I’ll say it.
Imposter sagau is just a knockoff version of Windtrace.
Now imagine how much easier life would be if you were being hunted by all of Teyvat and had the ability to disguise yourself as random ordinary objects like a chair or a tree. It would make a normally life-threatening situation absolutely hilarious in my opinion.
Anyway this is my first time playing Windtrace and I am having so much fun with it, I wish Hoyoverse would make it a permanent mini game for you to play all the time, even though I absolutely suck at being a hunter.

Part 2 of my kazuscara moments in Windtrace!
Link to Part 1
This was when I was Scara as a Hunter and a Rebel Kazuha stole my Favor and began to tease me afterwards by putting fake props in front of me. 😭
I got a new drawing tablet recently so this is the very first time I drew a comic like this with a pen!
Also I recall hearing Zhongli's "Osmanthus wine" quote when time was almost up. The humiliation that my Scara went through 🫠 Here's the clip showing how Kazuha stole the Favor. 😂

Wind traces to the Kamisato's
— Paring: Kamisato Ayato x Reader
— Characters: Kamisato Ayato, Kamisato Ayaka, Thoma
— Tags: short, event, fluff
— Summary: Windtrace has arrived in Inazuma! Together with the Kamisato's clan members, you started the game and found out a sweet surprise prize for yourself afterwards.
— Word count: 1779
-----------------------------------------------
— Masterlist
— Ao3
— Hoyolab
-----------------------------------------------
You had accepted Lady Ayaka's invitation to spend a few days at Kamisato Estate. She was quite interested in hearing about the unique festivals you had attended or the culture of other kingdoms. Especially this particular folk game in Mondstadt.
"How about a round of Windtrace?" Ayaka enthusiastically offered once you explained the game to her. "It's quite spacious around here, we can hide anywhere. Thoma can join us in the game."
"Yes. Seeing as you're so interested, let's play a few games. But, who's going to be the Hunter?"
Ayaka flipped her fan, pondered for a long time, then replied:
"It's too simple if we know who the Hunter is and who the Rebels are. We may add a little twist by lucky draws. Only the individual who pulls the Hunter card is aware that the other players are Rebels. What are your thoughts?"
"That sounds fascinating!"
Your acceptance brightened Ayaka's face. When Thoma went by, he immediately joined the squad to learn this new game from the land of the winds. Following that, all three of you would prepare for the game. This game appeared to have been brought to Inazuma after the lockdown was removed, therefore gathering the necessary things to set up for it was simple.
Ayaka arrived that evening with three identical large brocade bags. She stated:
"In each of these bags are items dedicated to Hunters and Rebels. Early tomorrow morning we'll randomly take one bag each. The game will begin shortly thereafter. Remember, we have no idea who will play which role; we only recognize each other by the thin piece of fabric wrapped around our arms. Blue represents the Rebels, whereas red represents the Hunter."
Thoma and you both paid close attention to the Lady of Kamisato Clan's presentation. Even though she's just starting out, she's more dedicated about this game than you were.
Thoma spoke up:
"Milady, what will the winner be rewarded with?"
Ayaka chuckled:
"The victor will have the opportunity to request a favor from the losing side. As long as it's not too excessive."
What a tempting prize. Everyone in Inazuma would only dare to dream of being able to make the Lady of Kamisato Clan do them a favor. Thoma felt the same way. He scratched his head and grinned.
So, your game has begun like that. When the sun rose the very next day, you went to the rendezvous and only saw two bags on the table. After a moment of decision, you picked up one bag and took it back to your room.
Even though you had played this game many times, you still could not help but be nervous when you opened the bag. Inside there was a small piece of blue fabric along with some other items for the Rebels. When you finished equipping, the bell from the great hall rang, indicating the start of the game.
You crept out into the backyard and remained there for a bit before moving. The surrounding area was deserted. You knew you could not trust anyone in this survival game. Both Ayaka and Thoma might be the Hunter.
You moved softly and delicately, like a tiny garden cat. The little dot on your minimap that indicated the Hunter suddenly lit up.  You quickly grabbed your Disguise from the bag and poof! You were transformed into a wooden wine barrel.
The wooden barrel in the middle of the yard was just too obvious. You moved into the corner, but being within the wooden container made every movement awkward. You staggered and collapsed, forcing yourself to tumble into the corner dizzy.
“Ouch!”
There was a soft cry. It was Ayaka's voice.
"Y/N! Is that you?"
You had a look around. The talking stack of straw must be Ayaka. At the very least, she was on your side.
You bid farewell to Ayaka and turned in the other direction. To move faster, and since you were already out of the danger zone,  you took off your Disguise. Walking for a while without seeing anyone, not even servants or guards, you thought you had lost your way in the maze of the Kamisato Estate.
At that point, your map indicated that the Hunter was approaching again. You quickly slid it into your bag and slipped into one of the half-open rooms in that hallway.
You heard footsteps on the hardwood floor. Your hand found the second Disguise item in your bag and did not hesitate to use it as soon as the creak on the floor became more noticeable.
This time, you were transformed into a maneki neko. When this game arrived in Inazuma, it must have been modified to fit the local culture. You giggled as you noticed your cat's arm bobbing up and down, precisely like the cats at Inazuma's booths.
A few rooms away, the sound of footsteps came to a halt. But then you heard another, quieter and slower. You found yourself raised aloft, your wavering arm inadvertently brushing someone's nose.
"Interesting."
You knew this voice, this face. It was the leader of the clan, Kamisato Ayato.
He smiled and watched you in the cat form. And you didn't dare to take deep breaths for fear of being discovered. Ayato was most likely unaware of your game. He appeared to have just awoken, since the room was dim and Ayato was dressed in only a blue yukata that was darker in color than his hair. He took you inside and placed it on the table, where his cup of tea was still steaming.
Ayato lifted the cup of tea in his hand and had just taken a sip when Thoma skimmed over.
"Waka... Waka-sama?"
"What's the matter, Thoma?"
"Nothing..." Thoma replied humbly. "Lady Ayaka, Y/N and I are playing a game... Forgive me if I woke you up."
"Don't be concerned." Ayato replied calmly. "Anyway, it's past time for me to get up. I assume my breakfast will be served after your game?"
"Certainly..." Thoma responded with a nod. "But... Did you have a chance to notice Lady Ayaka or Y/N?"
Ayato's gaze, which you couldn't tell if it was accidental or intended, was drawn to you - the maneki neko on the table. He then grinned.
"This morning, I did find some fascinating stuff. But I did not see Ayaka or Y/N anywhere."
"Oh?" Thoma was ready to go when he was delayed by the cat on his master's desk. "Wait. The maneki neko… I didn't notice this thing here yesterday..."
Ayato, in a most natural manner, lifted you up and cradled you in his arms. You were both panicked and embarrassed at the same time, fearful that your face masquerading as a cat would turn red!
"This was a surprise gift for me this morning." Ayato responded, "I've been feeling as if good fortunes have been coming to my door lately."
Your maneki neko's arm constantly collided with the arm that was holding you. Ayato didn't mind and instead rubbed your head tenderly, like if you were a real cat.
"Ah... of course... I apologize for disturbing you, waka-sama.”
Thoma finished speaking and hesitantly walked away. The game would be over in a while when the second bell rang. You exhaled in relief having narrowly escaped the Hunter. But it was that breathing that denounced you in front of Ayato. He stared at you, eyebrows furrowed.
 "He's gone."
You used all your strength to break free from Ayato's grasp and removed your Disguise, reverting to your original self. He wasn't startled;  on the contrary, he laughed. That made you even more embarrassed than ever at the thought of being in his lap just now.
"A-Ayato..." You spoke. He listened patiently. "Um... My apologies for that! I didn't realize I had entered your room since I was so eager to find a spot to hide..."
"There are no troubles. I've found your maneki neko disguise so adorable. Perhaps I should have one like that made for good luck?"
Your cheeks rose swiftly in response to Ayato's half-joking gaze. You said:
"Thank you for helping me escape... Now, I don't dare bother the Kamisato Clan's leader anymore. I'll leave right away..."
With that said, you turned away. But Ayato grabbed your wrist and took you by surprise.
"Forgive me, I'm not going to let you go anywhere."
You rolled your eyes in surprise. Before you could question why, his yukata sleeve was pulled up, revealing a piece of red fabric tied neatly around his wrist right next to your hand.
Ayato was the Hunter.
A blue light filled the room, your body became motionless in an instant. Ayato rose up, removing the blue fabric from your arm with a triumphant expression.
"I was about to finish my cup of tea and start hunting for you. Nonetheless, you made your way to me."
It couldn't be! The game appeared to have only three players: you, Ayaka, and Thoma.
As he noticed your bewildered expression, Ayato grinned.
"I too wanted to join your game, but I couldn't tell you about it since I got home too late yesterday. I could only take part in secret."
"But I only saw three bags there?"
"That's correct. And they were all Rebels’." Ayato elaborated. “The Hunter’s bag was taken away to my room when everyone was asleep.”
"That's cheating!" You yelled angrily even though your body hadn't moved yet. That was one of the rules of the game. Rebels when captured would remain motionless until the game was over.
"Perhaps it is. But I don't mind cheating, as long as I can catch you."
Ayato crouched close to you. Your heart was pounding and you're worried he would hear it at this close distance.
You hurriedly closed your eyes as Ayato's face drew closer. Did he want your favor for being captured now? It was not fair! But you also got a little excited at the thought of what Ayato was about to do...
Ayato placed a hand on the top of your head and gently caressed it, laughing:
"You should not trust someone so easily like this next time. You should be on the lookout for even those you think are the most innocent."
You opened your eyes slightly. If it weren't for being motionless, you might have stared up at Ayato at this intimate distance. But then he stepped back, a devious grin on his face.
"Please remain here for a while while I go catch the other two Rebels. This is the game I do not intend to lose."
Ayato departed the room, leaving you all alone, already lost but immensely happy.

i see your fatui harbingers headcanons and would like to ask - do you have some for them playing windtrace? i got into playing it and its really fun
Oooh yes!!!
Pierro: he’s so bad at it. He always gets caught as a rebel, and he doesn’t know how to work the controls as a hunter. Certified old man moment lmao
Capitano: bad at being a rebel, shockingly good at being a hunter. Mf will capture people SO fast. Nobody lasts more than a minute, so everyone hates playing with him.
Dottore: he doesn’t like playing, but he loves watching people play. He calls it a “social experiment.” If he’s forced to play, he makes a great rebel. The only one who can catch him is Scaramouche.
Columbina: the best rebel by far. Literally nobody can catch her. Surprisingly good at being a hunter too. She won her first game as hunter so fast 😭😭😭 everyone is scared to get her as hunter.
Arlecchino: HATES playing. She thinks it’s “childish.” She’ll play if forced tho, and she usually does pretty well as hunter and rebel. She hates playing with Childe tho, and tries her damn hardest to make him lose no matter what. She fails.
Pulcinella: another certified old man. People let him win as a hunter sometimes, just to make him feel better. He knows this, and he sends them on really shitty missions as punishment. No mercy :)
Scaramouche: has to be forced to play, but he will do everything in his power to piss people off when he does play. He hides in the stupidest places and always manages to grab the favor first as a rebel, and he targets Dottore and Childe as hunter. Everyone hates him.
Sandrone: oh she ALWAYS targets Childe. She somehow always knows where he is (she cheats). She’s ruthless as a hunter, and while she may not always win, it’s always a struggle to escape her. Not as good at being a rebel tho. She never picks good hiding spots.
Signora: girlie is also a boomer 😭 she doesn’t know how to work the controls, and she refuses to learn. She will stand out in the open as a rebel, but she threatens to burn or freeze whoever dares to come near her. She doesn’t do well as a hunter, but she will manage to capture at least one person without threatening them.
Pantalone: oh he’s shit at it. He’s SO bad 😭😭😭😭. Mf will accidentally let go of his disguise and fall out of wherever he was trying to hide. As a hunter, he’s bad too. He’s such a dumbass. He tries to bribe people into letting him win, but it never works (unless it’s Dottore or Sandrone, they really want research money)
Tartaglia: terrible at being a rebel, but FANTASTIC at being hunter. Like he’s by far the best hunter out of all of them. If cap can get it done in under a minute, nobody lasts longer than 30 seconds for Childe. He looks like a damn maniac playing too, evilly laughing as he mows down all the harbingers. Even if they try their hardest to make him lose, HE WILL WIN.

Diluc, laying in bed at 7am, suddenly waking up to the sound of panicked screaming, laughing, and the sight of some random exorcist with a popsicle in hand desperately clinging to his bedroom window while making a 'shhh' hand signal at him: "....*sigh* Looks like windtrace is back in town."

To the Tartaglia who dared me to not capture him in Windtrace and proceeded to just sit on a chair while watching me catch the other two and then just chilled while I sat next to him. You’re a chad.

Read from RIGHT to LEFT
So I had some Kazuscara moments in Windtrace during Christmas last year and this was one of them.
I was Kazuha and I didn't notice that the Scara rebel decided to hide right next to me, until we both got caught at the same time. Did he secretly hid next to me on purpose? 🤨
Anyway, the Kaeya rebel was left on his own and was like “Did yall hide together?”
I wanted to make a comic of this back then, but I didn’t have the confidence. I finally did it now! 😊
