Watching House MD as an adult after not having watched it in like 15 years is such a trippy experience because the sexual tension between House and Wilson is crraaaaazyyyyyy

When I first started watching house, I heatd of the c word and thought house said "cunt" on live tv and the only way for him to not get his medical license revoked he would have to follow through on his marriage with Wilson and as time went on I heard that Wilson got cancer. Needless to say, I still thought they were going to have the fake wedding and was completely blindsided by the cancer

Hugh Laurie: Yeah, I would actually love to have House as my doctor. I actually love him as a character so much, and I think he's actually a very sweet, caring person under his rude exterior. I'd love to sit down and have a chat with him.
Robert Sean Leonard: Wilson's a fucking freak and he scares me

Wilson’s face when house says “you can’t keep letting other people define you” and he just bought a piece of furniture only his boy best friend can use because the answer to finding Wilson is House. Saddest wettest puppy.

I definitely think that part of the reason House and Wilson's relationship is so strong and so important to House is because Wilson is one of the few people who doesn't treat him like he's made of glass. He has his caring moments but on a daily he just couldn't give two fucks.
My best friend is disabled and has to walk with a cane? Saw that bitch in half for fun.
He just returned from jail after a psychotic breakdown? Punch him in the face.
He's asking way too many questions about a topic I want to hide from him? Simply outrun him.

I thought y'all were doing the whole "two guys from an old TV show spent a lot of time in the same shot so we headcanon them as gay" thing with House MD. Like I expected to be disappointed but no, if anything the show is SIGNIFICANTLY more gay than I was led to believe. House and Wilson really are in a toxic quasi platonic quasi not relationship that hurts them both that they just cannot let go of without losing an integral part of themselves, meaning they are each the one "stable" point in each other's lives. They enable each other in incredibly fucked up ways. At first glance they seem like the stereotypical "straight laced meets bad boy" but no, one of them dates their dying patients and steals someone's spoon to run it through a cancer test to settle a bet and comes up with clever little manipulative plots to subtly torture the other one in the name of helping them and it is not House.
Also both of them just act a lot more gay than I anticipated. Like House talks a LOT about how pretty Chase is and seems to know the ins and outs of the gay scene really, really well. And Wilsons actions towards House just cannot be explained away platonically, like if that man does not desire House carnally what the actual fuck is he doing. He runs to House when he's getting divorced from his wife even though he could afford a hotel room and then House fucks with him while also trying to trick him into staying and he STILL DOESN'T LEAVE for like another couple of weeks like what kind of insane psychosexual old man yaoi is going on here.
They're both just so fucked up and such terrible people and it is so fascinating.

One of my favourite examples when talking about how well Wilson and House know each other, is the episode where Wilson becomes convinced that House has a gun. The fact that Wilson even knows House has a gun in the first place shows how much they know each other. But in the episode, they both trick each other and Wilson breaks into House's apartment and House tries to stop Wilson, but eventually Wilson outsmarts him and ends up going through House's apartment and everything he owns, all while House is insistent that he does not own a gun.
And then, at the end, Wilson pulls up to House's office, brandishing the gun, going, "Ah ha! I knew it." And House rolls his eyes and tells Wilson it's fake and Wilson doesn't believe him, and House eventually hands him back the gun and tells him to shoot him. So Wilson is standing there holding a gun with House encouraging and trying to goad him into shooting him to prove that it's fake. Eventually, Wilson gives up and gives House back the gun and concedes. And then, at the end, it's revealed that the gun was real, and House's bluff was to try to get Wilson to shoot him with a loaded gun as a way to earn his trust.
This is such a good example because I feel like it wouldn't have worked the way it did with anyone else. House was betting his life on how well he knows Wilson, he was so sure that Wilson wouldn't risk shooting him even with a fake gun, that he handed him a loaded weapon and tried to convince Wilson to shoot him. He only did that because he knew Wilson wouldn't. Wilson, on the other hand, knows House well enough to know that he definitely had a gun, and there was always a chance that it was real even if House said it wasn't. He took the gun with that knowledge and refused to do what House was encouraging him to do. He knew House well enough to know that House knew him well enough that there's a chance he'd pull a bluff like this. And so Wilson didn't risk it. They know each other so well that House can hand a loaded gun to Wilson, convince him it's fake, tell Wilson to shoot him, and then be secure in the knowledge that he's not in danger because Wilson wouldnt do it.
I feel like 90% of the characters would've just shot him because they fell for it and wouldn't have believed House would pull something like that. And I don't think House would've pulled that with anyone but Wilson.
