I hope nothing on here has like, bummed you out or made you less into writing. That's not to say that I expect someone to act the same forever ya know. But yeah I'm basically just wanting to check on you. 👍

Hi! I really appreciate the gesture! My answer's below.

If you mean that my passion/enthusiasm for writing has dulled down recently (or over the past few months), it has, and the whole AI debacle has worsened the deterioration process.

But even with that going on, I still enjoy writing for other people, though my ability to be able to consistently write and queue up fics has deceased because of how repetitive, unrewarding, and taken-for-granted the work can sometimes feel (also life and education also get in the way but, eh).

However, the people like you who have sent in words of thanks and compliments about my writing make it more enjoyable for me to run this blog and write requests, so thank you once again!

On the other hand regarding negative experiences, the worst I've ever had so far is just when people don't even bother to look at/follow my rules. It's infuriating whenever someone sends in a request and it's so, painfully clear that they didn't even to bother to look any further down my rules post, but I'm just happy I haven't received any harassment or any homophobic asks.

Even with all of these in mind I still want to write and maintain this blog, even if it takes me a billion years to unprivate all of my works one by one and then post them to pillowfort. I'll just be a little slow to do so.

I am glad your wrist surgery went well! May I ask what it was for specifically? What was wrong with your wrist?

thank you! sure, i can go into some depth about it because i'd literally never heard of this problem before i had to diagnose it myself lmao

tame medical talk ahead!

the surgery removed a connection between two of the tendons in my right wrist that was causing pain. the membrane surrounding my FPL (the tendon that flexes [curls] the thumb) was overgrown and got stuck to the part of the FDP (tendons that flex the other digits) that flexes my index finger. so, basically, when i curled my thumb, the tip of my index finger was pulled along with it, and moving the fingers independently Hurt. most of the things i do as an artist and general opposable-thumb-haver involve moving my thumb and index finger independently, so it was a problem!

the pain started about a year after the repetitive strain injury i had back in 2020. i think that and additional wear might've caused the overgrown tissue, although it's possible i was just born with some connection between those tendons. i have it in my other wrist as well, but it mostly doesn't cause me trouble on that side.

if you want to look it up, the specific issue is called linburg-comstock variation or syndrome. linburg-comstock can be harmless, but i wasn't able to work without pain, and steroids and physical therapy weren't helping. i'm a year out from the surgery now and although i have to limit the time i spend on a lot of activities (which has been the case since my RSI), i can do things without pain again :)

I had never heard of that Pretty Blood-sorry I hope mentioning it doesn't harm you-series so I looked that up & I was already formulating ask in my head where reader gets minor injury. Okay, I can handle pretty much anything, but that video just didn't settle well with my poor tummy. I'm a peace-loving person, but I do not mind writing about fighting, near-death scenarios or angst.

There might be things that make me look at the request and I will be like, "What the heck did I get myself into?" but usually I can handle those and if I can't, I'll let you guys know.

I wanted to ask cause of curiosity and personal reflection, do either of you think that your music taste would surprise people based on your personalities? Personally my friend has remarked a handfull of times that if people here what I listen too they would be s h o o k. I get a sort of kick out of it tbh😅. I'm quiet but my playlist sure isn't!

It isn't that my taste in music would shock them, it's that the build of my playlists would give them whiplash lmao. One moment we're listening to some kinda bimbo pop, then the next song is Rob Zombie, followed by a showtune of some kind that suddenly leads into a twelve-minute long 80's goth anthem.
