The Daiya WIP I'm MOST excited about might be too niche haha. Obviously it’s a Miyuki x reader series. Miyuki joins the MLB (knowing me, it will be the Mariners and that means I get to write a little scenario with him meeting Ichiro? I might explode). Reader is the team’s executive chef/sports nutritionist whose job is to craft menus for the team’s athletes, coaches, and staff and therefore interacts with the athletes and trainers multiple times a day.
This felt right to me because Miyuki is such a baseball nerd that, unless there were extenuating circumstances, he probably wouldn’t be meeting people outside of the team. And even though he knows how to cook and knows about the importance of nutrition for athletes, I think he might see food as fuel that you have to ingest rather than finding joy in it or being curious about new things, and it would be fun to write him like trying new foods and learning to enjoy food again not as an act of necessity (I might be wrong on that though. One of the reasons why I haven’t written any Daiya fics yet is I haven’t finished watching the anime, nor have I read the manga, and I’d want to know everything I can about the chars first before I feel comfortable extrapolating about them).
There are no lines written yet! But just for you, I’ve whipped up a little something below (based on Miyuki's dislike of chocolate cake):
You push the plate toward him, ignoring the brief wrinkle of his nose as he sees what’s on it. “Just try it. One bite. That’s all I ask.”
“I’m not going to like it, and then the rest of it will go to waste.” He pushes the plate back toward you.
You roll your eyes. “You’re behaving like a literal child, Miyuki. If you don’t like it, I’ve already made the salmon you like as backup.”
He continues to glare at the plate. Long enough that the last of his teammates pass by, grabbing their food and giving you a quick thanks as they amble toward the dining tables, leaving just you and Miyuki standing there at the service table.
He reluctantly picks up the fork and spears a piece of chicken. Some of the dark brown sauce drips back onto the plate as he brings it up to his lips, eyeing it warily. “What did you say it was called again?”
“Mole negro.”

It hit me deep on my black panther post when a follower said I don’t know my true roots because I call myself “african American” I explained to him how I understand how “African American” is an oxymoron because the meaning IN ITS ESSENCE is to be “black on both sides” but this is the hand I am dealt in the land where classism is the new racism and I’m doing better than a lot of black men my age because of my job but in the scheme of it all I’m still at the bottom ...(but I digress) black is just a color and doesnt describe me as a person but my skin and just saying I’m African or just being Jamaican TOTALLY disregards my life living under a system of prejudice policies And over 400 years of my ancestors being slaves here and on my father side maybe even my Jamaican roots it’s disingenuously disregards all of their struggles for me to be right here where I am at here in Atlanta Georgia ...the best phrase for this loss of identity for me and many others would be the assimilation of african people in America. assimilation is more often than not a SURVIVAL TOOL the best way to describe what happened to us here in America...and me and my family are still surviving over 400 years later ...so no I wont just acknowledge one side and not claim the other just because of my own ego doesn’t accept everything that was wrongly done to my ancestors ...it made me who I am today. I can see a bit more clearer than others but that doesn’t change my past and what was done and I’m here, so imma advocate what needs to change in my community rather than ignore it all and just be entertained by Hollywood and pray to the ABUNDANCE GODS and laws of attraction philosophies and not research “the so called negroe” you have to Have a reality check here in America ...I was put in jail because of falsified documents by Henry county ga. police...now I have a felony...when all I was doing was driving my date home from watching a movie 🤷🏾♂️...here’s a dope quote imma leave y’all on ...”injustice is telling your people that they are stars without acknowledging the night that surrounds them”-Donovan Livingston #wip more #blackthought #blackpolitics #amexum http://ift.tt/2ET6Alc

This is from some silly thing I started writing. I have no clue yet where I am going with this, but it is pure dialogue (featuring the Always and Forever OT3)
"Well, this is awkward."
"You think?"
"If you wanted me shackled, you could have just asked."
"If I wanted you shackled, Sister, wouldn't you think I'd leave my own hands free?"
"Focus, please. Niklaus, can you reach my hands?"
"Wait."
"Nearly there, Nik!"
"Shut up... Ow! Yours are laced with vervain?"
"Yes. Yours aren't?"
"No."
"Lucky you."
"You try mine instead."
"I think they are bound with magic."
"Great. And I was supposed to have dinner with Samantha."
"Are you sure dear Samantha isn't the reason why we are in this mess, Sister?"
"Shut up, Nik. She is a lovely girl."
"Of course she is. Rebekah, can you see the door?"
18. What writers have inspired you with their use of language? What are some of your favorite quotes?
I have always loved the grandeur of the LotR, but I don't write the same way myself. Older novels like Jane Eyre are also wonderful. But the greatest uses of language are in poetry I think, and not novels.
We read Alen Ginsberg 'Howl' in high school and it struck a chord with me:
"I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,"
Or anything by Emily Dickinson:
I dwell in Possibility–
A fairer House than Prose–
More numerous of Windows–
Superior– for Doors–

19 "For fans of ______!" What works would you say are similar to yours?
For fans of Mature Young Adult? If that makes sense? Most of my fic are based on a CW show after all. I think the book duology Six Of Crows/Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo has a 'fandom' writing style which I admire.
In a more fandom sense, fans of anything Klelijah, Haylijah and the Mikaelson family in general ;)
21 How do you come up with titles? Do you use placeholders or tend to change your titles while writing the first draft?
I think of titles at the exact moment AO3 asks me for one. (At least one letter AO3? I just spend gruelling hours writing this thing, don't ask me for that.) I tend to get inspiration from quotes/phrases I've heard or song lyrics.
My WIP titles are as descriptive as 'Klaus Elijah panflute' or 'full moon drabble'
24 Do you let your story evolve as you write or do you meticulously plan everything prior to writing the first draft?
I do have a story 'planned out' in my head before I start writing, at least the general gist of it. Sometimes I write a quick outline with the story beats if I notice it becomes longer. But I don't plan everything out, and sometimes what I write changes from the original idea.
25 Do you start your novels with dialogue or description? Do you end your novels with dialogue or description?
I start with description, often of the surrounding. Something to sketch the setting and urgency of the situation. And the endings are descriptions too.
