you want to tell me Sam "I've found the exact building flag smashes are operating in within a day" Wilson, spent two years with no success in finding Bucky "I'm going to wear a baseball cap as a cover up and wish for the best" Barnes?

nah, this man has found Bucky at least 33 times during these two years, but decided to respect Bucky's wish to hide until he is more ready before facing Steve and society as all. and that is exactly how they grew closer and became a thing, until Sam heard the news about the UN and was confused because he knows it isn't possible, then he gets upset because Bucky failed to mention that he knew about the other super soldiers in Russia and wasn't absolutely honest with him and HE FORGOT WHO HE IS after Zemo triggered him with the codes.

this explains why winter soldier never really tried to kill Sam, and rather just put him out of the way, whereas he did his best trying to kill everyone else, including poor Steve.

and why Sam would be angry with him and not move his seat up (although Sam is known to be mature enough to understand that whatever Bucky did was the winter soldier and not him and it sounds farfetched that Sam would actually hold grudges)

this also comes in the right place with why they would end up together in the airport fight, although supposedly they don't know each other or understand each other fighting styles, AND jumping in front of each other to protect each other from the spider dude.

and I'm supposed to believe that all of this loyalty and dramatic sacrifices and jumps is just there on their first official meeting?? just no. that "I hate you" came from somewhere.

these two been meeting up all across Europe and USA for two years, planning for the best time to tell Steve, which felt like never. and that's why they were already so damn close in endgame, although the canon mcu tl makes it clear they don't spend much time together after infinity war.

like I still think about the fact that Bucky and Sam are living peacefully in Delacroix. Sam goes fishing and takes the local kids out on the water on the newly fixed Paul&Darlene, Sarah’s business is going strong and Bucky now helps her with paperwork and her orders and stuff or like babysits the kids, everything is dandy and then…. The sky simply rips open.

And they just look at each other like:

100% as they’re suiting up, Bucky turns to Sam and says “are you SURE we can’t just ignore it?”

and some sort of verbal ping pong match goes down about which of the Big Three is responsible for this.

Joke’s on you, Sam, it’s none of them, it’s your own damn friends.

Headcanon of the day: sambucky as parents.

Raising their first kid is kind of tough, like tough enough they have to call Sarah for help. They're about to die from frustration and tiredness when she walks in, shinning like a miracle and showing they can handle a baby just fine.

“You guys fought Thanos and his alien army, but y'all can't take care of this tiny thing??”

It's embarrassing, but soon they get the handle of things like the cool dads that they are and not so late, they adopt more kids.

Sam enjoys every second of everyday with his cute little family and hates leaving them to go work. He makes sure to come back home from every mission, every dangerous trip around the world, 'cause nobody is taking him from his family.

Duel to the missions Sam has to attend, Bucky fully comitts with becoming a house dad and absolutely nails it. It's actually a dream come true staying at home, taking care of the kids and waiting for Sam to get back from work and greet him with sweet kisses.

They'll take the kids in many adventures. Field trips, sleepovers, rides on the boat, building treehouses, camping. Everything they can think of.

Post its with notes about important dates, groceries to make, sleeping time, school schedule and many other things will be everywhere.

They're both paranoid on the exact same level, both overprotective as hell, trying to predict every step the kids will take.

People think that because of the metal arm and the whole used-to-be-the-winter-soldier thing, Bucky is the threatening, terrifying and serious dad. He's actually the cute, shy and very clumsy dad. Just don't do anything with his husband or kids if you wanna live lol

Sam is the serious and terrifying dad. If you give him one reason to suspect about you...[jaws theme song starts playing]. The minute you turn around he's got his eyes on you, watching from afar with a stern expression, protectively holding his children.

Sam let the kids play with the shield, takes them flying to especific places just to show off and see them happy. He teaches them how to use redwing, how to fix and create techy stuff.

Bucky goes around speaking other languages with the kids all the time, even if they don't understand. Later at night, he'll sing lullabies in romanian and tell them stories about old times.

Both of their camera rolls are filled with pics and videos of their children and each other doing the cutest and funniest stuff everywhere they go.

here i am again, did you miss me?

hc that when sam and bucky first start living together as a couple, it's in a raggedy apartment in new orleans that they make their own

their apartment was small, but full of the both of them. from their inherited sailboat shower curtain that seemingly always smelled of salt water, to their god awful shaggy rug that bucky thought would look nicely in their living room. on the side table a few feet from the door, a bowl sarah had gifted them that hold their keys, and a picture of sam and bucky on the docks that cass had taken on sarah's phone. their table cloth was the one bucky used to take sam on a picnic date. their large collection of wine was purely sam, no excuse for it. it was homey, full of life. and it was theirs.

in that apartment is where bucky first realized that they had a home. that they had a place to call their own and people they loved and others they cherished. that, for the first time on their own terms, they were truly free.

in that apartment is where sam put his past behind him. where he tucked riley and his parents and karli and everyone he has lost into his heart and moved on. where he saw his future. where he saw his bucky. and he couldn't be happier.

when they eventually decide to move out, get a bigger place, they give their thanks. they thank the off-white wallpaper of their first home for the memories and the chances it gave them. it was a teary goodbye, but a necessary one. and when they drive down lucason street, they always stop to admire the greasy looking building that gave them a second chance at living.

i am pioneering this ship! (samclintbucky) here's some date night headcanons:

i present: samclintbucky date night where they try to go to a bar or club

but they need to go somewhere so bucky can dance

and that caters to sams refined alc tastes

while also selling the cheap low alc content beer clint exclusively drinks

and also not being crowded enough to stress bucky out or too loud for clint's hearing aids

also bucky is a basic white girl at heart and exclusively drinks sugary fruity syrupy sweet drinks

clint and sam have to take turns dancing w him cus bucky is still learning modern style club dancing

and if clint goes too long on the floor he starts dad dancing but if they leave him at the bar unattended he gets into fights

bucky will refuse to STOP dancing once he’s started tho, so sam and clint have to like take shifts

and sam gets bored/lazy after ten minutes of dancing he’ll just be bumping and grinding w super low effort

so they end up doing a weird bar-crawl club-hopping situation except one of them is always unhappy w the drinks or music or layout of the place so they’re changing locations almost every half hour

they can’t even do shots bc that’s never enough for bucky to feel but if clint touches hard alcohol he goes into a my-father-was-an-abusive-alcoholic spiral and sam just wants to listen to good music w a good whiskey and his boys

but he can’t bc not only is he stressing abt his bfs, he’s also worrying abt safety and exposure and budgeting and not getting sick or anything

its lighthearted tho like its chaos but its their chaos

and bucky def has to teach sam how to formally dance cus sam only knows the like normal funky fresh dancing he learned growing up/through media

whereas clint Knows how to Dance cus he was in the circus he just Chooses to b ridiculous. he feigns oblivious so that bucky will also give him lessons, but this is ultimately exposed by nat on a mission

I have this returning thought that the new Captain America suit has a built-in health monitoring system (and it works like super accurately, because its Wakandan technology). Torres likes to check from time-to-time how Sam's doing, and always smiles at Sam's increased heart rate, whenever Sam is phisically close to Bucky on a mission.

Jewish Bucky things that make me cry

- His childhood in Jewish New York. We know he had three younger siblings (sisters, in my headcanon) and that he was good at school and athletics. I think he was probably very active in the community and the synagogue as well, that popular neighborhood guy that everyone loves

- Him and Steve both being the children of immigrants. I headcanon that Steve’s first language was Irish and Bucky’s was Yiddish, and they learned English as they became friends

- being drafted into WW2, as a Jewish man. Hearing from relatives overseas about what’s happening, until the letters stop coming. Him wanting to fight fascism but also struggling with the harsh realities of war and the moral implications of killing people. him having to deal with antisemitism both at home and during the war

- being singled out at Azzano for being Jewish, and that’s why Zola chooses him to experiment on

- the howling commandos liberating concentration camps. the prisoners didn’t speak much English and the howlies didn’t speak much German, but Bucky talked to them in Yiddish and said the prayers, and they knew they were safe.

- how much more heartbreaking it is for him to be captured by Hydra, a Nazi organization. how vindicating it is when he breaks free and destroys them.

- how severed limbs are supposed to be buried with the body in Jewish funerals.

- how Bucky struggles to regain his faith as he recovers. remembering the prayers little by little, going to synagogue again. his first mikveh after the war, and he finally feels clean. how he breaks down at Yom Kippur. how he does his best to do good in the world, to make up for what he did, to make amends with the people he hurt, because that’s the Jewish way.

Sam and Bucky laying down in Madripoor, sleepless. they talk about everything, starting from their mission, to their personal lives. Sam shows Bucky his nephews pictures, Sarah and the boat. he would tell him about those trips he went to with his mom and dad. Bucky could relate to a few things about the docks and their shared love for seafood. then Sam would confide in Bucky about the financial struggle of it all, and how "it'll take ten years to fix it", he would tell him how he still feels attached to it, but also kind of guilty. and they'll open up to each other. Bucky goes to sleep that night with dreams of the boat, the lake and his family.

"So, this is the boat, huh?"

"This is it."

"It's nice!"

Sam and Bucky are dating

Sam is the head chef for Star Shield restaurant, Bucky is a host, and Steve is the pastry chef; the three of them own the restaurant

Tony is a daycare owner who loves kids with a passion but is afraid to have his own

One day Sharon, who works with her beloved cousin, says they should get dinner at Star Shield because her new boyfriend (Steebe) works there and she wants to bug him, and Tony’s like “Okay” and rolls with it

When Sharon and Tony get there, Bucky is like “👀Oh worm? He’s cute” and flirts Tony up (Sharon finds it amusing when she sees Tony blush)

After Bucky seats them, he goes to the kitchen and tells Sam that Tony is a cutie

Sam peeks out and agrees with his boyfriend and is like “He’s about to get the best meal tonight”

When Sam makes his food, he makes the waiter (Clint) relay his flirting to Tony; Clint is annoyed that he’s the messenger owl but he also finds it amusing because he loves drama and wants to tell all the dirty little secrets to Natasha later; Tony continues to blush at the comments and Sharon is still amused

At the end of the dinner, Tony thinks about leaving his number for Bucky and Sam but doesn’t

Bucky and Sam are bummed because they think overdid the flirting, which they did,

But then! Tony comes back to Star Shield, totally for the food (“Shut up Sharon, I’m not going back to see them!” [he totally is])

When Bucky and Sam see that Tony is back they get excited but tone down their flirting

Steve totally gives Sharon updates on what’s happening between the three

Eventually, Tony becomes a regular and leaves his number for them
