Kvasir messes me up so so so fucking much you guys. Like I understand the vikings had a different approach to death and yada yada so forth whatever arguments you wanna make they're reasonable but still it. I just.
You mean this beloved man, known for his wisdom and poem and song, and who went around helping people with his wisdom and poem and song and was dearly beloved by the gods just. You guys he was straight up murdered and his blood stolen for magic fucking mead. There's no revenge for his murder or anything it's just that Odin saved his mead.
"Folk declares that every skald (poet) has a drop of Kvasir's blood in him. ... because a world without it's poets would be too dreadful a place to image."
Messed up or not, he lives on in poets, storytellers, and songwriters alike- all those with the understanding of the power of word, the wisdom to yield it.
In The Bifrost Incident it's still the same. His blood pumping and fueling the machine, running through arcane glyphs. He's always just been used for his blood, and even more irony drawn from it likely being Odin gaining the most use from his blood.
And yet, no matter how miniscule it may seem, Kvasir still lives on in his universe there too, in poets and songwriters and storytellers- somehow, The Mechanisms carry a piece of him in their travels ever since his death and Yddrasil's fall, just as you and I may have his blood in our veins.

Godly Parents of the Bishops
This is kinda just a quick first draft for later fic ideas. I'll probably come back and not like it. This is in HC order of collection:
Shamura, youngest child of Inanna, goddess of fate, and Odin the Fox, god of foresight.
Narinder, only child of Hecate/Diana (need to pick a name), goddess of magic, and Anubis, god of death.
Kallamar, second born child of Apollo, god of shiny things and music, and Sirona, god of healing and the sea.
Heket, only child of Set, god of plenty, and Demeter, god of starvation.
Leshy, unknown.

Everyone s irrelevant to your life, unless you make them relevant.
You chose who you let in your life or not, you chose to let a person fuck you over or yoke you up.
But it’s also your choice to not tolerate it, to let them go, and let it go.
You chose your path to Happiness or Misery.
Which road are you willing to take?

Legends and myths about trees
Celtic beliefs in trees (10)
Ph for Phagos (Beech) - all year around
Stars: Mercury, Saturn; Gender: female; Element: air, earth; Patrons: Ogma, Thoth, Hermes, Mercurius, Odin, Kronos; Symbols: learning + knowledge, wisdom + understanding, prosperity
The beech tree is a tree of learning, a symbol of prosperity and success. When walking through a beech forest, the large trees with the smooth, silver-grey bark and the curves created by the trunk and branches are like a living elephant or rhinoceros, giving you a sense of relief all year round.
In spring, the beech forests are bright and breezy, and the bluebells are in full bloom, the contrast between the dazzling young leaf colours and the blue announces that 'spring has come'. In spring, the beech spreads soft, translucent, golden-green leaves with a fan-like shape, and in summer these leaves eventually become hard and dark green in colour, changing to yellow, reddish brown or golden in autumn. It is an essential tree for the forest.
The beech tree symbolises the written word, human innate wisdom and ancient knowledge. In olden times, writing was written on beech wood, and the first books were made by binding thinly cut beech wood. Before that, they were scrolls.
The beech tree is associated with deities of wisdom, knowledge and intelligence, such as Odin in Norse mythology, who brought us the runes, or the inventor of the Ogham script; the great warrior of the Tuatha Dé Danann; the monstrous strength of the eighty oxen; and the Celtic god, the sun-faced Ogma. And because of its connection with the creation of the secret code alphabet, it is also a symbol of divination and prophecy.

Six Sentence Sunday
The fic where Thor gets "affianced" isn't really about the arranged marriage, it's more about whether or not Thor should be so quick to accept Loki's "I can totally get you out of this, bro, but you'll have to trust me" offer.
“He’s a troublemaker,” insists Fandral. “He causes problems for everyone, and he enjoys doing it.” “He’s the son of Odin,” says Thor, loudly, reminding everyone, “just as I am.” Perhaps more so, even, for doesn’t their father plan and scheme and engage in subterfuge as gleefully as Loki does? He might be more subtle about it, but while Thor admires and respects their father he has never quite been able to trust him (and he suspects that Odin would be disappointed if he did). “None of us would ever suggest that he isn’t,” says Hogun, stepping up to the role of placating peacemaker.
The tricky thing with this fic is I'll have to balance a good-natured tendency to think the best of people which may be edging into naivety with not making him just seem stupid and/or too gullible to live. But Thor is also stubborn, which I think can become a refusal to see the flaws of someone he cares for and who he has long-since categorised as "not that shifty" in his own head. Meanwhile he has some self-esteem issues going on (if only because in most of the fic I read he tends not to). And yeah I know fandom tends to view Thor as being "like Odin" (while Loki gets Frigga, because apparently it's one attentive parent per child around here) but writing that bit up there has made me question that more. Hrmmmm...

My favorite part is how Kratos gets told Atreus has been searching for Tyr behind his back, that Odin won't interfere and will just calm things down with Freya, as long as Kratos does not fight Odin... and Kratos just promptly says "no".
No "I'll think about it" or "geez, what was that about, Atreus?".

Quote
Everyone's got me all wrong. You think war drives me? Power? Wealth? Naw. Never have. Know what drives me? What I really want? I want answers. Same as you. See, mortals have it easy. When they push up against life's big questions, they can look to us to give them meaning. Divine comfort. We both know that's a sham. But when we have questions? Why are we here? To give meaning to mortals while living without it ourselves? No. We're more than that.
