Aha...hah...

What if Cana left the island before Acnologia came to destroy it because of the bullshit Makarov pulled? I imagine Cana hearing this, what if something inside her snapped and she just. completely shut down. became so defeated. She gave twelve years of her life to try to become S-Class and this was her one chance to do it right, to prove she could do this on her own merit, and yet after all the bullshit with Grimoire Heart and Hade's, suddenly the trail is canceled? What?

No.

What if she just very quietly, very casually, so as not to raise suspicion, took her healing bath with Lucy, knowing it would be the last time she'd see her. Got dressed and, oh, haha hey there wouldn't happen to be any drinks back on the boat would there? Aw well, I'm gonna head over, anyone wants anything? No? Don't mind me~

--and that's when she decides she'll go.

It's horrible. Terrible. But she's in a state of mind that's equivalent to heading toward the gallows. It doesn't matter anymore-- nothing matters anymore, so what's one sin to add atop her other failures?

She'd find the small boat and head towards their ship, her mind already in that heavy fog of depression that would take a shovel to dig out of, a hand outstretched to pull her from that pit-- but she's already forming plans about what she'll say to the rest of the guild when she arrives back at Magnolia when she hears that terrible roar.

And she sees the wings of the Black Dragon and she knows that Death has come to take her family away and she panics she's terrified but she attempts to row back to them, to try and help them, to use Fairy Glitter-- maybe that could stop it, maybe it could save them--

She's not able to make it to the shore in time before the dragon roars, sending a destructive, cataclysmic blast and destroying the very island that she abandoned them at. Cana is only able to survive because she was far enough away from the island that the shock wave would have blown her away from Tenrou but it wouldn't be enough to kill her. She wishes that it did though.

Cana eventually being found and rescued by the Magic Council and then interrogated by the Magic Council, before being released where she heads to back to Magnolia, back to the guild to deliver the news. And all the while, the guilt and weight of her sin embolden her with a new purpose: she can't let the cowardly choice she made go without atonement. She was punished for her disgrace by watching her family die, the least she could do was stay and take responsibility and care for the ones that were left behind.

Cana returns and delivers the news. And then when a vote is cast, Cana is elected as the Fourth Guild Master. She works hard to maintain Fairy Tail's reputation, focusing on helping the townsfolk in Magnolia, focusing on improving their community relations while working on eliminating any Dark Guilds and Zeref Cultists that encroach upon their territory but their reputation is not the same as the Golden Years. It is almost reserved, withdrawn-- an animal that has suffered and is grieving needs time to heal and lick their wounds wouldn't be out and about making waves. And while yes, Fairy Tail doesn't make waves, that doesn't mean they're completely docile.

Cana has led their guild to a few victories in the GMG. But they're not of the same caliber, and it is only by the skin of their teeth that they're able to stay afloat. It's a struggle for Cana to keep going. But she can't stop.

But she knows that soon, they'll return.

It's rare that her gift of Sight grants her the boon of seeing the future, but she does see-- it's a glimpse, a fleeting mirage, but her visions have never been wrong. And that is what gives her hope, and that hope is rewarded when 7 years pass and Blue Pegasus greets them with news about Tenrou's disappearance. That is the sign she was looking for and sends out a team to go with BP to search for them. Meanwhile, she prepares herself, all the while dealing with upstart little shits trying to move in on her territory (Twilight Orge) and if there's one thing she won't stand is anyone disrespecting her guild.

And then one day they make a ruckus, looking to pick a fight and claim that she owes them a debt and the rage she feels is hot and deep because the only debt she owes has already been paid with her blood and sweat, and tears and her body--

They're a nuisance that's dealt with in a manner befitting that of one familiar of a dragon slayer's reaction but its recognized.

When they cheer "We're home!" Cana has to fight back the tears. She allows the rest of the guild the chance to greet them, to express their relief and joy before she makes her appearance. The shock of seeing Cana alive when they thought she had died from the Black Dragon's attack is met with equal relief, but Cana cannot take comfort in it-- she doesn't deserve it. They see her and how much she's changed, how well becoming a Master suits her.

She's older, wiser, and a hell of a lot stronger than before, but the years have also burdened her with the weight of responsibility. No one would recognize the same woman from 7 years ago as the same Cana Alberona, but she stands before them with a tired, weary smile, but it is no less filled with joy, heartache, and relief. The price of leadership is a sacrifice of personal autonomy: it means you no longer belong to yourself, but to your peers, your guild, your family -- and Cana has carried this for so long, it is a wonder how she held on. A Guild Master is a leader and shoulders all of the guild's victories and failures and if there's one thing Cana does to make things right, it's own up to her responsibility.

One of her responsibilities is to tell the truth: so, naturally, she did. She confessed what happened that day 7 years ago: she tells them her plan, her thoughts, tells them her whole reason for why she chose to leave the guild, the real reason why...and her secret that she had kept hidden for 12 years. In one fellow swoop, she reveals she is Gildart's daughter, delivering another shock to all but one person. She wouldn't expect absolution. She doesn't deserve it.

But her family is far better than her. She receives understanding. Kindness. Compassion. Acceptance. Forgiveness. From everyone-- because she tried to go back to help fight a futile battle, but more, she took care of the ones left behind. The thanks given to her, by everyone and most especially by Makarov, is humbling and overwhelming.

--even more so is the acceptance and love given by a father to their daughter--

She embraces and accepts the love denied her: a father's love long overdue, she weeps while the guild celebrates.

Today is a day to reacquaint with new faces and old, to learn and accept changes that are faced from the passage of time. But it is also a chance to plan for the future. Cana stood against the threat of irrelevancy that Fairy Tail faced, alone as Guild Master.

Now with everyone reunited, she can finally lay down the sword and rest.

The rest would be up to them now.

I'm still thinking about it and I'm gonna have to workshop it but hear me out:

Soap who's been carrying an aether infection in him since Zaravan and the worm.

Jansen and Barrera unsure of how recent the infection was vs if the neutralizer even could clean living tissue.

Soap carrying a relatively normal existence since then but requiring experimental treatments of sorts and constant monitoring if his condition deteriorates.

Soap noticeably more irritable, angrier, mood shifts, constantly itching at his skin until it bleeds, why is it not red--

Soap who hides it all with scarves and long sleeved shirts and jokes about how the weather's just taking a turn.

Soap who knows damn well that he's a dead man anyways when he grabs the knife off his vest but this is the one opportunity they have to fix what should've been done four years ago.

Soap who survives, but at a severe cost.

The thing that is wearing Soap's flesh now, single minded in the extreme desires of the last thoughts of a dead man.

Okay, I think while I have this burst of energy, I should start cobbling together the start of a wishlist. So take this as a part one, by no means exhaustive list, this one inspired by a couple films:

Tron ⸺ one muse, a, takes the place of the user, transported to a digital world altered and corrupted by a rogue programme, the other, b, a programme whose function is up to the mun. b could be fighting to restore their world or they could be an antagonistic force bent on stopping a, but where it goes from there is anybody's game. with varying levels of control, they'll keep changing the world as they need to.

Indy Jones ⸺ muse a is in possession of, whether through inheritance or accidentally, information / an artefact that could lead to a fabled treasure of incredible proportions. muse b is either a well-respected and established scholar / historian or an avid adventurer with their own agenda that meets with muse a to discuss what they have and share information. they set out on a grand adventure fraught with danger, twists, turns, and a little sneaking around and illegality and of course nothing is ever as it seems.

Don't Worry Darling ⸺ this world is a simulation, a fabrication, and muse a begins to notice that something just isn't right after a series of odd events. muse b either is the mastermind behind the simulation or is just someone they know from this life who plays confidant to muse a: someone who also begins to notice that this life and this world seems weird, and they set off sneaking around for answers. (and this can be set in all different settings, eras, situations, you name it. also can take on a more matrix-y vibe too.)

Pacific Rim ⸺ muse a is an experienced jaeger / mech pilot whose co-pilot was killed in action. solo piloting is still far too dangerous to do regularly, so they need to find a new pilot they're drift-compatible with. muse b is wholly unexperienced as a pilot (how they're brought into it is totally up to the writer) but shows exceptional aptitude for it and also happens to be incredibly compatible with muse a. that kind of bond and connection is deeply personal: what's going to come of it?

PLOT WISHLIST FOR: Loke (aka Leo The Lion)

Honestly since @shinebrightlikealion is my exclusive and main Loke I’m just listing all the threads that we’ve screamed at each other but for propriety’s sake I’ll list more because clearly we don’t have nearly enough canon threads between these two.

Like for example the fact that they were canically partner’s begs the question: of how they became partners. (and technically remi and I already have a thread regarding this so that’s checked off the list)

There’s also the question of how Loke and Cana first grew to know each other when he first joined, so an interaction when they first meet is something I definitely want. Because with loke first coming into ft and living with humans and just taking each day one at a time knowing his existence could end today, in a year, in 30 seconds???????? who knows???????????

There’s also the matter of Cana’s ability of future prediction and her seeing his future is a shock because she can’t see it. Just the sheer relief of being around him and not getting any visions is calming and yet at the same time it begs her to question: is Loke really human? Why can’t she see his future?

On another note, her becoming fast friends with Loke despite his flirtatious manner, which doesn’t necessarily bother Cana but how he excessively flaunts himself upon woman after woman kinda annoys her (and not because she’s attracted to him in any way. Nope, not at all). But regardless of that particular quirk of his, Cana still finds it easy to talk to him and he can relax around her without having to play the Womanizer.

And when after the Phantom Arc and he’s at the end of his life, give me Loke and Cana having like a last Hurrah, just Loke treating Cana to one big drinking binge, as if he’s toasting the end of his existence and he wants to tell everyone he wants to tell Cana what he is and what happened but the guilt and shame prevents him. So instead he treats her to one last night of drunken frivolity and he gets Cana drunk enough that he tells her that its the last time he’ll see her, but that his time spent with Fairy Tail was the best because of everyone, especially Cana.

Just. :’))))) Fuck Me Up.

Just the day of him disappearing and how he’s at the end of his life, his energy is gone and Cana can’t remember what happened because she rarely ever get’s drunk but she knows Loke made sure she got home safe, and then she comes to find out that he’s left Fairy Tail??

Oh man, Cana would be hunting him down, outraged and confused because what did he say to her when she was too intoxicated to hear? It was important, she knows its important but she can’t remember and dammit she’ll beat him senseless if he doesn’t give her some sort of explanation!!!

And oh hey surprise! Turns out I’m a Zodiac Spirit and well, the fact that he never bothered to tell her hurts her and pisses her off :’) enough to the point that they have a fight.

A really bad fight.

And it never gets resolved and so there’s tension between them that transcends months until the Tenrou arc, when the S-Class trails begins and he shows up to be Gray’s partner

and the old resentment and hurt feelings boil and Cana loses it again.

Just these two being so close and for Loke to betray her friendship (but is it really more than that?? Is it?? really ???? more????) by not telling her when she trusted him just. Tears her apart.

Whether they come again to talk and try and resolve their feelings/issues is settled and when they arrive on Tenrou island and do battle with GH, Cana and Loke fall into familiar battle stances because they were partners, they know each other’s strength’s and weaknesses like the back of their hand. They fight in unison that is unrivaled, their combat style almost identical (it makes sense though, since partner’s train together to fight c: ).

And then Cana assuring Lucy that Loke would win the fight against Capricorn with such faith brings me to tears. Cana knowing he wouldn’t be beaten easily, knowing he would win and when Lucy confirms it Cana being a little relieved because she did worry.

God and then the Seven Year’s after.

Loke finding Cana again at their smaller guild to check up on everyone, but taking Cana aside especially because their fight felt like moments ago instead of years and him just

Apologizing and explaining himself properly

Cana forgiving him and understanding why he hide what he was, and just these two finding closure in one another. Ugh!!!!!

ANd this is just them being friends. Imagine this in the context of them still being together as lovers. :’)))))))))

Beyond the GMG arc and so forth is them just taking moments and spending time together when he can visit, in whatever capacity that is available. But I will add more if I can think of it B)

As for conflict, Bluefur doesn’t truly love Thrushpelt, but she forced herself to be with him because she thought it would cause too much trouble to be with the one she truly loved, Crookedstar. Poor Wave probably would feel so confused when Bluefur admits it…

unrealistic to wish for but post5 albert finally grasping that he's sick and needs help (especially in psych!) and finally being able to start the recovery process and he gets on the right meds and ditches the shades and burns the fuckin matrix coat and sure ok he'll never be the albert wilde he was supposed to be but fuck he'll sure distance himself from being albert wesker my pathetic meow meow ... it doesn't erase what he did at all but also recovery is something i hope for... hm we shall see if he ever gets there
