I wish the emperor in bg3 was as cool ( and hunky ) as you make them out to be, how you portray the gang and greygold is all so sweet 😭😭😭 but after finding out what he did to Duke stelmane... I'll just pretend your version is canon instead. I love your art!
Right, so originally I wasn't gonna abroach that topic with a 13½ ft pole, because sensitive subject, but gonna have to roll up my sleeves and acknowledge it was very much indeed a topic that Greygold had to consider and formulate their own conclusions on. Sure even though Greygold didn't find out the be-hella-mean way, there were concerned friends with mindful observations that had Greygold confronting the possibility that the Emperor and Stelmane's secret underground business practices might've had some uh...Problems!

The conversation went a lil everywhere BUT in short-
Greygold's philosophy is to hope for the best, but always prepare for the worst.
Case in point: Greyg's team. Maybe not everyone did shitty things in their past, but they certainly had ample opportunity to do shitty things on this journey that Greygold had to veer them away from. As Greygold sees it, if their teammates can change for the better, hopefully the Emperor can and will too. Everybody is capable of being awful, but also being awesome kind, so gotta give the squid a chance.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. But you can hear it and more Sith legends thanks to today's sponsor, Audible

Something really useful that could happen from Belos possessing Hunter is Hunter getting Belos’ memories.
I even have some evidence that may prove this. When Belos is possessing Hunter and is talking to Luz, he sees an opportunity when the rest of the group shows up. He makes a smug look and reveals to the group that Luz helped him. How could he possibly know to do that. How could he know that the others didn’t know, how could he know that Luz didn’t want them to know. The only one who knew all that was Hunter. Yeah, it could’ve just been Belos being full of himself, but I feel like his actions normally have a reason. And since he seems to know something that only Hunter should know, there’s a possibility that Belos got Hunters memories, and so that could mean Hunter got Belos’ memories as well. (It makes sense considering they shared a mind)
Tumblr media
Now why would it be useful? Well Belos knows the most about The Collector and how they work. Belos is also the only one who knows what magic is keeping himself alive and making him invulnerable to attacks. But if Hunter got Belos’ memories, he could then find out more information about the collector and how to approach them, and he could find out how they can defeat Belos for good. He can even find out more about the full backstory of the whittebane brothers. This will then make Hunters possession meaningful and important to the main story. To make it a key reason into defeating The Collector and Belos that would make the possession very necessary, and even thematically appropriate for the story. Belos’ own actions yet again lead him to his downfall. Everything that happens in a story needs to have a reason, and this could be a possible reason for the possession.
But hey this is just a little theory of mine that most likely isn’t even true whatsoever.

my brother’s current bg3 campaign is a really beautiful example of what playing the game with zero savescumming zero reloading and zero charisma is like. he’s a half-wood elf noble fighter and is utterly pathetic. lae’zel’s been dead since level 3 from a spectator incident in camp that also killed scratch. he simply did not kill those zariel “paladins” karlach asked you to help murder and so doesn’t have her. i don’t know how the fuck he managed to do it but he completely failed to convince shadowheart to give up shar and not murder nightsong so she got murked in the shadowfell. isobel managed to get kidnapped on his first turn and every single harper save jaheira died, and then she died invading moonrise towers. isobel then died in the ketheric fight. there’s -2 healing going on in his party. everyone has died and been rez’d multiple times, often multiple times in the same fight. the only people he has left are wyll, astarion, halsin, and gale. “me and the boys” he says with the absolute saddest look on his face. he told me he was legitimately so depressed going into act 3 because it’s been such a disaster. he fully expects to have lost everyone by the end of the campaign. he’s in a hell of his own making it’s so funny.

Hello! Can you please rate my Napoleon? This is an extremely rare but dangerous species. This Napoleon is of the ghoul species, like the ones from the anime/manga Tokyo Ghoul. I did this (fast) drawing btw!
...
Rating: Is this legal!?
Aren't Napoleons dangerous enough? Now we are turning them into ghouls?! Wild Napoleons at least have natural predators like Tsars and Dukes of Wellingtons and coalitions to keep them in check but if this one gets loose it could be a total collapse of the ecoystem!
I hope, at the very least, you're keeping him on a leash!

So I absolutely loved the first two books and really liked children but I've been struggling pretty hard to get through god emperor. In my opinion this is the low point in the series so far. Does it get easier/better in the last 2?
I'd say that's a very common experience. I had a hard time too because i didn't really like the sudden jump forward and all the changes that happened to Arrakis and the empire. Not to mention the god-emperor is creepy af and most of the time you don't get what he's saying.
Just hang in there, the book gets realy weird and i didn't really understand it the first time but rereading the plot on wikipedia and other sources helped me figure out what was going on in that little worm head of leto ii. it's not my favorite either but it has its charms and most importantly it's crucial to understand what happens in the final two books (another time skip incoming)
The last two books are not everyones favorites but personally i liked them, especially Heretics of Dune. They are very much focused on the bene gesserit, with the main characters all being part of the sisterhood, so if you liked them you're in for a ride! and also i like to imagine the atmosphere more gloomy and kind of gothic? but there are also worms and the desert and a lot of elements from the classic dune :)

honestly have yet to play a video game where i didn’t feel like the climax kinda fumbled the ball. it’s really really really hard to transmute the sense of potential and possibility inherent to a video game into a narratively satisfactory close that meshes with ALL the player’s choices. bg3 did pretty well for me but still. i have a sense i will be running many a playthrough where i simply don’t make it past that orpheus vs emperor bullshit

Yeah, I will admit Baldur's Gate 3 caught my attention with the introduction of the Dragonborn as a playable race(and thank god they got the tail).
... But... The thing with the Emperor sort of tipped that scale even further.
