I love first-person because it’s about what the narrator chooses to tell. What do they focus on? What do they leave out? What can you learn from reading between the lines? Are they lying to you? Are they lying to themself? It’s great for unreliable narrators and for epistolary storytelling! It’s intimate but there’s still a distance because you aren’t really seeing the narrator’s thoughts--you’re just seeing the story that they’ve constructed.
I love second-person because it’s a conversation. Does “you” mean a broad, indefinite “you”? Does “you” really mean “I” but with plausible deniability? Does “you” mean one specific person? Can they hear the narrator? Do they know the narrator? What is the relationship here? Who’s talking? Who’s listening?
I love third-person limited because it’s focused and intimate. What does the world look like from inside this character’s head? What are they seeing? What are they feeling? It doesn’t grant them the privacy that first-person does; the narrative isn’t something they’ve chosen, it’s invisible and inescapable. As a reader you’re not watching so much as astral projecting.
(I love singular point of view because of how much it leans into that limitation. You’re not getting the whole story; you’re not seeing anything unless this character sees it. How do you embrace that? What do you do with the gaps around the edges? How does that define--or warp--the events that they’re experiencing?
I love multiple points of view because of how it broadens your understanding of the story and the world. If two point-of-view characters react in opposite ways to the same thing, what does that tell you about them? About the world? How does it feel to spend time inside a character’s head and then see them from someone’s else’s point of view? How do all of these viewpoints work together?)
I love third-person omniscient because the narrative is a character. It’s great for stories that know they’re stories! It allows for a camaraderie between the narrator and the reader! It allows for wider and more cinematic descriptions because you’re not limited to what a specific person can see! It lets you look at the characters from outside while still giving you the option to delve into their heads because you have full control over what you’re focusing on!
And I love authors who can combine viewpoints in ways you wouldn’t think would work but manage to pull it off! Stories with multiple point-of-view characters where one is first-person and the others are third! Stories that combine first- and second-person! Stories where the omniscient narrator suddenly refers to themself in the first person! Stories where you realize halfway through that you were wrong about who was narrating it!
Isn’t it fantastic that there are so many different ways to tell stories!!!!

anyway um. shoutout to disabled people who move their bodies in ways that are considered "wrong" or "abnormal" regardless of the cause or how it's classified. and this isn't limited to just ambulation.
paralysis. dystonia. gait abnormalities. people with muscle weakness and/or atrophy. people with brain damage. rotational differences. clubfoot. knocked knees. other limb and bodily differences. functional deformities that affect movement. tissue contracture. muscular dystrophies. spasticity. impaired proprioception, balance, and/or coordination. chronic pain. spinal disorders. dyspraxia/DCD. apraxia. ataxia. dystaxia. tourette's syndrome and other tic disorders. conversion symptoms. tremors. neurodegenerative disease. degenerative bone diseases. joint instability. myoclonus. parkinsonism. tardive dyskenisia. various other neurological problems.
...and the list goes on.
personally i feel a bit surreal when my body not doesn't always move in the ways i want it to because that straightforward connection that's there for abled people has been disrupted in a myriad of ways. but no one is gross, ugly, or scary for being unable to move their body in ways that society considers "normal" and "healthy." no one deserves to be gawked/stared at or treated like they're subhuman because of the way their body moves.
it's okay for us to exist.

ngl im fucking terrified of how the fandom will act when the asian ccs get added and they are confronted with asian customs such as honorifics, asian cultural norms, and the language itself (ie words that are common in one language that sounds like a slur in another) and i know most of the fandom will be open and welcoming but idk im probably being way too pessimistic as someone who is asian and has seen the bs that people can spew esp regarding things like stereotypes

Ngl definitely thinking back to the cartoon-making chapter now we know that Twilight doesn't realise studying/pursuit of knowledge can be fun. No wonder the cartoon he made sucked. He was approaching it purely from the educational angle with zero idea of the entertainment aspect that makes edutainment programming effective.
It's not that he was really bad at writing the fun parts. He plain didn't realise there were meant to be any in the first place for it to work.
Copying the aesthetics with no understanding of what was underneath.

i think we as a fandom need to talk about the fact that the targtower children’s resentment and disdain for rhaenyra is not just the work of viserys lack of parenting but due to everyone else too.
it’s from otto doing everything in his power to stop rhaenyra from getting the throne so his blood can get it, not because he thinks aegon is or would be a good king, not because he thinks his grandson deserves it, but because his blood would take the throne, not rhaenyra’s, not daemon’s. HIS.
it’s from alicent’s every conversation on screen with aegon revolving around rhaenyra. how, in ep.6, his mother stops his session to tell him he needs to be better to his brother in public so we can be a united family against her, how if rhaenyra takes the throne, she’ll have no choice but to kill them to keep her throne, how in ep.8, alicent is mad at his continuous behaviors but only this mad because rhaenyra is about to be in town.
the talk before his coronation is explicitly about how much his father wanted rhaenyra on the throne, how he had twenty years to change it and never did. it’s about alicent telling him not to not be swayed by judgements to kill rhaenyra, how above all the terrible she’s done, she still his sister. yet no one has ever acted like she is.
it’s from aemond’s eye being taken out and it ending with his mother yelling at rhaenyra about duty and sacrifices, how she can do all and never get in trouble, how she does as she pleases and is happy, yet she, the queen, is dutiful and isn’t. aemond’s eye is used to get back at rhaenyra, his mother is mad that his eye is gone but it’s more because RHAENYRA’S sons took it then it being taken at all. how he has to soothe his mother even if he’s the one bleeding.
it’s from criston cole bullying and tormenting rhaenyra’s sons because they are rhaenyra’s sons. It’s about them being lesser because they came from her indecency, them being worse because they came from her. her sons being lower than them because of them being a direct connection to rhaenyra and him feeling mad about not being the one she choose.
the targtower children entire world revolved around rhaenyra. it wasn’t just viserys who preferred her, everyone did! rhaenyra’s stepmother would rather fight her than love them! their mother’s sworn sword would rather mess with her children as an act of vengeance than genuinely be interested in them, their grandfather’s every political move was to stop her husband from being near power. love or hate, those children never had a chance to see rhaenyra on their own before or after Driftmark.
their father, her father, loved her more. their mother, her stepmother, hated her more than she cared for them. their grandfather, who has no connection to her, would rather deal with politics through them against her than for them. their mother’s sworn sword, who was rhaenyra’s sworn sword first, hates her more than he likes them.
these kids, again, never stood a damn chance!!

it's a grimm mask. if its only purpose was to hide her identity as the spring maiden, any mask would do; maria is a proof of that.
"the masks are a symbol. humanity wanted to make monsters out of us, so we chose to don the faces of monsters."
to wear a grimm mask is to wear a symbol; hiding of one's identity with one is almost a secondary function—and the question whether raven wore one to hide her identity as a spring maiden was considered too spoilery to answer after the reveal had already happened.
if that was the sole, even just a main purpose of her grimm mask, by all means the answer should have been a simple "yes".
so really the main question i have at this point is if the 'monster' aspect of it is internal—something raven thinks of herself—or external like with the white fang—something someone else said / thinks of her, and she took it to heart.
something about heroes and monsters. the silver eyes of legendary warriors, the burning red eyes of grimm. the power stories hold. death symbolism and axes; the judge, the jury, and the executioner.
just... raven doesn't have the mask during the flashback.
and she throws it away to reveal she is the spring maiden, as if that's not why it's grimm, that as far as its relation to being spring maiden is concerned, it's purely practical; it hides her identity.

I apologize for the QSMP posting (q!bbh grabbed me by the leg and dragged me back in the mcyt rp community somewhat) but I want to say that q!bbh is basically c!bbh but better.
This is gonna be a little rant-y but I've held this close to my chest for a long time
Like, looking back on it, the DSMP while it introduced cc!bbh to roleplay and managed to plant the seeds for him becoming a better actor, it also was a terrible place for his character. As an antagonist he barely stood out due to people like cc!dream hogging out all the spotlight to act as the "main villain" of the server.
It also forced cc!bbh to do more cinematic and planned streams when most of c!bbh's best moments come from complete improvisation. I've never rlly liked any of his scripted streams all that much as i felt they never really reflected on his character or story well.
An arc like the egg arc also sufficated c!bbh's character as all of his wrong doings was placed on the egg which ended up being poorly developped as we never actually got any revelation on its existence or even purpose. Along with cc!bbh being kind of clearly influenced by popular fandom opinions which always went along with the idea that c!bbh's entire character revolved around some kind of tragic romance with skeppy.
However now we got Q!BBH and from what i've seen, it's basically all I wanted from c!BBH. There are no third party to explain away his actions and his blatant immorality/demon nature is pointed at without denying how he still has attachements.
Also can i say how much cc!BBH's acting chops have improved, it was clear in the beginning of the egg arc that he wasn't very comfortable with acting yet and it came off as pretty awkward.
But now he is straight up having hour long monologues themed around his character slowly going insane and it managed to genuinely be chilling.
Basically I wanna say props to cc!BBH for how much he has improved, I hope his character gets to eat people.

Now that I've mamaged to sleep...
So if you've heard Umazane Misli in Malay yesterday at Joker Out's Amsterdam show (6/12), that was me who sang it at the barricade in front of the boys.
If you have any video recording of me singing it, please send it to me!
I would love to keep it and also tell my parents that getting a C for my Bahasa subject during my high school final exam ACTUALLY GOT ME SOMEWHERE HAHA.
Thank you also to everyone who cheered as I attempted the lyrics in front of Bojan. It's a great honor to bring Malaysia and South East Asia to the spotlight for a moment.
For anyone curious about what the actual words are...

yall know that reclaiming slurs is not something that everyone can do or wants to do, and while “whos allowed to say what words” slur discourse is largely pointless, you gain nothing by making fun of people for trigger tagging slurs, and you are being a dick, and you are also being stupid. bc they are, once again, slurs
