you won't figure out who the object of his attraction is though, so sometimes when you hang out you can't keep from asking who his songs are about. Much to your dissapointment, your buddy always gives the same vague answers, and you decide not to press too much into it, choosing to get lost in your delusional daydreams where they would all be about you.

That scenario happened once again today, as you two met up to plan what you'd do in your next streams and plan lore for the Dream SMP, when he asked your opinion on a brand new song he was writing.

As you listened to Wilbur playing an incredibly heartbreaking song, you decided to ask him once again who it was about, though you feared that if he finally told you who it was, you might just die from a broken heart.

You almost gave up asking, but as he finished his song and you looked at his face, you could not help it, you could not bear watching him look so hopeless and sad.

"Wil, who is this song about?" - you asked as you took his hands - "Oh, just unrequited love" - he chuckled sadly, averting his gaze.

Again that response. It was always like this. Your stomach bubbled with rage as you looked at how vulnerable he appeared and sounded, and struggled to imagine how anyone could ever not fall for this man.

"Oh Wil, I'm sure they must like you back! And if they don't, they're a bitch and they don't deserve you" - you fumed, opening your arms as an offer to comfort him - " I sure hope so " he smiled sadly and threw himself onto you as you leaned back on the many pillows and stuffed toys you had gathered.

Wilbur did not tell you about his feelings towards you today, neither did he muster up the courage to kiss you, but at least he got to relish in your cuddles. Platonic cuddles.

He let out a shaky sigh as you buried one hand into his brown curls, scratching his scalp and the other rubbed up and down his back, him wrapping his arms around you. There, in your arms, he would always feel safe, that was something you two had and you would always have. And for now, that was enough.
