Hey Witchblr ...I've a question.

Received a baby witch kit as a gift and included are a pair of stone arrows heads (picture under the cut). What would these be used for? Do they have a specific purpose (is it tradition specific)? Or could they be used in a more personalized capacity?

Google and the books I do have either don't mention it or want to talk about the history of arrowheads.

So yesterday I made my Artemis and Apollo altar by my window because I found a pair of electric candles for cheap and had the urge to. Right after making it I started seeing spiders everywhere? One in my room, one crawled onto my cup and scared the shit outta me, one giant one by our car, another had made a web in our living room, and one on the window of a convience store we went to.. does this like. Mean anything. I've never seen so many spiders in a day before. Also this morning an orange ladybug was watching me in the bathroom so um 😭 any ideas as to if this is a sign or from who is appreciated!! I never had this many weird coincidences when I made my Aphrodite altar.

Does anyone know what it means when a single item/piece in your osteomancy set stays inside and therefore was not used in the reading?

I just did a small osteomancy reading for myself last night and this happened to me.

I still got a good detailed reading though.

I think it just means that the item/piece wasn't relevant at all, so that's why it stayed inside the small bag I had.

But I would still like to receive some insight from others on this.

For those of you that follow death-related deities (like Hel, Hades, Osiris, etc)

How did you come across them and what got you working with them?

I’ve been obsessed with the aesthetic of death ever since I was little (collecting dead bugs and plants and stuff) and I’ve felt very close with it as I work with Hel, but it’s becoming less about Death itself and more about the passage of time and adjusting to the changes of life. And reminding myself to live a life I want.

I mean, I still love Death aesthetics, literature and the like, but I’d like to hear how and why others work with death-related deities 🖤

Ok super big question to anyone witchy, spiritual, has any ideas/knowledge, etc. I've had these dreams various times throughout my life that stick with me so strongly. They are the ONLY dreams i can remember in anything other than flashes or a vague feeling. Not only can i remember the whole thing even years later, it's also extremely vivid. Each time i come to a realization but I don't realize I'm dreaming. I realize I'm somewhere where things aren't "normal". I know I'm not in this world or plane of existence or whatever you want to call it. One example being talking with my granddad and stopping when i realize he died 2 years ago. When i ask him why he's here if he died. He tells me he knew i needed him. And i just got to sit with him for a while. Another i was in the middle of a huge forest and at one point a woman asks me a question to which a nearby woman tells her that I'm not from here but I'm vouched for and they both leave without speaking another word to me. I wish I could describe the like vibe of any of these experiences but i can't verbalize the feeling. Another where a man told me you're always welcome here, we may not remember you, but we will always be happy to see you come and go as you please. And it was true quite a few times i came and went and they wouldn't remember me but we're happy to see me. The time spent there feels like, i would like to say days in only a few hours, but the amount of light in the sky never changes so I'm not sure if you can call it days. This doesn't happen super often but i don't know what to call that even to explore it a bit. Astral projection, lucid dreaming, something else? I have no clue.

Do I count as a witch if I do spells but I don’t think really the power comes straight from me? Like am I just a pagan? I do spells (I think? Are they just rituals?) with spell ingredients and candles sometimes and spoken words etc. But I tend to think that while I have some sacred power by virtue of existing as an entity in this universe, I always invoke a deity. I always believe that I am just making a request to that deity, with some offering to sweeten the deal. I believe the sacred in me honors the sacred awesomeness of the deity, and that this love creates the power of the spell when they respond in kind. Sooooo lol am I a witch at all? Perspectives welcome!

Hey witches :) QUESTION:

I, in an ignorant manner, got dried sage to burn a while ago. I though that, as long as I didn’t claim the word “smudging”, which is exclusive to a lot of North American Indigenous communities, it would be harmless to use sage myself, a white Brazilian. I remember seeing this online, and I was ignorant and didn't double check.

A while ago, I stumbled upon the fact that all use of burned Sage and Palo Santo are closed practices. I researched and now I am aware. However, now I have dried Sage and I don’t know what I should do with it!

Throwing it away would be super disrespectful, but using it would be the same. Any suggestions?

I thought about respectfully letting it burn till the end praying for my open practice pagan deities so they could protect and honor Indigenous people struggling in North America. Would that work?

(Again, I promise this was pure ignorance and not bad intent)

… what do you do with the salt after? Do you set it under to moon to cleanse so it can be used again? Do you flush it away?

Religion Question

so i've been doing a lot of, well, religion hopping i suppose. trying to find out what it is i truly believe in and want to put my faith into.

what i've begun to feel/realize is that my faith seems to come from what i create. so, would it be possible for me to, in lack of a better word, "create" a religion for myself?
