Charlie: (watches as Vaggie reams a group of new hotel guests a new one for breaking almost half of the Hotel's rules)
Lilith: (watches Lucifer sitting next to her start frothing at the mouth as he argues with Alastor) Charlie, dear, is your fallen angel misbehaving?
Charlie: Not... kinda? Just being a bit much. (Glances at Lucifer) Yours?
Lilith: Mm-hmm (dog ears the page and closes the magazine) Remember what I taught you about dealing with unruly lovers?
Charlie: (blushes) I mean- Yeah, but-!
Lilith: Time to use those tools. (Crosses her legs, hooking her leg over Lucifer's lap and behind his knees, and drags his legs over her other leg while pinning his hips with the other)
Lucifer: YIPE!!! (stares up at Lilith from the ridiculously large couch with puppy eyes and a fierce blush, his hips completely pinned between her thighs)
Charlie: (uses her tail to wrap around Vaggie's waist, spins her back towards her seat, and scissors her in a similar fashion that Lilith has Lucifer)
Vaggie: Shit! (Stares up at Charlie as her lower half is pinned between Charlie's thighs)
Charlie & Lilith: (in a velvety tone that sounds equal parts sultry and dangerous) Behave.
Vaggie & Lucifer: (blush harder) Yes, Ma'am.

Responsibility for public health was now understood to be a task for government, not just for working-class women who – until then – had been the only ones concerned with the cleanliness of slum houses, the only ones asking for clean water and working drains.
One such working-class woman was Kitty Wilkinson, an Irish migrant in Liverpool who had been a cotton mill worker and a domestic servant. She opened up her laundry business to her poor neighbours for a penny a week, allowing them to use her boiler and bleach to disinfect their clothes during the 1832 cholera epidemic. She became known as the 'saint of the slums' and campaigned for public bathhouses for the poor.

while I don't think pathologic is the height of feminist literature by any means imo there's good potential for a reading in there about how the concept of innate, gendered spheres of influence and knowledge (i.e. when trads say bullshit like 'the roles of men and women are equal but different' 🤢) is just another tool of oppression that can be utilised when it becomes convenient.
The women in pathologic are persecuted because of their association with mysticism during the witch-hunts for the shabnak-adyr, despite the so-called reverence of the townsfolk towards the powers of the mistresses. I think you could also read aglaya as an example of the even more vicious hatred directed at women who defy that association, given that she is portrayed as the character most despised by the powers that be. Like it's not a 1:1 or anything, and there's certainly a lot more going on with aglaya and the meta narrative than just 'god forbid women do anything' but there's for sure something there about the town's 'respect' for the perceived mystical knowledge of women being a thin veneer for oppression
