“There are some things, after all, that Sally Owens knows for certain; always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder. Keep rosemary by your garden gate. Add pepper to your mashed potatoes. Plant roses and lavender, for luck. Fall in love whenever you can.” ~ Practical Magic ☆ Alice Hoffman

The Evermore Grimoire: Magic Powers
Scrying is a basic witch power to find a being or an object through the use of a crystal and a map. All the witch has to do is hold the crystal pendant over a map of the area where it is thought the lost being or object will be. The more violent and vigorous the swing of the pendant, the closer the witch is to the object on the map coordinates, like a "warm or cold" method of looking for something i.e. the more vigorous the swings the "warmer" one gets to locating what they desire. The pendant will eventually pinpoint a location by pulling down on to a spot on the map after a certain amount of time. For a scry to pinpoint the exact location of something, usually a personal item or even blood of the being in question is needed. Amethyst is said to work best as the most powerful scrying substance as it's believed that it can heavily augment the witches psychic or magical abilities.

Halloween Series: Witches in Fiction 🔮✨
The Enchantress is a minor, yet crucial, character from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Disguised as an elderly beggar woman, the Enchantress went to the castle of the Prince on a cold winter's night, and requested if she could stay overnight to be protected from the cold in exchange for a beautiful rose she was carrying. Unimpressed by the beautiful gift and repulsed by her appearance, the Prince refused and shut the door in her face, despite her warning not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is found within. When she knocked on the door again, she revealed her true form to the Prince. Seeing how powerful she was, the Prince sought her forgiveness, but it was too late, so the Enchantress put a curse on him: for his selfishness and cruelty, he would become a Beast until he learned to love another and earned her love in return. She also cursed all the servants transforming them into anthropomorphic objects, the castle became dark and lonely and the surrounding forest became dark, misty, and infested with wolves, bats, and other vicious animals so only very few would dare to enter it. A witch ought never be frightened in the darkest forest because she should be sure in her soul that the most terrifying thing in the forest was her.

What’s wrong with her? Her spell’s not working. What spell? I don’t know. She doesn't want to be white trash anymore. I told her, "You're white honey! Just get over it."

The Evermore Grimoire: Projection Powers
Astral Projection is the power toproject the consciousness of oneself or others from the body. Those that wield this power can project or separate their awareness consciousness, presence or spirit, alternatively known as their astral form, from their material bodies, allowing for perception interaction and travel independent of mental or physical limitation. This state is usually achieved through entering a trance via lucid dreaming or deep meditation. Those with more experience may be able to control both their astral and corporeal presences, allowing them to project their astral selves without losing consciousness in their physical forms, with their projection acting as an extension of their physical self. Eventually wielders will be able to separate others from their physical forms to either travel alongside them or to imprison them in an incorporeal state. Telepaths can also achieve astral projection simply by projecting their minds as well as that of others.

Halloween Series: Goddesses of Death & Magic 💀✨

Louhi was goddess of the underworld and a powerful evil witch queen who ruled over the northern realm known as Pohjola in Finnish mythology. Her powers included shapeshifting, commanding the weather, healing, and giving birth to the most monstrous of creatures. Sometimes she is credited for being the mother of the Nine Diseases (as Loviatar); however, there is debate on whether Louhi and Loviatar are two different goddesses or whether the names are just regional variants.
