This is my new favorite gif of Kara
Not my gif*
All you remembered was seeing an unfamiliar planet, somewhere you didn't want to call home, ever.
Now somewhere in a grassy field, you sat unconscious, in the pod that saved you from death, while your home planet was destroyed a long time ago. You, while fleeing your home planet, followed another pod into the phantom zone, and stayed there long after it had gone. Left all alone, for so long, just like you had been before, left in the silence of space...
 ---
"Supergirl, we just need you to check it out." J'onn told Kara, as the Kryptonians sister, adding her opinion.
“We haven’t even classified it as a threat,” Alex said, warning her sister to not be aggressive, and Kara turned to leave but was stopped by J’onn.
“Oh, one more thing,” J’onn turned to address the Kryptonian. “We believe it to be Kryptonian.” The blonde froze for a moment and then turned towards the sky and flew away. Kara's mind was racing as her sister got on comms and gave her a location
“You be careful,” Alex said typing something into the computer and added in a whisper “-especially if they really are Kryptonian...”
---
You felt funny, a good funny, but it was- The feeling was so difficult to describe, almost like your whole body felt the happiness in your heart, but you weren’t particularly happy, your body was tingling in excitement though.
Feeling strong, feeling like you could do more than just sit around, you were getting used to the feeling of safety and strength rolling over you, when a shadow came out in front of your eye line and your eyelids peeled open, right as the top hatch of the pod, you were sitting in, came off and with it, a million different noises filled your head, making it feel like it was about to explode, as the feeling of safety went right out the pod. You screamed.
“I’m not here to harm you.” Said a strange voice in a familiar tongue. “Will you let me help you?” The same voice said again, it rang in your ears, and it fought very hard to stay at the forefront among all the strange, foreign noises trying to invade your thoughts. You looked up and saw a man with, jet black, almost dark blue hair, a red sheet swaying in the wind, attached at his shoulders, and a respected glyph laid upon his chest.
“Who are you?” You're not sure where you are or who is talking to you, the only thing that makes you feel a little bit better, is that he is speaking your language. “Where am I?” You asked the man in Kryptonese.
“You are on Earth.” He starts calmly, waiting a moment before proceeding, being careful to keep his distance. “What’s your name? I am Kal-el.” He smiles softly at you, speaking slowly.
“Earth…?” A weight fell in your heart, and a sudden sadness flowed through you, forgetting about the fear of your safety on this Planet. “Where is Krypton, Kal-el?” You asked, sadness in your voice without fully registering your thoughts.
Clark gulped, “I’m sorry, it’s all gone.” His words broke your already shattered heart, and for a moment all the thoughts and noise went away, silence was the only thing you could hear, before unconsciously speaking again.
“Where did it all go?” You asked the brave man, innocently. Kal-el couldn’t be the one to tell you, the pod crystal would explain it all to you in time.
“That is for you to figure out.” You nod your head at his words, there was somewhere in his voice that felt safe, felt trusting, it reminded you of home. You looked up and he held out his hand for you, pulling you out of the still smoking pod that carried you here, to Earth. The ground beneath you, felt so different under your shoes from how Krypton had, well from what you can remember of your former home.
“Clark?” Another voice said in the distance, not far from where you and Kal-el stood.
“It’s Kal-el here, Kara.” He held your hand lightly in the air.
“Ah,” Kara paused when she finally looked at you, knowing you couldn’t have been older than 15.“What’s your name..?” Kara asked you, resting her arms at either side of her suit.
The new girl had yellow hair, the same red sheet, and the same house glyph resting on the same blue as Kal-el, you now understood that she was trustworthy, if Kal-el knew her.
“My name is Y/n. Daughter of the House of Y/l/n.” You said, finally answering Kal-el’s long forgotten question.
”I am Kara, from the House of El, same as Kal-el, here.” She smiled tenderly at you.
“Brother and sister?” You asked, just as curious as you sounded, brow furrowed in confusion.
“Cousins!” Kal-el gives a laugh, as Kara walks closer to the both of you. Kara gives you another smile and turns to her cousin, speaking in a language you had forgotten was stored in your memory.
“Alex wants me to take her in, just to watch her for now. Make sure she’s safe.”
“Are you sure? The farm could always use another pair of hands.”
“Yeah,” Kara reassured him. “I don’t want something to happen, and I mean- I am stronger,” Kara smirks at her cousin in a serious moment.
“Yeah, yeah..” Clark shook his head in a playful annoyance. Kal-el turns back to you saying, “Y/n, you will go with Kara,” You take a step back, taking your hand away from Kal-el’s.
“We don’t want to hurt you, just to keep you safe.” Kara says quickly.
“This planet has people that can hurt you, but me and Kara are going to watch out for you.” Kal-el added to Kara’s statement.
“No harm will be done to you, Y/n. I promise, can you trust us?”
---
3 hours later
You sat on the ground, in a cell, with a tear-stained face, wishing Kal-el were here and that the horrible ringing in your ears from the silence would go away, with a sleeve of your Kryptonian clothes tasered off at a weird angle, letting your forearm show.
Kara was stressed out and you hadn't even been here for a day yet. Alex was dealing with the agents that had accidentally scared you. And you apologized in English over and over again, hoping that it would help.
Before J’onn or Alex even had a say, you were put in a cell by three other agents that were able to get you to calm down enough and left you all alone, freaking you out in doing so. When you heard the airlock seal and everything went silent, your head wasn’t so filled with noise anymore, but you felt as if your strength had been taken from you. The only thing you could hear was your breathing, before the bang of the door at the other side of the big room startled you, and just like that, you were all alone again. You didn’t even notice the green lights turn on until you couldn’t take the silence much longer.
Kara had been out for maybe an hour to go to CatCo and talk with a source about her current article, while you stayed at the DEO, in a cell, under green lights that made every part of your skin hurt, when Kara got a phone call and flew to the DEO with anger flowing through her veins.
“You put her in a cell?!” She shouted across the room. Startling most of the agents and making Winn wince in his seat.
“Supergirl, you need to know the whole story,” J’onn tried reasoning with The Girl of Steel.
“Don’t.” She cuts him off aggressively, walking up to main console area. “I told her she would be safe here. Not locked up for something she can’t control!” The Girl of Steel throws her arms in the air, out of anger.
“I’m not saying she should stay in the cell, but Kara,” Alex tried to reason with her sister. “she doesn’t have her powers under control at all.” Supergirl gives her sister an annoyed glance before saying anything.
“I wasn’t put in a cell when I got here, now was I?” She points the question to her superiors, who stay quiet.
“Where is she?” Alex takes a breath and leads Supergirl, silently, to your cell. Alex opened the door for her sister. Kara, being angry, and knowing what it was like to feel trapped, she couldn’t imagine what Y/n was feeling. She immediately opened your cell door.
“Y/n, come with me.” You shook your head at Kara’s words, trying to move away from the door, as you feel your strength start to creep back in.
“No. I hurt them. I don’t want to hurt the Humans.” You said trying to keep yourself from crying. Kara’s expression softened and walked towards you slowly.
“It wasn’t your-” Kara’s gaze shifted upwards, slightly feeling the posion from the green lights shining down on you. “Fault…” A new fueled rage filled with shock flowed through Kara. You didn’t notice Kara’s findings, but Alex did.
“Kara…” Alex put her hand over her mouth in horror, not aware of this till now. You weren’t listening to the agents, only could tell they were yelling at one another. All you knew was that of course you didn’t mean to but it was your fault.
“It wasn’t her fault!” Kara shouts at her sister, cutting the conversation to a close.
“Nothing seems to be my fault but look at what happened, before I got here everything was in perfect order.” You finally gave in to your tears and stuffed your face into your knees. Kara heard you, turning instantly, and took in the scene of you crying, underneath the kryptonite, pulled into a ball, she was almost brought to tears herself.
“Hey, Y/n, look at me..” Kara stepped forward, crouching down to be near you. “I promise you that things were never in perfect order since Kal-el and I got here a long time ago. Everything will be alright, just need some time to- Re-adjust, okay.” She smiles at you, as you lift your head slowly and nod, wiping your remaining tears away.
“Today I will teach you how to control your powers, but that also means being able to control your emotions too, think you can handle that?” You gave her a more confident nod. Supergirl walked out of the cell and you slowly followed, looking away from Alex, as you walked by, and out the door, following the red cape down the hall.
---
Two weeks later
“Y/n, Kara is going to be taking you with her today!” Alex said walking into the Med bay and over to the bed you sat upon.
“Where will we be going?” You sat on the bed uninjured in any way.
“You will have to ask her, I bet it’ll be a fun day!” You smiled slightly at the agent’s words.
“Will I get to see Earth, now?” Alex smiles, as she checks your last blood sample.
“Yes, and don’t worry you’ll get to see more and more with time.” You and Alex both, quickly, turn your heads toward the door; shouting coming from outside the room.
“You should understand that I am trying to keep my country safe, and without rules for the-” The door shut closed, as you and Alex both heard General Lane’s voice, booming from the level below both of you being cut off from the, now closed door.
You felt a ping of guilt flow through you, the General, that anger you heard from him was because of your presence, you knew it so.
“Kara, should be here soon.” Alex said, going back to her work, silently.
You had learned in the last two weeks that your being here had caused a lot more problems than anticipated, you had been told multiple times by Alex and Kara and some computer nerd, that you were not the problem, and that this was none of your fault. You were sure that it was your fault, but you wouldn’t let them know that. You knew they were trying to fix it.
Kara slipped in through the door letting a few booming words get past the doorway and closed it immediately.
“I’m here!” She smiled across the serious room.
While kara was all smiles, you could only think of how this was all your fault but you couldn’t do anything to fix it, you didn't have a clue where to start if you were to fix things.
“Are they still arguing…?” You asked, staring blankly at her. Kara nodded her head guiltily, and you rested your head in your hands, feeling defeated.
“Hey, let's get going, we're gonna have so much fun, today!” Kara put her hands on your forearms, and wiggled them gently, making you look up at her, while she tried to cheer you up.
---
The shirt felt weird, and the the sweater was going to make you suffocate. Anyways, you walked out to show Kara.
"Wow- Are you okay?" Kara asked when she noticed you're stressed face, and you shook your head.
"It's too tight." Kara rushed over and pulled the sweater off you, then giving you different clothes of hers to try on.
You weren’t sure how the other Kryptonian wore this every day, it felt like you would melt with, pants, a button-up shirt, and a sweater that made it feel like you had flown too close to the sun with Icarus.
“How- How do you wear this?” Kara chuckled at your question and walked over to you.
“If you're hot, you could try it without the sweater?” You nod in a hurry and she pulls it over your head, then putting it away as you speak.
“Do you have a breakfast?”
“Do I have a-” Kara started to repeat your question, before she realized what you were asking. “Yes, I do! Do you like pancakes?” Your face lit up with excitement, shouting,
“PANCAKES?!” Making Kara jump a little, but smile all in all at your excitement. “I love pancakes, so much” You sat down smiling, happily awaiting your pancakes.
-
“Okay, last thing is glasses.” Kara moved over to her bed, after cleaning up breakfast.
“Oh, that’s okay Kara, my eyesight is perfectly fine. I can even see through walls.” You took a bite of pancake.
“No, it’s not for your eyesight-”
“Are they spy glasses then?” You cut her off with your curiosity and a mouthful of pancakes.
“No, let me finish this time.” She gave you a strict look.
“Right, sorry.”
“Thank you. The glasses are for hiding your identity, so then if you ever want to be a superhero like me, no one will tell the difference between you and your superhero counterpart.” There was an awkward silence between the two of you for a moment.
“Can I talk now?” You asked innocently.
“Yes.” Kara breathed out, trying to hide her smile from how wholesome you were.
-
You touched down unsteadily on the concrete ground, wearing some of Kara’s clothes and a rain jacket, even when it was nowhere close to raining, with nice clear blue skies, but Kara wanted to make sure you wouldn't be cold. The dark color of your jacket was a large contrast from your lighter shirt and jeans, making you pop from the dimness of the backstreet you now stood in.
Your eyes scanned everything, the grove in the rocks, small piles of trash scattered around, a tattered, worn, pink couch that you knew wasn’t top of the line but was more comfortable than most, the steam coming from a mysterious place in the wall, the little pieces of grass swaying in the wind that blew by you invisibly and all the different textures of dirt, bricks and the fresh sounds that came with this brand new location on Earth.
“Come on, Y/n/n.” Kara gestured for you to follow her out towards the world, with tall buildings all around, the part of the world that was much more colorful, and warmer feeling, than this place, far from this place in between two large bricks..
To Kara this part of the world was always more chaotic, more noisy, more littered with people, more enemies around, and more threats. But to you, it was the best most exciting, most-
“What’s this?” Had been your question of the day, wanting to know the answer to all the different objects you had encountered, big or small, yearning to know what they were, why they looked like that, and how they worked. Even trying to go and touch a snake you found before being hissed at and scared out of your mind by its aggressiveness. All you wanted was to pet it.
“That’s a pen, Y/n.” Kara said, taking no more than 5 seconds, away from her coffee, to see what you were holding up and noticing the confusion plastered on your face.
“What is its function, though?” You examined the pen closely, not sure what it could be, while Kara moved all her things into one hand and looked over at you.
“It holds thoughts on paper.” She took it from your hands, and you almost grabbed it back, but waited, hoping she would read your mind. She uncapped the pen, writing out both your names on a paper she needed for work, while you stared in awe, but that was soon interrupted by a shout, as the elevator doors opened.
"Keriaaa!" Cat yelled for what seemed like the millionth time, before walking out of her office, hands on her hip, as Kara ran in, with you behind her.
"Miss Grant! I am so sorry, It will nev-".
"Who," Kara was cut off by Cat "is that, keria?"
She looked at you, suspiciously with a pointed finger. Kara hadn't thought about having to explain to Miss Grant about your being here.
"Y/n? She- uh-" Kara couldn't think. You poked out from behind the older Kryptonian and greeted Miss Grant with a small smile and a wave.
"Hello!" You didn't know she was supposed to be intimidating or a big respected news lady, not that you knew what the news was, to you she was just another regular Kryptonian, but this Krypton didn't have flying cars or anyone speaking Kryptonese and the clothing choices were very different, and no else could fly around like you could, so it wasn't really Krypton, but you didn't know anything else. Not until the DEO had told you everything you knew so far about this planet, which wasn't very much.
"Cousin! She's my cousin. Y/n is. My Foster Mom's, sister's daughter." Your face scrunches in confusion.
"I'm actually-" Kara swung her arm over your shoulder, bring you into a side hug.
"Hanging with me for a little while, for a visit, we don't see each other much." Kara pauses for a moment, "and my-".
"Keria." Cat said curtly as she nursed her newest headache "All this nonsense is making my head hurt, and all without my coffee." Kara hands the coffee over awkwardly and pulls you out of the room.
"Have I been calling you the wrong name this whole time?" Kara looks over at you, exhausted.
"No, it's Kara."
You think about it for a moment. "Oh, well I don't think the lady in there knows that.”
"She does." Kara lets out a sigh, glancing over into her boss’ office, pulling a spinny chair over for you to sit in.
You sat down and discovered that the chair moves in circles, without moving across the room itself. It was one of the coolest things you had ever seen. You spun in the chair a few times before stopping abruptly.
The phone was ringing, but to you that was the sound of death.
“Kar- Kara! What is that alarm for??” Kara was quick to assure you it wasn’t an alarm, and you didn’t need to panic.
“It’s just the phone ringing, Y/n, don’t worry.” Kara picked up the call, and immediately started drawing on a paper, with her pen. Which you now knew the function of; to hold memories on a paper.
-
You tapped Kara on the shoulder for the millionth time, when she finally turned towards you, staring daggers. You instantaneously backed up and left her alone until the phone call had ended.
“Y/n,” She whisper yelled towards you, “that was an important call. I need you to-”
“Kara, I really have to go the bathroom.” You interrupted.
“What?”
“Where is the bathroom?” Kara now understanding, showed you to it, so you wouldn’t get lost.
---
“Hey Kara,” Jimmy Olsen walked towards the blonde.
“Hey!” She smiled at her friend, starting to worry as you had been gone for almost a half hour, in the bathroom.
“Winn, might have told me some interesting news...” Jimmy makes a questioning face at Kara, before they are interrupted by their boss, who had noticed Kara’s little cousin was gone.
“Keria! I need you make sure layout has the right colors I sent them!” Cat yelled from her office.
“I’ll be back," She started to walk away, saying to herself "She should be back soon,” Her voice turns into a whisper. “hopefully...” As Kara gets on the elevator headed straight for layout on the floor below.
-
“Hello…? Kara…?” You walked aimlessly back towards her desk, as Cat waved you inside her office.
“Keria is doing something for me. So. Your Keria’s little cousin?” She takes off her glasses and invites you to sit on the couch. You sit and nod.
“Yes, I am her- Cousin.” You struggled to get the words out, not remembering how to articulate the new word. The older woman hummed in response and sat across from you, crossing her legs, one over the other, staring you down.
“Keria doesn’t talk much about family.” She pondered in her seat.
“I live- Far away, so I do not visit very much.”
“Do you stay for long when you do visit?” She questioned you, and you froze having no idea what to say.
“Uh not very long, usually just- Days.”
“Days?”
“One days, usually.”
“Kara is quite a lot older than you it seems, what do you get up to when she is at work all day?”
“I work, also.” You outright lied.
“You do?” She asked questionably.
“Yes, I do… Oh, and I am 14.” You said proudly, if you didn't know anything in the world, you would always know how old you were. “Kara is much older than me, yes. We are cousins.” You smile at her trying not to seem weird.
“Y/n!” Kara practically shouts your name from the doorway, walking in to meet you. You stood at her arrival and smiled at Miss Grant as Kara took your arm and pulled you towards her desk.
“What was that? Did you tell her anything? What did she ask you?” Kara was mad and slightly worried her boss knew she had lied to her.
“I just told her I am 14, and we are cousins.” You starting to walk towards your chair but stopped in your tracks.
“Keria. Do you always interrupt people’s conversations like that? We were learning so much about each other.”
“I’m sorry Miss Grant, Y/n has,” Kara takes half a breath and continues. “School work she needs to be working on.” The Girl of Steel really got out of that just by the hem of her cape.
-
The constant sounds of the squeaky chair, spinning around and around, started to irritate the girl with super hearing.
The world started to spin faster and faster around, your vision blurring and then it stopped. All quite suddenly, almost throwing you out of the chair. Kara tightly held onto the chair, digging her fingers in it just enough to get a good grip and stop the irritating noise.
“Can you, please, stop.” She begged you. “Once I finish this article, we can go around the city, do you like ice cream?” You had no idea what an icecream was, but you wanted to have some and nodded in response, but groaned at the world still spinning a bit before your eyes, slowing down by the second.
“Thank you.”
---
You ran down the curb of the street, a smile on your face, as you secured you and Kara’s spot in line for ice cream. You curiously watched others walk away with happy faces, holding their ice cream from a triangle tube! You were excited to say the least.
Kara chuckled at you, “Excited?” she said walking up to you.
“More than! I’ve never ever had ice cream, even, in the history of all the worlds!” Kara couldn’t help but smile at your excitement for new things, knowing you would be learning about a lot of new things in the coming months, just as she once did.
“What?” You chuckled, noticing your new friend, observing you fondly.
“Nothing…” Kara said smiling, and continued to look you over, now understanding that you were going through what she did. The blonde made a vow to herself, in that moment, waiting for ice cream that she would always make sure you weren’t alone, like she had so often felt when she first got to Earth. Now she had a mission, someone to take under her wing and watch over. She never got that chance with her cousin.
You feel in love with ice cream, loving every part of it. Kara becoming your friend, along with Alex and the computer nerd, Winn, was one of best things ever! Everyday was fun, well the days without someone on the verge of death, were always a good time. Wether you were at the arcade with Alex, or at girls night with the scientist, named Lena, or just saving the day, when you were allowed to at least. And over time you were sure that one day you would call this place home, even if at first it wasn't so high on your priority list...

Powergirl Should Die
Supergirl. Powergirl. B!D. Kara Danvers x BabyDanvers!Reader, Alex Danvers x BabyDanvers!Reader, Lena Luthor, Winn Schott.
Word Count: 2550.
Porwergirl should die. Someone should kill her.
The suit is skin tight, it clings so forcefully onto you as if it's trying to become part of you. But this other skin, just simply doesn’t fit right over your bones.
There is a huge House of El crest over your chest, in its golden glory. It weighs down on your skin, heavy and sacred. It should help you feel at ease. It doesn’t. It feels like it’s burning your skin like a branding iron.
Kryptonian?
Yes.
Super powers?
Yes.
You’re a superhero. Next, please!
Kara stands tall next to you, hand on your shoulder. “Would you look at that,” your sister smiles brightly at you. “Mother and father would be so proud of you, mini me.”
Kara has called you that your whole life, but you never felt so little as you do right now. You've also never felt so much like Kara. Crumpled up inside this supersuit to fit someone else’s dream. You don’t think your parents would be very proud of you now.
“Kara, this feels odd.” You try to lift the suit from your skin, that is so snuggled up it barely leaves you room to breathe. “I-I look like you.”
“I know!” She proudly squeaks. “I asked Winn to only change the colors. How do you feel about the white, red and blue?”
“Like a walking American flag.” You wince at the thought. You like the white, it’s a little more sober than the blue in Kara's suit, it also reminds you of the vest you used to wear back in Krypton. The red cape feels like they've ripped a piece of Kara’s and placed it on your back. The high blue boots are uncomfortable and the matching gloves are just plain stupid.
“You certainly don’t look like one.” Alex chimes in from behind you, and you turn around, sick of the sight of you in the mirror. “Honestly sis, I like this suit. I think it might be even better than Kara’s.”
“I wouldn’t go that far, mine has history.”
“Yours is a copy of Superman’s.”
“That’s what I mean, history.”
You watch your sister’s bickering with faint attention because they both would never say how ridiculous you look with this dull, hideous, comical outfit.
But it didn’t matter how foolish you looked, or how stupid you felt. There was no way out of this. Kara said you looked perfect and Alex agreed. J’onn, who’s been the closest thing to a father to you on this planet, gave you a stiff smile when asked what he thought. He could read your mind, remember? That’s what he thought about it. And Winn was just over the moon with his creation. No way out. From that day on, you’re Powergirl.
It hasn’t been long since you started being Powergirl. You’re still not the most prominent face of the Supers, thank God for that. You do the easy jobs while Kara takes on the real bad guys. You follow her lead. Obey to what Alex tells you to do over the comm that is permanently stuck in your ear. As if you couldn’t hear her from miles and miles away.
But with every passing day, it becomes even more obvious to you that you were really not cut out for this superhero life. Not good at it. Not happy with it. Not fit for it.
The very opposite of Kara, actually. Because Kara fits everywhere and with everyone. She fits perfectly in her suit, with her alias. Perfectly at her job at CatCo, as a news reporter. And ever since she landed on Earth she created her perfect family, story, life on this planet.
You, on the other hand, wish everyday you were still at Krypton. You are well aware that if you stayed behind, that if your parents hadn't made Kara snuggle your smaller form against her own body on that pod, you would have exploded. You wouldn't be alive today. And you wish people knew you don't want to be dead, you just wish your planet hadn't exploded in the first place.
Sure Kara feels the same. Yet she makes a name for herself and gives back to this planet that took you both in so willingly, that gave you both powers because of its sun. Kara is just different.
"Mother would want us to use our powers for good." She would whisper to you in the dark, whenever the Danvers would tell you to not use your powers. Whenever they asked you to fit in completely. "Father spent so much time trying to stop our planet from deteriorating, don't you think that if he had powers he would use them to make that happen?"
She would ask you questions that didn't feel like questions. That required no answers at all. Kara would tell you what she knew about them, use them as arguments to explain to you (convince even) why you had to become a superhero too.
And you would lay there in the dark, after your sister was asleep, looking at the long dead stars, and wondering whether she was right. Whether that was your parents' plans all along or just a sad coincidence.
"Powergirl." You hear Kara's voice early in the morning while you're still trying to brew yourself a cup of coffee. "I need you for a second."
"It's too early in the morning and I have to get ready for work." You press on your comm to answer. "Can't you deal with it alone?"
"Hm, no. I need you to come here now."
You let out a huge sigh, trying to ease your own mind. Coffee will wait, you guess. You're out of your pj's, into your suit, and out of the house in a blur. You stop next to Kara while she stares at a billboard.
"What?" You can't help the harshness of your tone as you see no emergency around her.
Kara says nothing. Only points at the billboard and you finally take note of it. Written in large red colors, the sentence: Powergirl should die.
Huh.
"It seems that you have an enemy." Kara says when time enough has passed for you to read the sentence over a few times. "Don't worry, we'll catch them."
Cute. It's your first thought. It's almost like someone wrote you a love letter, au contraire.
Kara makes an effort to tear it all down, destroy the billboard before anyone sees it. You don't help her, stuck inside your own mind, replaying the words in your head.
"No need to worry." She assures you, hand on your shoulder to get you out of your trance. "No one will do you any harm, mini me. I'd never let anyone hurt you."
"Thanks, Kar." You look at your watch on your wrist. "Work calls." And so you fly home.
You try to lodge that sentence in the back of your mind. You don't wanna seem stressed out, even though you are. But showing how actually worried you are about it, and with the fact that someone is coming for you, it's inconceivable.
Kara would worry. Alex would stress. Ooof, you can see it all playing out. Sleepovers and excuses for you to miss work and hang at the DEO headquarters so they can keep an eye on you, until you're feeling suffocated.
No, no. You can't go through that. It's been a while since you and your sisters shared a bedroom. You don't think you three can do that again now that you're grown ups.
It happens again. You don't see it, but you hear the agents commenting about it, a couple days later. They get muted the second you fly in the DEO, which is not only annoying but foolish. You do have super hearing after all.
"So, where was it this time?" You ask Alex, while she tries to avoid looking at you.
"Where's what?" She tries, and you furrow your brows.
"Winn, put it on the monitor." You ask coming closer. Winn looks at Alex as if asking for permission, but you don't give her time to deny him. "Come on, I heard the agents. I'm still Kryptonian even if I'm not a Super."
Winn huffs. "On the tallest building of National City." The photo goes up on the large TV in front of you, and you swallow deep.
Powergirl should die.
"Y/N," Alex talks in a low tone so the agents around can't hear her. "it's not personal."
"Looks personal." You cross your arms, turning your back at the TV. "Someone wanting me dead sounds like it's as personal as it can get."
"Supergirl is looking into it, I promise we'll catch whoever did this."
"Alex, please." You pass her on your way to the training room. "You know damn well my favorite thing about you is that you don't lie."
"You've lost too many punching bags." You hear a voice behind your back, and you breathe deep before turning around.
"Just training a little." You look at the number of destroyed bags by your feet and decide that it's true, there's too many, even though that's what they're here for.
"Alex told me about the message." Kara approaches you slowly, trying to test the territory. She can see your distress, but doesn't know the extent of it. And she won't, because you're definitely going to fake it.
"Yeah, tall building. They got the writing off quickly, though. So no major problems."
"Honey," Kara's voice is even sweeter now, if that's possible. "I'll catch them. I'll be patrolling tonight. No one's coming for you."
"I'm not worried." You smile at your lie, or half of lie for what it's worth. Knowing that Kara will be patrolling the city helps. You know your sister would never let anything bad happen to you. And it's very unlikely that anyone on this planet could easily defeat two Kryptonians.
Kara also smiles, and brings you into her arms for a hug. And you breathe out, calmer. Kara's arms have kept you safe from many perils. Spaceship lost in space, new planet, new school, new job. Surely she can keep you safe again.
You don't feel safe, though, when you wake up to a familiar voice far away. You rub the sleep from your eyes, well awake, paying close attention to a conversation you weren't invited to be a part of.
"Alex, I went around the city, there's no new wri-"
"Kara? What was that?"
There it was, in big red letters the sentence that has been haunting you for days. Powergirl should die. And under it new words' been added, someone should kill her.
"I found new writing." Kara's voice comes a second later. "It's worse this time."
"Take a picture so we can compare the handwriting and get back here."
"I have to clean this up." But before Kara even has the chance to, you're flying next to her in front of the L Corp building. "Y/N! What are you doing here?"
You move closer to the building to investigate. The ink is still wet, it wasn't done too long ago. You look around trying to find cameras. It's Lena's building, you're sure there are cameras everywhere. You spot one with a direct view.
"Mini me-" Kara tries.
"Go to work Supergirl, I'll deal with this. Someone wanting me dead is my problem." It's always been your problem, you are aware. But Kara promised you, you had nothing to worry about. Promised she would patrol the city. Promised she would protect you. And yet, here it is, in big block red letters.
"But-"
"I got it, Kara. Can you just believe in me?"
"Y/N, you know I do. I just wanna help."
"I don't need help." You clench your jaw, tired of being treated like a little girl. Like a mini Kara instead of your own person. "I'm Kryptonian too."
Cheap shot? Maybe. Definitely. You throw it, anyway.
You clean the writing then fly home to suit up. You can't face Lena without it. Another secret that only makes you hate your secret identity as hard. Lying to your friends, sneaking out, it's all stressing and there's literally no reward high enough worth of all this.
"Lena."
"Oh shit." Lena's hand goes to her chest after her obvious scare. You can hear her heart almost beating out of her chest. "It's too early for bad news, Powergirl."
"Trust me, I agree with that." You breathe out, trying to give her a smile. It comes out flat. "I was wondering if I could look into one of your surveillance cameras. There was some writing on this building this morning, I would very much like to know who's responsible."
"Writing? I - I didn't see anything when I came in."
"Good. I cleaned it as fast as possible." You point at her computer and she breathes deep as if she is agreeing with you.
It doesn't take long for the images to be up, and you two to be carefully reversing the filming until Lena sees you and Kara flying in front of it, and read the words herself. She looks up to you and quirks up an eyebrow, in question.
"Currently unsure if someone is threatening me or if this is just general knowledge being passed on."
"People don't want you dead, you're a superhero!" Lena argues. "Maybe Lex, but he's currently serving his time."
"Clearly not everyone agrees with you." You point back at the words on her computer.
"It's awful." She admits, even though she doesn't fully trust you or Kara yet. "Wait, wait. There."
You can't see a thing. One minute is there, the other isn't. You slow down the images, trying to see any detail. Lena soon takes over and slows down as much as she can. That's when you see it, just a tiny flash of red. You hold your breath. Thankfully, Lena hasn't noticed it.
"How's this possible? There's no one."
"Seems that I'll have to patrol the city myself tonight." You're almost leaving Lena's office when you turn around one more time. "Thank you for your help, Ms. Luthor."
"I was barely of any help at all." Lena points at the computer as proof and you give her a smile.
"Au contraire, darling. You showed me everything I needed to see." You wink at her, then fly out.
You march inside the DEO, positive on your plan. No one is talking you out of it, that's for sure.
Winn tries to argue that it is illogical for you to just give yourself to your enemy. He gets ignored. Alex argues that as a DEO agent she can't let you do this, and as your older sister she would be insane to leave you alone in this situation. You don't budge. Kara pulls out the big guns, her promise to mother and father, her duty as your protector, how you're the only connection she still has with Krypton, her love for you and so on. Her cries fall on deaf ears.
So at night, you fly around National City watching and studying everyone in it, even though you know you should only be looking for one person. One person with superspeed, a red cape and a big motive.

“You needed some help?” You said over your headpiece. You heard Barb sigh.
“As long as you’re not needed elsewhere, Kryptonian?” Barb answered.
“Well. There’s a satellite that I need to deal with. I can get that done on the way. Is there trouble in San Francisco?” You asked.
“Yes. Let me know when you’re done with the satellite. Apparently, the problem is a big one and we’re already spread thin.” Barba asked. The signal on the headpiece cut out and then less than a minute later you were back on the coms.
“Done. Where do I need to go?” You asked.
“There’s a carnival downtown. I can’t get any cameras on what’s happening to be careful. I’ll see if I know anyone that can help get a visual.” Barb said as you turned in the air. As you dropped down you spotted several familiar faces and looked around.
“Urm. Barb? I think I’m too late to the party. Looks like the Titans have it under control?” You said as you watched Dove go on a ride to retrieve a doll.
“Yes. I've just gotten through to the person blocking the visual. Sorry to waste your time.” Barb answered.
“I’ll see if I can be of any help before I head off. You don’t need me anywhere else while I’m here?” You asked and she scoffed.
“I’ll let you know.” Barb said and she cut off the coms so that you wouldn’t hear into the control room.
Turning you gave an awkward wave, you only really knew the older members of the Titans outside of their secret identities, it didn’t surprise you that they were standoffish. Though the newer members were the ones that waved back. The group stared at you and then looked past you. “Dove!”
Turning as Donna ran forwards you saw a power line falling. Dove cleared the way and when it was clear that she wouldn’t make it you moved forward. You could feel some of the electricity burning through you but having, by chance, helped your sister deal with Livewire a few months before, Cisco Ramon and Winn Schott had upgraded your suit to try and lessen the damage from attacks. Though the suit was upgraded you could feel that you were weakened and dropped the power line. Stumbling backwards you found that Dove had made it to you first. Pulling your mask off you gasped. You rarely felt ill on earth but that shock might have done it.
“(Y/N)?” Donna and Grayson said in unison.
“You’re a Kryptonian!” One of the Titans said.
Donna hurried over and helped you to your feet. She was staring at you as if she didn't know you at all.
“It’s supposed to be a secret.” You said and Donna scoffed.
“Well, you’re terrible at keeping secrets so no wonder we found out. You know that there are news reporters showing up and they just caught your act of braver and your demasking.” Donna glanced over her shoulder at the news vans that were pulling up.
“So are you. I’ve known for years you were trained by the Amazons.” You admitted. She smiled but pulled a face of shock. “I also know about you know who and his bat friend.” You gestured to Grayson who still looked mildly shocked at your secret being revealed.
“I can’t believe that you kept this from me all this time!” She went on.
“Can we talk more about it when I’ve recovered from a major zapping? Plus I praised Barb. I'd keep an ear out for her and I think my Coms melted in my ear.” You complained. Dove hurried over to take a little of your weight and you found yourself hurried along and taken back to the titans' tower to recover. The next day your sister arrived and berated you for revealing your identity but assured you that all the footage of your face had somehow been scrambled by someone, Winn you assumed and that you weren’t allowed to do anything so reckless again.

hi :) I just started supergirl and im almost finished with season 2! I saw that you write for winn (he's my favorite character and I love him so so much) so I'd love a fluff Christmas prompt where he plans a whole day for the reader or decides to propose! anything really fluff related with winn will be fine :) thank you!
A Schott for Christmas
Summary: Christmas with Winn is a marathon event with an unexpected finish line.
Part: 1/1
Pairing: Winn Schott x reader
Warnings: none?
Word count: 1,262
A/N: Though my asks aren't officially open again I though we could all use a lil pick me up before Christmas and the new year. Enjoy!
~
“What in the world are you wearing and am I allowed to take a picture of it to keep forever?” Winn narrowed his eyes playfully at the comment but there was a mischievous glint behind them that worried you. “Uh uh, you’re planning something aren’t you?”
“No, no I am most certainly not planning something.”
“You are the worst liar I’ve ever met.” He gasped and threw a hand over his heart.
“Not true.”
“You’re right Kara might just be worse, but I still think it's you.”
“I’m gonna pretend like you didn’t say that and move on.” He held up a matching ugly sweater and you adamantly shook your head, not a huge fan of that tradition as you always wound up sweating beneath them. “No choice this year I’m afraid, you only get a picture of me in this outfit then you’ve gotta match.”
“Oh you’re good, you’re really good.” You snatched the sweater and reluctantly pulled it over your head, grumpily huffing once it was on.
“Thank you, grinch.” He kissed your cheek and began the search for the camera Jimmy had given you last Christmas.
“Rude, I love Christmas, I just hate these scratchy sweaters.” He shook his head and set up the shot, wrapping his arms around you and resting his chin on your shoulder as you pressed a kiss to his cheek. “But I love you more than I hate them.”
“Gee aren’t I lucky.” His eyes were twinkling but his smile was so genuine you thought the agenda wouldn’t be much different than last year. You were wrong.
The day was spent going from Christmas to Christmas, the first being your mother’s early dinner where she spent the entire meal chatting with Winn about the future as if it would come true tomorrow. But Winn was such a good sport, evading her pressing questions with ease and turning the topics back at her. He’d had a few Christmases to practice the technique and now she dared call him a master of it. Next was a meal at her father’s which was much less bustling and free of pressing questions about grandchildren and such. Her dad had made the meal himself and was quite happy to discuss whatever Winn brought up despite not understanding a thing about his work and what he had studied just as Winn was more than willing to listen to her dad go on and on about his favorite teams and how their seasons were going. Last but not least was the main event of the day, the Danvers family dinner thrown at Kara’s apartment. The most relaxed occasion of the three.
“So how has your run around day been?”
“Exhausting, I mean my mother was relentless about asking Winn just about every personal question about our relationship and any future plans we’ve discussed. She hardly ate anything on her plate.” Alex chuckled softly and took a sip of her wine while Kara and their mother continued clearing the table with Winn and Jimmy’s help.
“Sounds like the traditional Christmas day for you guys.”
“Pretty much, at least my dad was better about conversing this year. Hardly a moment for me to speak between the two of them.”
“That’s great. Maybe he’s starting to understand how important Winn is to you.” You managed a smile, eyes trailing over to where Winn had begun to wash the dishes despite Kara and her mother insisting he didn’t need to.
“Maybe.”
“Hey, at least he’s trying right? I mean that’s better than nothing.”
“Yeah you’re right, progress is progress.” You clink your glass against hers and downed the rest of your wine which somehow alerted Winn that it was empty. He wandered over after finishing off the few dishes he could get through before being shooed from the sink and poured you and Alex another glass.
“Now that’s a super power right there, you always seem to know when I’ve finished my drink and want another.” Winn shook his head smiling as he plopped down on the couch beside you.
“It helps when you always clink your glass before drinking the last of whatever is in your glass.” You shove his shoulder and playfully roll your eyes.
After a few hours of relaxation you were decently buzzed and ready to snuggle up at home to watch Polar Express, but Winn led you in a different direction. It wasn’t until you saw you reached the other side of the pond that you understood the hike he’d taken you on. From this spot you could see the fountain lit up for Christmas in front of the National City Skyline and the view was breathtaking.
“Wow, I’ve never seen it from this spot. It’s beautiful, Winn.” It was at that moment that you noticed him down on one knee with a small box in his hand. “Yes.”
“I haven’t even asked you anything yet.”
“Oh, sorry, carry on.” You mimed zipping your lips shut and he just chuckled and shook his head. Part of the moment had slipped but you motioned for him to continue anyway.
“Y/N L/N. I know we’ve only known each other for 2 years but I have never felt so connected to someone in my life. Getting through each day is easier knowing that I get to see you when I walk through the door. You make life’s burdens easier to bear because you always lend your shoulder without ever needing a reason to. I don’t want to imagine a future without you if I don’t have to. So will you do me the greatest honor on this planet or any planet and marry me?”
“Yes, this day and every day. Yes.” He shakily slid the ring onto your finger, missing the first two times before picking you up as your laughter erupted through the crisp winter night. “I love you Winslow Schott Jr.”
“Not as much as I love you.”
“You don’t want to start that argument because neither of us will win and we’ll both wind up looking silly.” He rested his forehead against yours and you giggled as a thought rippled through your mind.
“What?”
“My mother is going to lose her mind.” He smiled and shook his head against yours, noses bumping a little. Is that why my dad was so adamant to suddenly get to know you tonight?”
“I asked his permission a month ago before I bought the ring.”
“Ah, so he finally got the message that you plan on sticking around.”
“That I do, until you throw me out or we grow old and die.”
“Ever so positive on this Christmas night.”
“Still mad I made you take an ugly Christmas sweater photo?”
“Only if we don’t get one with the ring in it too.”
“Really?” You nodded and pulled him in for a kiss that turned into many. “Did I tell you how much I love you?”
“You might’ve mentioned something of the sort.”
“Well that just won’t do.” He pulled away and turned toward the water cupping his hands around his mouth like a megaphone. “I would like everyone in National City to know that I love Y/N L/N!”
There was only the response of a nearby homeless man shouting for Winn to quiet down with that racket as he was trying to sleep. You chuckled as Winn yelled back an apology that went unacknowledged. Tonight was the beginning of the next chapter and it was just a tad early for the new year, but you were excited just the same.

he's got my past frozen behind glass, but I've got me - Winn Schott Imagine (Supergirl)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: he's got my past frozen behind glass, but I've got me
Pairing: Winn Schott X Reader
Song Drawn: it's time to go
Word Count: 1,263 words
Warning(s): mentions of past violence
Summary: The past can haunt us. Destroy us, if we aren't careful.
Author's Note: I'm working on getting into writing more.
--------------------------
It started as a normal day in the D.E.O.
The agents were looking over cases. Supergirl and I were running around and fighting crime. The organization was running like a machine.
Kara and I landed next to each other before walking into the main room of the D.E.O. As soon as I made it through the door, I dropped my tough face and ran over to the desks with a big, stupid smile on my face.
"Hey," I said, wrapping my arms around Winn from behind.
He turned around in my arms and smiled, "Good job out there today."
"Couldn't have done it without you," I replied before leaning in and kissing him gently.
"Very professional..."
I pulled away and looked at Alex, who was standing there with a smirk on her face. I stuck my tongue out at her.
Winn and I had tried to remain professional at work but it just seemed to get in the way. So, we respected each other's boundaries... and made sure that no one got mad at us.
I stepped away from Winn so I could stand next to him at the table.
"What's next," I asked.
"There doesn't seem to be anything on the radar," Winn trailed off as he looked at his tablet. "Oh... that's weird."
"That's never good," I replied, leaning over to look at the screen.
It was starting to glitch. The screen cut in and out. I looked up at the large screens along the wall.
"Winn," I said quietly, lightly hitting his shoulder. He looked up.
The screens had gone completely black. They slowly started turning white. Soon, a photo popped up on the screen.
It was me... a younger me.
I was in a different suit and my old partner was standing next to me.
"Holy shit," I whispered.
"Is that you," Winn asked.
Now he's good at recognizing people under a mask, I thought.
"Yeah," I replied. "A much younger me. Younger and more stupid."
Right after that, the screen changed to an address.
"Kara," I called. "Let's go."
"(Y/n)," Winn grabbed my arm. "We don't know the dangers in there-"
"I know this guy very well," I replied before leaning forward and kissing his cheek. "I'll be fine. I promise."
He nodded and moved to give my hand a comforting squeeze, "I'll be in your ear the whole time."
"I know."
"Ready," Kara asked. I nodded.
We walked to the front of the D.E.O and took off.
We landed outside the building and stood on guard. We did have to be ready for anything no matter what we thought we knew.
The door swung open and the man I had been avoiding for years walked out with a smug grin.
"And the great hero returns," he announced.
"What do you want," I replied.
"I want the truth out there!"
I furrowed my eyebrows for a second and shook my head.
"You didn't tell them," he asked. "Supergirl and the D.E.O?"
"(Y/n), what is he talking about," Winn asked.
"The manufactured evil back home," my old partner shouted. "We fought evil that we created-"
"You created," I snapped, taking a few steps forward. "You didn't even tell me. You created monsters to make money off of my name! You wanted to make a business out of a superhero!"
Kara stepped up with me.
"You ended up famous," he motioned up and down at me.
"What do you want?"
"You have 24 hours," he stepped forward. "24 hours to step down as the hero of the city or I will tell everyone that you helped me nearly destroy a city in order to get money and fame."
"We could take you in right now and you would never be able to," I shrugged, smirking slightly.
"Unfortunately... you can't."
With that, he disappeared.
"Shit," I shouted before turning around and flying toward the D.E.O. Kara was right behind me.
I stormed into the building with a scowl.
"(Y/n)," Winn followed me from the main office to one of the training rooms. "Hey, hey, hey."
He grabbed my wrist and got me to stop walking, "We're gonna figure this out."
"I can't believe him," I shouted. "I ran from him when I found out what he was doing! I knew that I couldn't be involved in that! He didn't give a single shit about me or the people we were supposed to be protecting! I just wanted to help people!"
Winn pulled me into a hug, "I don't doubt that."
He was rubbing my back and leaving light kisses on my forehead. I slowly stepped back from him.
"He has my history. His own story to twist and make me a villain," I mumbled. "I ran when I knew what he had really done. I was always a hero."
Winn reached up to cup the side of my face as he nodded.
"I'm gonna beat him to the punchline," I said. Winn furrowed his eyebrows. "He has my history but no evidence. I'm still me. I'm a hero in this city... the people trust me. If I tell them the truth first. He doesn't have a way to argue otherwise."
Winn smiled, "We'll find a way to get a press conference together."
I nodded, grinning a little bit.
--time skip--
"Hello," I greeted as I approached the podium.
Winn and the rest of the D.E.O somehow managed to gather up reporters to listen to me. Kara offered to stand beside me to show that the two of us were a unified force. It was luck more than anything.
"Thank you all for coming, I know this is sudden," I took a moment, looking out at the group. "I've had a threat aimed at me by a man that I used to trust. I have decided... that I will not be driven by fear. That's not what the people of this city expect of me."
Another deep breath.
"A few years ago, I spent time in a different city," I explained. "I was trying to be a hero. To save people. Much like I am now. Then, I worked with a man that I hoped held my same values. I was wrong."
I sighed.
"He created monsters and villains so he could find fame and money. I did not know that while working with him. As soon as I found out the truth, I left. I came to this city and started a new life. Supergirl was kind enough to let me work with her."
I took a moment to look at Kara, who was smiling at me. We nodded to each other.
"The man I had been working with threatened to lie and claim that I helped him build these creatures of his if I didn't step down as a hero. But I won't do that. I will not turn my back on the people of this city. I am not going to bow down to a man who craves recognition when he does not deserve it.
"Thank you to those who trust me to protect and stand by you. Those who trust that I have pure intentions. And for those that may not, I will find a way to prove myself to you, if you'll let me. Thank you for listening."
Kara and I ignored the shouting reporters as we walked away. She placed a hand on my back as a sign of comfort.
No matter what that man tried to do, I had my team. I trusted that we would get through this all. That I would be okay.

coffee runs - winn schott x fem!reader [part 1]
Tumblr media
SUMMARY:  winn and y/n make coffee runs for one another which eventually leads to something more
CATEGORIES: fluff
WARNINGS: spoilers for season 2 of supergirl? but not really
WORD COUNT: 817
《 a/n: i just started supergirl and I love winn so much, so here's a lil series for the cute tech nerd who works for the deo 》
○●○●○●○●○●○●
The coffee house across the street from the huge newly built DEO facility was a godsend when you were running late for work. It was a smaller cafe, but still a little more active in the mornings.
A yell with your name attached came from a barista who handed you your order: two large coffees. One for you and one for your cute new deskmate. The cute deskmate in question was none other than Winn Schott, a new hire by Director J'onn. You have been working for the DEO for some time now in the analyst department, and when you got the chance to briefly work with Winn to help Supergirl catch the bad guys, you knew he'd make a great addition to the team.
And that's what the coffee was for, it was supposed to be a warm welcome. You knew exactly what it was like to come into this organization and feel intimidated by the grand scheme of things. It helped to have people around you to get you through it.
Rushing through the doors and down the steps to the main working station, you sat at your computer and put down the coffee cups.
A strong voice calls out from behind you, "Agent L/n, do you think the aliens' threats wait for you?" It was Director J'onn, tall and stern as ever.
"No, sir, it won't happen again," you mumbled, making your way to sit down.
"It better not be," he then walks away without another word, you finally let out a sigh, sinking into your chair.
"I'm really glad I got here early then," the voice sitting beside you says, it was Winn. You glance over at him and he looks nervous looking over the data on his computer.
"Well, I'm glad it was me rather than you," a chuckle escaping your lips. "I'm Y/n by the way, I know we worked together briefly, but I wanted to introduce myself properly," You reach out your hand for him to shake.
He looks over at you, a small smile crawling on his lips. He takes your hand in his and says, "I'm Winn.. but you already know that,"
Your clasped hands linger in the air for a moment, you can feel how warm and comfortable his hand feels in yours.
As soon as the moment lasts for a second too long, Winn clears his throat, "Well, I should get back to work," he lets your hand go and returns it to his computer keys.
You nod, turning back to your own desk, realizing that you had completely forgotten to give Winn his coffee.
"Oh wait! Actually, I got this for you as a welcome gift. I didn't know what you liked so it just had a bit of cream and sugar in it," For some reason, you feel nervous and in the process, the wiring in your brain must have malfunctioned because you completely missed his hand and let the cup go too early, spilling the hot coffee all over Winn.
He lets out a yelp of sorts, standing abruptly. Gaping in awe at the spilled contents on his shirt and the floor. Gratefully, you missed the computer or there would have been hell to pay.
"I am so sorry, I'll get someone to clean this up and I'm sure there's a shirt for you in the lost and found bin," you ramble. A red blush washes across your face in complete embarrassment. Scrambling for the napkins that you grabbed on the way out of the coffee shop, trying to clean up what you could around his desk. It wasn't often that you slipped up and made mistakes, in this line of work mistakes get people killed. But of course you had to fumble when it was in front of the guy you wanted to impress.
A stifled laugh lifts you out of your thoughts when you look up to Winn trying to cover it with his hand.
He must have seen your confused expression because he says, "This isn't how I imagined my day would go, but if getting coffee spilled on me is the worst of it, I think I'm going to like it here,"
You admit, it was a little funny that the worst thing they have to deal with right now is Winn's coffee-soaked shirt. You let out a laugh of your own, both of you must have looked so strange in the middle of the DEO with coffee everywhere; the aroma filling the air.
"Look, we really should get this cleaned up, before it gets sticky," Winn says, sighing. The laughter has died down now, you were surprised Director J'onn didn't come to scold them at a moment's notice.
You nod, "Here," you set your coffee cup near his desk, "I still owe you a welcome gift,"
He smiles, "Help me pick out a shirt from lost and found?"

my ap language arts book: second person pov uses you/your pronouns, but it very rarely used because it casts the reader as a character in the story, which is seen as tacky by many critics

Imagine being a med-tech at the DEO and working on a cure for Winn when he gets Pestilence's sickness.
Tumblr media
As soon as the news reached you, it rocked you to your very core. Winn would be relying on you now, as well as the rest of the med techs, you supposed, but you’d taken to finding a cure for the pestilence sickness as a personal mission. It wasn’t as if you didn’t trust the people you worked with. Everyone at the DEO were the best of the best. It’s just, you may have a bit of a crush on Winn and you knew you wouldn’t be able to stand it if you lost him because of this.
So you worked tirelessly day and night, trying to find a way to stave of the symptoms until you could really find a cure. And finally, you did it. You were so tired that you thought you’d only dreamed the cure at first, but a good dose of coffee and a pinch to your arm confirmed that you had well and truly done it.
You ran with the serum over to where Winn was being kept in the DEO. He wouldn’t have to suffer any longer. You gave him quick warning that you were about to give him an injection and then stuck the needle in. Within the hour he began to recover. It may not have been instantaneous, but he would be fully back to normal. Yo watched over him as the symptoms began to get milder and Winn was acting more like himself. He smiled at you and your heart leaped. Then he reached out his hand, giving it a weak but grateful squeeze before he fell asleep. You were sure he needed the rest. You’d check on him later and maybe then finally be brave enough to ask him out.

Valkyrie - Winn Schott x Reader
Warnings: mild swearing, adorable winn.
Tumblr media
With your wings spread out, you soared through the inky sky, looking out for danger in National City. You had just moved from Parthas to become the apprentice of Winn Schott at CatCo WorldWide media. However you were never originally from Parthas
Your name is Y/n Pond. You're the daughter of The Doctor and Melody Pond aka River Song. You're part timelord and part human and  you are 122 years old. Your mother and father travelled back in time to when Gallifrey existed and raised you there, until the high council of Gallifrey captured you, took control of your mind, experimented on you, gave you unlimited power that you never asked for and altered your appearance so that your eyes were rainbow and your hair was purple and gold. Lucky for you, you could camouflage your appearance to look relatively human. They turned you into there personal assassin and if you disobeyed, they would punish you in the worst ways possible. On my 100th birthday your parents found you and broke you out of your prison but you were badly injured and regenerated into a baby. It was then that they decided to go to Earth and try to raise you again, in Parthas. Your powers stuck through your regeneration and you don't think they will ever go away, hence why you have decided to use them for good, to try and wipe away your past. As your favourite comic book character Black Widow would say, I have red in my ledger. Now I need to wipe it out.
As you landed on top of a random roof top, you noticed a brown haired man about to enter a van when a group of, well, you would describe them as incompetent fools with guns and weapons came stumbling round the corner. Oh god this guy is gonna get killed if I don't do something quickly.
As you made your decent to the ground, you could hear the strange and the gang talking to each other with your super hearing.
"Hey bud, that's some fancy looking equipment you got in your van"
"Uh-uh yeah, yes it is, and if you don't mind I'm just gonna take my equipment with wm and out of your hair, yup, uh bye"
Just as one of them was about to shoot the, well, rather cute stranger, you landed inbetween him and the gang and caught the bullet in your hand.
"You know, it ain't nice to shoot at people, now why don't we solve this like civilised people, I will let you guys go as long as you don't attack this man. Its either that, or, well, you get your asses kicked"
"Move out our way bitch, or not only will this guy die, but so will you"
A fairly large bald guy with a snake tattoo around his arm started charging at you, so, obviously you blasted him with an energy blast.
"Okay, it seems you guys are getting your asses kicked"
Now picture the most badass fight scene with energy blasts, knives, guns, elemental manipulation, several types of fighting styles, flight, angel wings and one very awkward guy just gaping at how one person can take down 10 people without breaking a sweat.
"Wow that was a RUSH, " you screamed "now are you okay um"
"Winn, Winn Scott. W-who are you" he confusingly asked. Where have I heard that name before, oh it will come to me at some point.
"I have never actually thought of a super hero name before, how about Valkyrie. You can call me Valkyrie. Now if you excuse me I have a long night and a new job tomorrow, nice to meet you Winn"
And with that you spread my wings and flew off, not without hearing a very loud thank you being shouted.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Okay Y/n, new job, don't mess up, don't mess up don't mess up. That's all you repeated in your head as you stepped of the elevator into CatCo. Well that was until you bumped into someone and dropped your bag.
"shit, shit, shit, " you whispered "I am so so sorry"
You looked up and saw Winn. Oh fuck now I remember, he is my new boss.
"Its okay, honestly, on my first day I tripped over nothing, " he chuckled. You both rose from the ground as soon as you had picked up everything from your bag. "I'm Winn and you are?"
"I'm Y/n, Y/n Pond. I'm your new apprentice"
"Oh yes, YES. I was told you were coming today. Welcome to CatCo, if Miss Grant doesn't shout at you atleast once then well, you might be doing your job wrong" he again chuckled and you just stared at each other.
He lead you to your desk which was right next to his and you finally set my bag down. When you turned around, he was still staring. Then his eyes went wide and he gasped. Shit, he knows.
"You, you're, you're her aren't you"
"I-I don't know who you're talking about"
"Follow me" and with that he yanked your hand towards the lift and up to the roof.
You were nervously sweating, no one has ever recognised you before and you were fucking terrified.
As you walked onto the roof he wiped towards and pointed.
"YOUR VALKYRIE" He boomed.
Well I guess that's my identity blown.
"OKAY YES AND YOU CAN NOT TELL ANYONE PLEASE" you yelled back at him.
"Why would I do that, this is amazing, now I know three superheroes, WOOOO" huh, maybe that's why, wait there are more here. That's... Interesting.
"How did you know its me, I mean I am camouflaged to have h/l h/c hair and e/c eyes, not my natural appearance." you questioned.
"Your voice, I recognised it immediately, I would never forget that voice, " he said simply. At this point you were blushing like and idiot. Wait why am I blushing, oh fuck I can't have a crush already. " this is great, I could help you, oh please let me help you, please please please"
You just grinned at him and nodded your head, which caused him to raise his fist. I think this is gonna be a great partnership and an amazing friendship.

Sister Bonding Time
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Main masterlist
December 1st       December 3rd
You complained to Kara and Alex that your hair was getting all tangled. They had never dealt with kinky or curly hair so this was as much of a learning experience for them as it was for you.
The Danvers sisters went online looking for the best reviewed products and went to the store to pick them up for you. They came back with at least 3 arm-fulls worth of bags.
While you looked up tutorials on what humans called ‘YouTube’, Alex and Kara started to sort out the products; from deep conditioners, shampoos and pre-poo, protein treatments. They had it all.
You finally found a decent tutorial and did what they did to a certain extent.
The sisters helped you wash your hair, which was an entire process in itself since it was so long and thick. After that, it was left to deep condition since it was so dry due to lack of proper maintenance. Hours later, you finished the process with detangling it—while putting more products in it—and leaving it to dry.
When that was done, the three of you practically collapsed on the couch. That definitely could’ve been counted as workout for the week.
“Thank you for the help. I remember my mother doing similar things for me.”
Alex turned her head and smiled at you while wrapping you into a side hug.
“It was no problem kiddo. We’d do it again for you in a heartbeat.”
“Oh rao. Let’s just remember to do it earlier next time. It’s almost midnight.”
-----------------
This isn’t necessarily related to winter but i thought it’d be nice to show baby danvers slowly getting adjusted to her new life and family. consider it fluff.

Powergirl Should Die - Final
Supergirl. Powergirl. Kara Danvers x BabyDanvers!Reader, Alex Danvers x BabyDanvers!Reader, Lena Luthor, J'onn J'onnz, Winn Schott.
Word Count: 2750.
Part 1. Part 2.
Powergirl is gone.
"Boss." You nod at J'onn when you fly into the DEO. Alex hears your voice and makes her way towards the both of you. "Tag me in tonight. I've got a good night of rest. I'm ready to patrol the hell out of this town."
"I'm sorry, Powergirl." J'onn, whose voice displays no emotion at all, says. "I'm taking you out of this case. You're too close to the cause."
"What? Of course I'm too close, it's about me!” You speak a little too loud and notice all the other agents pretending they can't hear you. "You can't get me out of the case of someone trying to kill me."
"Are they? Trying to kill you?" You hear Winn's voice on J’onn’s back and you turn your head to look at him. You must be making some face because he looks scared when he sees you. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't butt in."
"Yeah, you shouldn't, computer guy."
"Hey!" Alex defends him and you roll your eyes.
"I just –" Winn continues even after seeing you scowl. "They haven't done anything. You have been getting those messages for a couple of weeks now. You should think someone would have tried something. Did anyone try anything?"
"No."
"Besides," Alex chimes in again. "It's not wise getting yourself in danger for it. Wait around, when we catch them you can do the interrogation yourself."
"Is this for real?" You look at the three agents ganging up on you, looking dead serious about it. You shake your head in disbelief. "This whole place is a joke!"
You go to L Corp for lunch. You show up with a bag of Belly Burgers and a whole speech for Lena. The thing is, Lena truly helped you sleep well the night before. With her you felt safe and yourself. Even with her finding out that you are Powergirl, you could let yourself forget about it, at least while you were in her arms. But still you can't help but feel like you took advantage of her.
You decide to save this whole conversation until after you both finish eating.
"Hey," Lena slides in a little closer, reaching for your hand on top of the couch. "You were quiet all throughout lunch. You know you can trust me with your secret, right?"
"Oh, yeah. I'm not worried about that." You give her a truthful smile and she slides in even closer, grabbing your hand and holding it between hers.
"What are you worried about, then? Let me in." Lena requests so softly, there's no way you can deny her. "I know the writing is keeping you awake," She makes sure. "but what else is keeping you closed off?"
"Lena." Her name comes out as a whine, and as result she kisses your temple while squeezing your hand in comfort. "What if the writing is coming from someone I know?"
She furrows her brows, but doesn't press you further. "Then you can do something about it, right? You're Powergirl! You're the strongest person I know!"
"Really?" She agrees with her head. You don't buy it. "What about Supergirl?"
"I mean, don't you and Kara have the same powers? Why would she be stronger?" Lena seems sincere, like she truly doesn't think that Kara is better than you in any way, including being a superhero.
"Yeah, I guess." You don't wanna tell her that you think your own sister is writing those things. Lena is Kara's best friend too. You can't poison that unless you know for sure. And the only way you can know for sure is if you confront your sister. "I guess I do have to do something about it."
You're not exactly thrilled to have this conversation with Kara, but it seems to be overdue.
"Hey," Lena whispers a bit closer. "I'm here for whatever you need. Always."
"I thought you would be mad that I didn't tell you I was Powergirl."
"I was. It lasted half a second." Lena says and you smile widely at her.
"I'm sorry about yesterday. I was so sleep deprived I just made you uncomfortable with the whole nonsense about you getting me naked. I mean, obviously you wouldn't wanna kiss–"
Lena interrupts you, with her lips crashing into yours. You first widen your eyes in surprise, but when her hand makes way to your neck, you're quick to close your eyes and melt into the kiss.
"I wasn't gonna kiss you yesterday." She whispers, breaking the kiss, and you slowly open your eyes. Your faces are so close you see every single color in Lena's iris. She's so damn beautiful. "You were so tired, it was like taking advantage of a drunk girl."
"I would've let you, though." You joke and she laughs before kissing you again. "Thank you, darling. You have no idea how much you've helped me last night. It was the first night in months I haven't had a single nightmare."
"Glad to be at service." Lena kisses your cheek, and you move your hands out of hers to snuggle her into your embrace. "Same time tonight?"
"Can't wait." You punctuate it with kisses on her face, and finally breathe deep. At least a good thing since you can't patrol the city tonight. Although, you don't think there will be any writing done. Not after you confront Kara about it.
It's after work when you fly through Kara's apartment window, unceremoniously.
"Oh hey!" Kara opens her arms excitedly when she sees you and you give her a forced smile. "You were reading my mind, I was about to call you and ask you to come over."
You make your way inside, but not before your sister pulls you in for a hug and a kiss on the top of your head.
"Why?" You untangle yourself making way to her couch. She furrows her brows when notices that you don't hug her back, but you're already throwing yourself on the couch, supersuit and all.
"Alex told me J'onn decided to take you off the case." You raise your head at her when she comes closer, a clear scowl. "I'm sorry, mini me. I promise I'll do whatever it takes to make the writing stop, ok?" Kara kneels in front of you, reaches for a loose strand of hair, and puts it behind your ear. "It will be alright."
"Will it?" You glare at her, crossing your arms in front of your chest.
"It will." Kara gives you a trying smile. "In the meantime, maybe you can talk to Lena about having more sleepovers, so you can continue sleeping well. I'm sure she won't mind."
"Why are you so worried about how well I sleep?"
"Because!" You hear her heart picking up the pace, so you wait for the rest, sure you must be closing in on her real reasons. "Sleep is important, and I know you were having a hard time with it. Nightmares ain't fun." You raise an eyebrow at her, she licks her lips. "And you said you were having them for a while. How-how long again?"
"Months."
"Right. Months with no good sleep, having to work and be a superhero. It takes a toll."
"You know what else takes a toll on people?" Kara raises an eyebrow in question. "Lying."
"Um, I guess. Have you? Been lying?"
"Me?" You can't believe she won't admit it. And she thinks you're the one lying. What the hell. "Oh no, I'm not the liar. You are."
"What?" Kara's mouth opens and closes a few times, like she can't believe she got caught. Like she didn't think you would find out. "What are you even talking about?"
And then, just like that, you snap. Anger starts boiling your blood, and you get up in a swift movement, ready to unleash hell. She stumbles back in surprise. It takes her a few seconds to get up too.
"You made me a superhero. Forced me into this life." You spit out greeted teeth. "Have you ever thought I could want something else? Have you ever thought of me as something other than a mini you?"
"What?"
"You got me to work for you and Alex! So you could both control my every step! And now what? Now you don't want me to be Powergirl anymore?"
"What?" She repeats, looking so surprised, you don't know how she can fake it so well. When did your sister become such a good actress? "What do you mean? Of course I do!"
"Then why have you been writing on fucking billboards and buildings that Powergirl should die?" Kara's eyes widen so much, you can't help but to roll your own. "Oh Rao, stop playing dumb already! I saw you, ok?"
"You saw me?"
"Red cape, blonde hair flying in the wind. All of it."
Kara furrows her eyebrows, "Really?" You agree with your head. "Red cape like this one?" She grabs your cape, pulling you to the direction of the mirror. "Blonde hair like that one?" She points at your reflection.
"Oh yeah, that makes sense." You can't stop the irony thick in your voice. "Yeah, sure. I'm the one writing that I should die."
"You are." Kara holds your face between her hands. "You haven't been having nightmares, Y/N. What you think you're dreaming, it's really happening. And the red cape you saw was yours."
"No."
"It's not the first time, either. You used to have them in Krypton too. Used to go around doing things you wouldn't remember and blame them on me."
"You're lying." You push Kara away from you so strongly, you're amazed she doesn't fall. "Just admit you did it! Why won't you?"
"Because I did! Our whole lives I would take the blame for everything you did while you were sleepwalking. With mother and father, Eliza, even with Alex. Gosh, Alex is still mad at me for destroying her chances to go to Europe when you were the one that did it!"
"No, you did it! You – You exploded Alex's stuff with your heat vision and Eliza thought you were feeling left out, I saw your blonde hair!" You stop yourself, walking backwards until your legs hit the couch again and you fall in it, wordless.
"You hate being Powergirl so you want her dead." Kara whispers lightly not to startle you. "I can't take the blame for this, because it won't stop it. You're the one that has to stop this now." She clears her throat to make sure you're still listening. "Kid, I can protect you from all the monsters and villains and planet explosions, but I can't protect you from yourself."
Your mind is screaming at you. Short-circuiting being overflowed with memories. She is right. Oh no, Kara is right. It was you all along.
When Kal was born you were jealous of the attention he was getting, so you stole his baby blanket and hid under Kara's bed.
You lost your spy beacon, so aunt Astra could only communicate with Kara afterwards. But you blamed Kara for having stolen yours and everyone believed you.
Alex said she wouldn't be back from college that year. Instead, she was going to Europe for the summer. You got mad and sad, you missed your sister so much and was so anxious to see her, yet she wasn't coming home. So you did it. You exploded Alex's side of the room and said Kara did it.
And Kara took the blame. She took the blame for you again and again. She would have people yelling at her, mad at her, but she wouldn't accuse you.
Oh my God, you just blamed your sister for wanting you dead when she was only trying to protect you from yourself again.
"Kara," You raise your tear-soaked face at her. "I swear I didn't know. I – I didn't do it on purpose."
"I know, baby." She whispers, one lonely tear rolling down her cheeks.
"No, I – Kara, I –" You can't talk. Can't breathe. It's all too much. "I'm sorry." You fall on your kneecaps, head hanging low. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'll tell Alex, I'll call Eliza and tell her too, I wish I could tell mother and father, I wish I –"
Kara kneels in front of you, pulls your face to her chest and hugs your head. "You're ok. It's ok." She kisses the crown of your head. "It's what I'm here for. I'm here to protect you. I'm here to prevent you from getting hurt. I would've taken the blame for this too, if I could. But if I did, the writing would never stop."
"You took the blame for everything." You cry harder. "Oh Rao, I've been hating you for weeks. But it was all my fault. And you," You look up to her, though you can't see right with all of the tears blurring your view. "You knew. I was treating you so badly, and you knew exactly why."
Kara shrugs. She doesn't care that you've been blaming her. Why doesn't she care?
"I told you," She answers the question right out of your mind. "I will always protect you. And I won't stop just because you're being mean to me. I'm your big sister and I love you."
You hold her tight, crying non stop, unable to tell her how much you love her too. But she knows. She knows by the way you're sobbing and giving her a bone-crushing hug at the same time.
"It's time to let Powergirl go, baby." She cleans your tears, and helps you up. "Come on, let's let her go."
"But – But you need my help, you need me to be her." You whine, even though you are making it easier for Kara to detach the cape from your back.
"No." Kara speaks softly and kisses your temple, soothing. "I don't need Powergirl. I need my sister. I need you, Y/N."
She helps you out of your stupid gloves and boots, while you cry. You don't know why you're crying. You're happy, you’re finally free of this gigantic responsibility that was placed on your back. You’re happy you won’t have to lie anymore. And yet, you cry.
“Come on, it’s over now.” Kara shows up in front of you with one of her baggy hoodie and you’re out of skin tight suit soon after. And so you can finally breathe again.
You watch Kara carefully folding your suit and placing them in a box. She gives it to you so you can decide what to do with it. You don’t take the box from her hands.
“You keep it. In case of an emergency.”
Kara looks at the box in her hands. “I’ll not ask you to put on this suit again, I promise.”
And you believe her. But you also know that if any of your sisters or Lena are in danger, no one will even have to ask you.
“You take it to the DEO then. I’m sure they’ll keep it safe.” You hug Kara tight, one last tear falling from your eye. “Thank you for everything. Thank you for keeping me safe and always protecting me. El Mayarah."
"El Mayarah, mini you. Mini sis? Minnie Mouse!" Kara says and scrunches her nose at it.
"Yikes."
"I'll think of something else." Kara guarantees, kissing the top of your head. And you make your way to the door. "Wait," She says before you leave. "You're not wearing pants."
"Oh," You look at the large hoodie reaching mid thighs. "It's fine, I don't think Lena would mind."
"I knew it!" Kara says excitedly, and then she furrows her brows right after. "Can't let you leave the house with no pants, though. Especially now that I know where you're going."
"Fineeee." You pretend to be annoyed, but you're not really. It wasn't a good idea leaving the house without pants. Kara gives you matching sweatpants and kisses your head one more time before you leave.
"I'm happy for you and Lena, little one." Then she smiles brightly, eyes lightning up as well. "I think I got it this time."
"You've got it."
Powergirl is gone. Not dead. But definitely gone. And that lifts a huge weight from your shoulders and you're completely sure you won't have nightmares and won't sleepwalk again. At least not for that reason.
But hey, who are you to skip a sleepover date with your beautiful girlfriend, right?
