So I see folks pointing out that Louis' circle A tattoo is more likely an aesthetic choice than an announcement of a political commitment to anarchism, and saying basically that that maybe makes him a bit of a poser and I mean- I GUESS. But I don't like to look at things that way and I don't think it's useful. As I see it the subversive sexiness of the symbols of resistance have ALWAYS been gateways for people who are drawn to the struggle in vague ways and that's GOOD. Aligning yourself with those values is good no matter the reason, in my book, especially given the wretched options available out there, but also the journey doesn't necessarily stop there. Gatekeeping queerness victimizes people who are just trying things out and starting to discover that it may run deeper than just trying on a new look who should instead be welcomed and helped along their path, and I fail to see how gatekeeping political affiliations is any different (plus how counterproductive to actual movement building is that?)

ANYWAY. What I really want to say about Louis is that while I KNOW that Louis is probably not secretly a theory reading anti-state communalist anarchist, I think that actually Louis' optimism and idealism (and his unwavering commitment to allying himself with the working class and embracing those roots) are a perfect fit for the philosophy and always have been. I know that anarchism is mostly understood as being about throwing molotov cocktails and fighting the state (and the allure of its symbols are that they signify this, a terrific aesthetic for him to choose to sign on with in my book), but that's honestly largely cartoonish stereotyping that comes directly from anti-anarchist state propaganda. That resistance is necessary in this hellscape of oppression we live in and is super important, but in its heart anarchism is only about the state in that the state and capitalism currently stands in the way of its goals. The whole point of anarchism is that it's NOT about the state! It's about being able to imagine something better than a state, it's about how we live and about how we SHOULD live, it's about HOPE and picturing something utopian and something free of the ways capitalism pits us against one another! What could be more Louis than that?

"I need you and you need me and I love that" is as beautiful a way of talking about the cornerstone of anarchism that is mutual aid as any long winded essay I've read (even if what he meant was contextually different), and I think when he talks again and again about how special the space fans have made around him is he is expressing an intuitive understanding of the importance of autonomous zones, places and moments outside of the shitty life imposed on us by the system (also a huge part of anarchist thought). Maybe I'm just being an optimist but I think that Louis DOES understand that caring for people and wanting self-determination and freedom for all and allying himself with the working class involves a certain amount of resistance to and positioning yourself in opposition to the state. Thinking the symbols of smashing that state are cool isn't meaningless; it's a CHOICE. There are other cool symbols out there and I just happen to think that feeling a resonance with certain ones is something in and of itself, even if at this moment he does not choose to start a fight with the media about it all.

Please let Kenjaku live

Sukuna is untouchable, elegant, he is Might Makes Right. He is an interesting character, but I feel he’s often given the author’s more monotonous parts of the plot. Sukuna often… brings out the angst in our heroes? Characters who fight Sukuna do it one-on-one to prove a point about their own strength, or be taught about love, or etc etc.

This isn't bad or poorly written, but Yorozu -> Gojo -> Kashimo encompassed several months of Loneliness-Love-Strength talk.

...on the opposite side of the spectrum, characters fight Kenny because they are an evil evil Motherfucker who has to be fucking taken down! Our heroes have to just fucking repeatedly jump Kenjaku because otherwise they will kill everyone for their fun quirky science experiment. Kenjaku revels in making and carrying out evil plans, and whenever they aren’t on-page both the characters and the reader just know they're up to some evil plan shit. It makes every time they appears feel so much more impactful.

Sukuna would’ve had a plan to take out Choso and Yuki. Kenny just waltzed on in ready with a fully-prepared lecture, got their ass beat, and almost died three times. Their fights are a lot scrappier and desperate on both sides because they are not about Strength or Loneliness or Love, they're about Literally How Do We Kill Kenjaku. They is incredibly smart and powerful, how can we use their personality against them?

In the Choso-Yuki fight, you really get the sense that Kenny barely survived due to quick thinking and grit.

Because of all this, the characters’ plan of “Distract Kenjaku with a Shiny New Toy so Yuta can get a cheap shot in” is way more fun (in my opinion) than how they’ve dealt with 10Shadows Sukuna until now. This kind of plot progression is necessary (in my opinion) to keeping me interested in the characters' plan, and right now Kenny, as an antagonist, is just making the protagonist group do more interesting things.

TL;DR I want Kenjaku to win the story please... I want to see their reaction to the merger! And tell Yuji that they are his mother! Sorry Yuta I love you but I hope you get body snatched

Why are people who look at comic books from a “critical real-world lens” so obsessed with identifying the one person who is “100% right”. That doesn’t even exist in the real world.

Lost Days wasn’t made to protest global issues. It is a comic book exploring fictional character Jason’s mental journey after being resurrected and regaining consciousness against his will and/or power. Now how dare this character, in his own story where he has his own personal objective, not go out of his way to make sure each individual child from the collective hundreds he saved from traffickers and the likes gets adopted into nice homes. Obviously we have to disregard any good he did or that he cares at all because all he did was kill the fucker at the top who was responsible. Winick also never fleshed out all 42 of the trafficked children into nuanced characters with their own thoughts and feelings which was apparently neglectful lol.

In regards to utrh, Idk what this person read but there were more drug dealers Jason didn’t kill than those he did. Not once did he ever say he wanted to eliminate the flow of drugs in the community. He took over the trade. Not to mention he explicitly stated control vs elimination is where his goals differed from Bruce’s pipe dream hence why he’s successful and Bruce is still failing. Obviously if you completely misunderstand the character’s motivations you’ll find issues that don’t exist.

People just don’t want stories to be about what they are about, huh.

It's not that I hope the donghua eventually gets dubbed into English for the sake of potentially drawing in more people in. It's that I hope the dubbing is just really bad. Because I just kinda think that's what scum villain deserves. That show literally fell apart and all but melted to sludge by episode 6ish. It's fascinating. I can tell they changed out staff just by the storyboarding. There is so much wrong with it. I love explaining it to my fellow animator buddies.

So yeah I want the dub to suck ass but not in a do bad its unwatchable way.

No I basically want the servamp dub (I don't even like servamp but oh the dub) where Keith Silverstien is playing multiple main characters and not even trying to hide it and where everyone kinda says all the dialogue like they're adults who hate their lives on those weird VHS tapes that are like children education psa.

Like it is both what it deserves and what I expect. Because I cant see any company buying the license to scum villain unless it came in a pack ala ghost stories or how 4kids initially got their hands on one piece. And I expect this simply because the show just is not good on its own. It's been out for years and literally no company has really made a move to buy the rights. And like its just not a hot property in the first place.

If it ends up anywhere other than roku I suspect Netflix. But you wont even get a notification and I half expect something to be wrong with the subs or the summary.

Just... I want shen qingqiu's English VA to be playing all but like 3 characters and one of them is Binghe and he's like slightly pinching his nose or kinda muppetting for that one. I think it be very funny.

Alternatively I'll accept a slayers situation where like binghe's VA just inexplicably changes at episode 3 and he's still there just playing only doing background VAS. Also only 2 girl voices. Whole show. All girls are played by 2 ladies who sound the same but just distinct enough. That's my dream dub.
