What would be your thoughts on an AU where Adora was potrayed as an actual latina/WOC character (unlike Catra)? You know, considering her VA is Dominican woman
That would be neat. But again (I just answered your previous ask detailing this more), they would have to stop romanticizing the abuse Adora goes through at the hands of Catra. If her being white is already bad, if she were a WOC, the abuse would look even worse.

with my afro latino adora hc, i was thinking of her having different hairstyles. i think her hair's very curly/kinky, and that she'd try different types of styles throughout the years after leaving the horde.
for ex:
undercut with shorter hair
braid(s), big or small, or dreads!!!
styled hair buns ( like a rose or a french braid, if possible )
clouds!!!! you guys don't understand how adorable cloud hair is!!!!
buzzcut ( like me! ^^ ), maybe after s3
afro-styles
there's plenty more hairstyles ( esp black ) that even i don't know of, so i'd like to know other possibilities!
you guys really should look up cloud hair tho.
it's so pretty.

It's scary because most adult fans of SPoP don't realize that, when they sexualize seasons 1-2 (maybe 3 as well) catradora, it's not only incest and pedophilia, but also sexualizing r@pe in that one meme with Adora gagged and Catra with the whip
Like??? Ew first of all and second of all, how is this okay??? It's fucking gross
And before anyone bitches about this, what people do with their kinks is their own business, but people gotta realize this as well as the fact that the supposed WOC character (who's not even actually a WOC) is the one in control/with a whip and taking advantage of a poor, suffering hero in a nonconsensual BDSM relationship
yep. it's funny how they use the “it's just a kid's show, chill” when someone criticizes spop. but at the same time, sexualizes the teenage characters and fetishize abuse. i guess anything is okay if it's a queer couple, right? abuse only happens in straight relationships, according to these people.

Adora Redesign!!
━──────◅▻♢◅▻──────━
Hey all! This is my redesign of Adora, aka She Ra, aka the strongest women of the universe :)
There are a few changes I've made compared to SPoP and the origional.
For one, I've made her a woc. I know there are claims that Nate wanted Adora to be a woc, but I am not sure if that's true. I also made her physically look stronger (at least I tried, I'm not good at drawing buff folks!)
Tumblr media
[Start ID: A digital drawing of Adora on a white background. She has dark brown skin, brown eyes and dark brown hair. Her hair is curly and long. She wears a white top, with poofy sleeves and blue accessories. It has an orange star on her chest. She has a yellow corset, dark blue shorts and long blue-white boots. She is waving and has a shy, awkward smile. End ID]

ngl pretty fucked up that Adora, a blonde blue eyed white woman, and Catra, a non-human that has no legitimate ethnicity(other than being all according to ND which isn’t how ethnicity works), are the only soldiers given legitimate sympathy in spop. Meanwhile the horde trio which has Lonnie, a WOC, and Rogelio, a character with a Spanish name who’s whole thing is that he doesn’t speak English, have a full episode dedicated to them yet are treated as violent and needlessly cruel and never get an actual reason for why they stayed in the horde unlike Catra and Adora.

Do glimmadora stans even like Glimmer and Adora?
Every fic I’ve tried to read has Adora acting like a weak doormat and Glimmer comforting her and protecting her from evil Catra. Glimmer has no arc only that she must protect fragile Adora. Even if we ignore the ooc mess the implications of a woc’s only service to comfort a white woman and protect her from another woc is…. 🤢🤢🤢

If Gli///madoras want an Adora ship that's not her with Catra so bad,why don't they ship her with Lonnie or put her in a polycule with Scorpia and Perfuma instead of actively erasing the fact that Glimmer is a woc who's in love with a black guy, especially since well-written canon ships where both are poc are extremely rare?Just sayin'

What disappointed you about She-Ra?
well. for context, i got into she-ra during the release of its last season. so i bingewatched it all, as one does. the show's not bad - it's disappointing in many ways, and the writing is not exactly stellar, but it gets the job done, has a few nice twists, and okay-ish world building. plus, it's pretty.
HOWEVER. when multiple people have the fucking audacity to recommend it for "diversity" when it very much fails to deliver... that gets on my nerves.
(i'm going to complain about racism and white bs in relation queerness. and i'm not being articulate or moderate about it.)
this isn't about the queer rep. i'm perfectly fine with it and i have zero issues with it in she-ra. i'm pissed because i am black and autistic and allistic white queers dared recommend it to me, and many others like me, saying that i was included in that show's rep. that entrapta's characterisation and treatment weren't vile and dehumanising. that the conditionally positive representation of people of colour was good, diverse, well-researched and beautifully executed. i'm very sorry (i'm not.) but if your idea of positive, ground-breaking representation that will help black people feel more seen and loved is only showing black people presenting in ways we're taught to adopt to be seen as non-threatening... that's shit rep. but i can deal with that. the worst part is, of course, catra and adora, and the inevitable stereotypes and objectification of women of colour in queer circles that gets excused or overlooked because "we're not like dirty white men"... the way this was done in canon and the way the fandom received it just has that vibe of white sapphics who are way too into rev girl utena and way too into woc. so that gave me very big, very bad feelings. but that's just how queer fandoms are. most people are white. that gets uncomfortable at times. it happens. it's overall still bearable and i can live with it.
but unfortunately, it was not just a vibe!! these hoes are fr racist actually. i'm not going to go tell the whole thing because i don't have that kind of energy but there was a whole racist joke moment with the she-ra crew... which was not handled well. like, handled poorly enough for me to know with absolute certitude that every single person in that room is not good to black people. which. i. i was not surprised but y'all. why do all of your fave queer creators have so much racial prejudice in their bigoted little bones???
anyway that's pretty much it lmao she-ra's not as good as y'all said and it's worse than i expected in many ways. i still think it's an okay show lmao

The irony of the anti catradora and glimmadora reciepts account
Disclaimer: Dont expose/harrass/attack these people i mentioned, This is just to observe and critique because i just find it ironic
I find it funny that theres an anti catradora and anti glimmadora receipt account and you see the anti catradora one giving points of why its toxic/problematic and usually is quite kind and polite, contrast this with the anti glimmadora one which other than the pinned post doesnt even critize glimmadora on its own, they critise the stans and not in a kind way either which is just odd to me. I understand stans ruining your ship but why not say anti glimmadora stans receipts instead if you have a problem with the stans more than the ship? Also they bring up race for some reason. Like when there complaining about glimmadora fics, they said ' Even if we ignore the ooc mess, the implications of a woc's only service to comfort a white woman and protect her from another woc is...*with vomit emojis', implying its racist....especially ' protect her from another woc', bruh that woc character did so much shit to adora that would cause her truama, im sure its not about race....

Catra NEVER hurt Adora. All you’re doing is spouting mindless nonesense and expect people to buy it. But we won’t, because it’s ridiculous. You’re clearly a homophobic, transphobic narcissistic cunt that gets off on hurting WOC. Go eat rat poison.
what the fuck????

I keep seeing people saying adora should be a WOC in the new live action. So I wanted to ask you in poc community if you really want sloppy seconds of a white woman instead of asking for new and original characters?
I don’t get the whole “make them poc!” for any character mainly because I don’t see the excitement in wanting sloppy seconds instead of having new and original badass characters that aren’t known for being white. And trust me search’s for adora will alway pop up with a white character in any online search and I don’t think it would be nice to have any poc representation be known for being some white persons sloppy seconds.
Same with any preexisting characters why would you want some white persons sloppy seconds? Why would you want a character known for being white be poc when by doing this you are telling white Hollywood executives that they don’t actually need to care about poc stories or poc people when you can just take any white Disney princess and make her black and poc people will eat it up like it’s not obviously sloppy seconds of a white European fairy tale?

When I heard that Adora was meant to be a Person/Woman of Colour (WoC/PoC). So what I’m doing for the next week is drawing Adora as a black woman because honestly I think we were robbed...
