Frank! fantasy flavor!

rambles:

i really wanted to blend that monk-class inspiration w/ Frank's personal vibe... i like to think that i Succeeded!

i turned his tie into a sort of brooch since, yk. bowties aren't all that Fantastical. they miss the style. also i think they'd be more comfortable with something smaller since he's very active and needs a wide range of maneuverability

i bet Eddie or someone wheedled them into adding the leather shoulder pauldrons - leather to keep it a bit more flexy, and also. it just looks Cool!

figuring out what would replace his vest was tough. i didn't want them to be entirely unprotected, but i couldn't give him straight armor. though i will admit! a sort of tight-fitting crop top was Considered! but i landed on a gambeson vest as the best fit - comfortable, flexible, a Vest, while providing some level of protection! also, gambesons are quilted, which fits Frank's diamond-checkered vest!

ive already mentioned that one of my favorite outfit things is Flowy Pants Tucked Into Boots, so... that choice wasn't very character driven. except the boots are a tall ankle wrap - for that extra stability and strength! their shoes are pretty flexible and are only a few steps away from being slippers.

and the half-skirt - open skirt? - thing (still don't know what its called) is purely some self indulgence. i think Frank looks great in skirts!! also imagining him Throwing Down w/ the added flair of the skirt... damn. it'd probably help confuse enemies too - what're they gonna do next? who knows! the skirt is in the way and adding extra Movement!

i like to think that his knife is either in a sheath attached to the back of the belt, or they have it on their thigh (under the skirt) like Wally's bag. he probably never uses it... punching is the way to go for Frank methinks. it's probably reserved for cutting ropes and fruit

speaking of punching.... wrist wraps! inspired by boxing gauze! pads his knuckles, keeps his wrist compressed, its the best choice for physical combat. though the wrapped knuckles probably always have blood showing through anyway... or no yeah it's mostly other people's blood...

as for scars - Frank probably has quite the collection! i imagine that they've been picking fights since a young age, and in such a dangerous world he probably got hit a Lot until they learned how to hit back. and hit back Well. still, i wanted to give him a cool face scar with a very lame backstory - a book with a crisp, sharp spine corner fell off a high shelf and bonked them in the face at juuuust the right angle <3 he probably stays very fucking quiet about it which makes everyone think there's some intense traumatic backstory behind it. there isn't. Frank's just embarrassed.

it might not be visible in this but integra and alucard both wear red ribbons as hair tie

seras eyes’ colours are corresponding to alucard and integra’s eyes colours, they are on the right side and left side of seras, the angel and the devil on her shoulder

Because she is a nephilim, not a fully transformed angel, seras can only open one wing on her right side

Integra dressed as a nun of the church to avoid uncovering the existence of supernatural force to humans. She have human disguise to avoid hurting humans because her angel form is incomprehensible to humans.

The design of the Iscariots are not finished yet, but here’s yumikel. In this AU, enrico is an occultist and he’s the only human in the Iscariot team. Yumie is the “released restriction 0” form of yumiko.

yumiko have two coloured gloves, the black gloves represent yumie is the hand shes using for wielding the katana

another thing about heinkel as a werewolf, she cannot take full control over her werewolf form when she’s too excited, and her ears and tail often slip out when she is near yumi (both yumiko and yumie)

werewolf heal faster than human but is not regenerating like vampire so heinkel still have scars and most prominent is the scar on the sides of her face because she rip the skin there open everytime she shift halfway.

Hake is an adult Silk/Sea hybrid who never metamorphosed on account of him being a hybrid. Instead of smooth, his silk is razor sharp and he uses it as a weapon.

Him using it as a weapon landed him in prison where he holds a high position of power because he doesn’t let anyone push him around.

An old battle worn warrior having served along side Battlewinner herself, finds herself finally with an egg of her own. Not wanting the dragonet to grow up in a crumbling home, she leaves as the backup dragonets of destiny arrive. She flies across the ocean with her egg and a strange egg mastermind was experimenting on. Reaching a cave in the shear cliff side on the edge of skywing territory she makes a home for her new, hopefully two, little dragonets.

Ripple, a water strider oc for @missterious-figure ’s swamp things au [please check out them and the au]

While doing this, I did some research on water striders and found out that they have a really fascinating (and a tad disturbing) strategy for mating. Female water striders have a genital shield so basically they can stop any sexual advances from males if they don’t want to pair with the one trying to initiate— however, males figured out how to get around that. Basically, since when a male mounts a female it comes from above, the female will be more susceptible to attacks from below in the water. The male will tap the surface of the water, intentionally trying to draw predators, and since the female is on the water, she will be more likely to be harmed if a fish or whatnot tries to attack. The more you know.

Anyway, I spend most of the afternoon making this fella 😭

From Marriage of State AU

Fwhip doesn’t so much push the curtain over the doorway of the tent open as he falls through it. Jimmy watches him make his unsteady way towards him with bleary eyes, not budging an inch from his precarious lean against the cot beside him.

Somehow, miraculously, Fwhip manages to make it over to the corner Jimmy is sat in without stepping on anyone’s wings. Which given the three pairs spread across almost the entire interior (because Joey had crammed himself onto Xornoth’s cot and refuses to budge) and Fwhip’s frequent stumbles is probably due more to luck than skill.

Fwhip drops into the rough wooden camp chair that had been provided for Jimmy with a hefty sigh and tips his head back, eyes closed, freckles standing out stark against his fish-belly pale skin. Jimmy can’t help but eye the ridge of his throat and think of how it would feel, crushed in his claws-

Beneath the bandages, his hand flexes, the muted pain of the scorched and torn webbing flaring sharp at the movement.

“How’s he?”

Jimmy blinks, processing the Grim Count’s question, the Mythlandic slow to make sense in his exhausted mind.

His eyes turn back to the still figure, laid out on his front on the bed, singed and battered wings spread.

He opens his mouth to speak and his voice first comes out as a croak, like a frog caught in a mangrove root. He swallows, licks his dried out lips (how long has he been sitting here?) and tries again.

“No change. The healers say we’ll know soon. He will either wake up or-“ he trails off, unable to say it out loud. “Both of them. By morning most like.”

Fwhip just grunts in acknowledgement. Jimmy can’t even gather enough energy to reach across to his mask and pull it closer to himself and further from Fwhip. Every bone in his body feels as heavy as the gold of Scott’s dowry. If he stepped into water he thinks he’d sink.

“How is Gem?”

Fwhip grunts again, he doesn’t move but he does open his eyes. His goggles are gone. Jimmy isn’t sure when he’d lost them. “She’s locked herself into a room with the Ender Dragon egg and kicked me out. She said I’m hovering.”

“Isn’t she-“

“Supposed to be in bed?” Fwhip snorts and rolls his head to the side to look Jimmy in the eye. “Yep. She kicked Sausage’s knee in to distract the healer and made a break for it.”

Jimmy winces in sympathy. Even if Sausage kind of deserves it. In his totally not biased opinion.

How often has Alphys caught Blue or otherwise called him out on keeping secrets?

Actually caught him, I’d say a handful of times. Not super common, and the first few are really the only ones that Blue was like “oh shit” about lmao. She’s a smart cookie! It’d be weirder if it never happened. (Un)fortunately, her noticing is an easy fix. Just need a new Reset.

Calling him out, though, that happens a lot more: from little comments here and there that make him sweat, to full on asking him wtf is happening. Just depends on how well he was hiding his stress and “uncharacteristic” behaviors! Blue’s learned to talk his way around a lot of it without majorly concerning her, though. XD
