Happy 2/22/2022 ! Today is a good day, Go do something you love, spend extra time with yourself or with others you cherish. I usually write stuff like this in my journal at home but why not post a bit of my thoughts online. I'm slowly learning to put myself first before other things an people. Its a very hard thing for me to do. But I truly see now that before you can do great things for others, you must learn to love an care for yourself first. Some cute and spoopy tingz I found in me room while I was cleaning I just forgor to post them. The silly bandz I rember were such a trend when I was in grade school, we’d trade with each other and some students would have so many they went up both arms and at one point they became so distracting with the trading and wearing them that they were banned at our school. These are just the Halloween ones, there’s also a princess set and circus set that I have too. Also also the moon is supposed to be glow in the dark. And the. ¡my first tarot card deck!

ahhhh! im sooo excited to do so muh with this deck. the art on it is amazing! soon as i held the box of cards, i felt the excitement rush up my spine!

i removed the plastic around it and opened up the cards when i got home. i shuffled them, and asked a few questions until i started to realize: these cards don't even know me. so i consulted a new witch friend of mine and she gave me a few tips for a new deck of tarot cards:

Q: how do i deal with a new set of tarot cards? i've talked to other witches and i've heard i need to cleanse the deck and introduce myself. how do i do that?

A: "You basically put the deck under your pillow, that’s the introduction because it’s suppose to give you certain dreams or visions. To cleanse them I use incense and sage roots! I just let the pure smoke clean them, i put the deck next to the incense stick while it burns through and it just cleanses them nicely. Having crystals around is also really good at keeping negative vibes away from your cards! Lastly, you have to keep them in a tarot bag or box! ☺️"

Q: is there anyway to increase the chances of getting a certain type card?

A: "In tarot you have wands, cups, swords, & pentacles. If you have fire present at your reading then that encourages a wand card to come out!"

Q: is there a limit on any questions i can ask at a time? when should i let them rest?

A: "You can rest your cards when you want but you have to keep in mind that if you overdo your readings, you can get lightheaded because they drain your energy to work."

note~ once i've found that a friend's tarot deck cancelled us when we kept asking it questions. the more we asked it, the more it kept giving us less less accurate answers. at one point, we pulled the hierophant (i think) and it basically told us the shut the fuck up and stop asking. moral? never out-ask the deck!

those are a few tips i felt like sharing with a few other fellow witches! please let me know if you have more tips, and i'll be sure to check them out!
