A beautiful 78 degrees out, this morning! Nice weather won't last that long, though. Got some reports of a lightning storm out in Zone 6, so be careful out there.

Roads are clear. Perfect for a nice little morning drive before it gets too hot.

Reminder that the Dirt Bike Races are tomorrow night at 9, down at the Tracks! They're just out in Zone 5, south of Route Guano!

I don't think Dr D ever wanted to be a symbol of the revolution, nor did he ever really want to be "the voice of the Zones". He only fought in the helium wars because he was protecting his family. Which at the time was Show Pony, his nephew that was entrusted with him just before the wars started, and the hope that Show Pony's parents, Dr D's brother and sister-in-law, would live to see their child again. But they didn't. And the wars ended. And what was he to do? The only thing he did before the wars was play silly songs and tell stories over his radio broadcast. Show had just 13 and he knew they knew that their parents weren't coming back. So now he had a mourning teenager and the difficulties of living in the middle of a desert where killjoy society was just barely forming, not to mention getting used to being in a wheelchair. What was he to do besides turn back to what he did before? He flicked on all the switches, plugged in the microphone, and had Show start up the generator he managed to save. And thus the WKIL 109 FMX or 109 radio station was born. Out of grief. Out fo struggle. Out of need for something from before everything went to shit. And soon word spread all over the newly forming "Zones" of this man called Doctor Death Defying that would come on over the radio and talk about stories, tell words of encouragement, and even share songs made by the rebellion. Over the years as this became a sort of routine for him and Pony he took on new people, helping them get their start or pulling them out of horrible situations. And it was through this music and Cherri's poetry and pure word of mouth from Killjoy to Killjoy that he became the voice of the Zones. Even after his death you can sometimes still hear recordings of him speaking if you tune into the radio at the right times. Some killjoys say it's because Show still plays them sometimes, it's like Dr D always said, "Even if you're dusted, you may be gone, but out here in the desert your shadow lives on without you."

FUN GHOUL

Fun Ghoul was the kid of a higher rank in the BLI, and even though he was only a kid, he became an exterminator because of his amazing ray-gun skills. He had a sister, brother and a mum. (Perfect family) BUT his mum was getting abused by his high ranking dad but because of the pills Ghoul never realised. One day he skipped having his pills by accident, and went out exterminating. He realised how fucked up the system was, and came home confused and mentally tired. Because of the pills he’d never felt a negative emotion before. He relapsed and ended up taking the pills again to feel better. Some time later he couldn’t help himself and skipped his pills again to experience negative emotions. That day was the day he battled the killjoys (Party, Kobra and Jet). He got gravely injured and started pleading for his life. The killjoys were confused as they’d never seen emotion from an exterminator. They ended up spearing his life. He ran home and after being off the pills for more than 3 days, he finally saw how his father treated his mother. He knew her smile was fake, and was completely enraged. He switched his mums and siblings pills with fake ones, in attempt to open their eyes. He wanted to run away with them. But when his father came home, he knew something wasn’t right. Ghoul knew he only had tonight to run. When they did, they were immediately caught by the BLI. Fun Ghoul put up a fight, in attempt to save his family but because they were all so unexperienced, they all died. He ending up running, running faster then he’d ever ran before. After making it into the desert, he looked behind him. Realising that his family were really gone. 

After days in the desert, he found a radio in the sand and deciphered the code that lead to the Killjoys whereabouts. Fuelled by his rage against the BLI he walked across the desert to find these killjoys. To get his payback. After a long journey, he found a bar. As he walked in, everyone stared at him, their eyes open wide. His BLI uniform was tattered and torn. But then he saw party. They were serving drinks, he went up to them and asked to join there killjoy group. Party was not having it. He was clearly a spy send by the BLI. At least that’s what he thought. But pretended to agree. Party wanted more information on the BLI and this was a great opportunity. He brought Fun Ghoul to their camp and explained to the other what his plan was. They strapped him to a chair and ‘interrogated’ him. He spilled all the information he had, the pills, his family etc…. it took a long time for the 3 to believe him. But after seeing his gun skills, they knew they could use him. 

After years and years of the Fab Four being the Fab Four everyone trusted Fun Ghoul. But one day, Kobra and Ghoul were training in the desert, Ghoul misfired and shot Kobra in the chest. After Party and Jet found Ghoul, Party yelled at him and accused him of being a spy for the BLI. He got kicked out of the Fab four. He tried to prove his innocence by (I’m not completely sure yet, suggestions? Something to do with him battling the BLI and hurting his arm) 

Later he joins the killjoys again.

PARTY POISON (AND KOBRA)

Party and Kobras parents were some of the original killjoys, after surviving the apocalypse their family heard about the BLI. (This was before the BLI had taken everything. They were just starting to rise to power.) Their dad was friends with Dr. Death Defying and helped start the killjoys radio station (WKIL 109 FMX). But even though they thought they were careful, they underestimated their power. Because the BLI wasn’t fully in power, when they did end up running everything, they were ambushed. Both there parents stayed to fight, telling the other killjoys on the radio that they were in serious danger. Both of Partys and Kobras parents are assumed dead. Party and Kobra were hiding. They hid for 3 days straight. (Even though they new they were gone. They couldn’t bare to leave.) Even Kobra, only a baby, lay silent. He didn’t speak a word for his entire childhood. After the 3rd day Party finally left for food. He discovered their bodies were taken. (Later they get turned into mindless BLI zombies).

Party and his younger brother Kobra had to make a living in the outskirts of the desert. That’s where they meet up with Dr Death. Party lied about his age for most of his life (as when he needed to travel to Battery city with Kobra or anything like that he needed to be over 18 or there was a slim chance Kobra would be taken from his custody.) Kobra always thought he was being dramatic, but after losing his mother he couldn’t take any chances. Party had to grow up super fast to look after Kobra causing him to lose his childhood. He tried to get a job but he sucked at pretty much everything. One day a bar owner asked them if they wanted to be a stripper in his club. At first he refused but the man offered more and more money until he manipulated party (remember he’s still underaged) to strip at his club. Promising to make party a fake ID (making sure Kobra was safe) and lots of money. This is why party is so sexual and confident as that’s his trauma response to being sexual exploited as a child. (Pls tell me if this is way to far, I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable and I’m not going to draw/show any of this. It’ll be revealed when he talks to Kobra later) He has deep routed trauma but never shows/tells anyone because secretly he’s afraid of being manipulated or exploited again. When Kobra found out this was happening, he told Dr Death. Leading to Dr Death threatening the man and beating him almost to death. Party and Kobra had a big fight over this and they never fully recovered until Fun Ghoul almost killed him. (This is where Party tells Kobra everything, while crying. Telling him how much they love him etc)

KOBRA KID

(Same as party for the most part) he was non-verbal as a kid and never had any parental guidance. He was home alone most of the time and had/has vivid memories of his parents screaming and being murdered. Since party was always out getting money as a kid he developed serious separation anxiety and would hide under a table whilst shaking until party came home. (That’s why he learnt martial arts.) Even though he knows party was out making money for him, he still felt that party was neglecting him. He always thought that one day they’ll go and never come back. He thought that party just viewed him as an annoyance. This made them drift apart and lead up to the fight they had. Most people look over his truama and focus on party’s which also made him secretly resent him. (He loves party deep down as they are brothers <3)

JET-STAR

Not much is known about Jet Star. He had a family but he shrugs off any questions. He’s great at anything technological, (making Mikeys arm thingy.) After the events of “Na Na Na” a droid shot his eye, leaving him completely blind in one eye. This impacted his shooting, making him feel useless compared to the others. (Any more suggestions for Jet Star would be appreciated!)

THE GIRL 

Not sure how they found her yet (pls suggest ideas) but Party definitely was the one to find her.

Below the pocket is a black canvas patch with a white skull over an X next to the words “WKIL 109 FMX,” where the ‘I’ in WKIL is a lightning bolt. It has been safety-pinned to the vest. In the bottom corner of the vest is a patch shaped like a snarling black cat's head/face with orange details. The right side of the vest (from top to bottom) has a blue banner patch mostly obscured by the collar. It fits around a round yellow patch, outlined in red, that reads "I dress to the left" above a red arrow pointing to the right. To the left of this is a circular black patch with a simple cat’s face in the centre of the patch, with outlined lightning bolts to either side. Above and below the cat’s head are the words “C.A.T. fanclub ‘21″. The pocket flap has four circular gold decorations spaced equally from each other. The actual pocket has a rectangular tan patch that reads "Terminix. Termite Protection" in green and black text, with one orange and one green stripe above the words. Another pin is shaped like a large building with a red roof, above the words "Lunenburg Academy. 1895-1995." I really like Cherri Cola so here's some things about him that I made up/kept as part of my HC:

Cherri loves poetry. Reading it, writing it. Whenever he talks on WKIL 109 FMX, he reads it to the listeners.

He has a gray streak in the front of his hair even though he's only 26. He dyes it blue from time to time but his hair doesn't hold color very well so there's really no point.

Cherri has a deeper voice. He can sing pretty well, too.

He's very quiet and observant. Very much a peacemaker when Dr. D and Show Pony (or really anybody) butt heads.

Kind of like a big brother to Show Pony. Pony is an adult but Cherri tags along to parties to make sure they don't get into too much trouble. He basically babysits them.

He's very emotional, but he doesn't show it much. Even when he's happy, there's a sort of sad aura around him.

He and Kobra have a very deep emotional connection. Cherri and Kobra are both very reserved beings but they open up to each other a lot.

Cherri's poems were often kind of sad but, lately, they've been about love. He puts some poems that he writes for Kobra on the radio, from time to time.

Cherri is a Scorpio.

True lives of the fabulous killjoys

Hace más de diez años, en Battery City existió un grupo de cuatro revolucionarios llamados Killjoys que perdieron la vida tras combatir contra la megacorporación tiránica llamada Better Living Industries (BLI) por salvar a una pequeña niña misteriosa. Hoy en día, los Killjoys apenas sobreviven en la memoria, en la fe mientras que BLI amplía su alcance y la libertad desaparece poco a poco, cabe decir que hasta ahora, la Niña se encuentra desaparecida, muchos creen que esta muerta pero otros han atestiguado que ella se encuentra escondida intentando detener a BLI de una vez por todas.

Killjoys Originales.

Kobra Kid: Fue uno de los miembros fundadores de Killjoys, cuyas características más distintivas incluyen pelo rubio muy estilizado y una pistola de rayos rojos. Aveces suele usar un casco amarillo con las palabras "Good Luck" en la pantalla o gafas de sol negras de aviador. Actualmente fallecido.

¿Quienes son Better Living Industries?

Better Living Industries, también conocida como BL / ind y BLi, es la megacorporación en Battery City. BLI ha sido la fuerza política y comercial en la ciudad desde 2012 después de los "Grandes Incendios".

Better Living Industries domina la industria de la batería, los productos farmacéuticos, la fabricación y la agricultura. Reciben órdenes directamente del jefe de BLI y se espera que los Scarecrow mantengan un recuento constante de muertes y eviten anexos emocionales innecesarios, como las relaciones, que afectarían su capacidad de matar a otros.

Heard there was a rush of joys on the Getaway Mile earlier today, along with some Dracs.

Our caller seems to have gotten mixed up with 'em! I've got just the thing for windin' down, something off of one of Cherri's mixes. Wind down music is pretty much all he listens to. Keep running!

Roads are pretty empty. Bunch of joys down at Train Station Avenue currently. We got reports of some Dracs outside the city, south in Zone 1. Seem to just be doing some patrolling but I'd still avoid that area.

88 degrees out, right now. Roads are real slow. We've got some reports of some stray Dracs just outside the Outskirts, so be careful if you're near the city.

I haven't got any experience with toxic relationships, so I haven't got any poems I've made myself. But there's this lovely book of Rupi Kaur poems that I think will work. Here's one.

For our Warm Up Race last night, we had Hyper Space in 3rd, Spring Break in 2nd, and Blood Bath in 1st!

Duo Race, we had Vaya and Vamos in 3rd, Dynamite Gal and Honeycomb in 2nd, and, of f-ing course, Assault and Battery in 1st.
