I’m finally back to writing this story! I’d posted it previously, and rather impulsively, before becoming dissatisfied with how it was going. I’ve edited the first chapter, so hopefully I can stick with it this time.

Happy STS! 😊 How would your characters in their current state react if they were introduced to their original, baseline character concepts? Would they be different enough that it’s like meeting someone completely new, like meeting an uncanny doppelganger, or somewhere in the middle? I’m always a sucker for seeing how characters grow and develop not only within the course of the physical story, but also how they change and evolve as you go about writing them.
Happy Storyteller Saturday!
This is a really interesting question!
So, Jocelyn has stayed very much the same since her inception. Miranda has changed a bit more - originally she was much, much less welcoming of Jocelyn into the pack. She was colder, really. A good person, just not very good at expressing her emotions. Now she’s warmer, but keeps her affection strictly to her loved ones. I think she wouldn’t respect her earlier incarnation very much, because she was crueler.
The more interesting change are characters in my new WIP, The Magic City. The main character Theo started out as the spoiled daughter of a rich man.
Now she’s a privateer. Life comes at you fast.
Anyway, I think the original Theo, who yearned for adventure in a stifling life, would be thrilled to meet her counterpart. The piratey Theo would want to help her younger counterpart, on the other hand, and help her escape her life for more freedom.
In Smoke & Smolder, Sarah is pretty consisten from her earliest idea. But Audrey is a bit different , and so is their relationship. Originally, Audrey was a classic mean girl, very firmly in the closet. Now she’s still popular, but much nicer, out and proud with a very supportive family.
The newer Audrey would probably pity the original one, whereas the original Audrey would be jealous of her newer self.
Thank you for the great question!

I was tagged by @milkyway-writes! Thanks for the awesome questions!
Instructions: treat this like a tag game! Choose which question(s) you want to answer. Feel free to answer by reblogging this or making your own post.
A. If you have two or more WIPs, what would happen if your main character/casts got switched? How would they react to being in a new world? Would they survive?
I love this question! Considering my two main WIPs, Her Hunter and Smoke & Smolder, I think that there are a lot of differences between the two worlds that the MCs would be shocked about.
With Jocelyn and Miranda suddenly in Smoke & Smolder, they would be really surprised at the provable existance of multiple gods, for one, and the dragon fossils, for another. Smoke & Smolder takes place in a traditional medieval fantasy world, but one that’s progressed to an era similar to our modern one.
If Sarah and Audrey were switched to Her Hunter, I think they would be surprised by the existance of vampires and werewolves, etc, because they don’t exist in their world.
I think both would survive alright - my worlds aren’t that dangerous!
Well. Mostly.
D. How different would your WIP look if it was set in the wild west? What about a sci-fi setting?
Her Hunter would probably be fairly similar as a western. I might make Jocelyn a traveling hunter instead. And it would definitely be a small frontier town. The relationship between humans and the supernatural might be different, though - possibly werewolves and vampires would still be hidden.
As sci-fi, I could see it taking place in a dystopian future. Maybe one where vampires and werewolves and the like are even more oppressed? Or one where werewolves packs are more like gangs. Not sure.
E. Your OC(s) find an infant in a basket on their doorstep. What do they do?
Jocelyn would panic. Miranda would be like, it’s just a baby, what’s the problem? And probably want to hold them and stuff. Both of them would want to find out where the baby came from, and call Jude down at the police station. But if they couldn’t find out, I think Miranda would want to adopt the baby into the pack. Jocelyn would come around once she calmed down.
F. What would be your OC’s favorite class in high school? What major would they choose for university?
Jocelyn favorite class would probably be History, and she would go for Sociology, or maybe something in trade school. Miranda’s would be English, and she would chose, like, Women’s and Gender Studies as a degree.
I. Where do you see yourself as a writer in 5 years time? 10 years?
Oh, gosh. I hope to have written a lot by then! I’d like to be published, either self-published or traditionally. But hopefully that will happen a bit sooner.
K. What’s a story concept that you’ve been thinking about lately? Are there any old projects you’ve set aside that you’re keen on picking up again one day?
Lately I’ve been wanting to write a pirate story. Maybe even space pirates. But I have four five WIPs right now so another might be too much. And I have a high fantasy wlw story idea that I started and abandoned ages ago about living in the ruins of an ancient magical civilizaiton that I might pick up again one day.

Happy Storyteller Saturday! What's an interesting fact about your OC that they don't think is very interesting?
Happy Storyteller Saturday!
Hmm. Going with Smoke & Smolder, I think Sarah doesn’t think it’s very interesting that she’s a technically dragon, because in all practical ways she’s human. That is, of course, until she starts to change
Thanks for the great question!

Happy STS!! Does your character(s) typically choose fight or flight when faced with danger?
Happy (somewhat belated) Storyteller Saturday!
Her Hunter: I think both Jocolyn and Miranda lean more towards the fight response, though in other ways they’re quite different.
The Fateless: Marisa is definitely a fight response person. She’s got a sword and she knows how to use it.
Crosswise: Bridget is a flight response kind of person. Morgen more of a fighter.
Thanks for the question!
